We hear many times from people that the arresting
offi cer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. this
is Not true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
there are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. oK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.

A Tahlequah woman with an obvious
anger problem had to be taken into custody via a taser zap after she socked her
mother and an officer in the face.
Kaylynn Sharp, 22, faces felony charges
of assault and battery on a police officer
and domestic abuse- assault and battery.
According to the probable cause affidavit, a Cherokee County deputy was called
to a domestic disturbance on Hilltop Circle between a mother and her daughter.
When he arrived, the mother told the deputy she had been hit
several times in the face by her daughter, Sharp, and her daughter was hiding in the garage.
The deputy found Sharp in the garage. She explained that she
and her boyfriend had gotten into a fight and her mother had
threatened to call the police on them, so she hit her mother several times in the face.
The deputy asked Sharp to step outside so they could all discuss the problem, but while they were going outside, Sharp became agitated and began cussing. The mother told the deputy
she wanted to press charges, and that’s when all the fun began.
Sharp declared she was not going to f**king jail and headed
back for the house, slamming the door in the deputy’s face. When
he opened the door, she was standing in front of him in an aggressive manor. He then grabbed her arm and tried to take her to
the ground to cuff her, but she struck him in the face just under
his left eye. Sharp continued to struggle, so another officer from
the Cherokee Nation was forced zap her with his taser in order to
get her to comply.
She was placed under arrest and was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center where she was booked in.

Oh, to be young again…
Police have arrested a high school
sophomore after they learned she gave
them a false name and is actually 31
years old.
KLTV reported the Longview, Texas, investigation found Charity Anne
Johnson is 31.
Johnson was enrolled at New Life
Christian School as “Charity Stevens.”
School officials said a person claiming to be her guardian brought her to
enroll.
She gave the school a fake birth date
that would have made her 15.
The school discovered her false identity Tuesday.
She has been at student at the school since October 2013.
Resident Tamica Lincoln said Charity told her she was 15 and
needed a place to stay back in March.
“I sympathized with her and invited her into my home,” Lincoln
told KLTV. “I took her in as a child, did her hair, got her clothes and
shoes.”
Lincoln said Charity claimed she was abused by her biological father and that her mother was dead.
Lincoln told KLTV she acted as Charity’s guardian and even met
with Charity’s 10th grade teachers at New Life Christian School.
“I just don’t know why she did it,” Lincoln said. “Why put yourself
and others at risk to do something like this? I have deep concerns
about her being who, we don’t know she is, and then she’s out there
at the school.”
Lincoln said she called police and went straight to the school as
soon as soon as she realized Charity was using a fake identity.
“Teachers were crying and students were crying and her best friend
just couldn’t believe it,” Lincoln said.
Johnson was arrested for failure to identify/giving false, fictitious
information.
KLTV said she is in the Gregg County Jail on $500 bond.

What would have been a simple
traffic stop for running a stop sign
ended up with a damaged jail cell and
the suspect threatening to run over a
police officer.
On April 30, a Wagoner police officer stopped Broken Bow man Arthur
Ray Kratz, 32, after he saw him run a
stop sign on North Taylor.
According to the affidavit, the officer smelled a strong odor of alcohol
when he made contact with Kratz.
He asked Kratz how much alcohol
he had consumed, but Kratz told him none. Kratz would later admit to drinking a pint of vodka.
Kratz also had slurred, mumbled speech. Kratz refused to take
the sobriety tests, and he was taken to jail after police discovered
his license was suspended.
Once at the jail, Kratz became loud, belligerent and argumentative with police. He refused to take the state's test and kept telling the officer he would just sign papers saying he was drunk.
He threatened to hit the officer, and when police escorted him
back to the booking room, Kratz swung a cell door open, slamming it into in electrical outlet and damaging it.
Kratz continued his rampage, striking another officer in the
face, threatening to kill an officer and told another officer that he
was going to run him over.
Kratz then looked at the officer and told him, "I'll get you."
Kratz is being charged with assault and battery upon a police
officer, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with license
suspended, failure to stop at stop sign and two counts of threatening to perform act of violence. He was released on a $3,000
bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 21, 2014.

