An 18-year-old Broken Bow man was arrested after he was caught breaking into a woman’s
home by the victim herself.
On April 4 at approximately 8:35 a.m., a
woman reported a burglary in progress at her
home in the 900 block of South Park Drive.
When a Broken Bow ofcer arrived, she told
him she was walking home when she saw a man
breaking into her residence through a window.
She pulled out her cellphone and snapped some
pics of the suspect.
The man fed the scene before going into the
house.
The victim was able to get a picture of the suspect, who was identifed as Alex William Calvillo.
She told police her residence had been robbed multiple times in the last 6
to 8 months.
The ofcer went to the suspect’s residence in the 100 block of Tanglewood
Drive, but he didn’t fnd the man. He did make contact with the suspect’s
father, who positively identifed the man in the victim’s photos as his son.
This wasn’t Calvillo’s frst burglary. According to the police report, he had
been convicted of two previous burglaries.
The ofcer fnally met with the man on April 6. Calvillo called him and
asked if they could speak. When he arrived at the police department, he
admitted to police that he went to the victim’s home and kicked in the window. The ofcer told him he already knew he broke the window, because the
victim took pictures of him.
Calvillo said he never went inside the home. The ofcer replied he knew
that too, because he was caught by the owner.
When he asked the man if he was right, Calvillo shook his head yes.
Calvillo is being charged with attempted burglary in the second degree.
His bond was set at $50,000, and he was scheduled to appear in court on
April 7, 2016.

Atoka man Todd Everett Amann, 50, allegedly
shot his brother in the chest during an alcohol-fueled argument on March 26.
He told police he had the right to defend himself
in his home.
According to the police report, Atoka ofcers were
dispatched to Amann’s home in the 400 block of E.
Turkey Creek at approximately 8:41 p.m. A woman, who was later identifed as Amann’s wife, was
standing on the front porch. She led ofcers inside
the home.
Amann was sitting in the north side of the living
room, bleeding from his face. His brother was on
the other side of room, holding his chest.
Amann told a deputy that he had the right to defend himself in his home. He explained that his brother had him down in the foor
and beat him up, so he defended himself.
Ofcers recovered the gun used in the shooting.
During the investigation, the deputy was advised Amann was a convicted felon.
He placed the man under arrest.
Amann’s wife told police her husband and his brother had been drinking and
they started arguing. The argument turned physical, and the victim took Amann
to the foor. Amann was able to get loose. He then went to his room, grabbed a
rife and returned to the kitchen, shooting his brother in the chest.
The woman said she grabbed the gun from her husband and calmed down both
men until police arrived.
Amann is being charged with shooting with intent to kill and possession of
frearm after former felony conviction. His bond was set at $200,000, and he is
scheduled to appear in court on April 13, 2016.

A man in Stockholm, Sweden was a bit
mifed when the 13-year-old girl he’d been
courting didn’t show up for an arranged sex
meeting. Having met the girl on a dating website, this man deposited an advance payment
in her bank account before their “date”. When
the teen stood him up, the man found her home
phone number and called her father to demand
a refund. You can imagine how that ended.
John Szwalla, a 17-year-old idiot from North
Carolina, entered an internet cafe and demanded money, claiming he had a gun hidden under
his shirt. The “gun” was actually a banana. The
cafe’s owner, along with a customer, restrained
John and called the police. John ate the banana
while he waited for the cops to arrive. Apparently the police joked about charging the kid
with “destroying evidence”.

Ada man Charles Robert Cofman, 46, was locked up in the
Coal County Jail after he allegedly
tried to force a car of the road on
April 3.
According to the police report,
a Coal County deputy was contacted by a woman who accused
Cofman of trying to run her of
the road in a rural area west of
Coalgate. She told the deputy it
seemed as though Cofman intentionally maneuvered his vehicle
around hers and swerved suddenly. The woman said she narrowly
avoided a collision with the man.
The victim told the deputy her aunt, who happened to be Cofman’s
girlfriend, was a passenger in her car when the incident occurred.
Ofcers stopped Cofman on Highway 31 west of Highway 31 B.
The deputy arrived at the location and took the man into custody.
Cofman wouldn’t comply with ofcer commands and refused to
walk. The deputy had to force him into the patrol car so he could take
him to jail.
Cofman told him, “Let me catch you on the street one day mother
f-----, and I’ll knock your f------ ass out.”
The deputy advised him that probably wouldn’t be wise.
Before he was locked up, Cofman accused the deputy of assaulting
him and stealing $300 from him.
He was eventually booked into jail and placed in a cell.
Cofman is being charged with reckless driving, obstructing ofcer, resisting an ofcer and disturbing the peace. His bond was set
at $2,500, and he is scheduled to appear in court on June 17, 2016.

