A 58-year-old southwest
Oklahoma City man was taken
into custody by Canadian
County deputies at a fireworks
stand near Mustang after he
thought he was meeting a
15-year-old girl he found online
there.
Four counts of soliciting
sexual conduct of a minor, and
one count of lewd and indecent
proposals or acts to a child
were filed in Canadian County
District Court June 21 against
Michael Robert Dubala. The
crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to 10 years or
a fine of up to $10,000, or both.
Little did Dubala know he was online soliciting sex with a
Canadian County deputy instead of an underage Mustang
girl.
According to reports, he had been chatting with the
“girl” for about two weeks and asked her to meet him at
Fireworks City USA where he thought she worked. He told
her not to wear any underwear, but he would give her $10
to buy a pair he wanted her to put on before they had sex.
Sheriff’s deputies boxed in Dubala’s car at the scene
when he knew he had been caught and tried to escape. He
allegedly confessed his crime to deputies and had a $10 bill
in his pocket.
Dubala was taken into custody and transported to the
Canadian County Jail. His bond was set at $125,000 and
ordered to return to court August 15.

A Yukon couple was convicted of child abuse and neglect June
18 in what assistant district attorney Paul Hesse called “the most
severe case of abuse” he’d ever seen. According to testimony heard
in court, John and Sonja Kluth, both 58, routinely beat, choked and
burned their 10, 13, and 16-year-old adopted children.
The Yukon couple were charged Feb. 22 with child abuse and neglect after they tortured the three children they had adopted - beating
them, burning them, locking them in cages and feeding them dog
food.
Sonja Kluth, who according to Hesse was the chief abuser, was a
hotel manager and John Kluth worked in the postal service.
Their sentencing is set for July 24. The jury has recommended
that Sonja Kluth be sentenced to 25 years each
for two counts of abuse
and three counts of neglect, and life for the
abuse of the 16-yearold. John Kluth, convicted of three counts of
abuse and two counts of
neglect, faces 1o years
for each count.

Marchette
Jamison Marchette, a 41-year-old Oklahoma man was jailed after he
allegedly left sex toys and porn materials on two women’s doors, prowled
around their apartments and peeped through a woman’s back door.
According to police, two Oklahoma City women were freaked out when
they discovered bags on their front doors that contained sex toys, porn
videos and other obscene materials.
Investigators called to the scene discovered footprints and other evidence that someone had been prowling around the women’s apartment
residences.
A strange man who called himself “Jamie” reportedly contacted one of
the victims and told her that he had seen a “brown-skinned male” walking
around their apartments taking photographs.
About a week after the incidents, one woman found Marchette close enough to her patio door
to “fog it up when he would breath,” according to the arrest report. When the woman opened the
door, Marchette reportedly fled the porch and hid behind a cluster of bushes.
Detectives took the items left behind and had them analyzed for fingerprints. A set of prints
lifted from the items were traced to Marchette.
A woman was also able to identify Marchette as the man who knocked on her door and identified himself as “Jamie.”
Marchette was booked into jail and charged with two counts of distribution of obscene materials and one count of loitering around the residence to watch an occupant.

Remember catching fireflies in jars? Taking a nature walk?
Watching a huge thunderstorm roll in? Hearing the bubbling of a
stream you could not see? God’s creation speaks of His majesty and
our hearts learn to sing of His praise.
In an age when a click of a finger can open up hours of media entertainment for our children, it can be tempting to tune out. Pulling
away from the television and taking your children on a walk may
put you behind on housework, but it can prepare them to praise the
Most High!
Take the time to share the joy of nature with your children, and
tell them of His wonders.
Psalm 9:1, 2 NLT
“I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the
marvelous things you have done. I will be filled with joy because of
you. I will sing praises to your name, O Most High.”

