A Frederick man admitted to selling drugs after he was arrested
for weed and a gun on March 9.
During booking, 18-year-old Wesley Leon Garza told police, “Yeah,
I sell weed.”
According to the affidavit, a Frederick officer saw Garza walking
southbound on North 13th Street shortly after 5 p.m. When the man
saw the officer, he put his hands in his pocket and started walking to
opposite direction.
The officer asked dispatch to check the man for warrants and was
advised the man had a possible warrant for his arrest.
The officer made contact with the man. Garza told the officer he
had a gun in his pocket. The officer took possession of the firearm
and placed the man under arrest.
Dispatch advised the officer that it was a different Garza who had a warrant for his arrest.
The officer searched Garza’s person, and he found a bottle containing six baggies that were
filled with a green leafy substance that appeared to be marijuana. The officer also found five
rounds of ammunition and $30 in cash.
During booking, a jailer asked the officer what Garza was being charged for. The officer told
him for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Garza added, “Yeah, I sell weed.”
Garza is being charged with unlawful possession of controlled drug with intent to distribute and possess firearm during commission of a felony. His bond was set at $30,000, and he
is scheduled to appear in court on April 25, 2016.

When officers told Hobart man Steven Lavel Stevenson, 56,
that he was under arrest for a warrant, he did his best not to go
to jail.
His best wasn’t good enough.
On March 27, a Hobart officer was dispatched to Third and
Hitchcock shortly after noon for a possible physical fight. He
saw Stevenson walking away from a larger group of people, so
he asked the man what was going on.
Stevenson said he was walking to his house when a group of
people started yelling at him about a problem he had with his
girlfriend.
Another man told the officer he confronted Stevenson, because he hit his cousin. He said he told Stevenson to stay away
from his cousin and keep his hands off of her.
The officer gave Stevenson a warning to stay away from his girlfriend’s house.
While the officer was speaking to Stevenson, dispatch advised that the man had a warrant
out of Osage County. When he told the man he was under arrest. Stevenson started walking
away and said, “I am not going back to jail.”
The officer called for backup, and Stevenson said, “OK, I will go.” He then pulled a phone
out of his pocket and told the officer he was going to call his sister. The officer told the man
he could call his sister from jail.
Stevenson put his hands in his pockets and refused to move them when the officer told him
to. He then told the officer he was going home and he was not going back to jail. He took off
running, and the officer told him to stop or he would taze him.
Stevenson replied, “Do what you have to do. I’m not going back to jail.”
The officer tazed the man, but Stevenson just removed the prongs and kept on running.
Officers later found the man in an empty field on Park Road just off of 9th Street. He was
placed under arrest and transported to jail.
Stevenson is being charged with escape from arrest or detention and obstructing officer.
His bond was set at $300, and he is scheduled to appear in court on April 22, 2016.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

A few weeks ago, a Roselle, Illinois, police officer saw a car driving southbound on
Roselle Road with a 15-foot tree embedded
in the front grill of the car. After stopping
the driver, he also noticed the airbags had
been deployed (apparently from hitting the
tree). After an investigation, the Roselle officer arrested the driver for Driving Under
the Influence of Alcohol.
Yet another reason why you should not

Bridgeport man Jeffrey Dee Wilson, 40, allegedly attacked a man with a chainsaw tool during
an altercation on March 17. He told police the victim shouldn’t have come at him.
According to the affidavit, a Caddo County deputy was dispatched to a residence on Old 66 Road in
Bridgeport at approximately 6:40 p.m. The victim
told him he was driving down Main Street when
he approached Wilson. Wilson forced him off the
road, so the man flipped him off.
Both men stopped their vehicles.
Wilson approached the victim. The victim said
he told the man, “You’re a piece of s—.” Wilson
then hit the man with an object. The victim said it was a T-tool for chainsaws.
A woman who was with the victim at the time of the incident told the victim
the same story. She said Wilson called her a “little bitch” and threatened to hit
her too.
The deputy went to the 500 block of West Oklahoma looking for the suspect. While he was knocking on the door of a residence, Wilson pulled up. He
jumped out of his vehicle, and the deputy saw a T-tool wrench on his center
console. He asked the man what happened.
Wilson said the victim always had a problem with him. Earlier that day, he
said the victim was going 90 mph on a gravel road. Both men stopped their
vehicle, and Wilson said he hit the victim with the chainsaw tool.
Wilson told the deputy the victim shouldn’t have come at him.
The deputy placed the man under arrest.
On the way to jail, Wilson asked him if he would go by the scene of the incident. The deputy did, but the skid marks in the gravel matched the victim’s
account of the story, not Wilson’s.
At the scene, the deputy also found a puddle of blood and a tooth.
At the jail, Wilson wrote a statement and claimed the victim threatened to
shoot him with a gun.
Wilson didn’t tell the deputy about any weapons or that the victim threatened to kill him when the deputy first spoke to him.
Wilson is being charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
He was released on a $20,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on
April 14, 2016.
No sweet tooth here

