Police say suspect intentionally collided stolen ambulance with a Texas DPS trooper

LA SALLE COUNTY, Texas – A Texas DPS Trooper was injured following a crash of a stolen ambulance.

On Friday, May 7th, Webb County Sheriff’s Office notified the Texas Department of Public Safety of a stolen Angel Care Ambulance.

The suspect allegedly stole the ambulance from a tourist center.

An Encinal police officer attempted to pull over the ambulance on Interstate 35 with no luck.

At that point, a pursuit was initiated, and multiple agencies assisted, including local, state, and federal authorities.

Authorities say the suspect tried to avoid officers in their pursuit by intentionally colliding with a DPS trooper.

The suspect hit the trooper’s marked unit off of I-35 and FM 133.

The trooper was airlifted to a San Antonio hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities arrested the ambulance thief who also went to the hospital. (LMT Online)
