A Cache man was taken into custody after an OHP Trooper
pulled over the truck he was riding in and discovered his meth
and paraphernalia stash.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Trooper James Wallace was on patrol on US Highway 62 about 7 miles east of Altus
when he noticed a maroon Chevrolet pickup traveling 80 mph in
a 70 mph zone. He quickly stopped the pickup for the speeding
violation.
Wallace had the driver exit his vehicle and sit in the patrol car.
Wallace explained the reason for the stop and was going to write
him a warning.
While Wallace was writing out the warning, during small talk,
Wallace noticed the driver was a little nervous. He then asked the
driver if he would agree to a search of the pickup, in which he
agreed.
Wallace went to the passenger side of the pickup and had the passenger, Bruce Beeson, 44,
step out and stand in front of the truck. During the search, Wallace found a black zip-up bag
containing four syringes, a spoon, two tourniquets, and a plastic baggie containing a crystallike substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine. Beeson admitted the black bag
was his.
Beeson was placed under arrest and transported to the Jackson County Sheriffs Office and
booked into jail for possession of schedule II CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A Lawton man is sitting in the Grady
County Jail on a $25,000 bond after
he was involved in a rollover crash and
was found to be under the influence of
alcohol.
Duane Oberfoell, 52, was charged
with felony DUI with a BAC of .08 or
more, great bodily injury, July 17 in
Grady County District Court.
According to the probable cause affidavit, OHP Trooper Michael Jewell
was dispatched to a two vehicle accident in Grady County. When he arrived at the scene, he saw a blue Dodge Avenger badly damaged and
blocking both lanes of traffic.
Jewell made contact with Oberfoell, the driver of the Avenger, and
could smell an odor of booze coming from him. He then asked Oberfoell to have a seat in his car while he gathered information from the
other driver and passengers.
A short time later, Jewell went back to Oberfoell and asked him
how much he had to drink. Oberfoell replied he had no more than
two beers. Jewell then administered only a couple of field tests on
Oberfoell because he had just been in a rollover accident.
Trooper Brent Tucker arrived on scene and conducted a PBT test
on Oberfoell after they explained to him that it wasn’t the states
breath test. Oberfoell blew into the PBT and the result showed that
he was under the influence of alcohol. Jewell then placed Oberfoell
under arrest for DUI.
Oberfoell was seated in the patrol car and agreed to take the states
breath test. At the Grady County Jail, Oberfoell tested .11 and .10
BAC. He was then booked for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Answer: “I’m basically
a good person, so I’ll go to
heaven.” “OK, so I do some
bad things, but I do more
good things, so I’ll go to
heaven.” “God won’t send
me to hell just because
I don’t live by the Bible.
Times have changed!” “Only
really bad people like child
molesters and murderers go
to hell.”
These are all common rationalizations, but the truth is that
they are all lies. Satan, the ruler of the world, plants these
thoughts in our heads. He, and anyone who follows his ways,
is an enemy of God (1Peter 5:8). Satan is a deceiver and often
disguises himself as someone good (2 Corinthians 11:14), but
he has control over all the minds that do not belong to God.
It is a lie to believe that God doesn’t care about small sins or
that hell is reserved for “bad people.” All sin separates us from
God, even a “little white lie.” Everyone has sinned, and no one
is good enough to get to heaven on their own (Romans 3:23).
Getting into heaven is not based on whether our good outweighs our bad; we will all lose out if that is the case. “And if
by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would
no longer be grace” (Romans 11:6). We can do nothing good
to earn our way to heaven (Titus 3:5).
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and
broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter
through it” (Matthew 7:13). Even if everyone else is living a
life of sin in a culture where trusting in God is not popular,
God will not excuse it. As sinners, we couldn’t reconcile ourselves to God on our own. So God made a way that we could
be united with Him in heaven. “For God so loved the world
that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in
him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).
Most people believe in God, even Satan does. But to receive
salvation, we must turn to God, form a personal relationship,
turn away from our sins, and follow Him. We must trust in
Jesus with everything we have and everything we do. “This
righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ
to all who believe. There is no difference” (Romans 3:22).
The Bible teaches that there is no other way to salvation than
through Christ. Jesus says in John 14:6, “I am the way, the
truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through
me.”
Jesus is the only way of salvation because He is the only One
who can pay our sin penalty (Romans 6:23). No other religion
teaches the depth or seriousness of sin and its consequences.
No other religion offers the infinite payment of sin that only
Jesus Christ could provide. No other “religious founder” was
God become man (John 1:1,14) – the only way an infinite debt
could be paid. Jesus had to be God so that He could pay our
debt. Jesus had to be man so He could die. Salvation is available only through faith in Jesus Christ! “Salvation is found in
no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to
men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
The Bible says
Question: Is Jesus the
only way to Heaven?