IDENTIFICATION
An 18-year-old Durant man was arrested after he allegedly stole a vehicle and took it on a joyride, crashing
into a fre hydrant on April 4.
Witnesses said Byron Cornelius Young Jr. was walking around the neighborhood acting suspiciously. According to the afdavit, a Durant ofcer was dispatched
to the 900 block of Crooked Oak Drive for a hit-andrun collision shortly after noon.
A man on scene told the ofcer he saw a truck traveling north on Briarwood Avenue. The vehicle hit the
curb on the east side of Briarwood, swerved into the
oncoming lane, then did a 180-degree turn, crashing
into a fre hydrant. He said the driver of the vehicle,
later identifed as Young, jumped out of the truck, slammed the door and took of
walking toward Briarwood Apartments.
Several witnesses told police they found Young sitting in their vehicles, which
were parked in front of their homes. When they confronted him, he would get out
of the car and take of walking.
One witness said Young knocked on his door. Young asked a question, but the
man didn’t understand him.
Young then walked to the witness’ car and grabbed the handle in an attempt
to open the door. When the man asked Young what he was doing, the suspect
replied, “Nothing.”
An ofcer found Young and placed him under arrest.
The man had a baggy containing a crystalline substance that tested positive for
meth and $325 in his pants pocket.
The owner of the vehicle Young allegedly crashed told an ofcer she walked
into her home earlier that day to fnd things scattered around. The only thing
missing from inside the house was approximately $318 in cash. She said her door
was unlocked so her son could come pick up the cash. The woman said her husband’s vehicle was also missing. It was the vehicle Young crashed.
Young is being charged with burglary in the second degree, possession of controlled dangerous substance, burglary in the second degree, larceny of automobile, knowingly concealing stolen property, attempted burglary in the second degree and leaving scene of accident damaged fxture. He is being held with bail and
is scheduled to appear in court on May 18, 2016.

March 16th was not
diferent than any other
patrol day for Oklahoma
Game Warden Jim Gillham, until 11:57 a.m.
Warden Gillham heard
the Choctaw County Sherif's Ofce dispatcher advise all deputies on duty to
head toward Ft. Towson.
The dispatcher advised
that a domestic had gone
bad and there had been a
shooting. The dispatcher
advised that as far as he knew, everyone involved was still at the scene and that he
had no physical description of anyone at the residence.
Warden Gillham was near and attempted to reach the scene to prevent any further injuries and render aid.
At 12:03 Gillham arrived near the scene. The dispatcher advised there was no
further information about the victim, the shooter, any vehicles, or what the situation was at the residence in question.
Gillham talked to a youth standing nearby and he told him the shooter had left
the residence in a black KIA car and that the shooter had taken the shotgun he
used to shoot the victim. Warden Gillham advised Choctaw County dispatch of
the information the youth had provided, then walked to the residence where he
found the victim of the shooting laying on a bedroom foor. It appeared that he
had been shot at least twice in pelvis but the bleeding was controlled.
Gillham advised the victim that the ambulance was on the way.
Warden Gillham heard gravel popping and saw the black car earlier described,
sitting in the driveway. Warden Gillham mounted his patrol rife and encountered a man exiting the car when the youth identifed the driver as the shooter.
Warden Gillham ordered the man to the ground and he complied.
Gillham asked the alleged shooter the location of the shotgun, and the man told
the warden, "In the trunk." Warden Gillham covered the suspect until Choctaw
county Deputy Sherif Chris Orosco arrived on the scene and cufed the man.
Choctaw County Sherif Terry Park said the shooting appears to have stemmed
from an ongoing family dispute, and after a brief physical altercation, a gun was
fred.
The victim air lifted to a Paris hospital and later transferred to Plano.
Sherif Park said the man was shot possibly two times.
While the OSBI is investigating, authorities aren't ruling out the possibility of
it being justifed. "At the present time it's looking like it could be self defense, but
that's premature and I can't really say," said Sherif Park.
The case was investigated by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
