In the past several weeks, the Lawton Police Department has received numerous reports of Armed Robberies that have been completed or attempted, as well as a couple shootings, with descriptions
of the vehicle and suspects being close in nature. The common denominator in these cases are a blue 4-door vehicle with suspects
wearing a bandana over their faces. There have also been two or
three persons in the vehicle.
The Lawton Police Department is asking for your help in identifying and locating these suspects or the vehicle. If you have any information please contact Crime Stoppers at 580-355-4636 or contact

A part-time postal worker and
EMT found herself in a lot of trouble after she sold an informant prescription drugs over the course of
several days. On one of those days,
she used her minor daughter to deliver the drugs to the informant.
Tami Stewart, 39, of Frederick,
was charged July 11 with three felony counts of possession of a schedule two CDS, and one felony count
of possession of a schedule 3 drug,
in Tillman County District Court.
According to the affidavit, an informant for the Tillman County Sheriff’s Department and OBN
was wired with a recording device and given cash to meet with
Stewart on three occasions in January of 2014. All exchanges of
drugs and money were done just 100 feet from Frederick Memorial Park.
On January 28, the informant met at the park for the exchange,
but Stewart sent her 16-year-old daughter to do her dirty work
for her. There, the informant and the minor exchanged cash and
Oxycodone.
The next day, the informant, while wired, met Stewart at the
park again and they exchanged cash for Loritabs. The day after that, the informant bought more Oxycodone from Stewart,
again at the park.
On July 11, an arrest warrant was issued for Stewart and she
was taken into custody on July 14. Bond was set at $150,000
and she was ordered back to court August 6 for her preliminary
hearing conference.

It’s hard to believe that this is
the 37th installment of Tips From
a Trooper! The 4th of July holiday always makes me thankful for
our service men and women, who fight for the freedoms we enjoy
in the greatest country on Earth!. On that note, I thought I would
just give some thoughts about the people who are out there serving
the public.
First of all, please thank a veteran. If you see one, just go up,
shake their hand, and thank them for their service. Regardless of
politics, those men and women did and still do sacrifice a lot for
their country, and each and every one of us. They didn’t ask to be
sent to war, they didn’t get to pick or chose which war they were
sent to fight in, but they did their duty. They deserve our respect.
Next, lets move on to the men and women who are serving the
public on a daily basis. Emergency first responders are by and
large some of the finest men and women there are. None of us
got into our professions to get rich, we are here because it was a
calling. That calling may have been law enforcement, firefighter,
EMT, Paramedic, dispatcher, or any of the numerous medical
fields. All of these people are driven by the need to serve, to help,
to do their part in making the world a better place. In exchange
for the privilege to serve, we are rewarded with long days, call
outs in the middle of the night, a ton of interrupted meals, and
the real possibility of missing some of our family’s very important
events. This is not a gripe, this is reality for us. To be quite honest,
we wouldn’t have it any other way!
We also get lumped in with the bad apples when one of our
profession makes the media in a bad way. Please remember that the
media only runs the sensational news. “Trooper Changes Flat Tire
for Elderly Couple” or “Fire Department holds free Child Restraint
Inspections” are not ever going to make it into the news, although
it happens every day. I make no excuses for the men and women in
our profession who do make the news in a bad way, they made their
choices, and there are some bad apples in every profession. Please
remember that, and know that the 99% of us that are doing the
right thing every day, are just as upset about those headlines as you
are, and don’t want or deserve to be lumped in with them.
For my part, I would like to thank each and every one of the men
and women who I work with on crash scenes, DUI arrests, agency
assists, and all the other calls we go on every day. It is my privilege
to not only get to serve the public, but to work with each and every
one of you! Thanks for reading, buckle up, and be safe!

July 16 was not a good day for the Lone Wolf Pruitts.
According to a police report, a Kiowa County deputy arrested
Randall Keith Pruitt, 35, and Destiney Marie Pruitt, 34, after he
found drugs in their vehicle during a traffic stop.
The deputy saw the Pruitts’ vehicle around 10:40 p.m. on
Broadway and Ash in Hobart. The vehicle didn’t have working tag
lights, and the driver’s side headlight was out.
The deputy pulled over the vehicle and made contact with the
driver, Randall Pruitt. After getting his information, the deputy
discovered that Randall had a warrant for his arrest out of Beckham County. The deputy placed him under arrest; the man gave
police consent to search his vehicle.
Deputies asked Destiney Pruitt to exit the vehicle, and they began their search.
They found a small metal box that contained a knife, change,
and small plastic baggies containing a clear crystal residue. A
deputy then placed Destiney Pruitt under arrest and informed
the couple they were being arrested for possession of a controlled
dangerous substance. The white residue field-tested positive for
methamphetamine.
Once at the jail, Destiney Pruitt kept asking police why she had
been pulled over, and told them multiple times that she had been
set up by her husband. She kept scratching herself and exhibiting
behavior consistent with drug use.
During booking, Randall Pruitt uttered that his wife was not responsible for the drugs in
the truck.
Both Pruitts refused to take a urine test.
Randall Pruitt is being charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance. His
bond was set at $25,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court on August 1, 2014.
Destiney Pruitt is being charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance. She
was released on a $3,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on September 4, 2014.

