We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money or
favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting
offi cer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

If you asked ten different
people, you might get
ten different answers.
Some might say that sin is
“doing something wrong
or breaking the law,” while
others might say that sin
is “hurting another person
or taking an innocent life.”
Still others might deny the
very existence of sin, saying
that there is no such thing
as right or wrong– in short, that there are no real absolutes in this world.
However, most people agree (regardless of culture) that there are certain
actions that are wrong, and should be punishable by fines, imprisonment or
even death.
Even the person who “doesn’t believe in right or wrong” would have a hard
time observing a maniac rape and murder a small child, and say that what
happened to them was not a crime.
Sin is a terminal disease that eats away at the very heart of this planet. It
destroys individual people, families, cultures, even the earth itself. Our world
is defiled by it, yet most people cannot even give a definition of the word, or
grasp the true gravity of the situation. What is sin? Surely sin is more that ten
different opinions from ten different people. Is there any final authority on
this subject?
The Bible says that sin is a heart condition. It is a condition of rebellion
against God, which stems from pride. The Bible even refers to pride as
“original sin.” The Hebrew definition of the word sin means “to miss the
mark.” God created us to be like Him, but our pride and rebellion make us
fall far short of that purpose. Our actions, though they may be “sinful” are
really only the fruit of our rebellion against God. Our outward actions merely
mirror our true inner condition. It is our true inner condition that God is
concerned with. He knows the “real you” better than you yourself do, because
he sees “the inner man” and all your secret thoughts and motives.
Bible Says:
What exactly is sin?

Stillwater man Tracy Lee Reyes, 25, tried his hardest to deny that
the drugs found on him were actually drugs after he was arrested on
June 18.
He even went as far to ask an officer if he was going to test them.
According to the affidavit, a Stillwater police officer pulled over a
vehicle in the 800 block of North Perkins due to the vehicle speeding
and improperly switching lanes. The driver immediately asked the
officer why he pulled her over. He told her the reason, and asked her
information. He also asked Reyes, the passenger, for his info.
Another officer arrived to assist. While checking their information,
he told the other officer, “He is passing her something.”
An officer approached the passenger side of the vehicle and saw
Reyes handing the driver a baggie. Police told Reyes to open the door, but he refused.
An officer knocked on the window, demanding that Reyes exit the vehicle. The door unlocked, and the officer pulled Reyes out of the car, and he was immediately handcuffed for
investigative detention.
The driver denied that Reyes handed her anything. Reyes yelled at her, “Tell them to get
a K9!”
The driver gave them consent to search the vehicle.
In the vehicle, police found numerous baggies with a crystal-like substance. The driver insisted they were not hers. Reyes also said they weren’t his and asked the officer if he planted
them in the vehicle.
Reyes continued to deny the bags were his, and asked what was wrong with them. The officer told him, “You have eyes. You tell me.”
Reyes then told him that he has been in trouble before, and tried to hand the driver the
bags because he had “been in trouble for s--- that wasn’t [his].”
The officer told him he was under arrest for possession of meth. Reyes became very vocal,
and told the officer there wasn’t meth in the bags.
On the way to jail, Reyes asked the officer, “Are you not going to field test the baggies?”
Once at the jail, the officer tested the baggies.
Guess what? It was meth.
Reyes is being charged with unlawful possession of controlled dangerous substance methamphetamine and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held in lieu of a
$25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 7, 2014.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

