Another one
bites the dust
A Yukon man was taken
into custody after he allegedly
went to meet up with an underage “girl” for sex in a WalMart parking lot.
Canadian County authorities arrested Nathan Jones,
34, on Jan. 10 in Mustang.
The underage “girl” Jones
met online was none other
than a Canadian County deputy posing undercover. The
deputy, as a 15-year-old girl
named Lacy, posted an online
ad which said she was “looking for friends”, according to
reports.
Jones allegedly asked the “girl” for nude photos, and
when the “girl” responded that it was too dangerous, he
said it was alright to send clothed photos instead. He
added he just needed “something to masturbate to.” In
the conversation, Jones mentioned choking and gaging
the “girl”.
Investigators set up a meeting with Jones and the “girl”
at the Wal-Mart parking lot in Mustang. When they identified him, deputies surrounded his van and arrested him.
Jones has been charged with soliciting sexual conduct
with a minor. Bond was set at $50,000.

Another New Year has come,
and with it, millions of people
have made resolutions to improve some aspect of their lives. Some
of these resolutions are doomed from the start for a multitude of
reasons. Even though successfully sticking with and accomplishing
a New Year’s resolution goal may not seem to directly relate to
driving safely, I’m going to try and give some tips on increasing
your ability to stick to a resolution, and tie it in to how it could
actually make you a safer driver!
Some of the more popular resolutions are to lose weight, get in
shape, or quit smoking. Each one of these are great goals. So to
achieve a goal, a person must clearly define the actual goal. For
quitting smoking, that one is pretty clearly defined as it is. For the
other, some more clarity is needed. How much weight do you want
to lose? How long are you giving yourself to get there? Once you
define these goals and time lines, write them down somewhere! Put
them somewhere that you are reminded of them each day. Make
sure your goals are reasonable, and attainable. It won’t do any
good to set goals that are unrealistic!
Next, we need to write down how exactly we plan to accomplish
our goals. For smoking, are you going cold turkey, using the patch,
or incrementally cutting down how many cigarettes you smoke a
day until you aren’t smoking at all? For losing weight, write down
your workout program, and schedule. Write down your diet goals
and track it religiously. Try to find someone who will join you in
your workouts and diet. Having someone to count on and someone
counting on you is a great support system for you in your efforts.
Last, tell as many people as you feel comfortable. Get people on
your side to support you, and hold you accountable to your goals
when you have moments of weakness! Believe in yourself! Have a
positive attitude about what you are trying to accomplish.
So how do accomplishing these goals help you be a safer
driver? Studies have shown that people who exercise and eat
right have sharper mental focus. Since a significant percentage
of accidents are caused due to inattention, improved focus will
obviously pay off while driving! Exercise will help improve handeye coordination, which is a big positive while driving! A healthy,
smoke-free body minimizes the risk of heart attack and other
medical issues that could be tragic anytime, not just behind the
wheel.
So there you have it. Successful accomplishment of some of
the most popular New Year’s resolutions will not only have you
slimmer, healthier, and happier, but can have an impact on your
ability to be a safer, courteous driver! Thanks for reading, buckle
up, and be safe!

Reports of crime in the neighborhood
can make one feel uneasy. The affected
community may work to rebuild
its sense of security by hiring more
police, improving street lighting, and
imposing strict curfews. In addition
to this, community efforts to reduce
poverty and provide better educational
opportunities for all community
members can help eliminate crimes of
desperation and strengthen the fiber of
the community.
To eliminate crime entirely, wouldn’t
we also need to address other issues
that cause criminal behavior? Wouldn’t
we need to address things such as
dishonesty, disrespect, greed, and hatred that seem to come from
within individuals? As Jesus pointed out, “Evil thoughts come out
of the heart” (Matthew 15:19 New International Reader’s Version).
To end criminal behavior, we need to reach the heart of people with
the healing touch of divine Love.
Jesus’ life, recorded in the Bible, shows us how to love as God
loves. This spiritual love changes people’s hearts. Knowing that
God is only good and is the true Father and Mother, the governing
Principle, of all humanity, Jesus looked beyond the erring human
personality to discern the pure and perfect spiritual identity of an
individual. Jesus loved – deeply appreciated and acknowledged –
this true identity. When he met Zacchaeus, a corrupt tax collector,
Jesus loved him as God had created him, looking beyond his corrupt
behavior to perceive reality – Zacchaeus’ honesty and uprightness
(see Luke 19:2-8). This perfect love reached the heart of Zacchaeus
and changed his behavior. He pledged to return the money he had
taken unlawfully, recompense for the wrong he had done, and
reestablish his life on an honest foundation.
Bible Says:

Michael Wilson
Michael Lee Wilson was
pronounced dead at 6:06 p.m. on
Jan. 9, 2014, by lethal injection,
for the murder of his co-worker,
Richard Yost.
Michael Lee Wilson and Richard
Kevin Yost were employees at the
local Quik Trip together. Wilson
planned to rob the store with Billy
Alverson, Darwin Brown and
Richard Harjo two weeks prior to
the murder. Shortly after Yost began
his shift on Feb. 25, 1995, Yost was
surrounded by Wilson, Alverson,
Brown and Harjo. Yost was dragged
to the back room where he was beaten to death by an aluminum
baseball bat. Following the beating, Wilson took money from the
store’s safe and cash registers while helping several customers
check out. All of these actions were seen by Quik Trip’s surveillance
tapes.
Shortly after Wilson’s arrest, Wilson’s mother called the police
and directed them to evidence of the robbery that was located at
her home. Police also found the safe and other materials from the
robbery at Alverson’s house.
Prior to this case, Wilson was an accessory to murder in 1995.
While Wilson was in custody, he committed assault and battery
upon another inmate and got into several fi ghts with inmates.
“Michael Lee Wilson was sentenced to death by a jury of his peers
for the heinous beating of Richard Yost, who was simply doing his
job,” Attorney General Scott Pruitt said. “My thoughts and prayers
are with Richard’s family and friends.”

Rock salt? Really?
A Clinton woman was arrested Jan. 28,
after she almost caused a collision with a
Clinton police officer.
According to the affidavit, the police officer was on patrol in the 1100 block of Gary
Boulevard when he saw a red car approach
the intersection of N. 11th Street and Gary
Boulevard.
The vehicle failed to come to a complete
stop at the stop sign and pulled out directly
in front of the officer. The officer had to slam
on his breaks to avoid a collision.
He did a u-turn to pull over the vehicle
and as he followed the vehicle, he observed the driver cross over the
solid yellow line multiple times.
He conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver,
24-year-old Brittany Ilene Wassana. Dispatch advised that Wassana’s driver’s license was suspended and expired.
The officer asked Wassana to step out of the vehicle. When she did,
the officer noticed that her eyes appeared to be heavy and droopy.
Wassana told the officer that she had been awake for days due to
stress.
The officer used a flashlight and saw that Wassana’s pupils were
constricted and nonreactive to light.
He placed her under arrest and transported her to jail.
During the booking process, Wassana fidgeted with her wallet and
attempted to empty the contents of her wallet into a bin. The officer
told her that the dispatched on duty would do that.
Wassana told the officer that there were some baggies of rock salt
in her wallet; the dispatcher handed the officer the wallet and he
found five small baggies full of a white crystal-like substance that
tested positive for meth.
Wassana is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of
drugs and driving with a suspended license. She was released on a
$12,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 7, 2014.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

Game over!
The game of drug trafficking was over for
a Stevensville, Md., couple after an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper found a dirty
little secret in their vehicle on Jan. 25.
According to the affidavit, the trooper
was sitting stationary on I-40 near the 38-
mile marker in Beckham County when he
saw a vehicle traveling east faster than the
posted speed limit of 70 mph.
The trooper conducted a traffic stop and
made contact with the driver, later identified as Thomas Josten Torgerson, 54, and
the passenger, later identified as Louanne
Fuller, 51.
The trooper asked Torgerson to step out
of the vehicle and asked him if he had a
driver’s license. Torgerson told him that he
did not have his license with him, but he
did have an ID.
Torgerson began digging through his
wallet and the trooper noticed that his
hands were shaky and he appeared to be
very nervous. The trooper asked Torgerson
to have a seat in the patrol car.
Torgerson rarely made eye contact when
he spoke to the trooper, he kept moving around in his seat and his
travel plans kept changing.
The trooper spoke to the passenger, who also appeared to be very
nervous. She kept moving around a lot and wouldn’t make eye contact with the trooper. She told the trooper different stories about
her relationship with Torgerson and their travel plans than Torgerson had told him.
The trooper ran a background check on the suspects and found
they both had criminal histories, with Torgerson’s being extensive.
The trooper asked Torgerson if he could search the vehicle and
Torgerson said, “No, I’d rather get on my way if you don’t mind.”
The trooper requested a K9 officer to come to the scene. The K9
alerted and the trooper told the suspects that he was going to search
their car. Togerson was heard saying, “Well, game over.”
Game over was right. Police found a suitcase full of digital scales
and marijuana, a large bag of meth, smoking pipes, small baggies of
meth and other items of paraphernalia.
Both are being charged with aggravated trafficking in illegal
drugs, unlawful possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Torgerson is being held on a $501,000 bond. Fuller is being held
on a $500,000 bond. They are both scheduled to appear in court
on March 13, 2014.