Hoover
They say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Muldrow man Byron Dwayne Mister Hoover, 45,
showed that this statement was true when he was arrested for making a scene while inquiring why his son
had been arrested.
According to the affidavit, Hoover went to the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Department on April 28 and
started causing problems at the secretary's window, demanding to know why police arrested his son.
Apparently, Hoover's wife had been in earlier that
weekend and almost busted down the door, according
to the police report.
What a lovely family.
When a deputy spoke to Hoover, Hoover wanted to
know why deputies had asked to speak to his son and
why they arrested him when he got to the sheriff's department. The deputy explained
the reason, and Hoover asked why he wasn't told that before his son was brought to the
sheriff's department.
When the deputy told Hoover they didn't have to tell him the reason, Hoover became
angry and started yelling and moving his hands back and forth, causing a scene.
The deputy took him to his office warned him to calm down. Hoover didn't listen,
however, and kept interrupting and yelling at the deputy. Another officer walked into
the office, and the deputy told him to take him to jail.
Hoover refused to get out of the chair, so the officer forcibly pulled him from the
chair, placed him under arrest and walked him to jail.
Nothing like some good ol' father-son bonding time while in jail.
Hoover is being charged with disorderly conduct and resisting an officer. He was released on a $4,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on May 7, 2014.

Brandon Workman, age 28, of Stilwell, OK, was sentenced Friday, April 4th in Adair County Case No. CF-2014-
50, CF-2013-199, CF-2013-98 and CF-2013-53 to a total of
ten (10) years imprisonment with the first five (5) years to
be served in prison and the remaining five (5) years to be
suspended pursuant to rules of supervised probation under the custody and control of the Oklahoma Department
of Corrections.
In CF-2014-50 Workman was charged with and entered
a plea to being in possession of a firearm after being convicted of previous felony offenses. Workman was already
serving a term of probation for Arson 2nd Degree, Eluding a Police Officer, and Domestic Assault and Battery by
Strangulation when he committed the new offense. As a part of a plea agreement with
the State of Oklahoma, Workman’s probation was revoked on each of the probation
cases for a cumulative result placing Workman in prison for a five (5) year term with
five years probation following his release.
These cases were investigated by the Westville Police Department and the Adair
County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant District Attorney Joshua C. King prosecuted the cases.

A homeless man who was just released
from jail back in March will probably find a
new home in the county jail or state pen after he robbed a local convenience store.
Chad Wayne Hurley, 35, was charged
with second-degree robbery on May 5 in
Muskogee County District Court.
According to court records, Hurley entered the Kum & Go on Southside Blvd. on
May 1 and demanded $60 from the clerk.
The clerk, fearing for his safety, handed him
exactly $60, and Hurley left the store.
Hurley, who is a registered sex offender, was soon caught by police with
the aid of a citizen.
Bond was set at $75,000 for Hurley and he appeared in court May 15.

An Okmulgee man was taken into
custody after he allegedly pointed a
gun at his girlfriend in front of their
baby.
Jacob Johnson, 20, was charged
May 13 with feloniously pointing a
firearm and domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor in Okmulgee County District Court.
According to court records, on May
6, Johnson allegedly pointed a handgun at his girlfriend “for the purpose
of threatening or with the intention of discharging the firearm…”
He also is accused of hitting his girlfriend in the presence of
their 5-month-old baby.
Bond was set for Johnson at $15,000 and he was ordered back
to court June 16 for his preliminary hearing.

Not many people wear fanny packs anymore, but when they do, they just might be
hiding something suspicious.
Apparently, no one told John Frederick Hutchinson that fanny packs were so
90s, because the 56-year-old Purcell man was caught wearing one with a plethora of
illegal items inside.
Maybe he just likes to keep his drugs within reach.
According to the affidavit, Chandler police were advised on April 11 that Hutchinson,
who was wanted on a Lincoln County felony warrant, was walking southbound on
Dewey wearing a fanny pack. Police located a man that matched the description of
the suspect walking southbound on Iowa north of Eighth Street. They made contact with the suspect
and positively identified him as Hutchinson, and placed him under arrest for his warrant.
Before placing Hutchinson in the patrol vehicle, the officer conducted a search and asked him if he
had anything the officer needed to know about. Hutchinson admitted that he had marijuana in his
fanny pack.
That wasn’t the only thing.
Hutchinson told the officer where to locate the drug. The officer bravely went where not many have
gone before — inside another man’s fanny pack to locate the weed.
The officer found a green leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana, two packages of rolling
papers, a syringe and three lighters.
Someone was ready to party out of his fanny pack.
Hutchinson is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and unlawful
possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $3,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court
on May 1, 2014.
