A 32-year-old former Stillwater resident and a
19-year-old were arrested in Stillwater on March 31
for having guns and drugs in their possession.
The pair allegedly had black tar heroin and oxycodone ready to distribute in Stillwater.
Darren Burns Harmon, who now reportedly resides
in Tuscon, Arizona, was on probation at the time of
the arrest.
Harmon allegedly stole a Stillwater man’s wedding
ring set worth $3,584 and pointed a gun at him in
2017. He pled guilty to the charges related to the
incident and received a 5-year suspended sentence
for the theft and an 8-year suspended sentence for
pointing the gun at the victim.
Harmon allegedly violated his probation in 2018
when he tested positive for amphetamines, failed
to report to his probation officer, and didn’t provide
his current address, place of employment or phone
number. The man also didn’t pay restitution and other
assessments that were conditions of his probation.
Kira Jean Jones lives with Harmon in Tucson, Arizona. At the time of the arrest, she had black tar heroin,
oxycodone and a Raven Arms .25-caliber handgun in
her possession.
Harmon is being charged with possession of firearm after conviction of a felony, unlawful possession
of a controlled drug and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was
set at $100,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on May 28, 2020.
Jones is being charged with unlawful possession of controlled drug with intent
to distribute and possession of firearm during commission of a felony. Her bond
was set at $50,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on June 25, 2020.

The Creek County Sheriff’s
Office has been receiving calls
about a new scam circulating.
As part of this scam, a person
receives a phone call that states
that the caller is a sheriff’s deputy, police officer, bounty hunter
or lawyer. This caller usually
states that there is a warrant for
the recipient’s arrest.
In some cases, the scammers
have more sophisticated technology and are able to manipulate caller ID
data to show that the call is actually coming from the Sheriff’s Office. Often, the caller claims that the arrest warrant is due to not paying a debt,
missing jury duty or committing some other minor infraction. The Creek
County Sheriff’s Office will NEVER call and advise that you have a warrant
and owe money. If you receive this type of call, please report it to us at
918-224-4964.

A Ponca City woman was arrested for a terrorism hoax
for allegedly coughing and sneezing on an officer and telling him she had the Coronavirus.
According to reports, Ponca City officers were dispatched to the home of 47-year-old Cecelia Eileen Flores,
because she was trying to drive drunk. When they arrived,
Flores was trying to get into a vehicle and leave the area.
Officers were able to stop her before she got behind
the wheel.
When they started to leave, Flores tried to shake an
officer’s hand. The officer refused and told her, “I don’t
know if you’re aware, but there’s this Coronavirus going
around.”
Flores became angry and yelled at the officer. She then coughed and sneezed on
the officer and said, “I got it! What’s up?”
When an officer asked her if she actually had a positive diagnosis of COVID-19,
she told him she didn’t.
After speaking with his supervisor about the matter, the officer returned later that
day and placed Flores under arrest.
Flores is being charged with terrorism hoax after former conviction of two or
more felonies. Her bond was set at $2,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court
on June 12, 2020.

Two arrested for home invasion, shooting
Two Bartlesville men are facing charges relating to
an April 19 home invasion and shooting in which an
infant was hit by a bullet.
Jerrin Lee Birmingham, 23, and 20-year-old Trevon Shamar Lewis allegedly entered a residence in
the 4700 block of SE Adams around 3:30 a.m. Birmingham had a pistol, and Lewis had a bat.
A man in the residence said Birmingham pointed
a gun at him, so he took off running. Birmingham
chased after him, although Birmingham later told police he didn’t have a gun, and he didn’t chase after
the man.
Birmingham and Lewis said they were at the apartment trying to fix an argument between the victim
and Lewis’ aunt. A juvenile at the residence said
Lewis hit him in the head with a bat. Lewis admitted
to hitting the teen, but he said it was more a “shove”
than a swing.
Another juvenile at the residence confirmed that
Lewis hit the teen with a bat. He also said he saw
Birmingham chase the man out of the residence.
Later that morning, around 6:45 a.m., the victim
and several others were in a vehicle at the apartment
complex when it was hit by bullets. A 9-month-old
who was in the backseat was wounded in the leg. The child was taken to the
hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Officers who investigated the scene found 14 spent shell casings and two
handguns.
Birmingham is being charged with feloniously pointing a firearm. Lewis
is being charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Their
bonds were set at $50,000, and they are scheduled to appear in court on
May 22, 2020.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children, taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children receive
public assistance and their parents pay no child support, all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

