Tulsa man Deric John Spear, 29, was arrested
September 20 after he was caught riding around Catoosa with a baggy full of weed in a stolen vehicle.
According to the police report, a Catoosa officer
received a call shortly after 2 p.m. from a person who
noticed two men leaving a house known for drug activity. The caller said the men left in a silver SUV and
returned to the Woodbriar Lane residence on foot
about a minute later.
The officer found the SUV and checked its tag. The
vehicle came back as stolen out of Tulsa.
In search of the two men seen driving the SUV, the
officer went to the residence. The homeowner told him the men were inside. The
officer placed both men under arrest for the stolen vehicle. One of them was identified as Spear.
Spear wanted to take some things with him to jail, but not before the officer
searched them first. The officer found a small baggy containing a green leafy substance in the man’s belongings. It field-tested positive for marijuana.
That was one thing Spear definitely wasn’t taking with him to jail.
This wasn’t the man’s first arrest for the drug. The officer discovered the man
was a convicted felon and had a previous possession of marijuana conviction.
Spear is being charged with possession of stolen vehicle and possession of controlled dangerous substance. His bond was set at $12,000, and he is scheduled to
appear in court on October 14, 2015.

The Tahlequah Police Department
has lately been taking theft reports
from local businesses, which include
stolen television and laptops.
Sgt. Jason Girdner spotted a vehicle
October 2 described as being involved
in a television theft. The vehicle pulled
into a local business and left. Samantha Hornett, who was dropped off by
the vehicle, left the store on foot. Hornett was arrested by Sgt Jason Girdner shortly after for stealing razors after the local business called the police.
While this was going on, K9 Officer
Luke Hixon and Officer Cory Keele
stopped the suspect vehicle. After further investigation, marijuana, drug
paraphernalia, multiple access cards,
and credit cards were located inside
the vehicle, according to Tahlequah
Police.
Detective Brian Swim and Cpt. Steve Young arrived at the traffic stop. Jory
Poafpybitty, Tanner Pritchett, and Stephanie Holcomb were arrested from the
traffic stop and transported for the detectives to speak with them.
After interviews were conducted, the cases involving the stolen television, laptop, and theft from Walmart were closed with charges being filed. Detectives and
Officers are trying to locate the property so it can be returned.

Paul Benjamin Stone, 34, of Muskogee, pled
guilty to possession of certain material involving
sexual exploitation of minors, punishable by up
to 10 years imprisonment, up to a $250,000 fine
or both.
The Indictment alleged that between on or
about August 1, 2013, and on or about April 16,
2014, Stone did knowingly possess and attempt
to possess matters which contained visual depictions and the production of said visual depictions
involved the use of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct and had been
transported in interstate commerce by computer.
The charges arose from an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The Honorable Kimberly E. West, Magistrate Judge in the United States District
Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee, accepted the guilty plea
and ordered the completion of a presentence report. Sentencing will be scheduled
following its completion.

Recently, The Oklahoma
Bureau of Narcotics received
a report of marijuana being
cultivated on Spavinaw Wildlife Management Area. An
agent from the OBN located
the patch and started an operation to catch the grower.
On Oct. 4, Oklahoma Game
Warden Kody Moore, went in
to check the grow and found
that the plants had been removed. Surveillance photos
revealed the identity of the
person harvesting the cannabis.
Wardens and Agents had
several reports that this individual had been growing on
the wildlife management area for several years and lived within 50 yards of the
grow operation.
The officers wrote a search warrant on that afternoon. Warden Moore and the
OBN agent were joined by Oklahoma Game Warden Marni Loftis, an Investigator
from the Delaware County Sheriff's Office and Troopers from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Upon executing the warrant, the officers found 20+ marijuana plants,
methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.
Three individuals were arrested, with one of them having outstanding arrest warrants in Mayes County. Multiple charges were filed on the other two individuals.

20-year-old Chanel Diamond Khammarath was arrested at
the scene of a car accident on September 20.
The problem? The Chicago, Illinois, woman wasn’t even involved in the accident -- she just couldn’t keep her mouth shut.
A Nowata County deputy was dispatched to a vehicle accident
on County Road 1 about a half mile east of County Road 408
around 1:45 a.m. On the way, he was advised that there was an
intoxicated person on scene causing problems. The intoxicated
person wasn’t even involved in the accident.
When the deputy arrived, he made contact with Khammarath, who had bloodshot watery eyes and smelled like alcohol. According to the affidavit, he told
Khammarath she needed to leave since she had nothing to do with the vehicle
accident investigation.
Four of Khammarath’s friends were on scene, and they were all trying to get her
to get in a car and leave.
She didn’t listen. Instead, she began throwing items around and cussing. She
said, “F--- you. I’m not going anywhere. I’m waiting on someone.”
She then started fighting the friends who were trying to save her drunk butt
from getting arrested.
The deputy told the woman she was under arrest.
Khammarath started to fight and pull away, but officers managed to get her in
handcuffs. One of the deputies on scene said Khammarath had been throwing
rocks at deputies. One of the rocks hit a patrol vehicle, chipping the paint.
Khammarath is being charged with assault and battery on police officer, assault
on police officer, malicious injury to property under $1,000 and public intoxication. Her bond was set at $2,500, and she is scheduled to appear in court on
December 18, 2015.

