An Enid woman faces felony charges after she snuck drugs
and paraphernalia into a courtroom and then into the Garfield
County Jail.
Amy Leigh Holder, 25, was charged with possession of CDS
and paraphernalia in Garfield County District Court.
On May 2, Holder was a no-show for a court appearance on
misdemeanor charges of driving while under suspension and
larceny of merchandise from a retailer. When she was later
brought into court by deputies on a warrant, little did they know
at the time she was hiding a secret in her coat.
After her court appearance, Holder was taken to jail for booking. As she was being processed, Holder declared she had to go
to the bathroom “really bad.” When she finished and returned to
the booking area, jail staff did a pat-down search while she removed her face piercings. She
then stood up from a stool she was sitting on and deputies spotted a black bag which contained a set of digital scales, plastic baggies, a plastic spoon, scissors, and straws.
A more detailed search of Holder revealed a coin purse in the shape of a sock with seven
clear bags inside. The white crystalline substance in the baggies tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the affidavit.
Holder was released May 6 after posing a $15,000 bond.

Two people were taken into custody after an observant officer discovered drugs
and a gun in their vehicle.
Jessica Vasquez, 22, was charged with
possession of CDS and DUS, and Richard
Proctor, 31, was charged with possession
of a firearm after a former felony conviction.
According to the police affidavit, Officer Antonio Moreno was patrolling the
area of 5th and Maine just after midnight
that morning when he spotted a Mitsubishi with its tag light out. He flipped on his
emergency lights and followed the car to
the Sav-a-Lot’s parking lot. While he was
following the car, he saw a white object
tossed from the driver’s side window.
The driver, Vasquez, held a suspended
driver’s license and was placed under arrest. She could not tell Moreno who owned
the car.
During an inventory of the car, Moreno
found drugs and a gun where the passenger, Proctor, was sitting. Both Vasquez
and Proctor denied ownership of the
items.
At the jail, Proctor told Vasquez to claim her “s**t, so she told
Moreno the drugs were hers, but after she was separated from Proctor, she denied the drugs were hers and was not claiming ownership.
Moreno went back to the spot where he saw the item tossed from
the car’s window and found a small baggie, which later tested positive for meth.
All-in-all, Vasquez and Proctor had 94 grams of meth and 14 grams
of marijuana in their possession.
Vasquez’s bond was set at $50,000, and Proctor’s bond was set at
$250,000.

Stupid Criminals
A woman in Virginia called the police after returning home and
finding her Crock Pot empty of the chicken she had put in earlier.
Instead of assuming she had neglected to start cooking it in the first
place, the woman very intelligently decided that someone had broken
in and stolen it. Yes, snatched a half-raw chicken from a boiling Crock
Pot. There was no sign of forced entry, but the woman did not own
any pets that could’ve been the culprits. Anyway, nobody had dinner
that night.
A Florida man clearly has a soft spot for manatees. When he and
his two young daughters took a trip to Taylor Creek, he spotted one.
Clearly thrilled, he put up pictures on Facebook of his daughters
riding and petting a baby manatee. Someone who saw the pictures
contacted the authorities, and the man was arrested for violating the
Florida Manatee Sanctuary Act. As if Florida is having a hard time
finding things to arrest people for…
An 11-year-old in Spain staged a fake kidnapping just to avoid a
parent-teacher conference. He sent a text message to his father alerting him that he’d been kidnapped while taking out the trash. His father just happens to be police officer, who sent out a search all the
way into Portugal. It turns out that the little actor was just hiding out
at another house his family owned. Needless to say, the conference
never happened.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

Answer: The first thing to
understand in this discussion
is that there is only one race—
the human race. Caucasians,
Africans, Asians, Indians, Arabs,
and Jews are not different
races. Rather, they are different
ethnicities of the human race.
All human beings have the same
physical characteristics (with
minor variations, of course).
More importantly, all human
beings are created in the image
and likeness of God (Genesis
1:26-27). God loved the world so
much that He sent Jesus to lay
down His life for us (John 3:16).
The “world” obviously includes all ethnic groups.
God does not show partiality or favoritism (Deuteronomy 10:17; Acts 10:34;
Romans 2:11; Ephesians 6:9), and neither should we. James 2:4 describes
those who discriminate as “judges with evil thoughts.” Instead, we are to love
our neighbors as ourselves (James 2:8). All forms of racism, prejudice, and
discrimination are affronts to the work of Christ on the cross.
Jesus commands us to love one another as He loves us (John 13:34). If God is
impartial and loves us with impartiality, then we need to love others with that
same high standard. Jesus teaches in Matthew 25 that whatever we do to the
least of His brothers, we do to Him. If we treat a person with contempt, we are
mistreating a person created in God’s image; we are hurting somebody whom
God loves and for whom Jesus died.
Racism, in varying forms and to various degrees, has been a plague on humanity
for thousands of years. Brothers and sisters of all ethnicities, this should not be.
Victims of racism, prejudice, and discrimination need to forgive. Ephesians 4:32
declares, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just
as in Christ God forgave you.” Racists may not deserve your forgiveness, but we
deserved God’s forgiveness far less.
What does the Bible say about racism,
prejudice, and discrimination?