Homeless man rewarded with $100,000
for information on fugitives
aroung the nation
ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. – It was customary for
Matthew Hay-Chapman to go to McDonald’s each
day. He lived in a San Francisco park near the fastfood restaurant and would go to get coffee in the
morning.
In January while on his routine walk to get his cup
of Joe, he saw a white van in the nearby Whole Foods
parking lot. It was odd. People appeared to be sleeping inside.
One man got out of the van, and Hay-Chapman recognized him from the newspapers he salvaged from
the garbage cans. It was one of three escaped convicts
from Santa Ana. The whole state was looking for them.
“That’s the dude. That’s got to be the guy,” Hay-Chapman recalled to CNN affiliate KGO
a week after the capture.
Police soon caught Hossein Nayeri after a chase and found Jonathan Tieu still inside the
van.
Questions followed. Would Hay-Chapman, a homeless man, get reward money after
happening on the van?
On Tuesday, the Orange County Board of Supervisors voted to give him $100,000.
Hay-Chapman told KGO in February that if he got the money, he wanted to start a new
life and help his grown children who have also had struggles. Hay-Chapman, 55, told the
San Francisco station that he has chronic back pain and cannot work.
Nayeri and Tieu, along with Bac Tien Duong, escaped from the maximum-security Orange County men’s jail in Santa Ana. They were caught after nine days on the lam, which
included shopping at Target, going to a hair salon to change their looks, taking a taxi driver
hostage and getting in a physical fight over whether to kill the cabbie.
Duong, who split with the other two escapees, was caught in Santa Ana after calling police to come pick him up.
Authorities had offered a $150,000 reward for information leading to the fugitives’ capture.
Three other people were awarded shares of the other $50,000. The cab driver received
no money.

Walters woman Michelle Leann Goodeagle, 47, tried to hide some drugs in a
cop car after she was arrested for a suspended license on March 12.
The officer didn’t buy it.
According to the police report, a Walters officer was leaving the Comanche
Star Casino when he saw Goodeagle
pull into the business. He checked her
driver’s license status and was advised
the woman had a suspended license.
He saw Goodeagle leave the casino and
turn south on Indian Road, so he turned on his red and blue lights in
an attempt to stop the woman.
Goodeagle continued driving and eventually stopped when she
pulled into her residence. She told the officer she knew her license
was suspended, and she didn’t stop because she didn’t want her car
to be impounded. She asked that her property be left in the car, and
the vehicle released to the owner.
The officer placed her under arrest and transported her to jail.
When she stepped out of the patrol car, he noticed a small pink bag
containing a crystal-like substance in the seat where Goodeagle had
been sitting. Of course, she told the officer it wasn’t hers.
Unfortunately for her, the officer knew there was nothing in the
seat before she sat down.
The substance field-tested positive for meth.
Goodeagle is being charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with license suspended. Her bond was set at $5,000, and she is
scheduled to appear in court on April 7, 2016.

Altus man Curtis Ray Ainsworth, 49, was arrested on
March 18 after he allegedly threatened to take a gun to the
hospital and shoot people.
Of course, he told police he was only joking.
According to the affidavit, an Altus officer was dispatched
to the hospital in the 1200 block of East Pecan at approximately 5:43 p.m. A woman had called dispatch and reported
that there was someone in the building who was threatening
to bring a gun to the hospital and shoot people. She told the
officer Ainsworth went to the cafeteria shortly after 5 p.m.
to get his meal. While he was paying for his food, he told the
woman about an argument he had with some coworkers. He
allegedly told her, “They wanna talk s---, but they won’t think
it’s funny after I go home, get my pistol and come back shooting.”
Ainsworth then told the woman to leave work at that moment, because he didn’t want her to see what was going to happen or get hurt. He also told
the woman not to tell anyone why she was leaving.
The officer placed the man under arrest.
He admitted that he told the woman he was going to bring a gun to the hospital, but he
claimed he was only joking.
Ainsworth is being charged with plan/conspire/endeavor to perform act of violence. His
bond was set at $25,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on April 29, 2016.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money or
favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting
offi cer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

Horrific Crimes that
Changed America
Kitty Genovese and 9-1-1
One of these crimes occurred exactly 52 years ago on
March 13, 1964. A young woman, Kitty Genovese, was
stalked, stabbed, raped, and murdered. It is speculated
that many of her neighbors heard and/or saw the gruesome crime but neglected to help. Part of the problem
was that at the time of her murder, concerned citizens
had to dial “O” for operator or the local police station
number (there were five different numbers for each of
the five New York City boroughs) and their call would
then be relayed to a communications bureau and then
passed on to the precinct. Only then could a police officer be dispatched to the scene of the crime. This obviously time-consuming process caused severe delays in
response times (some even believe that some of Kitty’s neighbors did call the police during her attack but their calls were either lost or delayed by the insufficient
police communications system of the 1960s).
A few years later in 1967, the President's Commission on Law Enforcement and
Administration of Justice recommended the development of an emergency reporting system that would utilize a single universal number nationwide. On February 16, 1968, the first 9-1-1 call was made in the United States in Haleyville,
Alabama and by 1987, the majority of the American population had access to 9-1-1
emergency service numbers. Today, anyone in the U.S. can easily contact the police with one simple phone call.