death Row
Michael Hooper
The Oklahoma Court of
Criminal Appeals set Aug.
14 as the execution date for
Canadian County death row
inmate Michael Edward
Hooper, 39.
Hooper was convicted and
sentenced to death for the
murder of his ex-girlfriend,
Cynthia Lynn Jarman, 23,
and her two children, Tonya
Kay Jarman, 5, and Timmy
Glen Jarman, 3, on Dec.
7, 1993. Hooper shot each
victim in the head twice and
buried their bodies in a shallow grave in a secluded fi eld.
The victims had been missing for several days before
being discovered.
The truck that Cynthia had been driving also was
found abandoned and burned. Police records, including
domestic violence reports, show that Hooper and Jarman
had previously been in a physically violent relationship.
The 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld Hooper’s
convictions in 2002, but overturned his death sentences.
Hooper claimed his legal counsel made mistakes during
the second stage of his trial. In a 2004 hearing, Hooper
was once again sentenced to death.
Attorney General Scott Pruitt requested the execution
date on June 4, after the United States Supreme Court
denied the inmate’s fi nal appeal.

By John Borgstedt
The criminally incarcerated … where did they come from?
What led to their downfall? Many counselors have traced this
criminal cycle to decades of abuse in the homes they were raised.
At some point, having unbearable memories of pain, the victims began to self-medicate - turning to alcohol or marijuana -
discovering the temporary relief becoming weaker and weaker,
leading to the use of stronger drugs. A slack in their job performance normally followed, getting them fired.
But a drug user needs money to maintain his/her chemical addictions and lifestyle. The user may resort to robbery or more serious crimes, wanting to stop but can’t. And until he/she reaches
a point of dealing with their past abuse, they will never be able
to quit and find ‘change’. Both counseling and ‘forgiveness’ is a must in starting a new and healthy
cycle for their life.
It was many years before I could reach that point of ‘forgiveness’ regarding my own abusers. Even
when seeking answers, I didn’t fully understand what it would take to find counsel and healing, until
writing my first book, ‘I Love You, Mom … Please Don’t Break My Heart’.
“Seconds later, she opened the door and jerked me out of the car, threw me onto the ground like
a piece of trash, and pulled something from her pocket. Even though I knew something terrible
was happening, I did not move a muscle. She would really get angry if I moved! Without saying one
word, she slid a plastic bag over my head, covering my face. For a split second, my mind went numb.
I gasped for breath as her arm pressed tighter and tighter against the plastic bag covering my nose
and mouth. Suddenly the probability of death overpowered all fear of a beating. For the first time in
my life, panic replaced all dread of violence and pain. Gasping and choking, my fingers clawed at the
bag. My mom grabbed at my hands as she struggled to keep the plastic over my nose and mouth. My
weak, undernourished body was no match against my tall, powerful, and very determined mother.
Fighting for breath within the tomb of plastic, I felt her grip tighten even more against my face.”
There are people who think they have been down the darkest road in life with no possible chance
of change, but I have been down that road, too, and if I could turn it around and not only change my
life, but learn how to help others - becoming one of the country’s foremost child advocates – you can
do it, too.

Break My Heart” He can be reached at [email protected] or visit his website at www.ILoveYouMom.net

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma
Department of Human Services to impact the huge social
problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the
child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts
order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
It’s ALL about the KIDS!
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they have a chance at a
productive life. Children have the right to get support from both parents and do not
lose this right when a parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children, taxpayers often pay the cost
of raising children. When children receive public assistance and their parents pay no
child support, all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

