NO WHERE TO RUN
The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office would
like to provide a little more information about the incident that happened on April 29.
Earlsboro Police Department was dispatched that
night to the Valero at I-40 and Valleyview for a vehicle theft that just occurred.
Dispatch told units responding the vehicle description and direction of travel. They also informed
us there were children inside the vehicle.
While units were responding, we received another
call about an accident at Highway 3 and Econtuchka Road. Dispatch told us there were children in the
vehicle and the driver fled on foot.
Once in the area, Officer Hicks from the Absentee
Shawnee Tribal Police Department verified it was the
same vehicle, a manhunt then ensued.
Lieutenant Strand arrived after several agencies were on the scene. Lieutenant
Strand was assisted by Sgt. Hill from Shawnee Police Department with setting up
a perimeter where a resident witnessed the suspect in his garage.
Deputy Beckham deployed Canine Onyx and began a track for the suspect
after we received information he was running through a field. Officers from Citizen
Potawatomi Nation assisted him.
Eventually, Jeremy Loving was identified as the suspect by Earlsboro Police.
The manhunt continued with several agencies assisting. Loving was witnessed
to be on the side of the road on Highway 3 in Seminole County. Seminole County
Deputies and Seminole Police Officers, who were already assisting with the manhunt went to the area, located Loving and took him into custody.
We would like to thank Pottawatomie County Emergency Management for
bringing their drone, Absentee Shawnee Police, Citizen Potawatomi Nation Police, Shawnee OK Police Department, Maud Police Department, REACT Ambulance Service, Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, Seminole Police Department, and
Seminole Police Departments K9
handler, who responded from his
residence to help us.
This was a huge team effort to
get someone in custody, who endangered the lives of children and
the public.
Thankfully the children and
mother are ok.
Jeremy Loving is being held on
a $35,000 bond for Larceny of a
motor vehicle, kidnapping, and
assault and battery on a peace
officer.
This is an arrest, not a conviction. All subjects are innocent until
proven guilty.

10 | MAY 2022 Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty JOHNSTON COUNTY
CASES SOLVED, FUGITIVE CAUGHT
Two stolen vehicle cases were solved, and two wanted fugitives caught together after a foot pursuit.
Another stolen vehicle was recovered out of the City of Ada.
On April 13, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office received calls from citizens in Milburn stating wanted
fugitive, Anthony Themins, was at the Milburn store. We received information prior to our arrival that Themins left the store in a red and black Chevy Blazer. One of the callers was able to also inform us Themins
was accompanied by another male subject.
Deputy Ty Richerson arrived in the area and located the vehicle behind a residence on Chickasaw Street
in Milburn. Deputy Richerson was able identified Themins. Upon pulling up to that location, Themins and
an unknown subject fled on foot into a wooded area. At this same time Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper
Colby Murray, Sheriff Gary Dodd and Undersheriff Christian Smith were arriving in the area.
Sheriff Dodd located the suspect’s running through the woods next to a residence near the intersection
of 9th and E Ave. A foot pursuit ensued and Undersheriff Smith saw the chase and joined the pursuit.
Sheriff Dodd ran down Themins in the backyard of a residence, while Undersheriff Smith ran down the
other unknown suspect in a yard further to the west.
Deputies who worked the initial scene of the stolen vehicles were able to collect crucial evidence. This
allowed us to develop persons of interest.
After the capture of the suspects, evidence was present that directly identified Themins as the person
who stole the two vehicle in the Milburn area. One of the stolen trucks was recovered a short distance from
where it was stolen, and the other truck was recovered in the City of Ada.
During the investigation, it was also discovered the red and black Chevy Blazer was reported stolen
from the City of Ada. An interview conducted by Sheriff Dodd at the scene yielded a confession from
Themins. He confessed to stealing the two vehicles in the Milburn area and also the vehicle from Ada.
It was also discovered the second suspect caught was wanted fugitive Michael Cheairs. If you’ll remember Cheairs was wanted on several charges in which he lead a Tishomingo Police Officer and a
Johnston County Deputy on a dangerous vehicle pursuit from Tishomingo to Ada on March 21st. That
pursuit resulted in a Tishomingo Police Officer and a Johnston County Deputy shooting at Cheairs due to
the deadly force he was using against them and others.
Cheairs was able to evade capture that night but was arrested in Texas about a week later. However,
no hold could be placed as warrants from the Chickasaw Nation Prosecutors Office had not yet been
issued. We are very happy Cheairs is now behind bars here in Johnston County, and will hopefully be held
accountable for his crimes he committed within the Chickasaw Nation, Johnston and Pontotoc Counties,
Oklahoma.
Sergeant Alyson Orr-Dodd and Deputy Tiffany Dease also arrived and assist in the investigation, arrest
and recovery of this stolen vehicle. Both Themins and Cheair were transported to the Johnston County
Jail on multiple felon charges.
“I am very proud for the investigative work done by our Deputies and extremely pleased these two thieving fugitive outlaws are captured! I am also very thankful no Citizens or Deputies were injured in a situation
which could have turned out very bad. Chasing and confronting evil is a very dangerous business, but we
are relentless and will not wavier in our pursuit of criminals and serving the Citizens of this great County
and beyond. A huge thank you to the outstanding Citizens who called us leading to these two criminal
captures. We continue to be successful because of your support!”

