EDMOND, Okla. – The University of Oklahoma is in the news today, not for their educational value but due to one of their associate professor’s alleged involvement with installing hidden cameras in a 14-year-old girl’s home, including her room.
Allan Wiechmann, 66, was served a search warrant and later arrested for indecent or lewd acts with a minor. Admitting to placing the camera in the teen’s room, Wiechmann also shared his fantasies with investigators that revolved around voyeurism.
Wiechmann’s timeline of offenses ranges from 2013 to 2021. According to Yahoo! News, the OU professor “was issued a $600,000 bond.” Investigators located several pairs of female underwear in Weichmann’s safe, adding further concern of other potential victims.
Court documents report that the teenage girl’s mother found images of her daughter’s bedroom on the OU professor’s phone. He evidently admitted to the mother that he had placed a camera in her daughter’s room, expressing his motive of bonding with her. Investigators learned from Wiechmann that the cameras might have been in the girl’s room for at least two weeks before discovery, per MSN news.
Oklahoma University placed Weichmann on administrative leave due to the allegations. Edmond Police suspect more than one victim and ask that the public report any involvement at Wiechmann’s home.