A Cyril man found himself inside a Caddo County Jail cell without his beer after
he fought the law and the law won.
Grover Hillbolt, 51, was charged July
9 with assault and battery upon a police
officer, obstructing an officer, and public intoxication in Caddo County District
Court.
According to the police affidavit, Cyril
Police Officers Buehre and Bryant were
on patrol July 6 just before 11:00 p.m.
when they came upon a man standing on
the side of the road just south of Prichard Drive. Buehre turned the patrol car
around and stopped beside the man. When he got out to check on the
man, he immediately smelled the reek of booze emitting from him.
Hillbolt was very unsteady on his feet and swayed back and forth as
he was talking to the officers. When asked, he refused to take a field
sobriety test and told the officers to just take him (!!) to jail.
“Is that your beer on the ground?” Buehre asked Hillbolt.
“Yep,” Hillbolt replied. “I was drinking it before you guys arrived.”
Buehre placed Hillbolt under arrest for public intox. All was going
smoothly until Hillbolt tensed up when a cuff was placed on his wrist.
He tried to pull away, but Buehre was able to grab his arm and secure
it with the other wrist, but continued to resist by pushing against the
officers. Buehre was forced to hold him on the hood for a few minutes
while he calmed down.
Hillbolt finally calmed down and he was moved to the back seat of
the patrol car. On the way to the jail, he repeatedly called Buehre and
Bryant pieces of s**t and announced he was going to have their jobs.
When they arrived at the Caddo County Jail, Hillbolt regressed
back to his old antics. He became belligerent and increasingly resistant when they tried to take him inside. Once inside, Hillbolt went
bazerk and head-butted Bryant square in the nose.
Hillbolt’s bond was set at $7500.
The law won

INDECENT EXPOSURE
By Lt. Jeff James
Oklahoma Highway Patrol
Summer time can be a time of
fun, whether its at the lake, pool,
or any of the numerous other
activities to be found throughout this great state, but it is also
a time of serious heat. With temperatures reaching into the
100’s many times already, and more to come, I thought I would
touch on the way heat can affect your traveling plans, and some
tips to help you beat the heat!
First, be prepared. Cars suffer in the heat just like we do. If
and when they break down, you’ll want to be ready. Be familiar
with your emergency equipment in your vehicle. This means
learn where your jack, spare tire, and tire tool are. Learn how
to use them. Figuring that out on the side of the road at 102
degrees is no fun at all. The owner’s manual of your vehicle
has a section on roadside emergencies that can help you figure
out where the emergency equipment is stored, and tips on
how to use it. Learn the steps to change a flat! Although we
will be happy to help you if you are broken down, we aren’t
always close, and may not be able to get to you for a long period
of time. If you know how to get yourself out of a roadside
emergency, that’s less time you’ll spend in the heat.
Take lots of water with you if you are going on a trip, especially
if it’s a long one. Have a cell phone with you so you can call
for help if you need it. Be aware of your surroundings when
driving, so you can give the person you call for help an accurate
location for where you are. Also, if you can get your car to a
place of shade, do so. Temperatures can be up to 20 degrees
cooler in a place of shade such as an overpass or large trees.
Lastly, make sure your car is maintained properly. Ever
notice how many pieces of tires you see on the roadway during
the summer? The heat is hard on tires, so make sure they are
properly inflated and have good tread. If your tread is worn,
get them replaced! The pavement those tires are rolling on is
even hotter than the thermometer is showing! Visually check
your belts, and make sure all your fluids are filled up. That
ounce of prevention can keep you from being stuck on the side
of the road in 100 plus temperatures.
Preparing for roadside emergencies in the heat is just as
important as it is in the winter, but it seems like we just don’t
prepare the same for it. Just a few minutes of learning how to
change a flat, packing in a case of water, and being aware of
your surroundings can keep a bad day from being a whole lot
worse! Thanks for reading, buckle up, and be safe!

An Anadarko man is back in jail after Department of Corrections officials
searched his home and found the very
thing that put him in prison in the first
place: illegal drugs.
Kolin Cheadle, 24, was charged with
another drug offense in Caddo County
District Court on July 12.
According to the probable cause affidavit, DOC officers conducted a search
at Cheadle’s home in the 600 block of E.
Washington. During the search, officers
found a baggy containing a white powdery substance in a black leather wallet
inside a blue tub stuffed in a closet in his bedroom. The white powder
field tested positive for meth.
In the same blue tub, officers also found a black Crown Royal bag
with a smaller purple Crown Royal bag inside that contained twelve
.22 caliber bullets.
Cheadle was taken to Caddo County Jail and booked on his newest
charge of possession of CDS/meth after a former felony conviction.

