Former Oologah-Talala accused of making inappropriate comments to students

OOLAGAH, Okla. – A former assistant basketball coach for the Oolagah-Talala School District is no longer employed at the school after he allegedly made sexually suggestive comments to students.

A multicounty grand jury indicted 30-year-old Trent Winters with six counts of uttering obscene language in a public place on February 5.

According to reports, 30-year-old Trent Winters was accused of making those comments to middle school girls while working as an assistant basketball coach.

Some of the comments he made included telling the girls that his favorite condom was “Fire and Ice.” He also allegedly said that he enjoyed having sex with multiple girls in one night.

Winters also bragged that he took his wife’s virginity when she was a freshman in high school and he was a senior.

During basketball practice, the man allegedly touched one of the girls “on or around the breast.” He asked her if she liked it, and that there was more where that came from.

Several students reported that Winters was known as “Coach Perv.”

Reports state that Winters resigned from his position as a basketball coach at Braggs in 2016 after he was accused of cyberbullying. The man was allegedly involved in a Facebook Messenger group with other students; the participates made disparaging comments about other students, some of which were purported to be sexual in nature.

He was hired at Oolagah-Talala in 2018 alongside his father, the head girls basketball coach.

Winters is being charged with six counts of uttering obscene language in public. His bond was set at $10,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on March 29, 2021.
