A Cushing woman was arrested after she stole a wallet from a man who
turned down her generous offer of
oral sex for $100.
On September 12 at 10:19 p.m., a
Cushing police officer was dispatched
to a gas station in the 600 block of E.
Main Street due to a larceny of a wallet. A man told the officer he went inside the store to buy coffee. As he was
paying, a woman approached him
and offered him oral sex for $100. He
wisely turned her down and left the
store… without his wallet.
He told the officer he left his wallet
that contained eleven $100 bills lying on the counter when he left
the store. When he returned to get his wallet, it was gone.
The officer reviewed the security tapes and saw 48-year-old
Tywna Darise Brannon approach the man at the counter. At one
point, she leaned in and said something in his ear. The man left
the store, but his black wallet was still on the counter. Brannon
put her hand on the wallet and slid it onto the floor. She then put
her foot on top of it and paid for some items. When the cashier
gave her back her change, she dropped some money on the ground
next to the wallet. She then picked up the money and wallet and
left the store.
Police made contact with Brannon on September 13 and recovered $663 in cash. She told them she threw the wallet out of her
vehicle after leaving the store.
Brannon is being charged with grand larceny. She was released
on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on November 6, 2014.

God’s purpose behind this law was an expression of
mercy. The law was given to judges and said, in effect,
“Make the punishment fit the crime.” It was not a
guide for personal revenge. These laws were given
to limit vengeance and help the court administer
punishment that was neither to strict nor too lenient.
Some people, however, were using this phrase to
justify their vendettas against others. People still try
to excuse their acts of revenge by saying, “I was just
doing to him what he did to me.”

Alan Hruby, the son of a newspaper publisher, has allegedly confessed to killing his father,
mother and sister. John Hruby, his wife Tinker
and their 17-year-old daughter Katherine were
all found dead inside their Duncan home by a
housekeeper on Oct. 13.
Last year, John Hruby turned his son in for using his grandmother’s credit card and charging
nearly $5,000 during a trip to Europe.
Alan Hruby is on probation and a freshman at
OU, but he’s now in Stephens County jail.
If Alan Hruby is found guilty of this crime, do you think the death

Bristow man Bruce Wayne Malone, 52, became angry when
he was working at a golf course because a golf ball flew over
his head. He was so angry, in fact, that he allegedly attacked
a golfer with a rake.
On September 30 around 10 a.m., a man called police to
report an assault that had taken place at a golf course, according to the affidavit. When the Bristow officer arrived, he met
with a man who was holding his right hand against his stomach. The man said he was on the tee box of the #2 hole when
he saw Malone raking the sandbox. The man said he hit a ball
and yelled, “fore!,” as it flew over Malone’s head. He said the
ball didn’t hit Malone.
When the man went down the the green, Malone walked
toward him in a “threatening manner.” Malone allegedly told
the victim, “If that ball would have hit me, I’d kick your ass.”
The victim said Malone then “got into his face,” and when the man told Malone to back up,
Malone hit him in the stomach with a rake.
The victim said Malone swung the rake at him again, so he grabbed a golf club and used it
to block the rake. Eventually, Malone’s swinging rake broke the head of the man’s club. The
victim said he was then hit in the hand by the rake. The officer noticed the man’s hand was
bruised and appeared to be very swollen.
The officer met with Malone and asked him what happened. He said the victim teed off
and the ball came close to striking him. Malone said when the man got to the green, he told
the man that if the ball had hit him, the man would have been responsible for any injuries.
Malone said the victim shoved him and began swinging a golf club at him. Malone claimed
that he used the rake to protect himself.
The rake allegedly used to hit the victim had a dent in the handle that appeared to be too
big for just hitting a golf club. It appeared to have struck something larger.
Malone was placed under arrest and transported to jail.
Malone is being charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on October 31, 2014.

