MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE
Five individuals are facing multiple charges
for allegedly selling a Lindsay woman’s pain
pills.
One woman, 68-year-old Betty Williams, was
apparently the ringleader of the organization.
Reports state she was selling her prescription
medications to other individuals who then sold
them to others.
An investigation started on October 7, the
day after Williams’ husband was arrested for
child porn charge allegations. Deputies confiscated some cell phones during a search. On a
phone that belonged to Williams, investigators
found text conversations to others regarding selling her pain pills.
Williams and four others were arrested due to the conversations.
The others were identified as Fury Stinnett, 25, of Elmore City; Matthew
Clinton Aaron Johnson, 32, of Lindsay; Kalyn Elisabeth Steakly, 25, of
Maysville; and Karen Alisha Thompson, 49, of Maysville.
Williams is being charged with violation of the OK Racketeer Influenced
and Corrupt Organization Act, conspiracy to engage in racketeering, and
use of a telecommunication device in the commission of a CDS crime.
Her bond was set at $25,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on
November 18, 2022.
Stinnett is being charged with violation of the OK Racketeer Influenced
and Corrupt Organization Act, conspiracy to engage in racketeering, and
use of a telecommunication device in the commission of a CDS crime.
Her bond was set at $15,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on
December 9, 2022.
Johnson is being charged with violation of the OK Racketeer Influenced
and Corrupt Organization Act, conspiracy to engage in racketeering, use
of a telecommunication device in the commission of a CDS crime, and
possession of a controlled dangerous substance. His bond was set at
$25,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on November 18, 2022.
Steakly is being charged with violation of the OK Racketeer Influenced
and Corrupt Organization Act, conspiracy to engage in racketeering, and
use of a telecommunication device in the commission of a CDS crime.
Her bond was set at $50,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on
November 18, 2022.
Thompson is being charged with violation of the OK Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act, conspiracy to engage in racketeering, and use of a telecommunication device in the commission of a CDS
crime. Her bond was set at $50,000, and she is scheduled to appear in
court on November 18, 2022.

4 | NOVEMBER 2022 GARVIN COUNTY Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty
A Florida man was arrested after allegedly storming
the field and attacking a 9-year-old boy during football
practice.
Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies arrested David
Alan Taylor, 41, last month in Pensacola.
Deputies said that Taylor’s son was taking part in
one-on-one tackling practice with another player, when
Taylor’s son was overpowered and started crying.
That’s when witnesses said Taylor ran out on the field,
put a helmet on his head, got into a football stance and
then charged the victim, intentionally hitting the boy in
the chest with the helmet.
Deputies said Taylor then grabbed the victim by the arms and pushed
him to the ground.
Witnesses said the boy was crying, but was not seriously hurt and did
not require medical attention.
Deputies said Taylor then yelled, cursed and approached the coaching
staff in an aggressive manner before he was finally stopped.
Taylor was arrested and booked into the Escambia County jail. He was
charged with aggravated child abuse and disorderly conduct, and has
since bonded out of jail.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

A 60-year-old Healdton man was arrested for allegedly soliciting a minor for sex on social media;
he actually believed she was interested in him.
According to reports, a group called Online
Predator Exposure posed as a 14-year-old girl
named “Marlie.” According to her Facebook, Marlie lived in Ardmore.
The suspect, Anothony Leroy Byrd, started
messaging the woman who was posing as the
underage girl. He sent her an emoji with a waving
hand.
During their communication, Byrd sent several
explicit messages to the girl. He described the
size of his penis and asked her if she was a virgin.
He also tried to meet up with her in Ardmore or Duncan.
Officers placed the man under arrest on October 10. They found a bag of
sex toys in his truck. Byrd told officers that he was “flattered” that a beautiful young girl was interested in him and found him attractive.
Byrd is being charged with soliciting sexual conduct with minor by use of
technology. His bond was set at $50,000, and he is scheduled to appear in
court on November 17, 2022.