Gilbert Postelle
An Oklahoma County
judge sentenced Gilbert
Postelle to death for the
murder of two people
on Memorial Day
2005. Postelle also was
sentenced to two terms
of life in prison plus 10
years for conspiracy in
the slayings of four people
at an Oklahoma City
trailer house. Postelle,
who said nothing during his sentencing hearing,
showed no emotion when the judge set a December
2008 execution date. That date was essentially
meaningless because all death penalty cases are
appealed automatically. Postelle, 22, was convicted
by a jury on Sept. 9, 2008, of killing James “Donnie”
Swindle Jr., Amy Wright, Terry Smith and James
Alderson. Two days later, the Oklahoma County
jury that heard evidence in the case decided Postelle
should die for killing Wright and Alderson and
spend the rest of his life in prison without the
possibility of parole for killing Swindle and Smith.

An El Reno man was arrested June
25 for thinking he could get away with
stealing items from a store just because
he knew the girl who worked there.
Joshua Spurgin, 31, was charged June
11 with larceny of merchandise from
a retailer in Canadian County District
Court.
According to the affidavit, Spurgin
went into the Dollar General on Sunset
Drive, picked up several items in the
store and stuffed them in his shirt. The
clerk told police he had come into the store wearing a loosefitting shirt, but when he was leaving, she could see that his
shirt was a little lumpy.
The clerk told him he could not steal things from the store
while she was on duty, but he kept going toward the door. Just
about that time, another customer that the clerk knew came
through the door. When he figured out what was going on, he
grabbed Spurgin in an attempt to stop him and they began to
struggle. During the bout, Spurgin’s knee hit the glass door,
shattering it.
The clerk also told police she could see movies inside
Spurgin’s shirt during the skirmish.
The man who tried to detain Spurgin told officers that he
could not detain Spurgin, but instead grabbed Spurgin’s wallet
out of his back pocket.
Spurgin is no stranger to police. They have had several
previous dealings with him in the past stealing meat from
stores in El Reno.
Just a few short weeks after the Dollar General incident, he
was charged and arrested again for concealing two sets of miniblinds and a 6-foot ladder stolen from a home back in May.

unsolved cases
On Jan. 15, 1977, the nude body
of 20 year-old Bernice Kuhlman
was found in Polecat Creek near
the bridge at 10300 S. 33 W. Ave.
in Tulsa. Kuhlman was last seen by
friends the night of Jan. 14, 1977. The
State Medical Examiners Offi ce ruled
the manner of death as Homicide,
cause of death being strangulation.
Bernice Kuhlman’s case remains
unsolved.
In each Homicide case, the victim
can no longer speak for themselves.
We must act as their voice, seeking justice on their behalf. The
truth about each case is out there; someone knows who committed
murder. Detectives need your help to solve these cases. If you
have any information please contact the Tulsa County Sheriff’s
Offi ce Criminal Investigations Unit at (918) 596-8669 or (918)
596-8661.
There are a lot of situations where slang is a Bernice Kuhlman
bad idea; and asking for “dough” at a pizza joint is
certainly a good example. Funny enough though,
the robbers who made off with a bagful of dough
weren’t even victims of a bad pun, they were just
stupid enough to point to a bag behind the counter without verifying that the bag held money instead of pizza ingredients. The moral of the story
is that when holding someone up, you’re much
better off asking them to hand over the cash than
simply pointing to a random bag in the store.
“That’s not mine” just might be one of the oldest excuses in the book when it comes to illicit
substances. While plenty of suspects have tried
to say their drug stash belonged to their friends,
most of them weren’t stupid enough to say it
about crack in their butt crack. Even if it was his
friend’s crack, it certainly was under his “control”
at the time of the arrest, and that’s all that really
matters.
There’s a reason real drug dealers have such a
vicious reputation to uphold. After all, if someone takes their supply, it’s not like they can just
call the police. Amateur drug cultivators aren’t
always hip to these rules, which is why it’s not
entirely surprising that a small-time marijuana
grower called the police when someone stole one
of his prized plants. The police responded to the
crime immediately –by confi scating his four remaining plants.
Robbing a store is a big gamble. Aside from the
risk of getting caught, there’s also a risk that there
won’t be much money in the register at the time.
If you lose that gamble and end up only getting
$586 in the hold up (which is actually pretty decent for a Wendy’s), you probably shouldn’t call
the store to complain. One man learned this the
hard way after police tracked him down when
he called a second time to tell the workers they’d
better have more money in the register the next
time he robs them.
stupid criminals

