JURY IN DELIBERATION AS GHISLAINE MAXWELL TRIAL COMES TO AN END

New York, NY — The trial for Ghislaine Maxwell’s sex trafficking case may see an end shortly, as jurors have started their first day of deliberations this morning.
Maxwell is being charged with six federal counts, all of which she pleads not guilty. The counts range from conspiracy, to sex trafficking of a minor, and enticing a minor to travel to engage in illegal sex acts. (CNN).
Maxwell was known to be a close associate of Jeffery Epstein, who was also being faced with some of the same charges. Epstein died in his jail cell before going to trial. Maxwell has been in jail since she was arrested in July 2020, the whole time without bail. (Newon6).
The prosecution called two dozen witnesses to testify before both sides gave their closing statements Monday morning. Including women who testified about being abused when they were teenagers by Epstein, and Maxwell being there to help. The jury has already asked for three of the testimony transcripts of these women.
If the jury has not come to a verdict by Wednesday of this week, they will reconvene after the holiday weekend. If Maxwell is convicted guilty on all six counts, she could face up to 70 years
in prison. (CNN).