Not freezing in the cooler
Robert Vick, a 42-year-old inmate who escaped from Blackburn
Correctional Complex in Lexington, turned himself back in less
than 48 hours later when he decided jail was better than freezing
to death.
According to police, Vick escaped from a minimum security
facility in Lexington Sunday, however, the plan quickly backfired
when he encountered an unexpected dose of cold weather.
Local wind chill temperatures were 20 degrees below zero
Monday in Lexington, according to weather reports. Vick would
have been dressed in prison issued khaki pants, a shirt and a
jacket, according to Department of Correction spokesperson, Lisa
Lamb.
As temperatures dropped between Sunday and Tuesday
morning, Vick reportedly walked into a motel and asked the clerk to call police. He
reportedly told the clerk that he wanted to turn himself in because it was too cold outside.
Arriving officers called in paramedics to check Vick out before he was returned to
Blackburn, said Lexington police spokesperson Sherelle Roberts
“This was definitely of his own volition,” said Roberts. “It’s cold out there, too cold to run
around. I can understand why the suspect would turn himself in.
Vick was serving a six-year sentence for burglary and criminal possession of a forged
instrument when he escaped.

February Is Teen Dating Violence
Awareness and Prevention Month
During this month, and at all times, parents need to be aware of
the issue of teen dating violence. For as much as domestic violence
among adults is an issue that is too often not discussed -- and too often kept a secret by the victim -- teen dating violence is even less discussed, and even less reported by victims. Nevertheless, in a recent
survey of over 4,000 9th through 12th graders, one in five reported
being physically and/or sexually abused by a dating partner.
The sad fact is that two out of three teens in an abusive relationship
don’t ever tell anyone about the abuse. For girls, when they experience serious sexual abuse they only report it to an authority figure six
percent of the time. This makes it very difficult to know when your
teen has become a victim of dating violence.
Still, there are warning signs that every parent and teacher can and
should look for. Because teenage years are difficult (and secretive)
enough as it is, it’s important to be aware of these warning signs, and
to approach your teen in a way that will make them feel comfortable
talking with you.
For more information, contact your local DHS.

By Lori Fullbright,
News On 6
A former Rogers County Commissioner who spent time in prison is in trouble
with the law again.
Deputies arrested Randy Baldridge on
Jan. 7.
Tulsa police say a witness has accused
Baldridge of picking up runaway boys
and giving them drugs, sometimes in exchange for sexual favors.
Someone else told police that Baldridge
had given him methamphetamine and he
later woke up naked in a field.
TPD turned over the investigation to
Rogers County since the allegations were
centered there.
The Rogers County THUG task force
took him into custody. They say he had a
16-year-old runaway from Tulsa with him
at the time.
The two were at a Rogers County home
where deputies say they found syringes in
the boy’s backpack that tested positive for
containing methamphetamine.
Deputies say they got permission to
search Baldridge’s vehicle and found a
glass smoking device, several syringes
and a silver spoon, all with a white, powdery substance on them that also tested
positive for meth.
They say all this was found less than
200 feet from the
Tiawah Elementary
School.
An affidavit says
Baldridge admitted
supplying teenage
boys with meth, but
he first claimed he
bought it as a way to
keep the boys from going into those kinds
of places.
It says he originally denied using meth
himself, but later admitted, with tears in
his eyes, that he did use it.
This appears to be a long downward
spiral from where Baldridge was when
voters elected him to be a Rogers County
commissioner.
However, in 2007, a federal jury found
him guilty of money laundering, mail
fraud, obtaining money by fraud and
other counts and a judge sentenced Baldridge to 37 months in federal prison.
The sheriff says when Baldridge was
released from prison, he came back to
Rogers County, got a job and things were
quiet until his office received these recent
complaints.
The affidavit says a second teenage runaway boy has been at Baldridge’s home
many times, for long periods of time, but
he was dropped off at a Tulsa house and
deputies are still searching for him.

