Public intox
An Oklahoma City man was taken
into custody for trying to meet up with
a fictitious 14-year-old girl during his
lunch break.
Korbin Kenmore, 24, was arrested
June 5 on complaints of soliciting sex
with a minor by use of technology. He
was released on bail the next day.
According to reports, an undercover
Canadian County deputy posed as the
fictitious girl and Kenmore initiated
a sexually graphic conversation with
“her.” He aggressively pursued her and
wanted to meet for sex.
Kenmore allegedly setup a time and place to meet the girl and left
work for an early lunch on June 5, but the only person waiting for
him were deputies.
After a short struggle, deputies placed Kenmore into custody. He
later allegedly confessed to knowingly soliciting sex from an underage girl.

A Weatherford man was taken to
jail June 2 because he allegedly shot
a juvenile male on accident. He told
police he was just trying to play a joke,
but his finger slipped and the gun
fired.
According to the police report, a
Weatherford officer was dispatched to
the hospital to speak to a gunshot victim shortly after 10 p.m. The juvenile
victim told the officer he had been at a
pool party with some friends, and they
decided to go to another residence to
pick up a friend. He said he called
first. The man on the phone told him
to just come in.
When the boy walked up to the door, he said he was immediately
shot in the shoulder. He wasn’t sure who shot him.
After speaking to some people at the residence, the officer determined 18-year-old Isaiah Tivon Rasheed was the shooter.
The next day, the officer returned to the residence in the 500 block
of N. Eighth Street with a search warrant. Rasheed first told the officer
he shot the victim in self-defense, but then he quickly said it was actually an accident. He said he was going to play a joke on another man.
He thought that man was actually the person who walked through the
door. He said he pulled the hammer back in the ready to fire position
and told the victim, “Got Cha.” When he realized the victim wasn’t
who he thought he was, the hammer slipped from his thumb and the
gun fired.
Rasheed admitted to smoking marijuana in his house when the incident occurred.
Other people who were in the house at the time told the officer they
heard the gun fire and a male scream. One witness said he saw Rasheed walk toward the door with a gun after telling him, “Watch this.”
Another told the officer he and Rasheed took a box containing the
gun and some marijuana out to a field and hid it in some tall grass.
Rasheed is being charged with assault and battery. His bond was set
at $100,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on July 31, 2015.

Sayre man Robert “Arnold” Salas, 42, didn’t take too kindly
to a woman who tried to tell him he needed to drive on one side
of the road. He was arrested after he threatened the woman with
his .45.
On May 28 at approximately 6:32 p.m., a Beckham County
deputy was dispatched to Benton Road due to a reckless driver.
He located the suspect vehicle on Cedar and Sixth Street in Sayre.
The deputy tried to stop the vehicle; Salas stopped, but then
headed north. He eventually came to a complete stop at Sixth and
Pine.
The deputy ordered the man to get out of his vehicle; Salas refused to follow commands. More officers arrived the assist and
the man was removed from his vehicle and placed in handcuffs.
He was then transported to jail.
The victim told the officer that Salas was driving in between her vehicle and her daughter’s
vehicle. She described his driving as “reckless.”
The woman confronted the man about how he was driving. He told her he paid his taxes,
and he could drive on both sides of the roadway. He then did “figure 8’s” in between the vehicles -- the woman said she was scared he was going to hit them.
When she told Salas she was going to call the police, he allegedly told her that he had a .45
for both her and the cops.
Salas is being charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, threaten to perform act of
violence and eluding/attempting to elude police officer. He is scheduled to appear in court on
July 30, 2015.

Chances are, while you are
reading this, it may be raining,
has been raining, or is about to
rain somewhere in Oklahoma! We are finally getting those much
needed showers to fill up ponds and lakes. Unfortunately, we
are getting most of it all at once, and we are having some major
flooding! I’m going to talk a little about the dangers that roadway
flooding can present, and some tips for avoiding them.
Every year that we have flooding, we get stories about motorists
who are stranded in water that has risen up over the roadway. The
news has the usual shot of one vehicle with its hazard lights on not
moving, followed by video of other vehicles still driving through
these flooded roads. The solution is very simple, if you don’t want
to be that vehicle that is stranded, don’t drive through standing
water! Most of the locations that typically flood over in heavy rains
are traditional places where this happens year after year. The
problem with this is that usually, the locals think since they’ve been
able to drive through it before, it shouldn’t be any problem now.
A lot of things can happen under water that we can’t see
though. Parts of the roadway could wash out, debris could be
covered up that can’t be seen, and other unseen hazards could
be present. All of these things can spell disaster for the person
who assumes it will be OK to drive through standing water on the
roadway.
Next, don’t drive around “Road Closed” signs. Every year in
these traditional flood areas, the public safety officials close the
roads for safety, and every year people drive around those signs
and end up needing rescued. Not only are those signs put up for
your safety, it is illegal to drive around them. They are Official
Traffic Control Devices, and as Oklahoma State Statute 47:11-201A
states: The driver of any vehicle shall obey the instructions of any
official traffic-control device...unless otherwise directed by a traffic
or police officer.
Last, be aware of your surroundings, so that you can find an
alternate route if needed. In today’s technology driven world, this
is easier than ever to do. Use that smart phone, tablet, or GPS
device to find a way around flooded areas. Also, when the potential
for floods can cause roads to be closed, give yourself extra time to
reach your destination, in case an alternate route is needed.
This spring has been a bounty of rain that Oklahoma has needed
for a few years, but with the good comes some potential bad in the
form of flooding. Now you’ll have some tips for avoiding any of
the pitfalls that inherently come with them! Don’t be that vehicle
they show on the news every year, flooded or swept away. Please

A Watonga man did his best to hide
from police after his wife told officers he
fled the scene of a traffic stop to avoid going to jail.
Unfortunately for 31-year-old Robert
Lee Richardson Jr., you can run, but you
can’t hide.
On May 20, a state trooper was patrolling State Highway 33 shortly after noon
when he saw a red truck that appeared to
be going faster than the posted limit of 65
mph, according to the affidavit.
When the trooper activated his radar,
his suspicions were confirmed -- the
truck was flying down the highway at a speed of 76 mph.
The trooper turned on his lights in an attempt to stop the truck.
The truck turned south on County Road 2680, and the driver
jumped out of the truck and took off running.
The passenger also exited the truck; she told the trooper the driver
was her husband, Richardson. When the trooper asked her why he
took off running, she told him he didn’t want to go to jail, because he
was driving without a license.
The trooper was unable to immediately locate the man. Blaine
County deputies joined the search.
During the search, the trooper was advised Richardson wasn’t only
driving without a license -- he also had a felony warrant out of Blaine
County.
After an extensive search, police eventually located Richardson
shortly after 2 p.m and placed him under arrest.
Richardson is being charged with attempt to escape from arrest
or detention, driving with license canceled/suspended/revoked, failure to carry insurance/security verification form and speeding in excess of lawful maximum limit. His bond was set at $3,000, and he is
scheduled to appear in court on June 10, 2015.

Cordell couple Braydon Alan Steele, 30, and 22-year-old Tanika Nicole Forrest Maggard scared some kids when they started fighting on their property.
On May 27, a Washita County deputy was dispatched to 14th and Cook Street
in Cordell. When the officer arrived, he saw Maggard sitting on the back porch.
She appeared to be under the influence of something.
A juvenile girl said she and her brother were in the backyard when they
heard a woman scream. They looked across the pond and saw a man and a
truck on their property. They ran into the house and locked the doors. The
truck, driven by Steele, then left.
According to the police report, Maggard told the deputy she and her boyfriend started arguing, and he drove off and left her alone. Maggard was fidgety and admitted to using meth.
The deputy notified her probation officer, who requested Maggard take a
urinalysis test once she was booked into jail -- she tested positive for methamphetamine and THC.
At 5:41 p.m., the deputy was advised that Steele was back on the property.
When the officer arrived, he saw the property owner talking to Steele. He asked the man what he
was doing. Steele said he was looking for his girlfriend, because he had left her out there earlier.
The deputy placed him under arrest. Steele tested positive for methamphetamine.
Maggard is being charged with disturbing the peace. Her bond was set at $15,000.
Steele is being charged with trespassing after being forbidden. His bond was set at $45,000.
They are both scheduled to appear in court on August 11, 2015.
