A Broken Arrow woman who had been banned
from a Catoosa casino was arrested when security
found her inside the establishment with a baggy
full of meth. Her excuse? Nature was calling and
she needed to answer! Because apparently, the casino was the only place around with restrooms.
On January 23, casino security contacted Catoosa police shortly after 9:30 a.m., because they
had detained a woman who was banned from the
location. According to the affidavit, security told
an officer they found Erica Soliz Wilder, 27, in the
casino. Security said Wilder had been banned from
the gambling den, and she wasn’t supposed to be
there.
When the officer met with Wilder, she told him
she knew she was banned, but she was just “wanting to go inside and use the
bathroom.”
The officer checked the woman’s records, and he was advised that she was a
wanted woman.
Wilder had multiple warrants for her arrest, and warrants weren’t the only
thing Wilder had.
The officer placed her under arrest for the warrants, but he then conducted a
search of her person. In her purse, he found a clear bag that contained a crystallike substance. The substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
The officer put Wilder in his patrol car and transported her to the Rogers County Jail.
Wilder is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance
and trespassing after being forbidden. Her bond was set at $3,500, and she is
scheduled to appear in court on February 23, 2015.

When a Vinita intruder was caught prowling
around a house on January 20, he tried to act like
he was the homeowner. Too bad the homeowner
caught him.
Shortly after 2 p.m., a Vinita officer was dispatched to the 400 block of North Smith Street in
reference to an intruder. When he arrived, he saw
two men sitting on the front porch; he recognized
one as 27-year-old Joseph Leonard Lindbloom.
The other man told the officer he found Lindbloom in his room when he got home from work.
He said he asked Lindbloom why he was in his
house. Lindbloom told the man, “Because I live
here.”
The man noticed Lindbloom was carrying some paperwork that had been on
his desk. Lindbloom agreed to stay at the residence until police arrived.
According to the police report, Lindbloom “was clearly pretending to be disoriented as to his current location in an attempt to get out of charges.”
The officer asked him why he was in the residence. Lindbloom said, “What
residence?”
The officer noticed the man was holding something in his pocket. Lindbloom
refused to remove his hands from the pocket, so the officer placed him in handcuffs and patted him down. He found a silver IPod in the man’s pocket. The
homeowner said, “That’s my daughter’s!”
When the officer asked Lindbloom why the IPod was in his pocket, he refused
to answer.
The homeowner was able to unlock the IPod with a password, proving ownership. The officer placed Lindbloom under arrest and transported him to jail.
At the jail, Lindbloom was “very unruly and uncooperative,” including refusing to get out of the car, not wanting to get dressed, etc. He refused to speak to
officers regarding the incident.
Lindbloom is being charged with burglary in the second degree and knowingly
concealing stolen property. His bond was set at $30,000, and he is scheduled to
appear in court on February 27, 2015.

A Tahlequah woman was taken to the hospital Jan. 24 after she was severely
beaten for speaking out against drinking and driving.
Brian Joseph Osburn, 28, was taken into custody Feb. 9; he was charged Jan.
28 with aggravated assault and battery in Cherokee County District Court.
According to the probable cause affidavit, deputies were called to the area of
Highway 51 and Welling Road for an intoxicated female. When they arrived,
someone had already taken her to the hospital because she had been severely
beaten.
One deputy went to the hospital to speak with the victim and one deputy went
to the mobile home on E. 775 Road where the incident occurred. The deputy
found no one at the residence, so he joined the other deputy at the hospital.
The victim told deputies she was at a friend’s house where several people, including herself, were drinking and doing meth, when she and Osburn got into a
verbal confrontation that turned physical.
Witnesses to the altercation said it all began when someone offered to take
Osborn home. The victim spoke up and said she didn’t think it was a good idea,
since that person had been drinking. She and Osburn then begin to argue and
the victim pushed Osburn. The argument then escalated. After the victim hit Osburn with a frying pan, he hit her again and she fell to the floor, hitting her head
on the stove as she went down. Osborn then continued to beat the victim, even
though she was passed out cold on the floor.
The victim suffered a concussion, a shattered nose, a left eye fracture that required surgery, and a cracked and swollen larynx. The victim told the deputy
that the injury to her eye was so severe, she may become blind.
Bond was set at $15,000 for Osborn and he was ordered back to court March
25 at 9 a.m.

A Pryor couple faces felony animal cruelty charges after
police found several dogs on their property in emaciated
condition.
Charles Warren, 22, and Jennifer Warren, 23, were
both charged with animal cruelty Jan. 28 in Mayes County District Court.
According to the probable cause affidavit, a Mayes
County deputy was called to Plantation Estates on Nov.
11, 2014, to check on a report of possibly neglected dogs.
When he arrived at the home, he was met with several
healthy pit bull dogs. The officer asked if there were more
dogs in their care, and they showed him several more
healthy pit bull dogs and a little dog.
About that time, the deputy noticed a Great Dane come
out of a large dog house and it was obviously not healthy.
The deputy wrote in his report that he “could see every
rib on the dog’s rib cage, its stomach area was shrunken,”
and he “could see every vertebrae of its back bone and the
dog’s eyes were sunken into its head.” He also stated that
the way the dog drank its water “did not appear normal
to me.”
In another part of the yard, the deputy found another
Great Dane in just as bad shape, if not worse, than the
first.
The dogs were taken into custody for their well being.
The next day, a vet told the deputy the dogs were suffering from malnutrition and possibly worms. He said
the dogs should make a full recovery with a little TLC and
proper nutrition.