An Oklahoma City mother has been charged with
child abuse after she “whooped” her 3-year-old
daughter for opening the refrigerator after 7 p.m., investigators said. An arrest warrant is expected to be
issued for Nortesha Harmon, 28, of Oklahoma City.
On July 4, Harmon was dropping off her 3-yearold daughter when she told the child’s father that
she had whooped their daughter with an extension
cord for getting a drink after 7 p.m., court documents
revealed. On July 11, investigators interviewed the
child and noticed bruises on her face and body, investigators said.
The child’s father told investigators that he and the child’s mother did not
have a legal custody agreement, but he allowed her, the mother, to see the
child whenever she wanted, according to court document. The child was
treated at Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City.
What you’re saying
about this on...
Tyler A: sounds like the father’s picture
should be up here too for letting someone
like this care for a child.
Melissa A: wat a shame
LeAnna B: wow.. stuff like this breaks
my heart... SHE IS A BABY.....
Wendy O: omg people make me sick...
Vanessa S: sad! poor baby
B.gaylene H: Beat the hell out of the
mother
Traci S: Someone should beat this (woman) in the face with an extension cord.. Over

Stacie R: Stupid (woman)!!! She needs

Paula G: You don’t beat a kid with an extension cord.......not at any age, not for any
reason!
Cheryl H: WHY WASNT SHE WATCHING HER 3 YR OLD ANYWAY!!!!!!!! GIVE
ME AN EXTENSION CORD AND I WILL
PLAY MOMMY DEAREST WITH HER!!!!!
April R: Someone needs to beat this
thing with a few dozen cords all over her
body. She shouldn’t be allowed anything to
drink for 7 days at the least & only then just
a sip then no more for another 7 days etc for
7 years. What the hell is wrong with people
now days. I would never deny anything to
drink to my children. They are allowed water
anytime they want/need but they know that
other drinks like juice & kook aid is off limits
after 8 but if one sneaks & gets some then big
deal I sure the heck am not going to physically punish them for it. Geez
D Ariana H: Its sad how many cases
are out there like this, and how many people
out there who dont deserve children, have
them:( Poor babygirl
Robyn M: How stupid could she be?
Marlene D: Some body should whip her
with an extension cord for being so stupid.
Jonathan N Jessica: Bring the electric
chair back.for.people like her, geez do not.
cut her no slack hate people like this!!!
Patty K: Why is she allowed to have this
child. What does do after 7pm when she is
thirsty. Whipping the child with an extension
cord the mother should whipped with one.
Rosie P: This (woman) looks healthy as
hell. Super glue her lips together but leave
a slit on one side just big enuf for a coffee
straw full of everclear. ( once a day ). Start
at her neck and wrk down with a tazer every
30 mins.
Vincent R: A 3 year old child really a 3
year old don’t know better cuz it a child don’t
mean u gotta beat the sh** out Of em she so
stupit
CharlieandStaci: what could possibly
make this woman so sick to beat her child?
Poor child. My heart cries for the child.
Prayers... Hope justice is served!
Tricia M: maybe they should tell her go
outside for awhile but you cant have water
after 5pm! LOL

A Walters man was taken to jail after his grandmother
called authorities because she was sick of his drunken shenanigans and wanted him gone from her driveway.
Deputies were called to a home in the 800 block of E. Nevada July 23 about the resident’s grandson, Jason Lewis, 33,
passed out in the driveway, according to the probable cause
affidavit. When Deputies David Johnston and Tommy Stranahan arrived, they noticed a man laying under a parked vehicle in the driveway with his legs sticking out from under it.
Grannie told the deputies Lewis had been laying there
about an hour.
Johnston pulled Lewis out from under the car and leaned
him upright against it. They immediately smelled the strong
odor of alcohol coming from him and he had slow, slurred
speech. He was so drunk, he couldn’t even sit upright without help.
Johnston placed Lewis in cuffs and it took him, Deputy Stranahan, and Walters Police Officer Nick Nance to get Lewis to his feet. He was transported to the Cotton County Jail where
he was helped into the jail, helped to the booking area, and then helped to his cell.
Lewis was charged the next day with public intox in Cotton County District Court.

A Temple man was taken into custody after deputies found
him wandering along Ash Street drunk and stumbling.
According to the police affidavit, Deputy Larry Cassell was
traveling east on Texas Street when he noticed a man, later
identified as Clyde Powell, 27, walking unsteadily on Ash Street.
Powell also wandered into the road several times. Cassell activated his emergency lights and Powell stopped walking.
Cassell asked Powell if he had any identification on him and
Powell told him no. He then asked if he had any warrants out for
him and Powell said he did out of Bryan County.
While the deputy was talking to Powell, he could smell the alcohol on his breath and his speech was slurred, his eyes were
bloodshot, and he was very unsteady on his feet. Powell admitted he had about six to eight beers earlier in the evening. Seeing
Powell was buzzed on the booze, Cassell placed him under arrest and put him in the patrol
car. Powell asked Cassell if he someone would stop by his house and drop off his dog and
personal belongings.
Deputy Barker took the dog home.
Powell was transported to the Cotton County Jail and booked on charges of public intoxication.
Bryan County chose not to extradite him.