Jay man Alan Francis Daniels, 50, was pissed off when
he saw the flashing red lights of a fire truck in his neighborhood. So pissed off, in fact, that he grabbed his gun
and fired at responders.
According to the affidavit, a Delaware deputy was dispatched to East 422 Road in Jay shortly after 11 p.m. to
assist with a crazy man who was trying to fight emergency
personnel. Dispatchers advised Daniels tried to hurt firefighters with a rake and shot a gun toward them.
Witnesses said Daniels was mad because he saw the red
flashing lights outside his residence and he didn’t want to see them.
Daniels was “aggravated and intoxicated” when he walked over to confront
emergency personnel about the lights.
Daniels’ son convinced his dad to go back home. When he went to check on
him, Daniels said, “If you come through the door, I will shoot you.”
Daniels wasn’t done, though. He then walked outside and shot his gun toward emergency personnel.
Police tried to make contact with Daniels, but they were unsuccessful.
After about 30 minutes of using the PA system to contact Daniels, and after
the man wouldn’t answer calls from his daughter, officers decided to enter the
house to make sure he was OK.
He was, but when officers walked through the side door, he yelled, “I’m not
showing you my hands unless you come through the front door.”
An officer told the man to show himself. Daniels emerged, wearing nothing
but boxers.
The man was eventually arrested after a brief struggle that included a Taser.
The deputy then put Daniels in the patrol car while he finished speaking to
witnesses.
The man’s son told the officer Daniels was a convicted felon and had previous felony drug convictions.
The deputy asked if he could search the house -- the man said yes.
In the residence, the deputy found multiple smoking devices, 2 Co2 pistols,
live .22 ammunition, a shell casing in the hallway, and a loaded .22 long rifle.
Daniels admitted the firearm and drug paraphernalia was his.
Daniels is being charged with discharging firearm into dwelling, possession of firearms after former felony conviction or during probation, carrying
firearm while under the influence and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $10,250, and he is scheduled to appear in court on
October 26, 2015.

Darrell Edward Harris, 48, told police he didn’t steal anything when he was questioned for a burglary on September
24. He basically said he was in the wrong place at the wrong
time.
According to the police report, a Sequoyah County deputy
was dispatched to a house on S. 4620 Road in Sallisaw to
investigate a burglary. The victim said the suspects stole his
wife’s class ring, his mother’s ring, and a few other things.
A witness gave police a description of a vehicle and man
he saw hanging around in the area when the burglary happened.
On September 24, the deputy assisted with a Sallisaw traffic stop. One of the
suspects, Harris, was arrested and transported to jail.
The deputy questioned Harris about the burglary.
Harris told police that he met up with a guy at the casino, and the man asked
him for a ride. He said the man directed him toward a house, and he said he
would be right back. The man then walked to the back of the house and emerged
a while later carrying a briefcase. The men then went to Harris’ sister’s house
where Harris was staying.
Harris said the man put the briefcase on a table, and they started to go through
it. The man had some rings, rolls of change and some pens. Harris said he saw
him put a class ring in his pocket.
After they played at the casino for a bit more, he saw the man walk to a pawn
shop.
Later that day, police searched Harris’s vehicle, and they found some jewelry
that appeared to be from the victim’s home.
Officers also found a money bag that contained some pens the victim identified
as his.
Harris is being charged with burglary in the second degree. He was released on
a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on October 7, 2015.

Have you ever been so mad at your sibling that you just had
to fire your gun into the ground?
That’s what Okay man Joseph Ashley said he did! The
66-year-old man said his brother pissed him off so much during an argument that he grabbed his gun and fired a shot into
the ground.
On September 23, a Wagoner County deputy was dispatched
to the 7100 block of N. 49th Street around 1:45 p.m. According
to the affidavit, Ashley approached police and said his brother
came to his house and started to “irritate, curse and threaten”
him. He said he asked his brother to leave, but the man just kept on.
Things escalated and Ashley said his anger overcame him and he fired a shot into
the ground to make his brother leave. Ashley said he then called 911 and reported
what he did.
The brother said the dispute was over some money Ashely owed him. He said he
did some work at the family’s church on September 2, but Ashley didn’t pay him. The
brother said Ashley kept refusing until their sister got involved -- even then, Ashley
didn’t pay him the full amount. He said when he went to his brother’s house to get his
money, Ashley told him to get off his property.
The man also said Ashley told him he wasn’t going to pay him the rest of the money.
At some point during the altercation, Ashley pointed a gun at his brother. When
the man started talking about their mom, he said Ashley told him not to say one more
word. He then pulled the trigger. The man said he ducked, jumped in his truck and
called 911.
The victim’s wife told the same story. She said she saw and heard Ashley shoot at
her husband.
Ashely was placed under arrest and transported to jail.
Ashley is being charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon. His bond
was set at $5,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on October 28, 2015.