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma
Department of Human Services to impact the huge social
problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the
child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts
order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
It’s ALL about the KIDS!
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they have a chance at a
productive life. Children have the right to get support from both parents and do not
lose this right when a parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children, taxpayers often pay the cost
of raising children. When children receive public assistance and their parents pay no
child support, all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

Oklahomans who’ve had their homes
and other property damaged in the latest round of storms need to be cautious
when it comes to hiring someone to
make roofing repairs. Failing to check
out a roofer’s credentials could leave
property owners out thousands of dollars with little or nothing to show for it.
Senator Dan Newberry, Chairman
of the Senate Business and Commerce
Committee, authored the 2010 Roofing Contractor Registration Act to require roofers to register with the Oklahoma Construction Industries
Board (CIB). In the wake of the state’s most recent round of hail
storms, he’s urging citizens to take advantage of this law to avoid
being ripped-off.
“Before contracting with a roofer, you need to make sure they have
a CIB number. This verifies that the roofing company has met the requirements to be licensed for business in Oklahoma, including proof
of liability insurance, workers comp insurance and other qualifications,” said Newberry, R-Tulsa. “You can verify the company’s registration by calling the CIB directly or by going to their website.”
Newberry said fly-by-night roofers often flock to a state after
storms cause extensive property damage. Some of those roofers demand partial or full payment up front, but never complete the work.
He said the Roofing Contractor Registration Act gives consumers a
way to avoid disreputable companies.
“The whole idea is to make it easier to find out who is legitimate
and who isn’t,” Newberry said. “In addition to verifying CIB registration, it’s never a bad idea to check with friends and neighbors about
any recommendations they may have, as well as the Better Business
Bureau. Taking just a little bit of time to ensure you are dealing with
a reputable roofer is well worth the effort.”
To verify if a roofer is registered to do business in Oklahoma, call
the CIB at 405-521-6550, or toll-free at 877-484-4424. You can also
verify registration online at http://cibverify.ok.gov/

As gas prices have risen,
many people have turned to
alternative methods of travel from
automobiles. The most common
one is a bicycle.
There are also many bicyclist enthusiasts that ride for pleasure, as
is evidenced by the number of bicycle events across the state, as well
as the number of bicycle clubs that can be found. Since motorists
share the road with them, I’m going to share some tips for the safe
operation of bicycles, and some of the rules everyone should know!
First, wear a helmet! This one is just common sense. It is a fact that
helmets help prevent serious injury resulting from bicycle accidents.
Next, its important to note Oklahoma State Statute 47-11-1202,
which states: Every person riding a bicycle or motorized scooter upon
a roadway shall be granted all of the rights and shall be subject to all
of the duties applicable to the driver of a vehicle by this title, except as
to special regulations in this article and except to those provisions of
this title which by their nature can have no application. Simply put,
bicyclists are entitled to the road just like vehicles, and have to abide
by the same laws, with a few extras.
One of these extras is that bicyclists must ride as close as is safe
to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway, except under certain
conditions. Some of those conditions are when overtaking or passing
another conveyance going the same direction, when preparing for or
making a left hand turn, when necessary to avoid certain conditions
such as moving or fixed objects, parked or moving vehicles,
pedestrians or animals, surface hazards, and a few other reasons. A
complete list of the exceptions can be found in Oklahoma State
Statute 47-11-1205. That statute also states that bicyclists may only
ride two abreast except on paths or roadways set aside exclusively
for bicycle use. The majority of problems that arise from bicyclists
has to do with riding more than two abreast, inhibiting the ability of
vehicles to pass large groups. Also, on multi-laned roads, they must
ride within a single lane. Another thing to know is that bicyclists
can’t pass between vehicles on multi-laned roadways.
Not only do bicyclists have some extra rules to follow, but vehicles
have a duty in regards to bicyclists sharing the road. When a vehicle
is overtaking and passing bicycles going in the same direction, they
must leave a safe distance between the vehicle and bicycle of no
less than three feet until the vehicle is safely past the bicycle. The
majority of complaints from bicyclists about vehicles is that vehicles
pass far too closely to the bicyclists. Adhering to this safe distance is
a must for the safety of all!
The best way for bicycles and vehicles to safely share the road is for
the operators to respect the rights of each other. As always, thanks
for reading, buckle up and be safe!

