Cookson, 27, pled guilty Nov. 7 to Interstate Travel or Transportation in
Aid of Racketeering Enterprises.
Charges are a result of an investigation by the Oklahoma Bureau of
Narcotics and was coordinated by the
Organized Crime Drug Enforcement
Task Force (OCDETF) of the Eastern
District of Oklahoma. OCDETF is an
initiative led, and coordinated by, the
Office of the United States Attorney.
Cookson was indicted in July, 2014.
The Indictment alleged that beginning on or about April 22, 2012,
Cookson traveled in interstate commerce from the State of Oklahoma to Little Rock, Arkansas, and purchased Oxycodone from
Walgreens Pharmacy with a false prescription with the intent to
promote, manage, establish, carry on and facilitate the promotion,
management, establishment and carrying on of an unlawful activity, that is, a business enterprise involving narcotics or controlled
substances, and thereafter performed or attempted to perform an
act to promote, manage, establish and carry on, and to facilitate the
promotion, management, establishment and carrying on, of such
unlawful activity.
A federal judge accepted the guilty plea and ordered the completion of a pre-sentence report. Sentencing will be scheduled following its completion. Cookson will remain in the custody of the United
States Marshal Service pending sentencing.
The statutory range of punishment is not more than 5 years imprisonment and/or up to a $250,000 fine.

On Nov. 5, OSBI agents, McClain County Sheriff deputies, a forensic
anthropologist with Offi ce of the Chief Medical Examiner, and the head
of OU’s Crime Scene Archeology Recovery Group are combing an area
of McClain County searching for Troy Neidhart’s remains. Neidhart was
reported missing a dozen years ago.
On September 2002, the Oklahoma City Police Department received a
report that Troy Neidhart, 37, was missing. Neidhart was a local bounty
hunter. As OCPD detectives worked the case, they gathered information
that Neidhart may have been murdered.
On March 15, 2004, skeletal remains were found in McClain County.
The sheriff ’s offi ce requested OSBI investigative assistance. During the
scene investigation, less than half the remains were located. However,
the medical examiner’s offi ce did determine the person died of gunshot
wounds to the back and head.
In 2006, the medical examiner’s offi ce identifi ed the remains found in McClain County to be
Neidhart’s. For the next several years, agents ran numerous leads. Ultimately, the case became
cold.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is off ering up to a $5,000 reward for information
leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who killed Troy Neidhart more than
12 years ago. If anyone has information about what happened to Troy Neidhart, please call the

A Wagoner man who allegedly shot 25 rounds into his neighbor’s backyard told police his neighbors just hated him when he
was arrested on October 30.
A Wagoner County deputy was dispatched to S. 341 Loop in
Wagoner around 11:22 p.m. due to shots fired. The caller said
28-year-old James Jason Pruegert had driven a vehicle behind
her house and started shooting, the affidavit states. She said
she could hear rounds hitting her house, storage buildings and
swimming pool.
When the deputy arrived, he spoke to the victim and witnesses who backed up the victim’s story. The victim said she heard
her neighbor’s dogs barking and looked out the window. She
saw Pruegert’s black SUV driving along her fence; she then saw
Pruegert exit the vehicle and start shooting at her home.
The deputy went to Pruegert’s house and saw the man standing in the doorway at the back
of the residence. Officers ordered him out of the house, but Pruegert initially refused to comply. He eventually exited the house, however, and the deputy placed him in handcuffs.
Pruegert smelled like alcohol, he had bloodshot eyes, and his speech was slurred.
When the deputy asked him how much alcohol he had consumed, he said a beer and four
ounces of whiskey.
Pruegert denied shooting a gun at his neighbor’s residence.
Officers walked behind the victim’s house and found 25 spent 20-gauge shotgun shells.
They went back to his home, and received permission from Pruegert’s wife to search the
man’s home. They found shotgun shells matching the rounds at the victim’s residence. In
a black SUV parked by the house, officers found a shotgun with a live round matching the
rounds found inside Pruegert’s home.
Pruegert’s wife told the deputy she was asleep, and she didn’t know if her husband had
been in the house or not. The deputy placed Pruegert under arrest. Pruegert kept saying,
“This is a joke.”
Nope.
The deputy told him he located shotgun rounds in his home that matched the rounds found
being the victim’s home. Pruegert had a perfectly good explanation. “They just hate me,” he
said.
Pruegert is being charged with feloniously discharging a firearm into dwelling, obstructing
an officer and carrying a firearm while under the influence. He was released on a $75,000
bond and is scheduled to appear in court on December 3, 2014.

