The store next door
A 71-year-old Cookson man who wandered
into the wrong store looking for some booze
was carted off to jail after he allegedly shot at an
employee who told him the drink was next door.
According to reports, on October 21, a Tahlequah officer was dispatched to Unlimited Pools
due to shots being fired in the area. On the way
to the scene, he was advised that a state trooper had stopped the suspect in front of Casey’s
on South Muskogee Avenue.
The trooper explained that the suspect, Gordon Eugene Gregory, had pulled out in front
of him at Unlimited Pools. He then asked the
trooper to arrest him. When the officer tried to
escort the man to a patrol car, Gregory kept trying to jump out in front of oncoming vehicles.
An Unlimited Pools employee told police that Gregory walked into the business and asked for a six-pack of beer. The employee told him the beer would
be at the liquor store next door. For some reason, Gregory didn’t seem to
like this answer – he pulled out a gun and pointed it at the employee. The
employee was able to duck before Gregory pulled the trigger, hitting the wall
just above the employee.
Gregory then left the store, jumped in his truck and fired one more round
into the air at the end of the parking lot.
A witness who was working at the liquor store said he heard a gunshot
coming from Unlimited Pools. He then heard his dad yell at him to call 911.
The man said he ran toward the store next door and saw Gregory holding a
revolver.
Gregory was booked into jail on complaints of aggravated assault and battery with a deadly weapon, driving under the influence of drugs, possession
of a firearm while intoxicated, reckless conduct with a firearm, resisting arrest,
taxes due state, improper use of turn lane, no seatbelt and improper stopping/parking. He is scheduled to appear in court on November 12, 2019.

Wagoner Man Found Guilty for
Sexually Exploiting a Child
A federal jury convicted a Wagoner man of
sexual exploitation of a child and of possession of child pornography.
Rogelio Hernandez Rodriguez, 30, was
found guilty of sexually exploiting the minor
victim and inducing the victim to engage in
sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of
producing child pornography. Rodriguez was
further found guilty of knowingly possessing
and accessing with intent to view child pornography. The 524 sexually graphic images
and videos depicted the sexual abuse of the
prepubescent victim and were stored on hard
drives and multiple SD cards.
During closing statements, the prosecution
reminded the jury of the crimes perpetrated against the victim and of what the
child had to endure. They asked the jury to return a verdict of guilty to assure
the victim that what happened to him was illegal and it was wrong.
“Crimes against children are reprehensible. I know not what could bring an
adult to sexually abuse a child to produce or consume child pornography.
But I do know there is something that U.S. Attorneys can and will do about
it,” said U.S. Attorney Trent Shores. “With the help of our law enforcement
partners, we will identify these child predators and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law to ensure that they answer for their vile crimes. That is
what happened in this case, and a just result was reached. Thanks to the hard
work of dedicated investigators and prosecutors, there is one less predator
on the streets.”
U.S. District Judge Gregory K. Frizzell presided over the trial and set sentencing for Jan. 30, 2020. Rodriguez faces a maximum penalty of 30 years
in prison, a $250,000 fine, and at least 5 years of supervised release for the
sexual exploitation of a child. He further faces a maximum penalty of 20 years
in prison, a $250,000 fine, and at least 5 years of supervised release for possession of child pornography.
The Wagoner Police Department and FBI investigated the case.

Tips for Parents:
• Teach your children that they have the right to say NO
to any unwelcome, uncomfortable, or confusing touch
or actions by others. Teach them to tell you immediately
if this happens. Reassure them that you are there to
help and it is okay to tell you anything.
• Be sensitive to any changes in your children’s behavior
or attitude. Encourage open communication and learn
how to be an active listener. Look and listen to small
cues and clues that something may be troubling your
children, because children are not always comfortable
disclosing disturbing events or feelings. This may be
because they are concerned about your reaction to their
problems. If your children do confide problems to you,
strive to remain calm, non-critical, and nonjudgmental.
Listen compassionately to their concern and work with
them to get the help they need to resolve the problem.