AROUND THE AREA
On April 26, agents and officers from several departments served a Search
Warrant at a marijuana growing operation located at 29225 Dustin Road in
Henryetta, tied to an investigation into criminal marijuana trafficking.
“During this investigation, evidence shows large loads of marijuana being
moved off this property and trafficked out of state onto the illicit market,”
Mark Woodward, Spokesman for the the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics
(OBN), said.
Woodward added that tens of thousands of plants had been seized and 28
workers were detained and interviewed. The investigation involved the OBN,
FBI, DEA, District 25 Drug Task Force, Creek Nation Lighthorse Police, and
Oklahoma City Police Department.
Woodward said arrests are pending as this investigation is on-going. We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

SUSPECTS SENTENCED IN OSBI OIL FIELD
THEFT IN ALFALFA COUNTY
Two suspects in an Oklahoma State Bureau
of Investigation (OSBI) oil field theft investigation
have received a combined sentence of 57 years
in prison.
The OSBI was requested by the Alfalfa County
Sheriff’s Office to assist with the investigation on
July 21, 2021. Two days before, the sheriff’s office had arrested 50-year-old Neal Scrimsher and
34-year-old Harold Willson after receiving a tip
that the pair was driving around the county with a
trailer full of oil field equipment and copper wire.
Because of ongoing oil field thefts in Alfalfa and
Grant counties, the sheriff requested assistance
from the OSBI’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU).
In January of 2022, Scrimsher plead no contest to one charge of Knowingly Concealing
Stolen Property. In March he received a 27-year
sentence to be served in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. Willson plead guilty to one
charge of Knowingly Concealing Stolen Property in March 2022 and received a sentence of 30
years to be served in the Oklahoma Department
of Corrections.

MOM’S PLACE
A 21-year-old Prague man was arrested after he allegedly fired a gun into his mother’s
house on April 20.
According to the police report, a Seminole
police officer was dispatched to a residence
in the 200 block of West Gale at approximately 2:54 p.m. to investigate a shooting.
When he arrived at the location, dispatch advised that the suspect was leaving the area in
a black truck.
The officer saw two men getting into a
black truck. He told them to exit the vehicle.
One of the men was identified as Ryan Macay
Gahagan.
The officer checked the men for weapons
and asked them what was going on. While
speaking to the men, the officer saw a shotgun in plain view on the passenger seat of the truck; it was loaded.
The officer also smelled marijuana and saw a bag of weed and some paraphernalia on the floorboard.
A woman at the location told the officer that her son, identified as Gahagan,
showed up at her house and started shooting outside her home. She said she
tried to take cover inside her house, but Gahagan kicked down the door and
fired inside the residence.
The officer could see where Gahagan fired inside the residence - there were
buckshot marks on the wall.
Gahagan told the officer that he went to his mother’s residence to check
on her because her boyfriend had been beating her up. He said he was just
trying to take care of her. He added that he didn’t go to the house to kill his
mother’s boyfriend.
The officer placed Gahagan under arrest and transported him to jail.
Gahagan is being charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and felony discharging a firearm into dwelling. His bond was set at $30,000, and he
was scheduled to appear in court on May 5, 2022.

Could she be a tater hater?
On April 9, at 10:00 p.m., Tulsa Police Officers were called out to the Sonic near 59th
and S. Lewis in Tulsa for an assault with a
weapon.
After investigating and talking with multiple
witnesses, officers learned the incident started with Stacy Minihan sitting in a Ford Expedition at one of the stalls at Sonic.
When the carhop delivered Minihan’s food,
Minihan became very upset because the
order took too long. As the carhop tried to
explain the restaurant was short staffed, witnesses saw Minihan get out of the car, slap
the tray of food out of the carhop’s hand, then
punch the carhop in the chest.
Another witness followed Minihan attempting to get her license plate. Minihan then pulled over her car, got out, and shot that witness in the face with
her Kimber Pepperblaster pepper ball gun. This victim was hit multiple times
and bleeding from the head.
Minihan drove to a nearby Quiktrip where Officers caught up with her and
placed her under arrest. Officers recovered the pepper ball gun (pictured),
nearly 30 grams of meth (pictured), and other drug paraphernalia.
Minihan was arrested for:
- Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapons
- Assault & Battery
- Trafficking Meth
This is an arrest, not a conviction.
**No word on what exactly was in that Sonic order or if any tater tots were
injured.

PICK YOUR POISON
A 30-year-old Stratford man was arrested
after he caused a road rage incident involving
an off-duty Ada police officer on April 7.
Kenneth Leon Veach II was allegedly under
the influence of drugs at the time of the incident.
According to reports, the off-duty officer stopped near the intersection of 12th
and Center to let his wife out of the vehicle.
Veach started honking at him and was acting
very aggressively. He then pulled around the
off-duty officer’s vehicle and stopped in front
of him. Veach exited his vehicle and threw a
water bottle that contained a red substance
at the officer. The bottle hit the front of the
officer’s car.
Veach left the scene, but the off-duty officer followed him to the East Central University campus. Veach got out of his vehicle and went into a building.
The off-duty officer informed Veach that police officers were on their way to
the location.
While investigating the incident, an Ada officer was informed that Veach had
a warrant for his arrest through the city of Ada. The officer also observed that
Veach appeared to be very nervous. He was talking fast, had uncontrollable
movements in his jaw, had dry mouth, and there was dried saliva around the
corners of the man’s mouth.
Veach said he didn’t throw anything at the off-duty officer’s vehicle. He told
police that he had video of the incident, but after looking for the video evidence, he couldn’t find it.
Veach is being charged with driving under the influence of drugs. His bond
was set at $1,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on July 5, 2022.
