Spiro woman Shelia Coker, 50,
was locked up for public intox after
she allegedly showed up at her cousin’s residence and started causing
problems on November 25.
According to the police report, a LeFlore County deputy was dispatched
to a residence in the 21500 block of
AES Road in Spiro at approximately
10 p.m. to investigate a disturbance
that had just occurred.
The caller told dispatch that his
cousin, identified as Coker, came to
his residence earlier that evening and
told him her truck had a flat tire. When
the woman started causing problems, the man said he told her
that she wasn’t welcome in his home, and she needed to leave.
Apparently, Coker didn’t want to leave. The victim said Coker
slapped his leg and told him she would kill him if he called the police on her. She also started yelling and screaming obscenities.
When the man retreated to get a baseball bat, he said she took
off running into some bushes near his house.
On the way to the scene, the deputy saw Coker walking northbound on AES Road. When he detained her for officer safety,
she started talking about what had happened at the residence
he was headed to. She said she was riding with her friend when
the vehicle broke down. So, she walked to her cousin’s house for
some help, but he told her she needed to leave.
Coker said she left her cousin’s house without any kind of argument or confrontation.
While the woman was talking, the deputy noticed she smelled
like alcohol. She admitted to drinking a couple of whiskeys earlier
that evening, but when he told her what the victim reported, she
yelled, “Everyone inside that house are liars!”
The deputy located Coker’s vehicle on the roadway near the
victim’s residence -- it didn’t have a flat tire like she had claimed.
Coker said she was only riding in the vehicle with her friend, but
she wasn’t sure where he went.
A records check revealed the woman also had a misdemeanor
warrant for a prior assault and battery.
Coker is being charged with public intoxication. Her bond was
set at $1,000, and she was scheduled to appear in court on
December 9, 2016.

A Palm Beach Gardens man is facing charges that he pointed a gun at another motorist during a road rage incident, according to an arrest report.
If the accusation proves true, then Jack Michael Haberkorn picked the
wrong victim.
The person Haberkorn allegedly threatened turned to be an off-duty Palm
Beach Gardens police officer.
Haberkorn, 22, is now facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly
weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, improperly exhibiting a firearm and
possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and is being held
in the Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of $81,000 bail.
The road rage incident took place eastbound on PGA Boulevard and began
when a 2014 Volkswagon Jetta driven by Haberkorn cut in front of the off-duty
officer and “continuously” braked hard, the report said.
The officer said she pulled up along the Jetta and said, “Really … really?”
Haberkorn allegedly responded by reaching down and pointing the weapon
out the window and at the woman while stating, “You better watch who the
[expletive] you’re [expletive] with,” the report said.
The officer alerted police and followed the Jetta until it ran a red light at the
intersection of PGA Boulevard and Lake Victoria Gardens Avenue.
Police tracked down Haberkorn and found a loaded .40-caliber Glock in his
possession as well as Xanax and burglary tools inside his vehicle. The off-duty
officer positively identified Haberkorn as the person who pointed the weapon
at her.
Authorities say an assistant principal at a Tampa area high school ended up
going to a hospital and then to jail after she tried some pot-laced cookies for
her 50th birthday.
Pasco County Sheriff’s spokesman Kevin Doll says Donna Lynch Haff overdosed Monday on cookies made with cannabis oil.
He says the educator’s daughter, 19-year-old Allison Haff, had obtained the
cookies from a co-worker and brought them home after her mother said she
wanted to try marijuana for her 50th.
Doll says both were released from jail that day and that they were charged
with felony possession of a controlled substance.
It’s unclear if the women have retained attorneys.
School district officials say the assistant principal has been placed on administrative leave from her high school in Holiday.
A woman was arrested after she injured her husband with a sword after an
argument over drugs and their relationship, deputies say.
The Clay County Florida Sheriff’s Office responded Nov. 5 to a home in the
1680 block of Baxley Road in Middleburg.
During an argument, Brandi Oberdeck, 25, threw a wrench at Peter Oberdeck and hit him in the thigh, deputies said.
Peter Oberdeck got a sword, caused damage to the home and dropped the
sword, the report said.
CCSO said Brandi Oberdeck grabbed the sword and struck the victim’s
stomach, forearms and right side.
Peter Oberdeck was taken to Orange Park Medical Center for treatment.
Peter and Brandi Oberdeck have been married for about four years.
Deputies said it appears that they were under the influence of alcohol or
drugs. Deputies found two swords inside the home.
Brandi Oberdeck is charged with aggravated battery. CCSO said she was
placed on suicide watch.

A Red Oak man was arrested after he allegedly stole a truck so he could go visit his
girlfriend on November 16.
According to the police report, Red Oak officer were advised that a man in the 700 block
of NW First Street was being drunk and aggressive. When they arrived, witnesses said
the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Kevin
Bob Morgan, was last seen running behind a
nearby residence.
Police also received reports that a vehicle
was driving erratically southbound on Boggy
Road.
Some officers stayed to search the area,
while others went to look for the vehicle.
Witnesses told police that they saw the vehicle run off Boggy Road and crash into a fence before pulling into a residence
in the 400 block of Boggy Road. The description of the driver matched
Morgan’s appearance.
As officers approached the vehicle, they noticed that it was still running,
but no one was inside. A woman yelled from her residence that the driver ran
into a field toward a residence located in the 700 block of NW First Street.
An officer ran in that direction, and he found Morgan in the backyard. The
man appeared to be very intoxicated.
When the officer asked him what he had been doing in the vehicle, Morgan told him he took it so he could go see his girlfriend.
The officer spoke to the owner of the vehicle, who said Morgan did not
have permission to take his vehicle. He said it had been moved from where
he last parked it.
Morgan is being charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, driving a
motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, leaving scene of property
damage accident and driving with license suspended. His bond was set
at $5,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on December 20, 2016.