What you’re saying
about this on...
Winnie B: The officials must be planning to
run for government office. None others are as
stupid!!!
Haley A: So was he supposed to let the
bear attack him then call for help granted he
should’ve called the wild life people first but
really people he’s 76 like this man means any
harm
Becca W: ridiculous! so the make my day
law protects us from human attack but we
can’t defend ourselves against rampaging
beasts?! wtf!
Kelli O: Crazy!
Elissa T: This is ridiculous-that man was
well within his right to protect himself on
his own property-what the hell is that state
thinking-if i were the officials involved in that
state in this case id be so ASHAMED-so glad
I’m an Okie-that crap wouldn’t happen hereDarla B: OMG!!!
Brandy M: OMG poor old guy
Margaret T: thats crazy leave the man
alone he was in the right!!!!
Tasha T: So now we aren’t even allowed to
defend ourselves with getting arrested???????
Evan W: THATS BULLS**T!!!!!
Ashley N: Omg its a freaking bear... Lol who
cares... ugh...nice going America... yea... lets
choose obama.... one more time... ugh idiots!
Melvin M: Hell saved his Own Life !!
Kevin C: Thats what they get for electing the
liberal idiots is all i can say
Shawna A: Wow just shows how (beeped)
up the government is and let’s start making
BIRD feeder illegal because it leads to
shooting wild animals that are chasing you in
trying to kill you makes me think would the
bear be in jail if he had killed the man????
Sherida E: Omgoodness how crazy he was
protecting hisself.
Amber V: Ridiculous
Michele H: Everyone that lives around
bears knows that birdseed is NOT OK! That
is their favorite food. I guess if you have never
lived with them this may sound stupid. But
I have and this guy sounds stupid to me!
Of course the guy knew. So, yes, it is called
baiting. He is in the bears habitat and has to
take precautions!
John F: That’s is the dumbest thing I have
heard I would have done the same thing
Peewee M: Need to shoot some idiots with
some common sense. Meat is baiting to.
Don’t cook on your grill there. You are just
trying to kill a bear. Damn idiot
John F: He was in his YARD NOT IN THE
BEARS HABITAT 90% of all animal attacks
r done around homes look it up my has bird
feeders so she can watch birds not bears
Brandi M: I never knew bears like BIRD
seed, that ridiculous. The bear could have had
rabies and was attacking him. I’m an animal
person but if it was after me or my familly id
have shot it also. If he really wanted to kill it
he would have put poison in his “bait”.
Kyle T: He walked out knowing the bear was
there, brought a shotgun, he intended to kill
it the whole time. I like how this story makes
him out to be the victim.
A 76-year-old Auburn, Massachusetts man, Richard Ahlstrand,
had spotted a black bear in his backyard around his bird feeders.
He went to fill up his bird feeders, and as a precaution, he took
his shotgun. Sure enough, the black bear showed up and started
to chase the old man. The man aimed his shotgun at the bear
and shot it, killing the bear.
Now he’s facing charges for illegally killing the bear, illegally
baiting the bear, illegal possession of a firearm and failure to
secure a weapon. Because he “murdered” the bear, police confiscated his shotgun as well as
two others he had in his possession. Ahlstrand pointed out the idiocy of his elected officials:
“They got me set up now like I’m some kind of murderer. And then the environmental guy
told me, ‘You should have called me instead of shooting it.’ What was I going to do, say ‘Mister
Bear, would you excuse me please while I go make a phone call?’”
Authorities thought that the bear may have had cubs, but as Ahlstrand hadn’t shot the bear,
he may not be here today. He was sure it would have at least mauled him. Ahlstrand recalled
that the bear was about 7 feet tall when it stood on its hind legs, and he estimated it weighed
around 300 or 400 pounds.
Officials say the man “baited” the bear with birdseed... Because we all know that bird seed is
only used to bait bears.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol
Ever think to yourself, “what an
amazing time we live in?”
Technology is so incredible, that
we take for granted stuff that wasn’t even possible 40 or 50 years
ago. Whether its cell phones, GPS systems, instant information
through the internet or high tech cars, we go through this world with
a wide array of things that make our lives easier. But what happens
when something goes wrong? I’m going to talk about things that
can go wrong, that may leave you on the side of the road, and ways
you can help yourself in these situations.
Its hard to believe that people still run out of gas these days.
Incredibly, it still happens on an almost daily basis. Sometimes, it
is the result of just not paying attention, and sometimes it is the
result of trusting a little too much in the technology that is built into
our automobiles today. All Troopers have heard from a stranded
motorist that their vehicle said they still had 20 more miles until
empty. The fact is, that number is usually generated by past driving
behavior and gas mileage averages, and is not an actual measure of
how much gas is left in the automobile. Do yourself a favor and give
a cushion...start looking to fill up any time you are under a 1/4 tank
of fuel. Also, pay attention to the gas gauge. In the event that you do
run out of gas, be prepared! No matter how high tech your vehicle is
today, its just a big hunk of metal if it runs out of gas! You may want
to carry a small gas can. You certainly want to get your vehicle off
of the roadway to prevent it from being a traffic hazard and putting
yourself and others in danger. If you walk to a gas station, be alert
for traffic. *55 will get you in touch with a local Highway Patrol
Headquarters, but the Trooper may be a long way off, or on a call,
so be prepared to help yourself! Another common problem we run
into is people who need their vehicle jump-started. You may forget
to turn the lights off and park it somewhere, or leave an interior
light on, or anything that may drain the battery.
Carry a set of jumper cables. If you have those, all you’ll need
is another person whose vehicle is running, and you can get yours
going! Make sure to refer to the owner’s manual to make sure how
to hook up the cables properly. As high tech as vehicles are today,
hooking them up wrong could result in further problems!
Ever hear that old saying about and “ounce of prevention”? Keep
up the maintenance on your vehicle. The owner’s manual usually
has a maintenance schedule for your specific vehicle. Old sayings
usually are old because they are tried and true! Thanks for reading,
buckle up, and be safe!

