Charges filed against Nurse who Traded Xanax
Prescription for Meth to Undercover Officer
Attorney General Mike Hunter has charged
a nurse practitioner and a member of her office staff for allegedly trading prescriptions for
methamphetamine.
During an undercover investigation, nurse
practitioner and owner of Advanced Health
and Wellness, Patsy Wiseman, 47, prescribed
Xanax to the undercover officer, who disclosed
they had no medical need for the drug. The officer also told Wiseman they planned to sell the
prescription medication.
After Wiseman electronically sent the prescription to the pharmacy, she directed the officer to coordinate with her receptionist, Amanda Emhoolah, 41, who would receive the meth.
The investigation revealed this practice was
common for Wiseman and Emhoolah.
Attorney General Hunter said for a drug dealer to hold herself out as a health care provider
is a disgrace to the medical community.
“The vast majority of nurses, doctors and
others in the health care community are doing
exactly what they need in order to take care of
their patients,” Attorney General Hunter said.
“Unfortunately, there are some who turn to
criminal transactions that pose a real threat to
society. It is our job as law enforcement officials
to hold the outliers accountable for these actions to ensure the safety and
security of Oklahomans. I appreciate the Tulsa Police Department and the
Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics for their work on this case and bringing it
to the attention of my office.”
According to court documents, a search warrant was issued for the office location where authorities found various drug paraphernalia, including
needles containing meth. A subsequent search of Wiseman’s home found
more paraphernalia, including meth and medication prescribed by Wiseman to alleged patients.
The duo have been charged with eight counts of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance not in course of legitimate business, conspiracy and failure to guard against diversion, and other crimes for their
alleged illicit dealings.
If convicted, both defendants face prison time, fines and fees.

March is National Youth Violence
Prevention Month
The National Association of Students
Against Violence Everywhere is a nonprofit
aiming to provide safer environments for
our youth. Its mission is to decrease the
potential for violence in our schools and
communities by promoting meaningful student involvement, education and service
opportunities.
SAVE’s Vision: Schools and communities will be safer and more secure, free of
fear and conducive to learning as a result of
students being actively involved in meaningful violence prevention efforts.
How It Got Started: SAVE was started by students in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1989 after the tragic death of a classmate who was trying to break up a
fight at an off-campus party. A group of students who did not want this death
to be “just another statistic” took action and created a violence prevention
program.
Chapters: SAVE has evolved into a national association with chapters in
elementary, middle and high schools as well as at colleges and community organizations across the country. Today, there are more than 200,000 students
involved nationwide.
Activities: Student members take the lead in planning chapter activities by
using the three SAVE Essential Elements: conducting crime prevention activities, conducting conflict management activities and providing meaningful service through projects in schools and communities. SAVE chapters also plan
safety rallies and safety awareness campaigns, engage in peer mentoring to
younger students, and conduct fun and educational meetings.

SHERIFF WARNS OF NEW FARM SCAM
Criminals Using Hay Purchase To Attempt Fraud on Farmers
Sheriff Derek Manning said last month that a new scam has been reported in Beckham County. Criminals are now posing as hay buyers in order to
get local farmers to unknowingly deposit fraudulent checks.
“This works almost exactly like the sweepstakes scam, which we also
saw a case of this week,” Manning said. “This particular scammer offered
to buy hay from one of our local farmers who had posted his hay for sale
on FaceBook. The scammer then sent a check for several hundred dollars
more than the agreed upon amount. The scammer told the farmer he had
mistakenly included a hauling fee, and asked the farmer to go ahead and
deposit the check and just send him back a check for the overpayment.”
Manning said the next thing that happens, if the victim follows through, is
that they eventually find out the check they deposited from the hay buyer
is bogus, but the check they sent back for the supposed overpayment is
already cashed by the scammer. “They’ve got your money and you’re left
holding a worthless check,” he said.
In this case, the farmer became suspicious because his bank told him
the check was no good. He then contacted the buyer back.
The farmer became more suspicious when the guy then tried to get him
to deposit the check through a retail checking service. He then called the
Sheriff’s Office, and a deputy contacted him. “Our deputy told the farmer
he was right to be suspicious, and suggested the farmer contact the supposed hay buyer and ask him to send some verification of his ID,” Manning
said. “Obviously, that stopped the scammer, because he probably wasn’t
who he said he was or where he said he was. He never intended to buy
hay, he just wanted to scam an honest person out of the several hundred
dollars he had ‘overpaid.’ Good instincts from the farmer, watchfulness
from the bank and good advice from my deputy kept this scammer from
getting away with a large amount of money.”
Manning stressed that whether it’s someone offering to buy hay or cattle, or someone promising prize money or a free car, it’s always smart to be
suspicious when they ask you to send money or give personal information.
“Legitimate businesses don’t operate like that,” he said. “Usually these
folks are operating from out of state or from another country. And they’re
really smart about making it seem like they’re from a legitimate company
or local business.”
Manning said his best advice is trust your gut. “Be cautious, don’t give
out information, and call us if you’re the least bit suspicious. We’re always
happy to take the call and try to help. We may not always be able to take
enforcement action on someone or even know for sure where they’re operating from. But we might be able to help you protect your bank account
and warn others in the process.”

