Mark Alan French, 48, of
Tahlequah, pled guilty May
25 to prohibited person in
possession of firearm, punishable by not more than 10
years imprisonment, up to
$250,000 fine or both.
The Indictment alleged
that from on or about January 2, 2016, French, having
been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, did knowingly possess in and affecting commerce, firearms which had been
shipped and transported in interstate commerce.
The charges arose from an investigation by the Stilwell Police Department, the Adair County Sheriff’s Department and
the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
The court accepted French’s plea and ordered the completion of a pre-sentence investigation report. He will remain
in the custody of the United States Marshal Service pending
sentencing.

The term “outgunned” doesn’t quite do this story justice. Derrick Mosley strolled into
a discount gun store with a baseball bat, smashed a glass display case and tried to steal
a firearm. Yes, he tried to rob a gun shop with a baseball bat. What happened next? The
manager pulled out a gun of his own, pointed it at Derrick and kept him in the crosshairs
until the police arrived. Don’t be too hard on yourself Derrick. Guns in a gun store? Nobody could have anticipated that.
A customer at Applebee’s handed a waitress her own stolen driver’s license in an attempt to order alcohol. The culprit was a 26-year-old woman, so she didn’t need to use
a fake ID to buy her margarita anyway, but we’ll set that aside. Kudos to the waitress,
who remained calm, told the customer she was off to get her drink and called the police
instead.
Getaway cars are just for the movies. Real criminals use getaway donkeys. A trio of
Columbian robbers in the exotic sounding town Juan de Acosta loaded stolen rum, rice,
tuna and sardines onto Xavi, a 10-year-old donkey. It was all going to plan, but then the
donkey starting “heehawing”. Loudly. The racket alerted police to the robbery and the
burglars ran.
A would-be lumberjack was casually strolling down a suburban street with an axe in
hand when he happened across a bike, which was chained around a tree. The axeman
wanted to acquire this bike for himself. So he started to chop down the tree, blissfully
oblivious to the stares of passers-by. The bemused spectators chased him away several
times, but the lumberjack was determined. After a period of about seven minutes, he
managed to fell the tree. Unfortunately, the thief was chased away again before he could
claim his prize.
Joey Miller and Matthew McNelly concocted an ingenious disguise before trying to
break into an apartment. Well, we use the term “ingenious” very loosely. Matthew and
Joey spurned more traditional disguises like masks or balaclavas, instead choosing to
draw on their own faces with permanent markers. Here’s the thing about permanent
marker. It’s extremely difficult to erase. So when the pair was pulled over by police after
the bungled break-in, they were easily recognizable. The stunt earned Joey and Matthew the nickname “dumb and dumber”

Broken Arrow man Rolando Allen Ramos, 31,
is in trouble after he allegedly shot a man during a
road rage incident on May 14.
According to the police report, a Broken Arrow
officer was dispatched to the 20200 block of East
41st Street at approximately 2:55 a.m. A man at
the scene asserted he had been shot by a man
driving a red SUV.
The victim told police he was driving eastbound
on 41st Street approaching 193rd East Avenue
when he said an SUV driving “erratically” being
him. He said the driver in the SUV tried to pass
him in a no passing zone, nearly running him off
the road.
East of the intersection at 193rd and 41st,
the victim came to a stop. The suspect vehicle
stopped behind him, and he went to see what was going on. He approached
the SUV and asked the driver, “What are you doing?”
The driver then allegedly pulled out a gun, shooting two to three times. He hit
the victim in the left side of his face. The suspect then sped away from the scene.
The victim told police he didn’t realize he had been shot in the face, until he
returned to his vehicle and his passenger saw the gunshot wound.
He later positively identified Ramos as the culprit from a photo lineup.
The victim’s passenger told the officer the same account of events. He said the
suspect was driving like a madman, cutting others off and nearly running them
off the road. When the suspect stopped behind their vehicle, the victim went to
go see what he was doing. The passenger then heard two gunshots. When the
victim returned to the vehicle, he had been shot in the face.
Ramos’ boss told police that his employee came to work on May 16, acting
nervous. The suspect told him that he had been in a road rage incident over the
weekend, and he had shot someone.
The boss also confirmed that Ramos drove a red SUV.
Ramos is being charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon and
transporting loaded firearm in motor vehicle. He was released on a $100,000
bond, and he is scheduled to appear in court on June 15, 2016.

A Facebook post led to the arrest
of 21-year-old Colt Jeremiah Watkins
after multiple people saw his picture
and told police the Sallisaw man was
the suspect.
On May 13, shortly after 8 a.m.,
a Sallisaw officer was advised that
guns had been stolen from several
vehicles the night before. Surveillance footage captured the suspect
on video walking on Dogwood Street.
Police put a picture of the man on
their Facebook page and it didn’t take long before they had
the identity of the culprit.
According to the affidavit, they were advised by multiple
Facebook followers that the suspect was Watkins. Police
were able to learn more about the burglaries by 9:30 a.m.
With the public’s help, officers learned that the man’s burglary spree started on Quail Ridge Road at approximately
12:30 a.m. Witnesses said Watkins had a camo-colored
gun in his possession that positively matched on of the guns
reported missing. He also reportedly bragged and laughed
about stealing the firearm and two pistols from other vehicles.
Officers had received reports for two stolen pistols that
week.
When officers approached Watkins about the incident, he
admitted to stealing the guns, as well as some change and
a backpack from several vehicles in the neighborhood. He
was placed under arrest and booked into jail.
Watkins is being charged with four counts of burglary in
the second degree and possession of firearm after former
felony conviction. He is scheduled to appear in court on
June 26, 2016.