CRACKED TURTLE LANDS CITY MAN IN JAIL
Oklahoma City police arrest a metro man for assaulting a
turtle.
Neighbors in Southwest Oklahoma City apparently called
police after seeing Derrick Peace pick up the tortoise and
throw it into the street. It landed with so much force, it’s shell
cracked.
Police say the turtle was taken to the Oklahoma City Zoo so
it could recover.
Peace faces an animal cruelty charge.
What you’re saying
about this on...
Brandy B: Wow...jerk!!!
Julie W: He’s not fit to live among the
public! Disgusting!!! So glad someone saw it
& he was arrested!
Jennifer I: Lol seriously?! I like turtles
but r we gonna start chasing people that run
turtles over on purpose? Come on!
Candis M: Disgusting! People like him
make me sick!
Lindsay W: Seriously? We are putting
people in jail for this? Do they have proof
that he did it? Eye witnesses aren’t even good
enough when you beat your children!! I agree
it wasn’t the best idea to hurt the innocent
animal, but JAIL?? What’s wrong with this
picture, people????
Susan W: Why would anyone even want
to do something like that? Freak!
Misty L: This guy is such a pathetic piece
of trash, I’d rather he hurt himself than a
helpless animal. Absolutely worthless.
Susan K: Sicko. Humans will probably be
his next victims.
Christy M: but seriously put the man in
jail for throwing a turtle wow
D Ariana H: Wish i could throw that ugly
man id crack his shell! People like him dont
deserve to be here...makes me sick!
Sad to see a guy with “Little Man Complex”
taking it out on a turtle. If you aren’t planning on eating it, don’t try to kill it......
Robert H: Sad to see a guy with “Little
Man Complex” taking it out on a turtle. If
you aren’t planning on eating it, don’t try to
kill it......
Rachel B: They do say early signs of becoming a psycho growing up is abusing animals, maybe its a good idea that he’s in jail.
Better a turtle than a human if I must say.
Amanda L: What a freaking idiot! He had
nothing better to do so he decided to crack
the only thing that keeps that poor turtle
safe? Shame.
Larry T: cellmate: So, what didja do? Mr.
Peace : I BEAT UP A TURTLE! cellmate: oh...
Susan R: I’m not a animal rights fanatic
by any means, but someone who will hurt an
animal just to see pain is a disturbed individual. Most serial killers started out hurting
animals before moving on to humans. And
then to hurt something as innocuous as a
turtle.....
Natalie P: OMG!! It’s a damn turtle people.... a turtle really!! So I take you guys think
we should go to jail now for harming animals?? Deer, snakes, cows, squirrel.. they’ve
all been harmed so you people can eat... how
ya know the turtle wasn’t vicious and bit the
guy?? Smdh....
Chris C: I’m sure if it were a successful looking white man ---^ these comments
wouldn’t be so harsh about throwing a turtle.
I guess they coulda cited the turtle for trespassing.
Linda M: Dumb a** !! At least he will
charged. Why are some.people mean and.
stupid? Dangerous combination. Pray he has
NO children.
Colby B: Its a damn turtle not a person.
Write him a ticket or something and put him
in jail if he does it again. Justice system is so
screwed up.
Terry L: Throw his a** in the road, crack
his skull, and take him to the zoo for a quick
recovery!
Shawna S: Dang, are they gonna come
lock me up for cutting a snakes head off if its
found slithering through my yard?!? Guess I
better start calling ACO to come get them. I
agree that he did wrong, but where do you
draw the line?? He shouldn’t be wasting my
tax dollars sitting in jail while rapist and
child molesters/abusers walk free bc of overcrowding in the jails!!
If you have any information on the whereabouts of these
individuals, please contact your local sheriffs department

