Urine trouble!
Investigators with the Canadian County Sheriff’s
Office arrested Paul J. Compton, 56, of Yukon on
April 18 on five counts of Sexual Battery by a Public
Employee or Contractor.
The investigation into Compton began in September 2017 after the Sheriff’s Office received information of complaints from drug court clients, claiming
inappropriate behavior by Compton; a urinalysis
specimen collector contracted by Innovative Court
Solutions (ICS); an El Reno based business..
Working for Innovative Court Solutions, Compton
collects urine specimens for drug & alcohol testing
under a Memorandum of Understanding with the
Canadian County Adult Drug Court. Clients in the
drug court program are required to submit to weekly
urinalysis testing as part of their agreement with the
Drug Court.
The investigation into the allegations revealed that while performing specimen
collections, Compton engaged female clients in sexually explicit conversations,
which over time led to unlawful touching of private body parts. One of the victims told investigations that during a scheduled urinalysis, Compton entered the
women’s testing room and said “Can I touch you” and “Gawd you turn me on.”
The investigation into Compton resulted in victims alleging he unlawfully groped
their female body parts, and engaged in sexually explicit conversations. The investigation into Compton’s actions also resulted in the seizure of Compton’s cell
phone and laptop through execution of a search warrant signed by a Canadian
County Judge.
A forensic examination of Compton’s electronic devices was conducted by the
Canadian County Sheriff’s Computer Crimes Unit, and retrieved multiple sexually
graphic texts and photographs Compton had sent the victims, including one in
which he talked about how he wanted to have sex with her in his office on Mustang
Road, and sent her a photograph of the office.
“By dumping Compton’s phone and computer we were able to substantiate
several of the allegations made by the drug court clients, said Chris West, Canadian County Sheriff.
The investigation also found that Compton had physically pulled a victim’s
blouse up and kissed her breast, and on another occasion had groped a victim’s
vagina and groin area through her clothing. On another incident, a victim stated
that Compton grabbed her hand, and moved it to his crotch forcing her to feel him
through his clothing.
Investigators made requests to meet with Compton during the investigation to
discuss the allegations, but at the advice of his attorney Compton declined to
meet. Although Compton never met with investigators, the case was completed
and turned over the District Attorney’s Office for review.
Sheriff’s Investigators were contacted by the Canadian County District Attorney’s
Office on April 18th and informed that an arrest warrant for Compton had been issued. Investigators located Compton at his Yukon residence before noon that day,
and took him into custody on five counts of Sexual Battery by a Public Employee
or Contractor.
“This is a classic case of someone exploiting their authority over another person
for sexual purposes, and a perfect example of why this law exists,” West said.
Compton was transported the Canadian County Jail and booked in, and his
bond established at $100,000. Compton was able to post bond that evening.

national police week
Sunday, May 13 -
Saturday, May 19, 2018
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which
designated May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in
which that date falls as Police Week.
Currently, tens of thousands of law
enforcement officers from around the
world converge on Washington, DC
to participate in a number of planned
events which honor those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
The Memorial Service began in 1982 as a gathering in Senate Park of approximately 120 survivors and supporters of law enforcement. Decades later,
the event, more commonly known as National Police Week, has grown to a
series of events which attracts thousands of survivors and law enforcement
officers to our Nation’s Capital each year.
The National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service, which is sponsored by the
Grand Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police, is one in a series of events
which includes the Candlelight Vigil, which is sponsored by the National Law
Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) and seminars sponsored by
Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.)
National Police Week draws in between 25,000 to 40,000 attendees. The
attendees come from departments throughout the United States as well as
from agencies throughout the world. This provides a unique opportunity to
meet others that share a common brotherhood. In that spirit, the Fraternal Order of Police DC Lodge #1 sponsors receptions each afternoon and evening
during Police Week. These events are open to all law enforcement personnel
and are an experience unlike any other.

Teacher arrested for sexual
relationship with student
On Saturday, April 7th, 2018, a Clinton
Public Schools teacher and her husband
drove to the Clinton Police Department where
she confessed to having a sexual relationship
with one of her 15-year-old students.
The Clinton Police Department requested
OSBI special agents assist with the investigation.
OSBI agents interviewed Keri Hoffman,
36, and collected the information about the
crimes. Hoffman used Facebook messenger
to communicate with the teenage boy and to
set up locations for sexual contact. She admitted to having sex with the boy numerous
times since March 30, 2018, inside her car in
Washita County and inside her father’s detached garage in Custer County.
Hoffman went on to say that last week she took a group of students to the
Capitol to participate in the teacher walkout. The victim was part of that group.
Hoffman picked him up first and dropped him off last, having sex with him
each time. After an OSBI special agent interviewed the victim, agents arrested
Hoffman at 329 N. 24th in Clinton and booked her into the Custer County jail.
She is being charged with Facilitating Sexual Conduct or Communication with
Minor by Use of Technology, which carries up to 10 years in prison or up to
a $10,000 fine; two counts of Second Degree Rape, each carries up to 15
years in prison; and with Pattern of Criminal Offenses, which carries up to 2
years or a fine of up to $25,000. Her bond was reduced to $30,000.