An L.A. gang member, Nazario Conchuza
Gonzalez, who is part of the infamous Ms-13
gang, also called Mara Salvatrucha, has died of
medical complications after attempting to gold
plate his own genitals to celebrate his 21st
birthday.
The young man that is originally from El Salvador and is an active member of the MS-13
crime family is believed to have attempted to
gold plate his own genitals with a professional
automotive gold plater stolen from a local garage after first painting his genitals with a leadbased paint, believe experts.
The 21-year old man who was allegedly a
fan of the 2002 American comedy movie Goldmember, which is a loose parody of the James Bond films Goldfinger, had taken the
Spanish nickname of “Pelotas de oro”, or golden testicles, before attempting to gold
plate his own genitals to his ultimate demise.
Dr Ian Joseffson of the Los Angeles Community Hospital warns of a growing trend
within gang members to attempt the “deadly operation”.
“This is the third case this year, but we have had many occurrences in hospitals in
the region these past years. It seems to be a growing trend within the gang member
community” he told reporters.
“I have no idea where this idea comes from but plating one’s own genitals will only
ultimately end in serious medical complications or even death, as we have seen in this
case” he explained.
Some experts believe the tradition might find it’s roots in prehistoric Mesoamerican
cultures, such as the Mayas who painted parts of their bodies with gold paint to empower themselves and as an offering to the gods.

Shona Marie Holland, 25, of Stilwell, was convicted after entering a blind plea, and was sentenced to
an 25-year prison sentence, all but first seven years
suspended, in Adair County Case No. CF-2015-70.
Holland had been charged by information of one
count of child neglect on March 25, 2015.
According to the district attorney’s office, on or
about March 2, 2015, Holland was eating at a Mexican restaurant and the waitress at the restaurant saw
bruising’s on the child, which was 11 months old at
the time.
After cops were called to the scene and the child
was examined by medical personnel, it was found
that the child had fractures of the bones in the arm
and legs, a severe burn on her left ankle, and multiple
bruises on her body.
Holland, the mother of the child, never took the child to the doctor to have the
child’s injuries checked on.
Holland’s sentence is to be served in the custody and control of Oklahoma Department of Corrections.

led to the development of the Code
Adam Program.
On July 27, 1981,
6-year-old Adam
Walsh was abducted from a Sears department store in Florida. His decapitated head was found 16 days later. Named
in his honor, the Code Adam Program helps ensure that
children are recovered safely and quickly if they are lost in
stores by having employees announce “Code Adam” warnings along with the child’s description over their intercom
systems to alert patrons to be on the lookout for lost children. First implemented by Wal-Mart in the 1990s, today,
hundreds of retail chains participate in the Code Adam Program and as of 2003, “The Code Adam Act” requires that
all federal facilities participate. Adam’s father, John Walsh,
who helped pass these laws, continues to be an outspoken
advocate for missing children.

Smith
Samantha Lee Smith, 21, of Muskogee, pled guilty
to drug conspiracy in federal court on June 2, a crime
punishable by not less than 10 years or more than life
imprisonment, up to a $10,000,000 fine or both.
The superseding indictment alleged that beginning in
or about the end of 2013, the exact date being unknown
to the Grand Jury, and continuing until on or about January 27, 2016, Smith and others did knowingly and intentionally conspire, confederate and agree with each other,
and with others known and unknown to the Grand Jury,
to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute 500
grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a
detectable amount of methamphetamine, a Schedule II
controlled substance.
The Investigation revealed that Cody McClendon, an
Indian Brotherhood (IBH) gang member, while an inmate
with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections in McAlester, was utilizing a contraband cellular phone that he kept hidden on his person and inside
his prison cell to facilitate the sale and distribution of methamphetamine. McClendon was
doing this by using the cellular phone to communicate with co-conspirators via phone calls,
text messages, and by communicating on the social media website Facebook.
Smith was a methamphetamine distributor as well as a drug and money courier for the
organization.
The charges arose from a joint investigation by the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, the
Tahlequah Police Department, the Muskogee Police Department, the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The investigation was coordinated by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force
(OCDETF) of the Eastern District of Oklahoma. OCDETF is an initiative led, and coordinated
by the Office of the United States Attorney.
The Honorable Kimberly E. West, Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court
for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted the defendant’s guilty plea, and ordered the
completion of a pre-sentence report. Sentencing will be scheduled upon its completion.
Smith will remain in the custody of the United States Marshal Service pending sentencing.