Gotta go to Braum’s...
On October 7, around 9:00 p.m., officers were
called out to an armed robbery at the Valero gas
station near 69th and S. Sheridan in Tulsa.
The caller said he was cleaning the store and
preparing to close when a man, later identified
as Devion Nelson, walked in the store, pulled out
a gun, grabbed the victim, and then demanded
money.
The caller said he fought with Nelson and tried
to stop him from going behind the counter, but
Nelson pushed him out of the way. The victim said
Nelson took cash out the drawer then hit him in
the face when he could not get to the safe before leaving.

16 | NOVEMBER 2022 MARSHALL COUNTY Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty
An El Paso, Texas, man busted into a church and absconded with the safe. Safes
are heavy, so he only got a few yards before dropping it on a neighbor’s lawn, where
he tried to crack it open. That’s when he was confronted by the home’s occupant—a
police offi cer.
Is there no honor among thieves? While two suspects were being questioned by
Ogden, Utah, police about shoplifting from a store, someone broke into their car and
stole a stereo and several other items.
How convenient! Only a few months earlier, a man from Iowa City, Iowa had his driver’s license stolen. Then who should show up at the bar where he worked as a bouncer,
but the thief brandishing the bouncer’s very own license as his form of ID.
Anthony Kenneth Mastrogiovanni was impersonating a police offi cer when he pulled
over another car for speeding. The driver quickly sussed out that Mastrogiovanni was
fi bbing since he, too, was a cop, but in his case, the kind of cop who doesn’t have to
pretend he’s a cop because he really is a cop. Mastrogiovanni was arrested for impersonating a police offi cer.
A San Francisco thief pedaled his bike up to a woman on the sidewalk, snatched
the iPhone out of her hands, and rode away. Unknown to him, the woman was in the
middle of demonstrating the iPhone’s new GPS tracking device, which worked—the
thief was captured minutes later.
Following a dispute, Craig Aylesworth, of Bithlo, Florida, allegedly tossed a Molotov
Cocktail at his neighbor’s trailer home … just as the winds shifted, sending embers on
to his own trailer. Luckily, he was arrested, since he no longer had a home of his own
to return to.
Callie Rough of Middletown, Ohio, was picked up for shoplifting from a Dollar General
store with her two young children in tow. Among the booty was a book, 101 Ways to
Be a Great Mom.
Don’t you hate it when you suff er a heart attack and think you’re going to die, so you
confess to a 17-year-old murder, only to fi nd out you’re not going to die and then get
sentenced to life in prison as a result? Yeah, so does James Washington, of Nashville,
because it happened to him.
Clive Halford thinks big! The British career criminal stole a truck and loaded it with
18 pallets of stolen nickel and copper worth around £150,000 (about $250,000). Yes,
the haul was huge—too huge. Cops arrested Halford after the truck’s suspension collapsed under the weight. Earlier, Halford had stolen a car, overloaded it, and broken its
suspension too.

THE CHURCH LADY
Darla Bralley, 58, of Newcastle, pleaded
guilty in October to a two-count felony information charging her with wire fraud and making and subscribing a false tax return.
According to U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester, public records reflect that from 2012
until early 2020, Bralley served as the payroll
administrator for St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church (“St. Paul”), located in Del City. In
her role as the payroll administrator, Bralley
had signature authority over St. Paul’s operating account, and she had authority to issue
checks for authorized expenses on behalf of
St. Paul. Bralley also had authority to conduct
online banking transactions for authorized St.
Paul expenses.
At a plea hearing on September 28, 2022, Bralley admitted that between
early 2014 and January 2020, she issued approximately 198 unauthorized
checks drawn on St. Paul’s operating account to pay for various personal items and services, including personal credit card payments, utilities, and
living expenses. She further admitted that she routinely accessed St. Paul’s
operating account online and made several unauthorized transfers from that
account to pay her personal expenses. Bralley admitted that she embezzled
approximately $451,177.54 from St. Paul.
In addition to admitting to the wire fraud, Bralley admitted that on March 14,
2019, she signed under penalty of perjury a 2018 U.S. Individual Income Tax
Return, Form 1040, that she then filed with the Internal Revenue Service. She
admitted that the return was false because she only reported total income
of $61,189.00, but she knew she had received substantial income in 2018
related to the money she embezzled from St. Paul that she did not report on
her tax return.
At sentencing, Bralley faces up to 20 years in prison for the wire fraud
charge and up to 3 years in prison for the tax charge.