A Florida couple arrested for DUI reportedly attempted to have sexual intercourse in the back of the patrol vehicle about to transport them to jail.
According to PEOPLE Magazine, officials said the couple—identified as
35-year-old Megan Lynn Mondanaro and 31-year-old Seth Aaron Thomas—
were seen attempting to disrobe in the back of the Nassau County Sheriff’s
Office squad car. They had been riding bicycles at night without running lights
and reportedly came in close contact with a motorist when a deputy spotted
and stopped them.
Mondanaro was charged with DUI, exposing sex organs, unnatural and lascivious act and resisting without violence.
Thomas was charged with threat against a public official, unnatural and lascivious act, exposing sex organs and DUI.
Both Thomas and Mondanaro reportedly have lengthy criminal records.
A man who reportedly claimed to be a police officer during an argument with
an employee of a strip club in Waverly, NE—a suburb of Lincoln— now faces
criminal charges of making terroristic threats and impersonating a police officer.
According to the Lincoln Journal Star, Capt. John Vik of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said the man—identified as 26-year-old Keith Charles Urban—had been causing a disturbance at the Shakers Gentleman’s Club and
was being escorted from the building when Urban claimed to be a police officer
armed with a handgun.
An employee told deputies that during the confrontation, Urban drew what
appeared to be a Glock from his waistband and pressed it against the employee’s midsection.
Vik said the man then fled in a vehicle but was apprehended at a vehicle stop
shortly thereafter. Inside the vehicle, deputies reportedly found a CO2 BB gun
that looked like a handgun.
A New York man was arrested after he allegedly tried to pull over a van full of
police detectives.
According to Fox News, the man—identified as 25-year-old Valiery Portlock—reportedly activated emergency lights and sounded an air horn as he
attempted to pull the van over in the Long Island town of Hicksville.
When the occupants of the van—members of the Nassau County Police Department’s electronics squad—identified themselves, Portlock reportedly fled
the scene. He was later arrested by highway patrol and charged with criminal
impersonation, reckless endangerment, and fleeing the police.
A knucklehead Ohio bank robber slipped a teller a hold-up note — with his
name and address scrawled on it, officials said.
Michael Harrell, 54, entered a US Bank branch in Cleveland and passed the
not-so-discreet note, the FBI said.
“When the teller took the note, and looked at it and looked at the other side,
she saw his name, he had used a note that he had used earlier at the [Ohio
Bureau of Motor Vehicles] and it had his name on it,” FBI Special Agent Vicki
Anderson told news station WIVB.
The teller reportedly complied with his demand and handed Harrell $206
before calling the authorities.
“She actually even referred to him as Michael. Gave him the money and called
him Michael and then notified law enforcement,” Anderson said.
Harrell, who was a frequent customer, has been arrested in the robbery, CNN
reported. It’s unclear if charges have been filed against him.

Washington State, received a not-so-ordinary
donation. While sorting
through donations, employees scored a cooler full of weed. Not just a couple
grams, but five whole bags full. Talk about a surprise.
Employees discovered the weed while sorting through donations that day.
So, they decided to call the cops.
Police attempted to track down the cooler’s owner, but the mission was
unsuccessful since they didn’t know if it was donated at this location or at a
Goodwill trailer that sits in another town.
Meanwhile, a lot of people on social media are claiming the cooler is theirs.
According to Debbie Willis of the Monroe Police Department, no one has yet
to fetch it, though.
Believe it or not, pot isn’t the strangest contribution to come through Goodwill’s doors. In fact, people commonly leave the most random of things behind
with their donated goods.
According to Katherine Boury, a spokesperson for Goodwill, employees
once came across three human skulls.
“In 2014, three human skulls were found. We worked with authorities to
track down the origin of the Native American skull for proper burial.”
Two of the skulls had been used for medical research, while the other one
was a Native American skull that was more than 100 years old.
So, what’s the pending date of the donated cannabis? According to Willis,
it’s only a moment of time before it goes to waste.
“It’s sitting in our evidence, waiting yearly burn of that type of evidence.”
At the present time, it’s legal in Washington to possess once ounce of cannabis if you’re 21 and over. The donated stash was 60 times over that limit.

More than 100,000 children and
youth in the U.S. foster care system are awaiting permanent families. National Adoption Month is a
time to raise awareness about the
adoption of children and youth
from foster care.
The Children’s Bureau in partnership with AdoptUSKids and
Child Welfare Information Gateway sponsors the initiative each November as a way to focus public attention on the urgent need for adoptive families for children and youth waiting
in foster care for a permanent family. This year’s focus, “Partnering for
Permanency,” builds on the social media theme from last year. A special
web page on Information Gateway’s website helps child welfare professionals, prospective adoptive parents, and youth partner for permanency.
The website contains resources, stories, and videos on topics such as getting started with social media, how to build a recruitment campaign, and
how social media impacts child welfare and adoption. The website can be
found at http://www.childwelfare.gov/adoption/nam/.

A 20-year-old Muskogee man is facing a felony
charge of shooting with intent to kill after he allegedly shot at a residence on October 9, hitting a
woman who was inside.
According to the police report, David Neil Dunn,
Jr., allegedly drove by a residence in the 1400 block
of Sallie Street at approximately 1 p.m. in a red truck.
He then fired at the residence with a .22-caliber firearm, hitting a woman with at least two bullets.
Reports state the woman was found shot inside
the home. She was able to talk to police about the
incident, and she said a vehicle had left the area
after she was hit with bullets.
Officers later found the suspect during a traffic stop driving the same red
truck – he was arrested for local warrants and possession of marijuana.
While searching the man’s vehicle, officers found a 22-caliber firearm.
Officers spoke to Dunn about the shooting, and he admitted that he was
the guilty person who shot at the residence.
Dunn is being charged with shooting with intent to kill. He is scheduled
to appear in court on December 30, 2019.
