INFLUENCER
A Yukon man who was in a viral video claiming he was wrongfully arrested has been formally charged for obstruction related to the September incident.
According to reports, deputies arrested
48-year-old Charles Edward Bishop III in the
sheriff’s office lobby on September 15, 2023.
Bishop said he was at the location to make an
open records request.
While there, Bishop saw deputies arrest a
woman on an outstanding felony warrant and didn’t agree with how they
were treating her. He told a deputy to be nice.
The sheriff asked the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to assist with
the investigation as an unbiased party. After reviewing everything and speaking to witnesses, OSBI apparently found no wrongdoing.
The obstruction charge happened, however, because Bishop refused to
leave.
An affidavit filed in the man’s arrest alleged that the man was “verbally
confrontational” and used profanity. He also tried to break away from the
arresting deputies.
Bishop is being charged with obstructing an officer. His bond was set at
$1,000.

OSBI ARRESTS MAN FOR SENDING IMAGES TO MINOR
On October 18, 2023, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office in the State of Washington requested
the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to investigate inappropriate images and messages sent to a minor.
OSBI special agents quickly identified the suspect as 23-year-old Ruben
Arthuro Reyes, who lived in Beaver, Oklahoma. On November 30, a search
warrant was obtained and executed at Reyes’ residence. Evidence was gathered from the home and Reyes was interviewed by OSBI agents.
Reyes admitted to sending the images and was arrested and booked into
the Beaver County Jail on charges of Indecent Exposure-Soliciting of Minors
and Soliciting Sexual Conduct or Communication with a Minor by use of
Technology.

Trailer got trashed
Video of a wild police car chase in Missouri involving a driver towing a house has gone viral.
The Excelsior Springs Police Department released the footage in November of Sgt. Kyle Craven in pursuit of an unknown
male motorist driving erratically on Thanksgiving night.
The motorist went 30 mph with the 70-foot long mobile home attached to his
truck that Craven said looked like ‘he was gonna live in it.’ Officers attempted to
deflate his tires by laying stop sticks on the road, but they were not fast enough,
and the driver kept on cruising down US Route 69.
The 35-mile car chase ended after the driver with his mobile home crashed
while attempting to make a sharp left turn at Cameron Road in Mosby. Craven
said he thought the driver was drunk since his driving was so erratic, with his
vehicle veering into the middle of the lanes.
When the driver attempted the left turn he hit a stop sign, giving police the
chance to apprehend him.
Multiple police officers arrested him right in front of the mobile home, and
seemingly had fun doing it - especially the officers who shared high fives after he
was taken away by other cops.
The driver now now faces multiple traffic violation charges, but officers have
not clarified what those charges are.
If he was driving intoxicated, as Craven and other police officers thought, he
could possibly face a DWI (driving while intoxicated) charge, which is a Class B
misdemeanor in Missouri.
However, it can also lead to a maximum of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

A DAY OF LIVING
DANGEROUSLY
A 25-year-old Cordell man was put behind
bars after he allegedly led an officer in a pursuit
on December 16 that endangered pedestrians
and other motorists.
According to court records, a Cordell officer
attempted to stop a motorcycle being driven by Dalton River Gray at 14th
Street and Cook Street. However, Gray didn’t stop. Instead, he led the officer
on a pursuit that put others in danger.
Gray ran a stop sign and drove 70 mph in a 25 mph zone while there was a
pedestrian in the roadway. He also put other motorists in danger as he drove
recklessly through Cordell.
When the pursuit eventually came to an end, the officer found a loaded
Smith & Wesson M&P 9 mm in Gray’s front right pocket.
Gray is being charged with endangering others while eluding/attempting
to elude police and improper transportation of firearms. His bond was set at
$50,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on February 27, 2024.

ASLEEP AT THE
WHEEL
A 33-year-old man from Albuquerque, New
Mexico, was arrested in Weatherford on December 23 after he was suspected of using
fentanyl while transporting two minors.
According to reports, Weatherford police
officers were dispatched to a convenience store after someone at the
store called 911. The caller said that a child was trying to get away from
the suspect, later identified as Andrew Michael Robles.
When officers arrived at the scene, they made contact with the child, a
10-year-old girl. She told them that she was on a road trip with her friend,
a 12-year-old girl, and her father, identified as Robles.
The 10-year-old said she thought the man was using narcotics while on
the trip, and she was scared. She said that the man would also sometimes fall asleep while driving.
Officers found Roble in his truck with his 12-year-old daughter. When
they tried to speak with him, Robles fled the scene.
Officers caught up to the man after a brief pursuit and placed him under arrest.
While searching the man’s vehicle, officers found drug paraphernalia
that led them to believe he had been smoking fentanyl in the vehicle.
Robles is being charged with child endangerment by driving under the
influence, obstructing an officer, and eluding/attempting to elude a police
officer. His bond was set at $25,000, and he is scheduled to appear in
court on January 26, 2024.

How the Grinch stole Christmas
A Clay County, Fla., man is facing charges after
deputies say he fired a gun six times near the Middleburg Christmas Parade.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 4100
block of County Road 218, which is located along the parade route, after hearing several gunshots fired from the area.
When deputies arrived, they found several people yelling at the suspect, identified as Douglas Moore, 43, who was standing at the property line. The people
were demanding to know why Moore shot at them, an arrest report states.
No injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire, according to deputies.
Moore was told to get on the ground but refused, the report states. Moore was
then taken down by deputies after refusing to comply.
Deputies detained four individuals involved. Moore was ultimately placed under arrest following witness interviews and a review of the evidence.
The investigation revealed that Moore, a resident of a nearby property near
the incident location, became agitated by the activities stemming from parade
attendees and discharged a pistol multiple times while entering the property
where the victims were located.
While he was being read his Miranda Rights, deputies observed Moore speaking with slurred speech and had bloodshot and watery eyes, according to the
report.
As a result of the investigation, Moore was charged with six counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm, and using a firearm
while under the influence of alcohol.
“I am thankful for the quick response by the deputies who ran towards the
sound of gunfire to keep our community safe,” Sheriff Michelle Cook said in the
post.

GOODBYE TO YOU
An Okeene man has been sentenced to serve more
than six years in federal prison for possession of child
pornography.
On December 21, Randal Wade Laubach, 55, of
Okeene, was sentenced to serve 78 months in federal prison for possession of child pornography, announced U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.
On April 18, 2023, a federal grand jury returned a
two-count Indictment against Laubach. Count one charged him with transportation
of child pornography, and Count 2 charged him with possession of prepubescent
child pornography.
The Indictment alleges that on June 9, 2022, Laubach knowingly possessed child
pornography. Public record reflects that Laubach possessed more than 50 terabytes
of child pornography, stored using various digital mediums including his cell phone.
On July 26, 2023, Laubach pleaded guilty to Count 2 of the Indictment. As part of
his plea, Laubach admitted he had possessed child pornography for the last 20 years.
At the sentencing hearing, U.S. District Court Judge Timothy D. DeGiusti sentenced
Laubach to serve 78 months in federal prison, followed by eight years of supervised
release. He has been in federal custody since July 26, 2023.
This case is the result of an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations, the
Blaine County Sheriff’s Office, and the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office.