Talking smack gets
teen smacked
A Watonga man was taken to
jail after he punched a teen in
the face because he was supposedly talking badly about his son.
According to the affidavit,
a Watonga police officer was
dispatched to the 800 block of
North Weigle for an assault and
battery report on Jan. 25. When
he arrived, he spoke to a woman
who told him Michael James
Christian, 20, had punched one
of her sons in the face. She aded
they went to Christian’s residence to pick up clothes that
belonged to her other son. Christian came outside and attempted to get the victim to fight him.
He then allegedly opened to passenger door and punched
the victim in the face.
The officer noticed the victim’s eye was swollen and the
left side of his face was red. The victim told the officer that
Christian had been trying to fight him after a disagreement
a week ago. He admitted that he had texted an inappropriate comment to Christian prior to picking up the clothes.
On the way to Christian’s residence, the officer saw
Christian walking down the road.
He made contact with Christian and asked him if he had
assaulted the victim.
Christian said, “Yes, I hit him in the head because he was
talking about my kid.”
The officer noticed that the subject had red glassy eyes
and smelled like marijuana.
He asked Christian if he had been smoking marijuana
and the man replied, “Yes, earlier.”
The officer conducted a search of Christian and found a
folded up cigarette box that contained Percocet pills. The
officer asked where Christian had obtained the pills, and
Christian admitted to stealing them from his grandmother.
Christian is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and assault and battery. His
bond was set at $4,000, and he is scheduled to appear in
court on Feb. 11, 2014.

You can run, but

A Burns Flat man was taken to
jail Jan. 18, even though he tried his
hardest to get away from the arresting officer.
On that day, a Washita County deputy was on patrol when he saw a red
car driving southbound on CR 2080
near Canute, the affidavit states.
He recognized the vehicle as being
driven by Shane Michael Beaver Klemm, 23; he knew that Klemm had
multiple outstanding warrants.
After checking the tag and confirming that the vehicle was the one
known to be driven by Klemm, the
deputy turned on his lights in an attempt to conduct an investigative stop. The driver of the suspect car didn’t pull over and
maintained a speed of about 50 mph for a short while.
The deputy pulled alongside the suspect vehicle in an attempt
to make himself more visible to the driver, but the car accelerated and reached speeds of about 95 mph.
The vehicle continued to drive at extremely high rates of
speed.
Another deputy joined the pursuit and the suspect vehicle
made a southbound turn onto Highway 44 toward Burns Flat.
The suspect car finally came to an abrupt stop in the 400 block
of Frontier in Burns Flat, and the driver, identified as Klemm,
exited the vehicle and took off running.
He was eventually apprehended and taken to jail.
Klemm is being charged with endangering others while eluding/ attempting to elude police officer and reckless driving. He
is being held on a $40,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in
court on March 25, 2014.

James E. Finch, Special Agent in Charge of the Oklahoma City Field Office, Federal Bureau of Investigation
(FBI), is providing the following public service announcement:
The public is advised there is currently a fraudulent
phone and e-mail scam targeting Oklahoma utility customers. Customers have received phone calls from individuals claiming to be with the utility company’s billing
department. The caller advises the customers they have a
past-due balance, and if they do not provide credit card or
bank account information, their service will be remotely
terminated.
Customers have also received e-mails stating their bill is
now available and that the amount owed is past due. The
e-mail instructs customers to click on an embedded link to pay the past-due bill. The public
is advised this is a fraudulent phone and e-mail phishing scam.
This type of fraudulent solicitation is not unique to utility companies, and similar scams
have been attempted using banks, government agencies, and numerous other legitimate
businesses. Individuals should not provide any information or click on the embedded links.
Individuals who receive suspicious or unsolicited phone calls or e-mails should contact their
service provider or the involved business directly to verify the validity of the request.
