An Army instructor at Ft. Sill has been sentenced to serve two years in prison for illegal
possession of Claymore mine.
Dale Howard Bruno, 59,of Altus, was sentenced by United States District Judge David
L. Russell to serve 24 months in federal for illegal possession of a functional Claymore mine,
announced Sanford C. Coats, United States Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma.
According to Court records and proceedings,
Bruno was an Army instructor at Fort Sill and
stole a Claymore mine while working at Fort
Sill. Following a tip that Bruno had a Claymore
mine, law enforcement discovered Bruno to be

mine on October 28, 2011.
A Claymore mine is a military weapon containing approximately1.5 pounds of C4 plastic
explosive and embedded approximately 700 steel ball bearings. It is engineered as a directional antipersonnel weapon to inflict death or serious bodily injury over a large area.

A Lawton man was taken into custody in Chickasha after one
of his passengers tripped out on meth and left him holding the
bag.
Carlos Martinez, 45, was charged with possession of CDS,
and his passengers, twin sisters Amy Everhart, and Cheryl
Everhart, 19, of Anadarko, were charged with public intoxication.
Chickasha police Officer Matthew Schoolfield was on duty
Jan. 20 just after noon when he was dispatched to McDonald’s
on S. 4th Street to a possible kidnapping.
He arrived on scene and saw with Amy Everhart sitting at
one of the tables. Amy was very anxious and could not sit still
in the seat, he wrote in his report. She was also mumbling with
slurred speech, was very hard to understand, and he noticed
her pupils appeared to be larger than normal and her eyes were
very red.
Schoolfield asked Amy what was going on and she replied
that Martinez had been holding her and her sister Cheryl Everhart hostage. They had left in a silver Jeep heading to Mexico,
but she was able to get out at McDonalds by asking to go the
bathroom. Her sister was her twin and Martinez was a lightskinned heavy-set Hispanic male.
About that time, Schoolfield noticed a silver Isuzu Rodeo pull
into the parking lot directly in front of the doors. A woman who
looked like Amy exited the Rodeo and walked into McDonalds.
She approached Amy and Schoolfield and said she was Amy’s
sister, Cheryl Everhart. Schoolfield asked Cheryl if she was ok
and she said she was fine, she was not being abducted, and she
was there with her ride. Cheryl said Amy was high on meth
and did not know what she was talking about. She added they
both caught a ride with Martinez from Lawton to their house
in Anadarko. When they stopped at the McDonalds, Amy got
out, but did not return.
Officer Lauren Mathews arrived on scene and detained the
driver, identified as Martinez. She said when she made contact
with Marinez, he had a clear bag of white powdery substance in
his right hand. When she took the bag from Martinez, he said
he was holding it for Cheryl.
The substance was field tested and tested positive for meth. Martinez kept talking about
how the drugs were not his and he was holding it for Cheryl. Schoolfield told Martinez
that it was in his possession when Officer Mathews made contact with him and the two
women said the drugs were not theirs.
None of the trios’ stories given matched up other than they all had been smoking meth
together.
All three were arrested and taken to the Grady County jail for book in.