One of three people arrested for allegedly selling PCP at an apartment complex in
Oklahoma City was posing as a police officer at the time of her arrest.
According to KFOR-TV, when officers with the Oklahoma City police department
arrived at the scene, the woman—identified as Shirlene Nelson—told them she was a
police officer.
She was reportedly wearing a pink duty belt with pepper spray, two knives, handcuffs, brass knuckles and a “special police brass badge.”
Nelson was arrested for impersonating an officer and for drug possession.
The other two suspects—identified as Edward LittleJohn and Bobby Hooks—were
also arrested.
A game warden in Texas stopped a pair of men fishing without valid fishing licenses.
One of the men didn’t have proper identification.
According to the Houston Chronicle, the man without the ID knew he had active
warrants for his arrest and in an effort to deceive the law enforcement officer gave the
warden the name of a friend. As it happens, the man whose name was given to the
warden also had warrants for his arrest, so despite his attempt to dupe the warden, the
man was taken into custody anyway.
While he was being booked into jail under the false name, the man admitted to his lie
and booked under his real name with the additional charge of lying to a police officer.
A 20-year-old college student booked into a Washington Sate jail for underage drinking was seen on surveillance video attempting to steal packages from beneath the
Christmas tree at the Pullman (WA) Police Department as he left the building.
According to Fox News, he soon discovered that one box was empty, one was a
tissue box, and the third contained women’s hygiene products. He quickly discarded
the absconded presents and made his presence scarce.
The Kitty Hawk (NC) Police Department posted an image of the front pocket of a
pair of denim jeans on its Facebook page accompanied by some “advice” for citizens
about their pants.
The post read, “We at the Kitty Hawk Police Department understand that some of
North Carolina’s laws may be confusing. We also understand that educating you about
the laws when you are being placed into handcuffs may be a little untimely. We thought
if we could avoid more paperwork, and you could avoid going to jail, we both win. So,
we have decided to post periodic educational messages on how to avoid going to jail.
Here is the first of many to come.”
The post continued, “Prior to wearing someone else’s pants, please remove all
drugs, drug paraphernalia, stolen goods or any other illegal items the ‘owner’ of the
pants may have left behind. ‘These are not my pants’ is not an affirmative defense. Glad
we could help.”
The post concluded, “Disclaimer: We are not attorneys nor non-attorney spokespersons and this message is not intended as legal advice. Please speak to an actual
attorney prior to wearing someone else’s pants with drug filled pockets.”
A Florida couple arrested for DUI reportedly attempted to have sexual intercourse in
the back of the patrol vehicle about to transport them to jail.
According to PEOPLE Magazine, officials said the couple—identified as 35-year-old
Megan Lynn Mondanaro and 31-year-old Seth Aaron Thomas—were seen attempting
to disrobe in the back of the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office squad car. They had been
riding bicycles at night without running lights and reportedly came in close contact with
a motorist when a deputy spotted and stopped them.
Mondanaro was charged with DUI, exposing sex organs, unnatural and lascivious
act and resisting without violence.
Thomas was charged with threat against a public official, unnatural and lascivious
act, exposing sex organs and DUI.
Both Thomas and Mondanaro reportedly have lengthy criminal records.

An 18-year-old Dill City man was locked up on February 8 after he allegedly threatened to kill his father
because he wanted his Playstation back after losing it
due to failing grades.
According to the police report, a Washita County
deputy was dispatched to a residence on N 2110 Road
at approximately 2:18 p.m. to investigate a family dispute. When he arrived, a man told him that his son,
Ricky Darrel Jackson, Jr., had threatened him with a
meat cleaver. Jackson was apparently upset because
his dad took away his Playstation because he had
some bad grades.
Jackson’s brother defended their father and took
away the meat cleaver. The father was then able to escape to a bedroom.
Jackson then pulled out a pocketknife and tried to stab his brother in the stomach. The dad then ran back out with a shotgun, and Jackson ran out of the house.
A short while later, the deputy was advised that the suspect had returned to the
house. A white car was in the driveway that wasn’t there before – Jackson said he
took it from a neighbor. He said he had given the pocketknife to his grandmother.
Jackson told police that he was prepared to get his Playstation back by any
means necessary, even if that meant killing his father other family members. He
said he would kill three family members so he could play his Playstation for a
couple of days, rather than just a couple of hours.
Jackson added that he would then take all the pills in the house to see what
would happen.
Deputies retrieved the pocketknife from Jackson’s grandmother. The man’s
brother positively identified it as a weapon Jackson tried to stab him with.
Those involved in the ordeal told police Jackson made statements such as,
“I’m prepared for blood,” and “I’m ready to clean blood and hide all the bodies.”
The owner of the vehicle Jackson said he had stolen said that he didn’t know
his vehicle was missing, but he hadn’t given anyone permission to take it.
Jackson is being charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and unauthorized use of a vehicle. His bond was set at $50,000, and
he is scheduled to appear in court on April 7, 2020.