A inmate at the Blaine County Jail
is facing a little longer stay after he
attacked his cellmate for stealing his
food- notably, pork rinds.
Thomas Whitlock, 42, was charged
with a misdemeanor count of assault
and battery and petit larceny to go along
with the other assault and battery charge
he was already in jail for.
According to the affidavit, Deputy
Shane Moore was called to the Blaine
County Sheriff’s Office where the jailer informed him there had
been an altercation at the jail between Whitlock and another
inmate.
Moore interviewed the victim and he said he was lying down
in his cell while Whitlock was eating his pork rinds without
permission. Then, suddenly, Whitlock punched him in the
back while he was laying down.
Surveillance video taken inside the cell showed the inmate
was telling the truth.
Whitlock’s bond was set at $5000.

A relaxing Saturday evening at the lake
turned into a nightmare after a couple
visiting Canton Lake was arrested for public
intox. He went peacefully, she did not.
Blaine County Sheriff’s Deputy Tony Pitt
was dispatched to Canton Lake Canadian
boat dock June 16 on a disturbance call,
but when he arrived, the perpetrators had
already left the area and gone to the dam
boat dock.
Pitt made his way to the dock and found
Samuel Long, 50, and asked if he had been
involved in the disturbance. Long explained
he and his girlfriend, Sherry Foos, 40, had been drinking, but he left
because “she was crazy drunk.”
Pitt performed a field sobriety test on Long, which he failed, and
Pitt arrested him.
About that time, Foos walked up to them, highly intoxicated, and
very loud and belligerent. Her speech was slurred and very profane,
and she reeked of booze. Pitt then placed her under arrest for public
intox.
Both Long and Foos were placed in the patrol car, Long in the front
seat and Foos in the back. Pitt drove only a block when Foos started
her antics. She managed to get out of her seatbelt and handcuffs, and
when Pitt stopped the car to restrain her, she began fighting with him.
He then called for backup and the calvary arrived shortly thereafter.
Foos was wrestled into another unit with a cage and she really
went crazy. When they finally got her to the jail, she was kicking and
screaming and had to be forcibly removed from the car.
Inside, she seemed to calm down and complained her wrist hurt. She
was taken to the Watonga hospital to get checked out, but when they
got there, she was again totally uncooperative and began screaming
and cursing at the nurses. Foos refused treatment, so they wrestled
her back into the truck and headed back to the jail. On the way, she
kicked off the truck’s rear view mirror and GPS, then tried to jump out
of the truck. She was finally restrained and taken to the jail where she
was placed in the drunk tank.
She was later charged with malicious injury to property under
$1000 and public intox.

An 18-year-old man was arrested July
10 after it was discovered he allegedly took
a county tractor and grader joyriding in
Geary.
Formal felony charges were filed June
28 against Oran Gene Bloxham for seconddegree burglary, two counts of unauthorized
use of a motor vehicle, and two counts of
malicious injury to property under $2500 in
Blaine County District Court.
Deputy Randall Jacobson said a tip
through the Geary Police Department led
them to Bloxham.
An affidavit filed in the case by Jacobson states that on the night
of June 14, at about 3:00 a.m., Bloxham allegedly climbed over the
fence of the District 1 Blaine County Commissioners Yard, got on a
John Deere tractor inside the yard and plowed through the fence.
After he was done with the tractor, he got on a John Deere road
grader and drove around, also causing damage.
Jacobson said the tractor and grader sustained damage in the
incident, along with the fence and the nearby railroad tracks. Total
amount of all damages was about $2800.
Bloxham’s initial appearance is scheduled for July 19 at 1:00 p.m.