A Sallisaw woman who overstayed her welcome at a local motel was arrested after police
found rolling papers and Oxycodone hidden under her shirt.
On January 21, Sallisaw officers were dispatched to the motel at approximately 2 p.m. due
to a customer that wouldn’t leave the premises. According to the affidavit, an employee told
the officers the tenants in one of the rooms had not paid for the night before, and they were
refusing to leave the property.
Police went to the room and spoke to the couple inside. The couple appeared to be very
nervous and uncomfortable while speaking to the officers. They said they had been staying
there for about a week, and they didn’t have the money for one more night. Officers told the
couple to gather up their things and step outside.
An officer saw the woman, 28-year-old Brooke Ashley Byrd, stick something under her
shirt. As the couple left the room, he smelled a strong odor of marijuana. He asked the couple
if they had been smoking. Byrd told him she had smoked a cigarillo earlier.
The officer then asked her if that’s what she had put up her shirt. She told him no, she had
hid her cigarettes. He asked for the cigarettes, and she handed them over. The cigarette pack
contained rolling papers and an Oxycodone pill.
Byrd told the officer she didn’t know what the items were, and she didn’t know who they
belonged to.
The officer placed her under arrest and transported her to jail.
Byrd is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance. She was released on a $6,000 bond, and she is scheduled to appear in court on February 25, 2015.

Jay man Raymond Douglas Eastep, 54, became
angry and tried to spit on an officer during sobriety tests in the early morning hours of January 30.
He also threatened and growled at police officers.
According to the affidavit, a Grove police officer
was driving eastbound on 13th Street and had just
passed Shundi Street when he saw a truck with
one headlight shortly after midnight. The officer turned around and drove behind the vehicle.
When he saw the truck travel left of center, he activated his emergency lights. The vehicle traveled
past 18th Street and eventually pulled over onto a
gravel path.
The officer walked up to the driver’s side, and
asked the driver, identified as Eastep, for his license and insurance. Eastep asked the officer in
slurred speech if he pulled him over because of his
headlight. The officer told him that was one of the
reasons.
Eastep’s eyes were bloodshot and watery, and
he smelled strongly of alcohol. He admitted to having “a couple.”
The officer asked the man to step out of his vehicle so he could make sure he was okay to
drive. Eastep said he understood, and he exited his truck on unsteady feet.
The officer tried to administer sobriety tests, but Eastep became angry and told the officer
he was being disrespectful.
When it came to the one-leg test, Eastep became belligerent and yelled, “I’ve had too much
to drink!” He then started making threats that he was going to assault the officer. The officer
placed him under arrest.
The officer tried to read the man implied consent, but Eastep just told him repeatedly, “Go
f--- yourself.” Eastep then tried to spit on the officer and kept saying he was going to hurt
him and other officers. Eastep also kept growling at anyone who went near him.
Eastep is being charged with attempted transfer of bodily fluids on state employee, assault
and battery on police officer and driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. His bond was set at $3,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on March 6, 2015.

A Tulsa woman arrested on suspicion of DUI has apparently discovered
a new type of diabetes -- or she might
have been lying about her syringes.
Jenifer Jean Berryman, 38, was arrested January 19 after officers responded to a vehicle collision and
found syringes in her purse.
According to the affidavit, Coweta
police were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision at Sycamore and South Broadway around 6:50 p.m. When they
arrived, they found two vehicles on opposite sides of Broadway.
One of the drivers, later identified as Berryman, started to drive forward, but
the other driver involved approached her and told her to stop.
An officer asked Berryman to exit her vehicle. She grabbed her purse and sat
on the curb.
When asked what had happened, Berryman told an officer she must have fallen asleep and driven across the center line, hitting a parked car.
While they were speaking, the officer noticed Berryman’s eyes were bloodshot
and glossy, and she smelled like alcohol. She denied drinking, however, and she
also refused taking sobriety tests and a breath test.
The officer checked Berryman’s information, and dispatch advised she had
a suspended driver’s license and previous alcohol-related driving offenses. He
placed her under arrest and transported her to jail.
During booking, officers conducted an inventory of Berryman’s property, and
they found an open bottle of vodka, six syringes, two spoons with residue and
burn marks and three baggies containing a white powdered residue. The residue tested positive for methamphetamine.
When an officer asked Berryman about the syringes, she told him she had
“type C diabetes.”
Berryman is being charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the influence, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, driving with license
suspended, transporting opened container of beer and unlawful possession of
drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $7,500, and she is scheduled to appear
in court on February 11, 2015.