The term “outgunned” doesn’t quite do this story justice.
Derrick Mosley strolled into a discount gun store with a baseball bat, smashed a glass display case and tried to steal a firearm. Yes, he tried to rob a gun shop with a baseball bat. What
happened next? The manager pulled out a gun of his own,
pointed it at Derrick and kept him in the crosshairs until the
police arrived. Don’t be too hard on yourself Derrick. Guns in
a gun store? Nobody could have anticipated that.
A customer at Applebee’s handed a waitress her own stolen
driver’s license in an attempt to order alcohol. The culprit was
a 26-year-old woman, so she didn’t need to use a fake ID to
buy her margarita anyway, but we’ll set that aside. Kudos to
the waitress, who remained calm, told the customer she was
off to get her drink and called the police instead.
Getaway cars are just for the movies. Real criminals use
getaway donkeys. A trio of Columbian robbers in the exotic
sounding town Juan de Acosta loaded stolen rum, rice, tuna
and sardines onto Xavi, a 10-year-old donkey. It was all going to plan, but then the donkey starting “heehawing”. Loudly.
The racket alerted police to the robbery and the burglars ran.
A would-be lumberjack was casually strolling down a suburban street with an axe in hand when he happened across a
bike, which was chained around a tree. The axeman wanted
to acquire this bike for himself. So he started to chop down
the tree, blissfully oblivious to the stares of passers-by. The
bemused spectators chased him away several times, but the
lumberjack was determined. After a period of about seven
minutes, he managed to fell the tree. Unfortunately, the thief
was chased away again before he could claim his prize.
Joey Miller and Matthew McNelly concocted an ingenious
disguise before trying to break into an apartment. Well, we use
the term “ingenious” very loosely. Matthew and Joey spurned
more traditional disguises like masks or balaclavas, instead
choosing to draw on their own faces with permanent markers.
Here’s the thing about permanent marker. It’s extremely difficult to erase. So when the pair was pulled over by police after
the bungled break-in, they were easily recognizable. The stunt
earned Joey and Matthew the nickname “dumb and dumber”

A Guthrie man seemed to think it would be OK to get drunk and smoke
some weed and take a nap on a stranger’s front porch.
It wasn’t — people usually don’t react well to strange men on their
front porch.
According to the affidavit, a Guthrie officer was dispatched to the 100
block of Oak Park around 1:21 a.m. on October 10. The reason? Michael
Ray Hemby Jr., 37, was asleep on a residents’ front porch, and the residents wanted him gone!
When the officer arrived, he saw Hemby passed out in a chair on the
front porch. He woke the man up and noticed the smell of alcohol on
Hemby’s breath and person. The officer also noticed a small baggy containing a green leafy
substance that appeared to be marijuana and a lighter between Hemby’s feet.
Hemby was very incoherent, and his eyes were bloodshot. He told the officer he was tired,
and he just wanted to sleep. Hemby said the lighter was his, but the marijuana definitely
wasn’t.
The officer placed him under arrest and transported to jail.
Hemby was so intoxicated that the officer had to postpone booking and place him in a cell.
Dispatch advised Hemby had an outstanding warrant for possession of stolen property.
Hemby is being charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of
drug paraphernalia and public intoxication. He is being held in lieu of a $25,000 bond and
is scheduled to appear in court on November 20, 2014.

When a Chandler police officer asked Agra man Terry Lynn
Fick, 55, who some drugs and paraphernalia belonged to,
Fick foolishly replied, “I don’t know what it is, but I’ll take it.”
Fick and his companion, Agra woman Nancy Marie Akins,
31, were arrested October 9 for possession of drugs and paraphernalia.
According to the affidavit, the officer was on patrol around
9:46 p.m. October 9, when he saw a vehicle pull out from
Dewey and turn east on First Street. The driver of the vehicle
failed to signal when turning.
The office pulled the vehicle over and made contact with
Fick and Akins. Fick appeared to be very fidgety, and the officer asked him when he had last used methamphetamine.
Fick said a few months ago.
The officer asked him if there was anything illegal inside his
vehicle. Fick looked at his car and said, “Uhhh, no.”
Not very convincing, Fick.
A K9 officer arrived on scene, and he walked his dog around
Fick’s car. The K9 alerted on the driver’s side door. The officer searched the vehicle and found two baggies containing a
clear crystal substance, plastic straws, a smoking device with
a burnt residue and digital scales.
An officer placed Fick under arrest and asked, “Who does it
belong to?” That’s when Fick said he didn’t know what it was,
but he’d take it.
The officer also placed Akins under arrest, and the duo was
transported to jail.
Akins is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to
appear in court on November 6, 2014.
Fick is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to signal on turning. His bond was set at $20,000,
and he is scheduled to appear in court on November 6, 2014.
