EL RENO MAN
CHARGED WITH RAPE
A 21-year-old El Reno man is facing several
charges related to rape after he allegedly assaulted a woman on the Oklahoma State campus in
Stillwater.
According to reports, OSU police officers were
dispatched to the Stillwater Medical Center on
September 17 to investigate a sexual assault. The
victim told an officer that she met Wyatt Brady Mehan on Tinder. The two texted and talked on the phone and went on a date.
During one of the dates, Mehan became sexually violent toward the woman.
She told officers that she asked Mehan to stop several times. He refused, however.
After the assault, Mehan allegedly told the victim, “Don’t go getting me in
trouble over this.” He also told her that he didn’t consider what happened to be
domestic violence.
The victim said Mehan threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the assault.
Mehan is being charged with sexual battery, two counts of rape by instrumentation, and domestic assault and battery. His bond was set at $50,000.

SUSPICIOUS SKOOLIE
A Virginia fugitive couple was arrested in Elk City after a
standoff on October 17.
According to reports, Elk City police officers were dispatched to investigate a welfare call. 33-year-old Karmella Kay Bentley said that she was traveling with Sidney
Patrick Martin, 35. She also reported that Martin had
threatened her with a firearm.
While investigating the incident, officers identified the
couple’s vehicle as a black Dodge truck with Virginia
plates. They were unable to locate the vehicle, however.
Officers then received a tip that led them to a dark blue
school bus that was parked at a convenience store on
South Main Street. The school bus had “Hurricane Help”
painted on the side.
Elk City police officers, Beckham County deputies, and
troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol worked together to set up surveillance around the school bus. Several law enforcement officers walked toward the bus.
Listening to officer commands, Bentley was the first one to surrender. Martin
also surrendered after a brief struggle. The couple was placed under arrest and
booked into the Beckham County Jail.
Officers searched the school bus and found various drug paraphernalia, five
firearms, and ammunition.
Bentley is being charged with fugitive from justice and unlawful possession of
drug paraphernalia.
Martin is being charged with fugitive from justice, possession of a firearm after
the former conviction of a felony, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
They are both scheduled to appear in court on November 18, 2024.

AROUND THE STATE
Gotta give kudos to a Jennings man who was
so determined to get to his court date on time in
Pawnee that he “borrowed” a LifeNet truck to get
there. But, alas, it was all for nothing.
Kody Ray Adams, 28, was charged September
25 with larceny of a motor vehicle, in Payne County District Court.
According to OHP, Adams was at a gas station
in Stillwater on September 24 asking people for a ride to Pawnee County for his
court date. When he couldn’t find a ride, he decided to hop in an unoccupied
LifeNet ambulance supervisor vehicle that had been left running.
OHP Ryan Trooper Long caught Adams at the courthouse walking in after
Adams had ditched the vehicle. Trooper Long arrested him after he admitted to
“borrowing” the vehicle, took him up to his court date, and then took him right
back to Payne County.
And guess what the court date was for??? Possession of a stolen vehicle.
Adams’ next court date was set for October 1, which he missed because
he was still in Payne County jail, and bond for the Pawnee County charge was
revoked.

PSYCHE!
Burns Flat man William Canon Lyles, 44, was
locked up after he allegedly led a police officer on a
pursuit while under the influence of alcohol on October 19.
According to court documents, a Washita County
deputy tried to stop a vehicle driven by William Canon
Lyles at mile marker 53 on I-40. Lyles didn’t come to
a complete stop - instead, he just slowed down and
moved to the right, off the roadway. He then drove
back onto I-40, traveling at a high rate of speed.
Lyles almost hit the back of a semi-truck and another vehicle. He exited off I-40 and
endangered other people and motorists as he came to a stop at a stop sign.
The man appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
Lyles is being charged with endangering others while eluding/attempting to elude
police officers and driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. His
bond was set at $25,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on November 12,
2024.
We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

AROUND THE NATION
MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A Miami Beach Corvette owner faced an unusual situation when he discovered an
intruder trapped inside his car and asked him for help
to get out.
“My brother, this is not your car, this is my car,” Julio
Solano, the owner of the car told 33-year-old Ravesh
Rabindranauth.
“Can I get out?” Rabindranauth was heard asking
Solano while being recorded on the victim’s cellphone.
“No, you can’t get out. We’re calling the cops,” Solano replied.
Solano told a local news station that he was stunned when he returned to his car after
breakfast and found Rabindranauth sitting inside, pleading for help.
The incident unfolded at a parking garage on Washington Avenue and 16th Street in
Miami Beach.
Miami Beach police arrived on the scene and arrested Rabindranauth, who now faces
burglary charges.
Julio Solano believes that while Rabindranauth managed to break into the vehicle, he
was unable to start it or escape due to the car’s security system.
“The car’s electrical components don’t function without the keys, and fortunately, he
didn’t know about the manual door release under the seat,” said Solano.
Investigators said Solano had notified the owner of Premiere Auto Miami 1, an exotic
car rental company that stores its vehicles in the garage.
Authorities said Rabindranauth was read his Miranda rights and agreed to speak with
the officers. A routine records check revealed no local criminal history or outstanding
warrants.
Jail records show he is facing one count of burglary of an unoccupied conveyance.
He was taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where his bond was
set at $2,500.

FALLING STAR
Home Improvement actor Zachery Ty Bryan, 43,
who played Brad Taylor on the show, was arrested
in Custer County on October 25 for an alleged DUI.
This wasn’t the actor’s first time driving while intoxicated. Reports state this was actually the man’s
second DUI arrest in 2025. It was also his fifth overall
DUI.
An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper stopped Bryan, who told him, “I’m just a good dude, man. I don’t know why everybody…I’m sorry
I like to drink.”
“You have zero judgment from me,” the trooper said to Bryan in response. “Here’s
the deal: I got you for driving under the influence. It’s a safety deal. If we were just to
leave you there and we’re not going to know if you’re going to stay there or drive away.
Like you’ve said yourself, you’re not safe to drive, but we deal with public safety.”
Bryan is being charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of
alcohol, second and subsequent, and driving with license canceled/ suspended/ revoked. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 10, 2025.