A 19-year-old McAlester man was locked
up after he allegedly attempted to steal some
stuff from Walmart on November 22.
While trying to evade arrest, he also
crashed into another vehicle and fought back
against the officer who arrested him.
According to the police report, a McAlester
police officer was dispatched to Walmart in
the 400 block of S. George Nigh Expressway
to investigate a shoplifter. When he arrived,
an employee said he saw a man, later identified as Jeremy Shane Edwards, remove tags
from a jacket inside the store then use the
jacket to hide a set of speakers and gloves.
The employee followed Edwards outside the store, but when he confronted the man about the stolen items in his possession, Edwards took
off running. The employee said Edwards jumped into a white truck and
tried to leave the parking lot. Unfortunately for Edwards, he crashed into
another vehicle that was driving in the parking lot while trying to flee the
scene.
He still tried to leave the parking lot, but another officer who was patrolling the area went to the store to place Edwards under arrest. After some
resisting and a brief struggle, the officer was able to get the man in handcuffs and transport him to jail.
Edwards is being charged with larceny of merchandise from retailer,
leaving scene of accident involving damage and resisting an officer. His
bond was set at $1,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on December 16, 2016.

The Indictment alleged that on or about

A McAlester man was arrested in
Haskell County after an officer found drugs
and a loaded gun in his possession on November 23.
According to the affidavit, a Haskell
County deputy was on patrol when he
saw a green truck getting gas at the Kinta
EZ Mart at approximately 9:53 p.m. When
the truck pulled out of the parking lot and
headed west on Highway 31, the deputy
noticed that it had a very loud modified
exhaust, so he followed the vehicle and
made a traffic stop at the Kinta carwash.
When the truck came to a stop, the driver, 53-year-old Ervin Walters, stepped out
of the vehicle and asked the deputy why
he stopped him. The deputy explained
that it was for the modified exhaust. When
he asked the man for his driver’s license, Walters told him that he didn’t
have one, because it was suspended.
After checking the man’s information, the deputy asked him if he had any
weapons on his person. Walters said no.
The deputy asked the man to empty out his pockets. Walters pulled out
a bottle that he said contained hydrocodone pills. When the deputy looked
at the label, he noticed the pills were prescribed to a woman.
The deputy asked the man why he had a pill bottle belonging to a woman. Walters explained that he just put his pills in the bottle so he didn’t have
to carry them all at once.
When the deputy opened the bottle, he didn’t find any pills. Instead, he
found a plastic bag containing a crystal-like substance that tested positive
for meth.
The deputy then searched the man, and he found one hydrocodone pill
and a shotgun shell in the man’s jacket pocket. He asked Walters if there
were any weapons in the truck.
Walters said he didn’t know, because a relative had recently taken the
truck hunting. When the deputy searched the man’s vehicle, he found a
loaded shotgun behind the seat. There were also multiple shotgun shells in
the driver’s side door.
A records check revealed that the man was a convicted felon.
Walters is being charged with possession of a firearm after former felony
conviction, two counts of possession of controlled dangerous substance
and driving with license canceled/suspended/revoked. His bond was set
at $15,100, and he is scheduled to appear in court on January 24, 2017.

A 32-year-old Eufaula man was arrested after he
caused some concern in a neighborhood for talking
on a frying pan and holding some knives.
According to the affidavit, a McIntosh County deputy was advised at approximately 11:32 a.m. that a
man was walking around a Eufaula neighborhood
wearing a black coat, holding a knife and using a frying pan as a cell phone. The caller said he kept telling
whomever he was talking to on the frying pan that
someone was trying to kill him.
When a deputy arrived on scene at the southwest corner of S. E Street
and Lincoln, he saw Keyron Diondale Mitchell standing near a blue house,
holding two knives in his right hand and a frying pan in his left. Mitchell
kept telling the deputy that someone was trying to kill him, along with uttering other irrational statements.
Eufaula officers arrived to assist, but Mitchell refused to follow police
commands. He kept walking backwards toward the back of the house.
Police withdrew their weapons and told him to drop his weapons. The
man just told them not to shoot him as he kept backing up.
Mitchell eventually dropped the knives and frying pan, but he took off
running, leading police behind some houses, over a fence and onto S. E
Street.
Officers continued to yell and run after the man. They caught up to him
in the Eufaula Amphitheater parking lot.
Mitchell resisted and fought as officers attempted to place him in handcuffs. Police eventually subdued the man and transported him to jail, although he was able to hit one officer in the face and another on the hand
during the process.
Mitchell is being charged with assault and battery upon a police officer,
obstructing officer, attempted escape from arrest or detention and public
intoxication. His bond was set at $50,000, and he is scheduled to appear
in court on January 5, 2017.