A Bristow woman who outwore her welcome at a local gas
station was arrested after police became suspicious due to her
odd behavior.
On June 14, Bristow police were dispatched to the 500 block
of South Main in reference to a vehicle that had been parked
at the gas pumps for approximately 30 minutes, according to
the affidavit.
When they arrived, an officer made contact with Kasha
Dawn McCollum, 26, and asked her how long she had been
sitting at the gas pump. She told them she had been sitting
there all day.
McCollum said she just wanted to see her kids, who lived
with their grandmother. But, when the officer asked her where
she lived, she told them with her grandmother.
She began to change her story, telling them something about her “baby daddy.” She started
crying and was lethargic with her speech. Her pupils were also dilated.
The officer asked her if she had taken any medications or illegal substances; she admitted
to using opiates three days prior. A sobriety test showed that McCollum had probably taken
more since then, because she didn’t do well at all.
An officer placed her under arrest and put her in the patrol vehicle.
Police searched McCollum’s vehicle and found a bag with a white crystal substance that
later tested positive for methamphetamine. McCollum told them the bag wasn’t hers and she
didn’t know where the bag came from. She did say, however, that she was the only one who
had been in, and driven, her car.
At the police department, officers conducted an inventory of McCollum’s purse and found
a digital scale with a white crystal residue on the weight plate. A single dollar bill was also
found in the scale. McCollum denied the scale was hers, but told police the dollar was hers.
McCollum is being charged with distribution of controlled dangerous substance, actual
physical control of vehicle under the influence and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held on a $26,500 bond, and is scheduled to appear in court on July 11, 2014.

Summer is upon us, school is
out, and the time for recreation
and fun in the sun is here! With
summertime comes traffic to and from the lakes, as well as
numerous other endeavors that you can enjoy across the state,
including camping, riding horses, motorcycles, and atv’s, and other
activities too numerous to list here. One thing that a lot of these
activities have in common is towing something to and from these
locations. I’ve touched on this before, but it never hurts to re-visit
basic safety issues to keep in mind when towing a trailer, so here
goes!
One of the most important safety features that trailers come
equipped with are the safety chains or cables. These are required,
and must be in use when towing. These chains keep the trailer
attached to the vehicle should the coupling device break or
otherwise become disengaged. These chains or cables shall be of
sufficient size and strength to prevent parting from the towing
vehicle. A helpful hint when connecting your stay chains or cables
is to cross them under the tongue of the trailer. The stay chains or
cables must be attached in a manner to prevent the tongue from
falling to the ground, and crossing them allows the chains to catch
it if it should come off the coupling device.
Some larger trailers come equipped with an emergency
breakaway device. This device has a cable coming from it that must
be attached to the vehicle. If the trailer becomes disconnected from
the vehicle, when the cable is pulled tight, it automatically applies
the trailer brakes, preventing it from free-rolling. This device is
required on all trailers with a GVWR of 3000 lbs or more. Speaking
of brakes, state law requires that all brakes be maintained and in
good working order!
If you are breaking out this trailer for the first time since winter,
it’s a good idea to check the tires. Tires that sit for a long time
develop dry rot, flat spots, and lose pressure. Make sure that your
tires are in good working order, still have sufficient tread, and
check the pressure. Run the tires at the manufacturer’s suggested
psi for optimal performance.
Last but not least, we come to trailer lights. Make sure that all
your lights are functional. Plug them into the towing vehicle, and
check them all! Don’t assume that if they work in the daylight,
they will work at night, go ahead and check them with the towing
vehicle’s headlight switch turned on as well. If you are towing
more than one thing; in other words, towing in combination, only
the rearmost trailer’s lights must be operational.
Summertime is recreation time, and getting our toys to our
destination and back safely is the responsibility of every safe,
courteous driver. Lets all do our part to enjoy summer safely. As
always, thanks for reading, buckle up and be safe!