The recent shootings across the United States
have caused much heartache. The senseless and
tragic incidents have also renewed the intensity
of discussion regarding American gun laws.
Politicians, sportsmen, and theologians have
all weighed in on the issue of gun control. Guns
are readily available in the U.S., and ownership
is protected by the Constitution. How should a
Christian view gun control? What does the Bible
have to say that would apply to gun control?
The Bible was written long before the invention of any type of gun, so the phrase “gun
control” will not be found in Scripture. However, the Bible records many accounts of wars,
battles, and the use of weapons. Warfare is presented as an inevitable part of living in a fallen
world (Mark 13:7; James 4:1), and weaponry is a necessary part of warfare. Weapons in the
Bible were also used for personal protection. In some parts of Israel, robbers were common
(see Luke 10:30), and many people carried weapons when they traveled. Carrying a weapon
for self-defense is never condemned in the Bible. In fact, it was mentioned in a positive light
by Jesus Himself on one occasion (Luke 22:35-38).
Christians are called to submit to governing authorities, and they are to obey the laws of the
land (Romans 13:1-7; 1 Peter 2:13-17). This would have to apply to gun laws, too. If American
gun laws change, American Christians should submit to these changes and work through
democratic means toward any desired alternatives. The Bible does not forbid the possession
of weapons, and neither does it command such possession. Laws may come and go, but
the goal of the believer in Jesus Christ remains the same: to glorify the Lord (1 Corinthians
10:31).
Another biblical principle to consider is that “all who draw the sword will die by the
sword” (Matthew 26:52). Jesus said this to Peter when Peter tried to mount an imprudent
“defense” of Jesus against the mob that had come to arrest Him. Peter’s actions were not
only futile against such a “large crowd armed with swords and clubs” (verse 47), but his rash
behavior also belied Jesus’ submissive attitude (verse 50) and worked against the fulfillment
of Scripture (verse 54). There is “a time for war and a time for peace” (Ecclesiastes 3:8), and
Peter confused the two.
Christianity supports personal freedom. Romans 14:1-4 indicates that, when Scripture
does not clearly address a particular issue, there is freedom for individual choice. America
has historically embraced the concept of personal freedom that resonates with this principle,
and the founding documents guarantee wide freedoms regarding firearms. Some point to
Matthew 5:9, in which Jesus pronounces a blessing on the peacemakers, and apply it to the
issue of gun control. The idea is that guns are antithetical to peace. This may be more of a
philosophical or political idea than a theological one, however. There is nothing theologically,
or even logically, that links guns to a lack of peace; sometimes, guns help maintain civil peace.
Debates over whether to control guns or how much to control them depend largely on
political and philosophical arguments, not moral ones. This is not to say that there is no
moral component to the issue. Obviously, the gun itself is amoral, an object that can be used
for good or for evil. More important is the morality of the person wielding the gun, and that is
too often the missing consideration in the gun control argument. The fact that some sinners
use guns to commit sin does not mean guns are the problem. Sin is the problem, and that’s
a moral and spiritual issue. Since the very beginning of humanity, people have been killing
other people, with and without weapons (see Genesis 4). Taking a certain weapon out of
circulation might make murder more difficult but by no means impossible.
As far as the Bible is concerned, the use of guns is a matter of personal conviction. There is
nothing unspiritual about owning a gun or knowing how to use one. There is nothing wrong
with protecting oneself or loved ones, even if it involves the use of weapons. We need not
pretend there is never a need for guns, but pointing a gun at a person should always be a last
resort. We should seek to neutralize threats without violence whenever possible.
So, how should a Christian view gun control? With the authority God has entrusted to it,
the government has the right to allow or disallow gun ownership to whatever degree it deems
right. We, as citizens, are called to submit to whatever gun control laws the government
institutes. This is not, however, a statement on the wisdom of gun control. There are good
reasons to allow law-abiding citizens to own guns. Ultimately, guns are not the problem.
Sinful people are the problem.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma
Department of Human Services to impact the huge social
problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the
child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts
order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
It’s ALL about the KIDS!
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they have a chance at a
productive life. Children have the right to get support from both parents and do not
lose this right when a parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children, taxpayers often pay the cost
of raising children. When children receive public assistance and their parents pay no
child support, all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

An Anadarko man who has a serious
problem with police officers will more
than likely spend a little more time in jail
after he took a bite out of an officer’s forehead.
Buck Slimp, 26, was doing time in the
Caddo County Jail on another charge
when he was slapped with an additional
felony charge of assault and battery upon
a police officer.
Detention Officer Charles Pendarvis
wrote in his probable cause affidavit that
on Jan. 5 he was feeding the prisoners
their breakfast and doing a jail check when one of the female prisoners asked him if she could make a phone call. As he was walking her
down the hall, somebody’s breakfast eggs came flying out of the bean
hole (food pass) of the general population cell. As they walked past
the cell, a prisoner, Slimp, threw his Kool-aid in Pendarvis’ face.
Pendarvis continued on with the female prisoner, got her situated,
and returned to the cell where Slimp was. When he asked Slimp why
he threw his eggs on the floor and Kool-aid in his face, Slimp said he
believed Pendarvis was going to take the eggs and (beep) him up the
(beep).
Seeing Slimp was becoming out of control, Pendarvis tried to grab
him, but Slimp resisted and he slipped on the Kool-aid and fell.
“Buck landed on top of me,” Pendarvis said, “and began to growl
and bite me on the forehead.”
After several more bites, another inmate grabbed Slimp by the arm
and he stood up. Pendarvis got up and went for his baton, so Slimp
immediately went to the ground and put his hands behind his back.
The officer was able to cuff him and he was put in restraints.
Slimp pled guilty to two felony charges in 2011 of assault and
battery and an assault and battery on a police officer. He also was
charged in 2010 in Cotton County with outraging public decency and
public intox in Grady County.

A Carnegie teen was taken into custody
and charged with second-degree burglary
after the owner of the old furniture factory
in Carnegie cleverly put up a camera and
caught him and two others on camera.
According to the police affidavit, a
17-year-old juvenile, Jared Hernasy, 19,
and another male were caught on the camera Jan. 19 after the barn’s owner got sick
and tired of his property getting broken in
to and put up the cameras. Carnegie Police
Officer Wade Turney recognized two of the
boys immediately.
Turney spoke with the juvenile and his father and boy said he admitted to being in the barn. He said he didn’t take anything, but that
Hernasy took a piggy bank with coins in it. He was then released
into the custody of his father.
When Turney interviewed Hernasy later that day, he admitted to
being in the barn, but said he went along with the the juvenile and
the third suspect to help them “get some things for their boss.” He
asked if he could have the piggy bank and then carried it out.
Hernasy was placed under arrest and was later transported to the
Caddo County Jail on a complaint of second-degree burglary.
This little piggy went to jail

