Grand Jury Charges Man in Bank
Robbery Spree, including Yukon bank
Dwayne Edward Rasmussen, 55, has been
indicted on four counts of bank robbery, announced U.S. Attorney Timothy J. Downing.
According to a superseding indictment returned by a federal grand jury today, Rasmussen
robbed four banks in the course of two months:
the Weokie Credit Union at 2727 Southwest 15th
Street in Oklahoma City on March 5, 2019; the
Bank of the West at 1600 Southwest 89th Street
in Oklahoma City on March 18, 2019; RCB Bank
at 800 Garth Brooks Boulevard in Yukon on April
5, 2019; and Community Bank of Oklahoma at
1227 West Grand Avenue in Chickasha on April
30, 2019.
An affidavit in support of a criminal complaint
filed on May 6, 2019, explains in connection with
the final robbery that Rasmussen entered the Chickasha branch of Community Bank of Oklahoma at approximately 9:15 a.m. on April 30, 2019, and
told a bank employee: “Give me all your 50’s and 100’s.” After the employee
complied, he allegedly said: “That’s not enough. Give me all your money.” He
is alleged to have taken virtually all the money from the three tellers’ drawers,
for a total reported loss of $10,474. The affidavit states that while he did this,
he brandished what appeared to be a pistol with a green grip.
Rasmussen was arrested on May 6 in downtown Oklahoma City and has
been in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service since that time.
If found guilty, Rasmussen faces a maximum potential penalty on each of
the four counts of twenty years in prison, three years of supervised release,
a fine of $250,000, and mandatory restitution. If, however, the court determines his criminal history includes two or more serious violent felonies, he
could be subject to mandatory life in prison.
This case is the result of an investigation by the FBI—Oklahoma City Field
Office, the Oklahoma City Police Department, the Yukon Police Department,
and the Chickasha Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Wilson D.
McGarry and Mary E. Walters are prosecuting the case.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty 13 | DECEMBER 2019 CUSTER COUNTY
Jason Scott Pedro, 37, of Clinton, has been
sentenced to 84 months in prison for being a felon
in possession of a firearm, announced U.S. Attorney Timothy J. Downing.
On April 16, 2019, a federal grand jury indicted
Pedro for possessing a firearm on February 7,
2019, during a traffic stop. In particular, he possessed a lower receiver of an AR-15-style rifle,
along with five loaded high-capacity magazines.
Pedro pleaded guilty on June 25, 2019.
On November 14, U.S. District Judge David L.
Russell sentenced Pedro to 84 months in prison,
an upward variance from an advisory sentencing
guideline range of 51 to 63 months. Pedro will
be required to serve three years on supervised release after his prison
term. This sentence was based, among other things, on the nature and
circumstances of the offense and the need to protect the public from further crimes of the defendant, whose criminal history includes two offenses
involving domestic violence.
This case is the result of an investigation by the Clinton Police Department and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Police are searching for a man who walked into a bank in Nebraska this week
and tried to open a checking account with a fake $1 million bill. Staff at the Pinnacle Bank branch in Lincoln reported the incident to police. The Lincoln Journal Star reports that bank employees say the man was adamant that the bill
was real despite tellers’ attempts to convince him otherwise. The man eventually left with the bill, but without a new account. Police are reviewing surveillance
video to try to identify the man. Police say they want to check on his welfare and
make sure he was not the victim of a crime. The largest denomination note ever
issued for public circulation was the $10,000 bill.
A Florida judge got to see more evidence than he expected when an accused
woman flashed her breasts in court. Susan Surrette, 54, was arrested for disorderly intoxication in Fort Lauderdale. She appeared in a Broward County bond
court via a video feed, NBC Miami reports. At one point during the hearing,
Judge John Hurley asked Surrette what she did for a living. She replied that she
worked as an escort and porn star under the name “Kayla Kupcakes.” During
the hearing, Surrette alleged she was the victim of police brutality and lifted up
her shirt to offer proof, according to WPTV. After her visual demonstration, Surrette told the judge she has a mental condition. Her attorney then told the
judge: “She’s somebody that needs help. She’s not going to get the help that
she needs at the jail,” according to WPLG. The judge ordered Surrette to pay
$100 bond and undergo a mental evaluation. Under the name Kayla Kupcakes,
Surrette has appeared in numerous adult films since 1998, including “Private
Stuffers 1,” “Sexcretaries” and “Mature Thunder Buns 1.”