A couple of 18-year-old boys found with some underage
girls were arrested on June 16 because they were driving
around Guthrie shooting at people.
They allegedly said they thought it would be fun.
According to the affidavit, a Guthrie officer was dispatched
to a residence on Rainbow Lake Drive due to a shooting.
The victim and his wife told the officer that they had been
outside in their yard when a vehicle stopped in front of their
house. The victim said he noticed “several kids” hanging out
of the windows. One of the kids, Taton Dakota Savory of
Guthrie, allegedly pointed a gun at the man and shot at him,
then drove down to an abandoned residence. The victim
said he and his wife followed them and blocked the driveway with their vehicle before calling police.
The officer approached the vehicle and made contact with
the car’s driver, El Reno man Layton Guy Atlee Tipken. Tipken told the officer they had only used a BB gun. The officer
detained the two men and made contact with three very angry underage girls. They were free with their use of the “f”
word, and told the officer they didn’t do anything wrong, so
he could f--- off.
Their parents must be so proud.
Savory told the officer that the gun was never loaded and
they were just having fun scaring people.
In the vehicle, the officer found a Black Ops CO2 pistol
and a jar that was half full of bb’s. Other officers from the
police department and Logan County arrived to assist, and the officer took his K9 for a
walk around the vehicle. The K9 found a metal box in the car and alerted in the center
console. In the vehicle, the officer found scales, a ledger book, baggies and a small amount
of a green leafy substance.
Another man arrived on scene and told the officer that he had also called in, because
a man in a car had shot at him twice, striking his garage. He said he checked his garage
door, and located the BB at the base of his door. He told police he drove down the street
and located the other victim and the suspects.
Savory is being charged with two counts of use of motor vehicle for intentional discharge of firearm. He is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
They are both scheduled to appear in court on July 24, 2014.
Tipken is being charged with two counts of use of motor vehicle for intentional discharge of firearm, unlawful possession of controlled drug with intent to distribute, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug proceeds. He was released on
a $100,000 bond.

CONSPIRACY
An Oklahoma City man was arrested after he broke into an Enid bar because he allegedly
told police God told him to.
It gets crazier.
When an Enid officer arrived at the bar in the 3600 block of E. Market, the owner of the bar
told him that she had found a man in her establishment.
The man, Joe Don Ong, 47, told the officer in very fast speech that he wasn’t breaking any
laws and he was told to go to the bar. Ong was holding a small dog.
The officer asked him who told him to go to the bar, and Ong told him God, according to the
affidavit.
Ong quickly explained that he knew it sounded crazy, but it wasn’t.
Oh, good.
Ong said it wasn’t crazy because he was no longer smoking synthetic weed — he was now smoking the real stuff.
Wait, what?
The officer asked him how long it had been since he smoked the real weed, and Ong told him he just did and he
had some in his pocket. The officer told Ong to place his hands behind his back. He placed Ong in handcuffs and
found a burnt marijuana cigarette in his pocket.
The officer took Ong to his patrol vehicle. Ong told him that everything was OK, because he took down the sign.
The officer later found out that Ong had removed a sign from the door that said no pets were allowed in the bar.
The officer also found out Ong made himself at home while in the bar. He moved a mat from the bathroom to
the front porch, rearranged pool cues and T-shirts, brought his own pool balls into the bar, set up a table, spread
some of his clothing out in the bar, drank a soda and moved a white cash register. He also left a pair of boots, a pet
carrier, papers, a glove and a straw hat in the business.
During a search of Ong’s vehicle, police found rolling papers and another marijuana cigarette.
Ong is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, unlawful possession of drug
paraphernalia and breaking and entering dwelling without permission. His bond was set at $2,500 and he is
scheduled to appear in court on July 7, 2014.

A Wellston man was arrested after he unwittingly gave away his
marijuana possession when a state trooper asked him if there was
anything that the man wanted to tell him.
Oops!
According to the affidavit, the trooper pulled over a vehicle on
June 10 after it made an improper turn on the eastbound Wellston
ramp off of the Turner Turnpike in Lincoln County. The vehicle also
had a defective license plate lamp.
The trooper asked the driver, Brandon Jake Willis, 38, for his license, but Oklahoma Highway Patrol dispatch advised him that Willis didn’t have one. When the trooper checked Willis’s information,
he was advised that Willis had a warrant in Oklahoma County.
The trooper detained Willis in his patrol vehicle and asked him if there was anything he
wanted to tell him, referring to the warrant.
Willis told him there was marijuana in the vehicle. The trooper informed him that he was
referring to his warrant, but the damage was done.
Police conducted an inventory of Willis’s truck and found scales containing a crystal-like
residue, straws with residue and approximately 35 small bags used for distributing controlled dangerous substances. They also found two smoking pipes that smelled like burnt
marijuana and a large bag with a crystal substance in the vehicle.
Willis is being charged with trafficking in illegal drugs and unlawful possession of drug
paraphernalia. He is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in
court on July 10, 2014.