A Red Rock man was taken into custody after he attacked a
pregnant woman and then cut off her ponytail.
Hollis Lieb, 44, was charged April 19 with assault and
battery with a dangerous weapon in Noble County District
Court.
According to the police affidavit, Deputy Joe Ball was
called to a residence in Red Rock in reference to a possible
domestic. When he arrived, he spoke with Lieb who said the
victim was the one who was “going crazy on him.”
Ball drove around town trying to locate the victim, but
couldn’t find her. He decided to call dispatch to see if there
were any updates. Dispatch was on the phone with her and
he went to the address she gave.
The victim said she and Lieb got into an argument which
quickly led to him attacking her. She claimed he hit her three or four times in the face
and threw her to the ground on her stomach, all the while stating he hoped her baby
died. He then got on top of her, grabbed his switch-blade knife out of his pocket and
started cutting off her ponytail. They got to their feet and he grabbed a metal chair and
slammed her on the left forearm.
Lieb and his knife were taken into custody and transported to the Noble County Jail.
Bond was set at $50,000.

False. Children often do not tell for a

A Fairview man was arrested on assault charges after he hit a man with
his car.
Mitchell Howerton, 28, was charged
April 25 with assault and battery with
a dangerous weapon in Major County
District Court.
According to the police affidavit,
Deputy Nick Holeman was called to
a vehicle versus man hit and run. The
victim said after he was hit, he got
into his vehicle and chased Howerton,
sometimes reaching speeds of around
100 mph.
Holdeman and Deputy Travis Sheets chased Howerton down a
dead-end road off Highway 60. Holdeman drew his service weapon and ordered Howerton to the ground, which he complied.
Howerton reeked of booze as he explained what had happened
earlier. He said he found an injured dog at a friend’s house and
was taking it to get help. He got lost and drove into a pasture.
When he attempted to turn around, a man jumped on his car
and broke his windshield wiper. He didn’t stop because he didn’t
trust people and was worried about the dog. Holdeman replied he
needed to be more worried about the man he just ran over than
the dog.
The victim said he saw Howerton drive into his pasture, so he
decided to wait for him until he came out. When Howerton finally
exited the property, he hit the victim as he left. Holdeman saw
what looked like road rash all over the victim.
Sheets found the injured puppy in Howerton’s car and took it
to a Fairview veterinarian. Except for an old infected wound, the
pooch was reportedly doing well.
As for Howerton, he pleaded not guilty to the charge and his
bond was set at $100,000. He is awaiting his next court appearance on May 16.

An armed bank robbery in
Melbourne, Fla., was cut short
when the robber seemed to become a bit mesmerized by the
blonde teller, allowing her an
opportunity to grab his gun.
According to Melbourne police, the man walked into the
Florida Business Bank on Harbor Blvd at around 2:50 p.m.,
pulled a gun from his pants
and demanded cash from the
teller.
The teller complied with the
robber’s demands and placed an undisclosed sum of cash on the counter.
When the robber set his gun on the counter to collect the cash, the teller quickly snatched
it up without hesitation. The robber grabbed what cash he could, stuck it in a bag and fled
from the bank on a bicycle.
