Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty 3 | AUGUST 2020 CANADIAN COUNTY
HOUSE OF PAIN
On July 14, 2020 Investigators with the Canadian
County Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael Brooks, a
25-year-old male, of El Reno, on the charges of forcible
sodomy and lewd acts with a child under the age of 16.
The investigation began after the victim’s mother
called the sheriff’s office on July 10, 2020 to report the
crimes. After the call from the mother, the sheriff’s office received additional calls from people who were concerned the child was being sexually abused by another
individual residing in the home. These reports came from
school officials and other people in the community who
were concerned about the child’s welfare.
Sheriff’s Investigators conducted forensic interviews of
the victim where they were advised by the victim that sexual abuse had been occurring for about a year. During the interview the victim described being raped,
and was also forced to perform oral sex on Brooks. The victim described these
acts occurring frequently and describing the abuse happening almost every night
for a year. She said Brooks would barricade the door while he sexually abused her
in his bedroom and would burn the condoms afterwards to destroy the evidence.
The mother of the victim claims she did not know about the sexual abuse until
recently. She setup a go fund me page to help buy new clothes for the victim because most of the clothes the girl had were provided by Brooks. This go fund me
page was also reported to Canadian County Sheriff’s Office by concerned educators from the School the victim attended. The go fund me page describes how the
victim needs money to buy items since she was a victim of sexual abuse.
Investigators also determined the living conditions of the victim’s residence was
horrible and unfit for children to live in. Investigators saw fecal matter, roaches,
urine stains, and trash scattered throughout the residence. Investigators said they
noticed the children’s clothing even had urine stains on them. Investigators also
said the children had not been bathed for quite a while and were in need of proper
hygiene. Investigators also described the residence as extremely hot, with no
working air conditioner.
Investigators obtained a court order to remove the children from the home and
placed them into state custody for their personal welfare and safety. The order was
granted due to the living conditions the children were forced to live in. Canadian
County Sheriff’s Deputies testified before a judge and the Canadian County District
Attorney’s office argued for the removal of the children from the home, however
DHS did not offer any assistance or advocate for the removal of the children.
Canadian County Sheriff’s office learned from a concerned educator from the
child’s school, there were multiple referrals to DHS based on the sanitary and living conditions the children were in. The school reported how the children did not
appear to have proper hygiene and was even bullied by their peers due to lack
of hygiene and dirty clothes. Concerned educators were upset that nothing was
ever done to help these children and believe if DHS intervened properly this abuse
would have been detected earlier.
“I’m extremely grateful for the concern of the school staff and other citizens who
were concerned enough about this little girl’s safety to call, but I’m dumbfounded
as to why DHS had not taken a serious look into the matter. If they had, maybe
the poor child wouldn’t have had to suffer the continuous sexual battery and abuse
that she did for over a year,” said Chris West, Canadian County Sheriff.
Michael Brooks was transported to the Canadian County Jail and currently is
being held on no bond. Investigators are continuing their investigation and more
charges may be submitted to the Canadian County District Attorney’s Office.

ASSAULT ON POLICE OFFICER
Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty 9 | AUGUST 2020 CUSTER COUNTY
The Arapaho man who shot and killed his estranged wife in front of two children last year has
been sentenced to life without the possibility of
parole after he pleaded guilty last month to the
crime.
On Saturday, April 20, 2019, the Custer County
Sheriff’s Office requested OSBI assistance with
a homicide that occurred in the 100 block of S.
10th Street in Arapaho. At 6:30 p.m., the Arapaho
Police Department and the Custer County Sheriff’s Department answered a shots fired call at the
convenience store where Brandon Benevento, 40,
and his ex-wife Heather Park, were supposed to
be doing a custody exchange. Upon arrival, officers found Park in her vehicle shot multiple times. Park was transported
to the Clinton Hospital, and later flown to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma
City, where she died of her injuries.
That same evening, Benevento was taken into custody and charged with
Park’s murder.
On July 28, Benevento pleaded guilty in the District Court of Custer
County to the murder of Heather Park. Benevento received a sentence of
life in prison without the possibility of parole.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty WASHITA COUNTY 11 | AUGUST 2020
soirée gone wrong
Two Elk City residents were placed under arrest
after attending a party on July 15.
According to the affidavit, a Washita County
deputy was dispatched to 1120 and 2080 Road in
the early morning hours to investigate an assault.
A man at the scene had severe trauma to his head,
and his mouth was bloodied and swollen. He also
had a swollen eye and was covered in blood.
The man said he went to a party nearby. He
remembered getting to the party, but he doesn’t
know what happened after that. His brother had
picked him up as he was walking down the road.
While they were talking, a white car drove past.
The victim said that car had been at the party.
The deputy spoke to the woman who hosted the
party. She said that the victim wasn’t injured when
he left her house. She told the deputy that she, the
victim, Madison Grace Kerr, 19, and 24-year-old
Brandon Emmanuel McGuire were the only ones
at the party.
The deputy left the residence and saw the car
that had driven past him when he was speaking to
the victim. He stopped the car and made contact
with the driver, identified as Kerr.
The deputy noticed some blood on the car’s door handle. He also noticed that Kerr had a cut above her left eye and a small wound on her left
hand. She told him that her puppy had caused the injuries.
The deputy explained to Kerr that her vehicle had been identified as being at the party. She said she had gone to the party and was headed back
to get her cellphone.
While speaking to her, the deputy also noticed some blood on the passenger side door and seat. He also smelled the odor of alcohol.
Kerr refused to exit her vehicle and told the deputy several times that
this had nothing to do with her. Other officers arrived to assist, and Kerr