Natasha V: What a dumb*** hahahahaha
Christy C: Scum
Roger S: obviously that guy needs help ....probably

don’t say that often
Ashley W: Wow that’s really low.
Suzi P: Loser:.....go get a freaking job!
Paul D: he will get all the help he DESERVES in jail
roger, he deserves a kick in the head
Julia R: All i can say is what a jerk!!
Matt S: At least he wasnt stealing from an okc citizen.
Dont lock him up. Prisons are over crowded w petty
charges on ppl like this fine him. Send him on his way.
Matt s for okc mayor
Corey W: they still have all that hanging on the
fence..to me its morbid in a way..but it was low to
disrespect the dead like that..guy was prob out of his
mind from hunger and drugs..
Lisa W: Being homeless does not justify stealing
from the memorial. those ppl and their families have
suffered enough without some idiot stealing their
memorials!!
Bethany H: Some people have no respect. A 39
year old man should know better than all that.
Rich L: Homelessness is no excuse.
Kelli E: What a disrespectful PIG!
Kristi C: I don’t see anywhere that says he’s
homeless...all I see is that he is from Spencer.
Sergio C: his actions were disrepecful and his
attitude very disturbing and his behivor nasty and
perverted..........
Lm L: Look at all of these people making excuses for
him!! Disgraceful!!
Cande J: Do people not know what respect is
anymore! Thats a sorry excuse for an Oklahoman if u
ask me! I think they should throw everything and the
book at him for being so rude ans disrespectful! And
shame on the people for giving him excuses! And u
wonder why our country is the way it is!
Glenna W: He is responsible for this action he
performed. No one else. He is a grown ass man. Just
one of many without any respect for anyone. And that
spitting is as gross as it gets. I’ve had enough if these low
life’s
Kelly B: I think the law should be if u kill someone in
cold blood should die! And if u steel cut off your arm!!
Corey W: should have been punched in the mouth
for spitting that is a very hateful thing to do to someone..
Roger S: no ones making excuses ....didn’t know we
were in the presence of so many perfect people
Rick J: @ Corey he had a hamburger but I agree
possibly drugs but definitely a thief
Jessica W: He doesn’t need assistance Roger
he needs to get a job!!!!!! He’s 39!!!!! And he needs to
learn respect! That’s probably why he is roaming streets
stealing and spitting on people bc he was never taught
respect, discipline, and how to work for what he needs
and wants!!!!! Geez!!!!!!!
Jessica W: And he was stealing from a federal
memorial...Obvious isn’t physically harming anyone
but i can only imagine what else this doofus will do!
Uh... no Matt we don’t need you for okc mayor LOL!
Corey W: ya u are right..he did manage to hussle up
a burger he should have sit down somewhere and ate
it...maby he would have simply passed out then..ha
Robert S: Throw the book at this *&%$. Worthless
people irritate me. This is one of them.
Jamie B: How disrespectful and sad. 🙁
A Spencer man was arrested for taking items from
the OKC Bombing Memorial fence and spitting on
a visitor to the memorial, according to police.
A witness told police he spotted Dominique
Polk, 39, taking necklaces and other items from
the fence at the memorial. The fence outside the
memorial on Harvey Street has become a place
where people leave mementos to remember those
lost in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.
The witness said after he spotted Polk taking the
items, he attempted to stall Polk until federal
security guards could arrive. That’s when the
man said Polk spit in his face, then walked a short
distance away and unwrapped a cheeseburger,
leaving the wrapper on the bombing grounds.
Federal security guards then called OKC police and Polk was arrested on
suspicion of assault and battery, larceny and littering.

A car parked in the middle of the
road landed a Walters woman in the
county jail on felony charges Jan. 7.
Around 2:40 p.m. that day, officer
Tommy Stranahan was driving north
on 3rd Street when he saw a blue Pontiac car and a gold Dodge Durango
sitting in the roadway at a nearby intersection. Stranahan initiated a stop
behind the Pontiac for improperly
stopping in the road and confronted
Gerral Gwoompi, 41. Gwoompi said
he stopped because he was talking to
his sister in the roadway, but Gwoompi had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Stranahan then questioned Rebecca Patman, 33, who was
Gwoompi’s passenger, about the situation. She identified herself
as Tammy Patman, with the same date of birth, Stranahan said.
A Cotton County sheriff’s deputy walked by with a K-9 dog and
realized there were drugs in the car, so Gwoompi was arrested on
the city warrant and Patman had to step out of the car.
Patman had a billfold in her pocket that belonged to her sister,
she said. However, her ID was inside, revealing her true identity
and resulting in her arrest.
When Patman was booked at county, a jailer found a used needle while changing her out, according to the affidavit. She faces
charges of false personation, possession of methamphetamine
and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Patman has a pending case in Comanche County, where she
is charged with defrauding an innkeeper. Her arrest in the drug
case answered a nearly yearlong warrant for the earlier one, court
records show.
Patman posted bond Jan. 23. She has a court date set for 10
a.m. March 6.
ID’s don’t lie