Two Sallisaw men were taken to jail October 22 after they tried altering a doctor’s prescription to get drugs they weren’t allowed to have.
According to the affidavit, a Sallisaw police officer was dispatched to a local pharmacy
around 4:45 p.m. due to someone trying to obtain meds with an altered prescription. When
he arrived, he met with an employee, who pointed to a man and said the man had brought
in two prescriptions, and both the dates and the amounts appeared to have been changed on
the prescriptions.
The officer spoke to the man, who identified himself as 21-year-old Trent Tyler Sanders.
Sanders appeared nervous and shaky, and he asked the officer if something was wrong. The
officer asked him if he had altered the prescriptions. Sanders became agitated, and he told
the officer he wasn’t going to jail.
The officer asked him how the prescriptions had been altered; he said someone else may
have done it.
The officer asked him if he was parked outside. When he said yes, the officer asked him
who was in the vehicle. Sanders said he couldn’t tell him.
The officer went outside to see who was in the vehicle. He found a man he recognized as
20-year-old Devin Ryan Kutil. Kutil said he didn’t have anything to do with the altered prescriptions.
The officer told him he was going to pat him down, and he asked Kutil if he had anything
on him.
Kutil said no -- he lied. The officer found two unused syringes and needles in his front pocket. Kutil continued to
deny knowing about the prescriptions, but he said Sanders had just left the doctor’s officer.
Police placed Sanders under arrest. On the way to jail, he told police Kutil had altered the prescriptions. Kutil was
also placed under arrest and transported to jail.
The doctor who wrote the prescriptions told police that both the dates and amounts had been changed.
Sanders is being charged with conspiracy and attempting to obtain a controlled substance by forgery or fraud. He
was released on a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on December 3, 2014.
Kutil is being charged with conspiracy and attempting to obtain a controlled substance by forgery or fraud. Bond
info was unknown at time of print. He is scheduled to appear in court on November 19, 2014.

The term “outgunned” doesn’t quite do this story justice. Derrick Mosley
strolled into a discount gun store with a baseball bat, smashed a glass display case and tried to steal a firearm. Yes, he tried to rob a gun shop with
a baseball bat. What happened next? The manager pulled out a gun of his
own, pointed it at Derrick and kept him in the crosshairs until the police arrived. Don’t be too hard on yourself Derrick. Guns in a gun store? Nobody
could have anticipated that.
A customer at Applebee’s handed a waitress her own stolen driver’s license in an attempt to order alcohol. The culprit was a 26-year-old woman,
so she didn’t need to use a fake ID to buy her margarita anyway, but we’ll
set that aside. Kudos to the waitress, who remained calm, told the customer
she was off to get her drink and called the police instead.
Getaway cars are just for the movies. Real criminals use getaway donkeys. A trio of Columbian robbers in the exotic sounding town Juan de
Acosta loaded stolen rum, rice, tuna and sardines onto Xavi, a 10-year-old
donkey. It was all going to plan, but then the donkey starting “heehawing”.
Loudly. The racket alerted police to the robbery and the burglars ran.