John 10:10: “The thief cometh not, but
for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I
am come that they might have light, and
that they might have it more abundantly.”
The thief Jesus is referring to in this
scripture is Satan himself. The Lord
contrasts the work of the devil as stealing,
killing, and destroying, while the work
of the Lord is to bring abundant life to
His people. Notice that the thief doesn’t
stop at one sin of stealing, but rather
progresses on to kill and destroy.
Many people do not realize that what
they think as just taking seemingly little things can lead to taking bigger
things and ultimately one becomes a thief. The “little fox” of stealing
towels from the motel, shoplifting small items, keeping things that do not
belong to them, can lead to a dangerous pattern which could eventually
lead to one being imprisoned for theft.
Shoplifting alone costs our businesses enormous amounts of money
which causes to have to pay higher prices for goods. When a nation stoops
to thievery in any form, it hurts all the people.
in recent news articles, we have seen how thievery on the national level
has jeopardized the safety of our whole country because of people stealing
our national secrets and selling them to our potential enemies. We pray
for this element of sin in our society to be removed.
We, as Christians, know this can only happen through the Lord changing
men’s hearts and giving them power over sin in their lives. We pray for
revival in our nation so that honor and honesty will prevail in our national
life.
We must also check our own lives to see if we are failing God by yielding
to stealing and cheating.

Dill City woman Molly Ruth Six, 37, was taken to jail after
she admitted to hitting some guys with a rifle.
According to the affidavit, a Hinton police officer received a
call on July 11 from a convenience store manager. The manager told the officer that there was a fight in progress at his store
in the 4400 block of N. Broadway. He added that a woman
involved in the fight had a rifle; she wasn’t pointing the rifle,
but was hitting a male with it.
When the officer arrived, the manager pointed out the female subject, identified as Six. At first, she denied having a
rifle, but admitted that she had stuck it under the back seat on
her vehicle. She had been with a male subject and she told the
officer it was her son, and she had told him to run.
The officer found the rifle and asked Six what happened. She
told him some guys were talking about her son and she became upset and started yelling at them. She said the men then jumped out of their truck and
started fighting with her son. Six said she then grabbed her rifle and started hitting the men
with them.
The officer asked Six if he could search her truck. She said yes.
In Six’s wallet, the officer found a small bag containing a white crystal-like substance and
a piece of straw. There were also multiple bullets in the wallet. In another bag that belonged
to Six, the officer found pieces of tin foil with what appeared to be residue from drug use.
The officer also found a man’s wallet, and when the officer asked her to whom the wallet belonged, she said she didn’t know him.
He showed one of the victims the ID found in the wallet. The victim said he wasn’t sure if
that was the man that had been with Six, but he said she had been holding hands with the
man and it didn’t appear to be her son.
The officer transported Six to jail. The residue found in Six’s vehicle tested positive for
methamphetamine.
Six is being charged with possession of firearm during commission of a felony, possession
of a controlled dangerous substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She is
being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on August 25, 2014. FREE TICKET OUT OF JAIL T-SHIRT

Tulsa Police say serial rape suspect Desmond
Campbell is dead
Campbell had been in intensive care since being
badly hurt in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 44
early on the morning of Sunday, June 29, 2014.
The Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office had
called a news conference about the case for 2 p.m.
July 8, but that was before news of Campbell’s death
broke.
Documents released detailed the evidence Tulsa
Police had against Campbell.
The documents also contained details of the attacks which the victims gave police.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that Campbell wrecked a car just
before 6 a.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2014. Troopers said he hit a large sign
post near Sheridan and listed the possible cause as sleepiness. The wreck
happened just minutes after the last sexual assault police have attributed to
Campbell.