The wife of the disgraced former Wetumka mayor
followed in her husband’s footsteps right into the
Hughes County Jail on April 24.
According to reports, the former mayor, James
Jackson, was arrested in March for several sex crime
charges including lewd acts against a minor, possession of child pornography and bestiality.
His wife, 51-year-old Rebecca Marie Jackson, was
arrested at her residence for her own litany of felony
charges, including possession of child pornography.
Reports state both Jackson and her husband resigned from the Wetumka City Council on January
31 during a specially-called council meeting.
A councilor alleged that the former mayor had been
stalking her. During the meeting, the former mayor
proposed an executive session to discuss abolishing
the police department. He wanted to then use those
funds to provide the sanitation department with a
“critically needed multi-million dollar, 40-year sewer
lagoon loan.”
After the executive session, council members announced that all agenda items were being scrapped.
The former mayor, his wife and a councilman needed
to resign.
Court records also revealed that James filed for divorce from her husband
on April 10.
Jackson is being charged with conspiracy, violation of OK statute via computer, aggravated possession of child pornography and pattern of criminal
offenses. Her bond was set at $500,000, and she is scheduled to appear in
court on May 5, 2020.

Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty GARVIN COUNTY 25 | MAY 2020
A Washington state man who led police on a high-speed chase on March
29 may have not actually been driving ― officers said they found the suspect’s pet pit bull behind the wheel after his 1996 Buick crashed, Seattle TV
station KOMO reported.
The unidentified 51-year-old male suspect, from Lakewood, Washington, is
now facing several charges including DUI, reckless driving, hit-and-run and felony eluding, authorities said. The man allegedly struck two vehicles before he
fled on Interstate 5.
One trooper reported seeing the pit bull in the driver’s seat with the owner
handling the steering wheel from the passenger seat. The car reportedly hit
speeds of 109 mph during the chase, and at one point drove on a popular trail
for pedestrians and cyclists (it was fortunately empty).
State troopers eventually ended their pursuit by throwing down spike strips,
but then came the shocker.
Washington State Patrol officer Heather Axtman said the driver told police
that he was “trying to teach his dog how to drive,” according to CNN.
Axtman added: “I wish I could make this up. I’ve been a trooper for almost
12 years and wow, I’ve never heard this excuse. I’ve been in a lot of high speed
chases, I’ve stopped a lot of cars, and never have I gotten an excuse that they
were teaching their dog how to drive.”
The officer said the pit bull―whom she described as a “very sweet girl”―
was taken to a local animal shelter.
Her owner was later released on an $8,500 bond, according to USA Today.
A man has been accused of grabbing a 2 1/2-foot-long (76 centimeters)
sword and chasing after another man who asked him to turn down his music,
police in Manchester, New Hampshire, said.
A man knocked on the door of Benjamin Layland, 47, police said. Layland
reportedly became upset and grabbed the sword. He allegedly chased the man
down a hall, police said. The man got away and there were no injuries.
Layland was charged with criminal threatening.
A Florida man is back in jail for impersonating a law enforcement officer just
days after he was arrested for the exact same charge, sheriff’s officials said.
LeRoy Stotelmyer, 60, was arrested after investigators got a tip from a toll
bridge attendant who showed them video of the man flashing a law enforcement badge twice to avoid paying a $2 toll, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office
said in a Facebook post.
On-duty officers are allowed to cross free of charge, officials said.
A toll booth attendant told investigators that Stotelmyer flashed the silver
badge at him, and he in turn showed the man an article about his arrest for
impersonating an officer. He said Stotelmyer then put away the badge and paid
the toll.
Sheriff Rick Staly said Stotelmyer was arrested several days before on
charges of impersonating an officer and shoplifting. He was then charged with
felony violation of pre-trial release and impersonating an officer. He was being
held without bond.
“This guy clearly has not learned his lesson and has no respect for the law,”
Sheriff Rick Staly said. “Two days after his release and he is already up to his old
tricks. We know already that he thinks he can get out of shoplifting and paying
tolls with his fake badge.”

