Colorado LGBTQ+ nightclub shooting leads to five deaths and multiple injured

A mass shooting at a Colorado Springs at Club Q, an LGBTQ+ nightclub, resulted in at least five deaths and 25 wounded.

According to Colorado authorities, the suspect is a 22-year-old male currently in custody.

The gunman, identified as Anderson Lee Adlrich, allegedly entered Club Q right before midnight on Saturday and opened fire with a rifle.

Aldrich was then confronted by clubgoers who managed to prevent the suspect from causing more destruction.

Police are investigating this attack, and according to Colorado Springs Police Department’s media briefing, they have yet to declare this tragedy a hate crime.

After the mass shooting, Colorado Springs Police Department will host a three-day Community Resource Expo to include mental health resources, emotional support animals, meals, and more. (Colorado Springs Police Department)