A Weatherford man allegedly stole a police car on July
20 — he claimed he didn’t know it was a cop car, although it
was clearly marked with “Walters Police” on the side.
Nice try, Cole Gordon Peteet.
According to the affidavit, a Cotton County deputy was
on patrol around 6:05 p.m. on Elevator Road when he saw
a Walters Police vehicle approaching him without its lights
on.
The police car nearly hit the deputy head on before turning its lights on. There were several vehicles in front of and
behind the police vehicle with their lights on.
Thinking that was strange, the deputy radioed the car’s
officer and asked if he was trying to sneak up on someone.
The officer informed him that someone had stolen his patrol car.
The deputy pulled over the vehicle and made contact with
21-year-old Peteet.
The deputy placed him in handcuffs and searched him for weapons. He found an apparatus for smoking marijuana with a green leafy substance. The substance tested positive for
marijuana.
Peteet said he didn’t realize he was in a police car, and his grandmother had given him
keys to go pick up his mother and father. He said he heard police talking on the radio about
the stolen vehicle, but he didn’t think it was about him.
Right, because all vehicles come equipped with a police radio.
Peteet smelled like alcohol and his speech was slurred. He performed poorly on standard
field sobriety tests, and a preliminary breath test revealed that his blood alcohol level was
0.22.
Throughout the arrest process, Peteet maintained that he had no clue that he was driving a
police vehicle. Police didn’t believe him, and he was booked into the Cotton County Sheriff’s
Office.
Peteet is being charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, aggravated driving a motor
vehicle while under the influence, possession of controlled dangerous substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to
appear in court on August 28, 2014.

Domestic Abuse Petit larceny resist officer Domestic Abuse
The Altus Police Department requested the OSBI to investigate a
police-involved shooting that took place just after midnight on July
14.
The department received a call about a gunshot fired in the 500
block of E. Elm. A witness to the incident flagged down a nearby
officer and pointed out the man who allegedly fired the shot. The officer confronted the man standing in a yard at the southeast corner
of Elm and Hightower. The suspect reportedly pulled a gun from his
waistband. The officer pulled his duty weapon and fired. A back-up
officer who was already on scene also fired at the suspect.
Bruce Puente, 22, was struck by a bullet at least one time. The
Altus resident was flown to an Oklahoma City hospital for treatment.
The OSBI has not released the officers’ names, as they are the subjects of the investigation. Agents will compile a comprehensive report of the incident and deliver a copy to the
district attorney.
The district attorney will determine if the shooting was justified.
Puente was charged July 18 with feloniously pointing a firearm. Bond was set at $100,000
and his preliminary hearing conference is scheduled for September 5 at 9:45 a.m.

A concerned citizen of Six Mile, South Carolina, contacted police after spotting Tracy Nadine Ellenburg erratically drunk-riding a stolen stallion down the middle of Main Street (the
citizen’s ability to distinguish between drunken and sober horseback riding should have been
immediately commended). Ellenburg had parked her horse before police arrived, but the
officer on scene was able to locate it anyway, because it was the only horse tied to a bench
outside a convenience store. The officer confronted Ellenburg, who stank of alcohol, swayed
and slurred her defiant insistence that she was sober, which you may recognize as a level
of drunkenness so spectacular that people mimic it when they are pretending to be drunk.
Regardless, not only did Ellenburg deny any wrongdoing, she actually blamed the horse,
which, if you remember from before, was stolen. She declared that the horse was drunk, not
her, and therefore the horse was at fault for the erratic riding. The police, not appreciating
having witnessed one of the seven wonders of the drunken excuse world, cited Ellenburg for
disorderly conduct.
A woman in St. Paul, Minnesota, was tucking her children into bed when she heard a noise
somewhere in her house. Going downstairs to investigate, she spotted a man and a woman
running full-tilt out the back door. The woman chased after the intruders and found them
loading bags of her stuff onto their bicycles. They were thwarted hilariously when a neighbor
blocked them in with his car and called the police. The thieves, Charles and Pernella Bull,
had attempted to make off with a laptop, a desktop computer, a toolbox, the woman’s purse
and a few other odds and ends. On their bicycles. We cannot stress this enough. When questioned, Mrs. Bull said that a friend had told her that the address was listed as a “free house”
on Craigslist, which meant that the owners were moving out in a hurry, so anyone was free
to just show up and take whatever they wanted. Mrs. Bull said she had called out to ask if
anyone was there when she walked into the house (you know, the house with all the lights
on and a purse sitting on the counter), but when no one answered, she figured it was vacant
and starting loading up the bicycles. The police weren’t able to find the alleged “free house”
listing on Craigslist, most likely because at no point in the course of human history had it ever
existed, so the Bulls were arrested.