new profession: inmate
An Ardmore man will be spending the next 12
years in a federal prison after he was sentenced in
late April for robbing a bank in Ardmore.
Zachary Gage Pebley, 22, of MaComb, was sentenced to 147 months’ imprisonment, and three
years’ supervised release for Bank Robbery and for
Use, Carry, and Brandish a Firearm During and in
Relation to a Crime of Violence.
Pebley’s jury trial began on January 21, 2020
and concluded on January 22, 2020 with a guilty
verdict. The verdict was the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the
Ardmore Police Department. Sentencing occurred
following the completion of a presentence report.
Evidence presented at trial proved to the jury that
on October 15, 2019, Pebley entered the Bank of the West in Ardmore wearing
a black hat, sunglasses and a white bandana over his face. He approached and
pointed a gun at a bank teller demanding that money be placed into a pillowcase. After receiving the money, Pebley fled the bank, and within minutes was
pursued and detained briefly by a bystander who had seen him running from the
area of the bank. Shortly thereafter, officers with the Ardmore Police Department
located Pebley hiding in a back yard and arrested him.
United States Attorney Brian J. Kuester said, “Alert victims, a willing bystander, rapid response by the Ardmore Police Department, and their thorough investigation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation led to swift justice against
the defendant in just over six months following his crime. This investigation and
prosecution was a result of teamwork at its finest – local and federal law enforcement agencies working together with the communities they serve and protect.”
“Armed bank robbery is a serious violent crime which is aggressively investigated, prosecuted and punished,” said Melissa Godbold, Special Agent in
Charge of the FBI’s Oklahoma City Field Office. “The quick intervention by a
good Samaritan led to the apprehension of Mr. Pebley by the Ardmore Police
Department. This is an example of how the FBI, our law enforcement partners,
and Oklahomans work together to defend their community against those who
commit violent crime.”

national police week
May 10-16, 2020
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed
a proclamation which designated May 15 as
Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week
in which that date falls as Police Week. Currently, tens of thousands of law enforcement
officers from around the world converge on
Washington, DC to participate in a number of
planned events which honor those that have
paid the ultimate sacrifice.
The Memorial Service began in 1982 as a
gathering in Senate Park of approximately
120 survivors and supporters of law enforcement. Decades later, the event,
more commonly known as National Police Week, has grown to a series of
events which attracts thousands of survivors and law enforcement officers to
our Nation’s Capital each year.
The National Peace Officers Memorial Service, which is sponsored by the
Grand Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police, is one in a series of events
which includes the Candlelight Vigil, which is sponsored by the National Law
Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) and seminars sponsored by
Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.)
National Police Week draws in between 25,000 to 40,000 attendees. The
attendees come from departments throughout the United States as well as
from agencies throughout the world. This provides a unique opportunity to
meet others who work in law enforcement. In that spirit, the Fraternal Order of
Police DC Lodge #1 sponsors receptions each afternoon and evening during
Police Week. These events are open to all law enforcement personnel and are
an experience unlike any other.

A man who worked at a local post office was sentenced
in late April on federal charges for stealing mail at his job on
Christmas Day last year.
Dallas Mitchell Duflot, 24, was sentenced to credit for
time served, and two years of supervised release for the
federal charge of Theft Of Mail.
The charges arose from an investigation by the Madill Police Department, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, and
the United States Postal Inspection Service.
The Indictment alleged that on December 25, 2019, Duflot stole and took mail from an authorized mailbox or mail
depository.
United States Attorney Brian J. Kuester said, “Theft of mail is not only a property
crime. When someone steals mail from another’s mailbox, it is an attack against
the Postal Service, a government institution we trust, rely and depend upon daily.
The swift action by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service along with its local law enforcement partners put an abrupt end to the defendant’s conduct, prevented further harm to his victims, and allows for continued faith in our Postal Service.”
“The U.S. Postal Inspection Service will always pursue those who steal or misuse the U.S. Mail; we want the public to maintain confidence in the Postal Service,” said D. Glen Henderson, Acting Inspector in Charge of the Fort Worth Division. “This prosecution represents the partnerships we want to foster, starting with
engaged community members all the way to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. By working together, we can reduce these types of crime and bring offenders to justice.”

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless
