TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa Police Department received a peculiar call regarding nude imagery on May 1, 2023, at about 4:00 p.m. The call came from an apartment community on 71st and Sheridan, where police were dispatched for further investigation.
It was a typical workday for staff at the apartment complex, with typical tenant interaction, future tenant visits, etc. One of those potential tenants was Staijeck Helm, who was simply looking to apply for an apartment. Or was he?
Helm was guided to one of the computers to fill out his application. He was peacefully filling out the application when the staff suddenly noticed two AirDrop notifications from another iPhone nearby.
The employees decided to accept the images, curious to know what was on the other end of that AirDrop. They found something unexpected. AirDropped were photos of Helm completely nude, standing in front of a mirror, and images of his genitalia, according to Tulsa PD.
Helm was arrested for digital indecent exposure and charged on May 5.
Perhaps Helm misunderstood the questions on that application. Did he think nudes would help him qualify for a future abode? Was it an accident? Did he intentionally want to engage in digital flashing? We may never know.