Deaths in

alcohol concentration (BAC) of

in 2010, but
despite this decrease, there
were still 10,228
lives lost – that’s
one person every 51 minutes. That makes it everyone's problem.
It seems that many people were doing their part to put a stop to
this completely preventable epidemic. Alcohol-related traffic fatalities reached a low point in the late 1990s. Research also indicates
that 62% of Americans exposed to the now-iconic Friends Don't Let
Friends Drive Drunk campaign have personally intervened to stop
someone from driving drunk, no doubt saving countless lives.
However, since the late 90's, alcohol-related driving deaths have
been steadily increasing. It seems that though the campaign was
very successful, it did not change the behavior of many potential impaired drivers. Many thought the messages to be targeted at overtly
drunk drivers, and not them. When decision time came, they would
consider themselves merely "buzzed" and get behind the wheel.
The new PSAs created to address this gap were released in December 2005 with the objective to inspire dialogue and recognition of the
dangers of "buzzed" driving and subsequently, to motivate people
to stop driving buzzed. The next installment expands on this message, equating buzzed driving and drunk driving and demonstrating
the devastating consequences that can occur as a result of buzzed
driving. The overall campaign hopes to educate people that consuming even a few drinks can impair driving and that Buzzed Driving is

A Kentucky woman was arrested on November 4
for crystal meth possession while wearing a t-shirt
that said “I Heart Crystal Meth”
Deborah Delane Asher, 37, was charged with trafficking a control substance, methamphetamine in
the photo seen above. Richard Jeffrey Rice, 57, was
also arrested at that time and faces the same charges. According to the Laurel Co. Sheriff’s Department,
“the arrests were the result of a drug investigation
conducted there after deputies located 2 subjects in
possession of 3.37 grams of crystal meth and a set of
digital scales.”
The arrests were made at Dolly Miller Road, six miles north of London,
Kentucky.

A Muskogee man is among nine
people who were indicted Nov. 6
on federal charges.
Hank Joshua Bell, 34, was indicted on charges of felon in possession of a firearm by a federal
grand jury.
The Indictment alleges that on or
about October 8, 2014, within the
Eastern District of Oklahoma, the
defendant, having been convicted
of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one
year, did knowingly possess in and
affecting commerce firearms which
had been shipped and transported
in interstate commerce.
The charges arose from an investigation by the Muskogee Police
Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The charges
are in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 922(g)(1),
punishable by not more than 10 years imprisonment and/or up to a
$250,000.00 fine.

A Mounds man faces several felony
charges after police found him in possession of an illegal weapon, drugs,
and paraphernalia.
Loyd Steve Davis, Jr., 33, was
charged Oct. 29 with possession of a
sawed-off shotgun, possession of CDS,
and possession of paraphernalia, in
Okmulgee County District Court.
According to court documents, on
Sept. 12, Davis was found to be in
possession of the weapon, along with
meth and drug paraphernalia.
A bench warrant revocation for his
arrest on a suspended sentence was issued Sept. 12 when he failed to pay on older charges of possession of
marijuana and resisting an officer, filed Dec. 3, 2013.
Bond was set for Davis at $50,000 and he was ordered back to
court for his preliminary hearing Nov. 20.

BREAKING AND ENTERING
OSBI agents have arrested a Guthrie man for sexually assaulting
and beating an 85-year-old woman December 25, 1997. David
Jerome Stephens, II, 35, was arrested Oct. 23, at his home located
at 11775 Red Cedar Road in Guthrie.
An OSBI DNA analyst alerted the OSBI case agent of a DNA hit
on the case from the Combined DNA Index System. Days before
the statute of limitations would have run out, that agent filed a
John Doe warrant based off a DNA profile collected from the rape
victim. The warrant allowed the case to legally remain active.
Moena House was beaten with a pipe and sexually assaulted
Christmas morning inside her Guthrie home after giving in to her
attacker’s demands for money. House died in 2008.
DNA was collected from Stephens for a 2013 conviction of
possession of a controlled dangerous drug within 1000 feet of a school/park/child. Stephens has a
lengthy arrest record starting in 1997.
