Frolicking with monkeys and sharing Hot Cheetos lands El Paso woman behind bars

EL PASO, Texas – An El Paso woman lost her job and was arrested after allegedly joining monkeys at El Paso Zoo to share a snack.

El Paso police are not monkeying around with 26-year-old Luz Elizabeth Rae after a video surfaced of Rae entering a zoo exhibit.

Rae is seen in the video climbing into the spider monkey enclosure with a waterfall and throwing food at the spider monkeys.

According to reports, the snack was identified as the popular Flaming Hot Cheetos. 

El Paso Police’s press release stated that “The woman seen on social media in a video trespassing into an El Paso Zoo monkey exhibit enclosure treading across murky water has been arrested.” (City of El Paso News Release)