Disney man Tharon Lee Barber, 28, was arrested on September 28 after he allegedly attacked his
girlfriend and another woman while he was highly
intoxicated.
According to the police report, a Craig County
deputy was dispatched to the 900 block of Sexton
Avenue in Ketchum around 2:58 a.m. due to a domestic dispute in progress. Police on scene told the
deputy they found Barber in the front yard of a residence in the 800 block of E. Sexton Avenue.
An officer saw Barber rush the front door while
the people inside tried to barricade it. This wasn’t
Barber’s residence -- the victims were inside hiding
from him.
An officer chased Barber in the residence and had to physically grab the man to
keep him away from the victim.
The deputy made contact with Barber and noticed the man smelled strongly of
alcohol.
When police escorted him out of the residence, he continued to yell at the victim.
The victim said she and Barber had lived together since February. Barber was
passed out in a chair in the living room and at one point, he woke up and started
walking toward the bedroom.
For no reason at all, Barber grabbed the woman and threw her on the couch. He
also slammed her head on the floor.
The deputy saw red marks on the victim’s face from when Barber slammed her
head against the floor.
The other woman with the victim said she tried to break up the fight, but Barber
threw her and kicked her in the leg.
The women were eventually able to get away, and they fled to the neighbor’s
house for safety.
The deputy was unable to get a statement from Barber due to his level of intoxication.
Barber is being charged with burglary in the first degree, resisting an officer,
assault and battery, domestic abuse, and public intoxication. His bond was set at
$54,706.

When an officer found Monett, Missouri woman
Wendy Lee Potts sleeping in a casino with a syringe
in her hair on October 2, she claimed someone put it
there while she was sleeping.
The 30-year-old knew exactly what was in it though
-- blood and meth.
According to the police report, a Bureau of Indian
Affairs officer was dispatched to a Miami casino at
5:35 a.m. because there was a woman sleeping at a
machine with a syringe in her hair.
When the officer arrived, he made contact with
Potts and her odd hair accessory. He asked her to take
it out of her hair. There was a dark liquid substance in
the syringe. When the officer asked her what it was,
she replied, “Blood and meth.”
Despite having a super specific idea of what was in the syringe, she said it wasn’t
hers. Potts claimed someone put in in her hair while she was sleeping.
While checking the woman’s information, the officer was advised Potts had an
outstanding warrant out of Lawrence County, Missouri for probation violation.
The officer placed the woman under arrest for the warrant.
That wasn’t all she’d be going to jail for, though! He searched her person and
found a baggy containing a clear crystallized substance. The substance later fieldtested positive for meth.
Potts is being charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance and
unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $4,000, and she
was scheduled to appear in court on October 6, 2015.

What was supposed to be a fun weekend at Frederick Lake ended with one man dead and his wife behind bars.
McAlester woman Tammy Sue Nunn, 54, allegedly
ran over her husband with their vehicle and set him
on fire on September 19.
Apparently the two had been fighting, and Nunn
had had enough.
Tillman County deputies were dispatched to the
scene of the crime shortly after 4 a.m. A man called
dispatch and said there was a dead body at the lake.
When police arrived, they met with the reporting party, who led them to the body, which was on fire.
An intoxicated Nunn was sitting in a nearby vehicle.
The RP and another man told police that the couple and one of the men left
Eufaula the day before around noon. They arrived in Manitou around 2 a.m. and
picked up another man.
According to the witnesses, Nunn was “extremely verbally abusive” to her husband the entire trip. The couple and two men continued on to Frederick Lake to
fish and party.
Nunn consumed beer and liquor on the trip.
After they arrived at the campsite, the two men started a fire and walked to
some nearby restrooms. They told police they were only gone for about 10 minutes, but apparently that was enough for Nunn to do the deed. When the men
returned, they saw Nunn carrying logs to a fire pit. Nunn’s husband was in one of
the fire pits, but he wasn’t moving.
Nunn threw some logs on top of her husband and when one of the men tried to
stop her, she said, “Let him burn.”
The men told Nunn she needed to call the police. She told them not to worry,
because no one would miss her husband. She also told them he had a “deer in the
headlights look.”
According to the affidavit, evidence at the scene was consistent with the victim
being run over by the couple’s vehicle. There were tire marks on his body that led
straight to the vehicle, and there was blood and flesh on the muffler.
Nunn was arrested and transported to jail, where she is being held without
bond. She is being charged with murder in the first degree, and is scheduled to
appear in court on October 13, 2015.