Two robbery suspects lost their loot to the wind after a holdup at a travel
agent’s office, police video shows.
Surveillance footage shows money dropping from the pockets of an unidentified man’s pants as the robbers flee the travel agency in Droylsden, northern
England, according to police. Gusty winds then scatter the bills in the street
and foil attempts to collect it. Greater Manchester Police released footage of
the bungled getaway online. “This duo threatened innocent people working
in the travel agents and should know their actions are utterly unacceptable,”
Detective Constable Phil Scargill said via a statement. “They took every step
to secure the money in the shop, but left the stolen notes in their wake as they
fled from the scene,” Scargill added. It’s unclear how much money was stolen,
or whether any was recovered.
Here’s a volatile combination: nudity, guns, drugs and pizza. At least for Phillip Engle, the 27-year-old man who found himself in a not-so-happy situation
at Happy’s Pizza in Muskegon Charter Township, Michigan. Engle, who lives
next door, allegedly showed up at the pizzeria wearing just a towel with his
three young children in tow. According to the police incident report, Engle was
carrying a gun, and he used it to bang on the glass door until it shattered. The
gun then allegedly discharged, and police found a bullet casing lodged in the
door’s metal frame. Officers who responded to the scene say they found Engle
on his porch with a handgun. He threw the gun in the yard when ordered to
drop it. Later he told them that he had three loaded guns in his home, which
they confiscated for safekeeping. An employee at Happy’s Pizza told an officer
from the Muskegon Township Police Department that when Engle was at the
shop, he yelled, “No one will help me,” and “No one will feed my kids!” He also
allegedly said, “I’m trippin’ out!” Engle reportedly told police that he had earlier
consumed four hits of LSD. One of Engle’s young children told officers that
her father had also shot the dashboard of their car because it wouldn’t stop
beeping. They found a spent casing on the dashboard and what appeared to
be a bullet hole. According to Fox 17, Engle’s wife said she took out a personal
protection order from him. Engle was arraigned on four misdemeanor charges:
malicious destruction of property worth $200 to $1,000, careless discharge of
a firearm, reckless use of a firearm and possession of a firearm while under the
influence.
Imagine if Walter White of “Breaking Bad” had driven around wearing a hat
that read, “Meth.”
A man was sporting a beanie with the word “Weed” on it when he was pulled
over for a lane change no-no near La Pine, Ore. When the trooper explored
further, he found 6 pounds of weed worth $15,000 hidden in the car, according
to a police news release. Now, instead of a routine traffic violation, 32-year-old
Ali Reza Tabibnejad, of Missoula, Mont., faces charges of unlawful possession
and delivery of a controlled substance. This wouldn’t be the first case of a
suspect graphically telegraphing a crime. When Bryan Wendler, of Marathon
County, Wisc., was arrested on charges of drunken driving last year, he wore a
T-shirt that read, “Been Drinking? Free Breathalyzer Test: Blow Here.” An arrow
pointed at his crotch.

Although they are not a substitute for treatment, self-help groups like 12-step programs
can be a great source of support and encouragement while a person is engaged in treatment,
and after. The most well-known self-help groups
are those affiliated with Alcoholics Anonymous
(AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), and Cocaine
Anonymous (CA), all of which are based on the
12-step model.
Most drug addiction treatment programs encourage patients to participate
in a self-help group during and after formal treatment. These groups can be
particularly helpful during recovery, as they are a source of ongoing communal support and encouragement to stay drug free. Information on local meetings can be found on their websites. Support groups for family members of
people with addictions, like Al-anon and Alateen, can also be helpful.
There are other groups in the private sector that can provide a lot of support. To find meetings in your area, contact local hospitals, treatment centers, or faith-based organizations. These organizations often coordinate support groups for substance abuse.

no holding back now
Burns Flat man Daniel James Gentry, 25, was
put behind bars after he allegedly tried to flee police while at the hospital on April 28.
According to reports, Gentry was arrested after his fiancée called officers to their home in the
200 block of Cherokee Trail around 6:30 p.m.
The woman told officers that Gentry had threatened to take their 2-year-old son.
By the time police were on the scene, Gentry
had already left the property.
A short time later, his fiancée called and advised that Gentry was in Elk City and they could
stop searching for him. Officers instead went
back to the residence, where they found Gentry hiding underneath a bed. He refused to leave
his hiding spot. An officer lifted up the mattress.
Gentry crawled out of from under the bed and
started to stand up. An officer deployed his taser,
striking the man in the back.
Gentry complained of chest, neck and head pain – he then appeared to faint and
have a seizure. Medical personnel cleared Gentry for arrest, but the man had another seizure when he was put in the patrol car, so an officer took him to the hospital.
Gentry was uncooperative, and yelled and cussed at hospital staff. He kept ripping off the medical sensors, and also refused to pee, which delayed his toxicology
screening.
Around 2:30 a.m., the man ran out of his hospital room and tried to leave the
building through the emergency room doors. Officers were able to grab the man
and place him in handcuffs. Gentry started yelling and screaming. He refused to
follow directions of medical staff and accused everyone of stealing money from him.
At 4 a.m., he finally urinated, giving staff a urine sample. A toxicology screening
indicated he had illegal substances in his system that could possibly influence his
behavior. A doctor eventually cleared the man to be transported to jail at approximately 5 a.m.
Gentry is being charged with escape from arrest or detention and resisting an
officer. His bond was set at $20,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on
May 29, 2018.