When police in Largo, Florida, arrested Jeffrey Forrest Poole on charges of
violently resisting a police officer, the authorities made sure to list things like
his age, weight and address in his arrest report. Officers also included an alias
that Poole has allegedly used in the past ― and it’s pretty awesome, as well
as NSFW. Police were called to the 37-year-old suspect’s home on a reported domestic disturbance. When the officer arrived, according to the criminal
complaint, Poole exited his home and said, “I will beat every cop’s ass!” Then
Poole “raised his right fist and began to extend it towards my face in an attempt to strike me,” the arresting officer wrote, according to The Smoking Gun.
Since Poole was arrested and taken to the Pinellas County Jail, it is highly
unlikely he made good on his ass-kicking promise. Poole was charged with
assaulting a police officer and violently resisting a police officer. What makes
this case interesting beyond Pinellas County is one tiny detail: The criminal alias
Poole has previously used, one “Dickface Johnson.” That name showed up
because Poole was either asked if he had any alias or a record on file under that
name, according to brobible.com.
You know when you’re in an art gallery and you decide to steal one of the
paintings off the wall and then you can’t find a way to jam it into your sweatshirt because it’s a painting and large rectangular paintings don’t belong inside
sweatshirts? Hate it when that happens! Well, this art thief ran into a similar
problem. Luckily, the piece was recovered by gallery staff before the suspect
could escape with it. However, the would-be thief is still on the lam. Police in
the U.K. have released surveillance video in the hopes that viewers will be able
to help locate him. Probably won’t be difficult, given his general difficulty with
the concept of hiding.

breeze in the hair,
marijuana in the air
Two Weatherford women are facing drug
charges after a deputy found marijuana and
paraphernalia in their vehicle during a traffic
stop on November 16.
According to the police report, a Washita
deputy to the area of the 47-mile marker on
I-40 Westbound at approximately 9:55 p.m. to
investigate reports of a reckless driver. About
10 minutes later, he saw the suspect vehicle
travel over the white fog line on the shoulder of
the road several times. He turned on his lights
in an attempt to stop the vehicle.
The driver, 21-year-old Kasha Ryann McIntyre, switched from the outside lane to the inside lane and out again
before pulling over to the shoulder. The passenger was identified as Emily
Karen Highfill, 20.
The driver’s and passenger’s windows were open, along with the sunroof.
When the deputy approached the car, he noticed the odor of marijuana.
He asked McIntyre to step out of the vehicle. She denied drinking or doing
any drugs.
The deputy then spoke to Highfill, who at first hesitated when he asked
her about the odor of weed in the car. She eventually opened up the glove
box and handed over a marijuana blunt. She told him there was a half a
blunt somewhere in the car, but it may have gone out the window.
When the deputy showed the blunt to Highfill, she admitted to smoking
marijuana prior to being pulled over.
The deputy administered standard field sobriety tests to the woman, but
she didn’t pass.
McIntyre’s mother was called to the scene to come get the woman’s
vehicle and Highfill. Prior to her arriving, the deputy searched the vehicle
for the other blunt, but he just found a marijuana grinder and some opened
bottles of liquor. Highfill told the deputy the grinder and booze belonged
to her.
On the way to jail, McIntyre told the deputy that this was only the second
time she had ever smoked and driven a car.
McIntyre is being charged with driving under the influence of drugs
and possession of controlled dangerous substance. Her bond was set
at $3,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on January 16, 2020.
Highfill is being charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set
at $1,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on February 13, 2020.

DECEMBER IS NATIONAL DRUNK AND
DRUGGED DRIVING PREVENTION MONTH
Deaths in crashes involving
drunk drivers with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08+
dropped in 2010, but despite this
decrease, there were still 10,228
lives lost – that’s one person every
51 minutes. That makes it everyone’s problem.
It seems that many people were
doing their part to put a stop to
this completely preventable epidemic. Alcohol-related traffic fatalities reached a low point in the late 1990s.
Research also indicates that 62% of Americans exposed to the now-iconic Friends Don’t Let Friends Drive Drunk campaign have personally intervened
to stop someone from driving drunk, no doubt saving countless lives.
However, since the late 90’s, alcohol-related driving deaths have been
steadily increasing. It seems that though the campaign was very successful, it did not change the behavior of many potential impaired drivers. Many
thought the messages to be targeted at overtly drunk drivers, and not them.
When decision time came, they would consider themselves merely “buzzed”
and get behind the wheel.
The new PSAs created to address this gap were released in December
2005 with the objective to inspire dialogue and recognition of the dangers of
“buzzed” driving and subsequently, to motivate people to stop driving buzzed.
The next installment expands on this message, equating buzzed driving and
drunk driving and demonstrating the devastating consequences that can occur as a result of buzzed driving. The overall campaign hopes to educate
people that consuming even a few drinks can impair driving and that Buzzed
Driving is Drunk Driving.