A Florida Man who had cocaine on his nose
when the vehicle he was traveling in was
stopped by police told arresting officers that the
drug was not his, investigators say.
Fabricio Jimenez, 20, was a passenger in a
car that was pulled over during a 3:45 AM traffic stop in Tampa.
When a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office
deputy approached the auto, the female cop
“immediately noticed Jimenez had a white
powdery substance on his nose she recognized to be powder cocaine,” according to investigators.
Jimenez’s nose was subsequently swabbed
by police and a field test returned a positive result for the presence of cocaine in the sample.
Deputies photographed Jimenez and his dusty
nose during the traffic stop.
A search of Jimenez’s shoes yielded a small bag of cocaine, while police also
seized a backpack containing 250 grams of marijuana and 13 Xanax pills.
Jimenez, arrested on three felony narcotics possession charges, “attempted
to tell the deputies the cocaine on his nose was not his,” according to the sheriff’s
office.
It does not appear Jimenez offered an explanation as to how someone else’s
cocaine got into his nose.
Jimenez is also facing probation violation charges in connection with his conviction last year on cocaine and marijuana charges. After pleading guilty to three
felonies, Jimenez was sentenced in November to two years probation and ordered to perform 50 hours of community service.
Jimenez was arrested last August following a traffic stop in Tampa. Cops found
11 bags of pot and 4 bags of cocaine in a backpack inside the 2009 Honda
Accord (Jimenez was alone in the car). Jimenez, cops reported, “admitted the
marijuana and cocaine belonged to him, and he sells the marijuana for additional
money.”

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children, taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children receive
public assistance and their parents pay no child support, all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

Enid man James Anthony Cramer, 41, is
facing three felony charges after playing a
lewd game of truth or dare with three girls in
June.
According to reports, someone reported
the allegations to police on June 6. The person accused Cramer of being sexually inappropriate with three girls, aged 14, 13 and 12.
The report stated that Cramer drove three
girls to Oklahoma City and played a game of
“dirty truth or dare” on the way. The allegations said one of the girls performed fellatio
on him. Cramer also dared all three girls to
take off their clothes.
Cramer was arrested in mid-July for the
charges.
During an interview, Cramer admitted to police that he asked the girls to
show him their breasts. He also offered them $20 each to clean his Enid
residence.
The girls told him they wanted to go skating, so he also offered them $5
more if they showed him their breasts. He said the girls went into his room
one by one and exposed themselves to him.
Cramer also confirmed that one of the girls performed fellatio on him. He
said that incident occurred just outside of Yukon.
On June 11, the investigator spoke to the 14-year-old victim to see where
the incident occurred so the appropriate agency could look into the allegations, but she was unable to tell him where it happened.
Cramer is being charged with three counts of lewd or indecent acts to child
under 16. His bond was set at $50,000, and he is scheduled to appear in
court on August 24, 2020.

Schlup arrested for shooting
girlfriend’s dad
Goltry man Dylan Edward Schlup, 18, allegedly shot his girlfriend’s dad in the leg during an
altercation on July 11.
According to reports, an Alva officer was dispatched to 14th and Choctaw around 12:30
a.m. to investigate a shooting. The shooting allegedly took place in the parking lot adjacent to
the Alva Municipal Swimming Pool.
When the officer arrived, he found a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound in his
left thigh. The man told the officer that he tried
to talk to his daughter, who was in a vehicle sitting in a parking lot with her boyfriend. He said
he and the boyfriend started arguing. At some
point, the boyfriend, identified as Schlup, took
out a gun and shot the man in the leg.
The officer spoke to Schlup, who said that the victim had tried to open the
passenger side door of his vehicle where his girlfriend was sitting. Schlup told
the man to leave several times and that his daughter didn’t want to speak to
him.
Schlup said he exited his vehicle with a rifle and fired a warning shot into the
air. The victim then charged him, so he fired a second shot, hitting the man
in the leg.
Schlup said the victim punched him in the face, and they started fighting
before the victim fell to the ground due to his wound. Schlup didn’t have any
visible injuries on his face.
The victim’s daughter said she and Schlup saw her father’s car parked
near her house. Her mom has a protective order against the man, so she and
Schlup went to confront him. They wanted to tell him to leave town and stay
away from her mother. She admitted that her boyfriend shot her father in the
leg during the confrontation.
Schlup is being charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. His bond was set at $14,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on
August 11, 2020.
schlup We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless
