Two Comanche County men were taken into custody in Stephens County on
July 18 after they used a possibly stolen
credit card to make purchases at a Duncan building supply store. When officers
pulled them over to investigate the accusation, they found drugs and paraphernalia inside their truck.
Michael Cowden, 31, of Fletcher, and
Joey Cabrera, 29, of Lawton, were both
charged with possession of CDS. Cowden
was also charged with DUS.
According to the police affidavit, an employee at Duncan Builders Supply called
Duncan police about merchandise purchased in the store using a possible stolen
or bogus credit card. The employee said
that the day before, two men came into
the store and had used the card to obtain
around $1000 worth of merchandise. The
pair was back in the store that day trying
to do the same thing.
As police were arriving at the store,
the suspects were leaving. The employee
waved the officers to the truck, and the officers pulled the truck over.
Police questioned Cowden, who said his boss in Lawton had given
him the credit card to purchase the items. Police could not verify his
story at that time, but he was placed under arrest for driving on a
suspended license.
One of the officers noticed that Cabrera had “bug eyes” and was
very pale. He also noticed his mouth appeared to be very dry.
During a search of the truck, officers found marijuana and several
pipes that field tested positive for meth.
Both men were taken to the Stephens County jail and booked. Neither subject has been charged currently with any crime relating to
the possible stolen credit card.

no PayoFFs allowed
We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money or
favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting
offi cer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

Hobart man Gregory Joe Davis, 58, was caught
with some illegal items when he was snooping around
where he shouldn’t have been.
On July 15, a Kiowa County deputy was contacted by
a man at approximately 7:45 p.m. who told him there
was a suspicious vehicle on his property. When police
located the vehicle, it was unoccupied.
Police ran the tag, and it was registered to Davis.
The deputy used his PA system and told anyone in
the area to identify themselves. No one did, so he started an inventory of the truck prior to it being towed. He found a pill bottle
filled with marijuana and a wallet containing a driver’s license belonging to
Davis.
While officers were looking at the items, they noticed a man walking to the
east of them. The deputy yelled at him to come over to them -- police were
able to identify him as Davis because he matched the picture on the driver’s
license they found in the truck.
The deputy asked Davis what he was doing out there. Davis said he was
down near the creek looking at an old mower. The deputy then asked if he
knew whose property was on. Davis said no.
The man took police down to where the mower was. He kept saying he was
going to have another man come help him later.
When they arrived at the creek, Davis climbed on top of the mower and
told police he thought the rear end was still good.
A deputy reminded Davis that this wasn’t his property, and it would be
stealing if he took anything. He had to tell the man at least three times to get
off the mower before he finally did.
When the deputy asked Davis about the marijuana found in his truck, the
man said he hadn’t smoked marijuana in 3 years.
He then started to apologize over and over again.
Davis was placed under arrest and officers finished inventorying his truck.
In addition to the marijuana, they located two meth pipes with residue.
Davis is being charged with two counts of possession of controlled dangerous substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was
released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on August
5, 2015.

What you’re saying
about this on...
Richard F: Should be treated as a sex crime.
Blake A: Ridiculous
Mandy I: Ok first off as a citizen you have the right to refuse and officer to enter
your home until he provides the paper work staying he has that right! So she was not in the
wrong as she closed “HER” door! The officer also did not state what he was arresting her
for? Hmm some bs right there! It isn’t a right to arrest there has to be a reason stating while
in the process of cuffing someone! Talk about literally stepping on her rights just because
he has a badge!!
Jerry P: They can enter for probable cause, but this may not have been
Dalton J: Cause all cops follow the rules?
Cassi G: I wasn’t naked but this reminds me of when I had my second child and
an officer came into my room 3 hours after I had a c-section, yelling at me, and telling me
if I wasn’t laying in a hospital bed, I would be arrested. He kept saying he had court papers
signed by a judge that my first child was to be with his father at that time, when those
papers were never signed. When I asked to see the signed papers, he told me they were evidence and I wasn’t allowed to see them. My heart was pounding on the monitor. The other
officer with him didn’t say anything during the incident, but confronted him when they left
the room. He checked the papers and saw they weren’t signed. Came back the next day to
apologize and told their boss about the incident. I filed a report but nothing ever happened
to the officer. That was a horrible situation! A moment that should have been filled with
joy, completely shattered by nonsense.
Lonny F: Charge him with felony trespass.....( Handcuff and restrained and with
a firearm) no different than someone else that entered and did the same thing....if its true
Bridgett S: I believe they were in the wrong for entering. However if cops show
up and enter my house while I am naked. I believe I would ask them to hold on until i get
clothes on, not, hey wait and let me grab my phone. I would also be nice about it. Lol
Chock D: If an officer enters your place without a warrant or probable cause then
it is consider B&E or forcible entry. Meaning that if you are in fear for your life you can
shot him.
Dan S: She closed the door in his face. Why didn’t she just leave the door open
while she went for her phone ?
Mizzus L: Something like this happened to me in OKC about 8 years ago... Except I wasn’t arrested... I called MULTIPLE attorneys, and they all agreed the Police was
wrong, but because it was the FBI, ATF and OSBI, nobody would touch it with a ten foot
A woman handcuffed while naked by a police officer
who entered her home illegally is planning to file a lawsuit against the city. “I felt helpless. I felt violated. And
honestly, I felt molested,” said Esmeralda Rossi. The incident was captured on cellphone cameras.
Police records said Rossi was trying to agitate the officer
but an investigation found that he did, in fact, enter the
home illegally. What would you do?

David M: Everyone is suddenly a lawyer. Your only hearing part of the story and
convicting parties as of yet in heard from. SMH.
Randy F: If he had no business being in the residence, he became a criminal
when he entered. Treat him as such.
Scott T: The officer should be canned AND prosecuted.
Angela C: Ok so if and I’m saying if he had been there and told her you say something, and you will die. I suppose that everyone would have been on here saying the cops
should have came in and looked around.
April C: Just because she answered the door wearing just a towel, which by the
way is a stupid thing to do, doesn’t mean there wasn’t a possible situation inside the home.
She could have very well been going for a gun, or maybe an unseen person was forcing her
to back away from the door. How are the police supposed to know? If they got a domestic
call then it could have been anything. Moral of this story is, don’t answer your door naked,
dumba**!
Mike G: Moral of the story all that b.s u mentioned above doesn’t count . if she
didn’t invite him in & he didn’t have a search warrant . THEN HE ENTERED HER HOUSE
ILLEGALLY !!! stop making excuses !! We have rights JUST because of sh** like this !!
Mark D: sure its not her first video or lawsuit
Tammy R: Good thing all the people on Facebook were there to know ALL the
facts!
James H: The best thing to do in this case is to very nicely ask this lady how
much they owe her and pay her. Of course this should be done after the termination of the
officer from the city.
Jeff D: that is rediculous he should be fired for sure
Adrian P: Wow, reading some of the comments here, there are some people who
really have issues. The cop should be charged and do jail time, but this is a state who dosent
recognize Martin Luther King day do it dosent suprise me.
John J: fire him
Troy R: Lock him in gen-pop of a prison for a week. Let him find out how much
a bad a** he is there.
Lanette K: Retires to secure his pension! I hope she gets most of it in the law
suit. This was just wrong on so many levels!
Michelle K: How humiliating!
Skylar L: They never report the whole story. They never show the whole video.
Funny how that is huh ?? Looking to get rich quick.
Blackie P: If there wasn’t any reason to be there, then I say, sue them!
Jillian H: That is absolute bs. I hope she wins and wins big and will hopefully be
able to recover along with her daughter.

Frederick man Tyler Black Ballew, 26, made himself a wanted man on July 4 after he allegedly broke
into a home in the 400 block of S. 13th and took some
televisions and shoes.
According to the police report, officers were dispatched to the residence at 2:56 a.m. A man told them
he lived there with a woman and when he returned
from jogging, he saw a man carrying a television.
When he entered his home, he realized it was the
TV from inside his house. He looked around the residence and discovered that all three TVs were missing. He also found items
in the house that didn’t belong there, such as a sander with the name “Tyler
Ballew” written on it.
Officers spoke to the woman resident, who told them she thought a man
known to her as Blake might have something to do with the burglary. She
said she was suspicious, because he would only talk to her and not police
about the burglary.
Police learned through further investigation that Ballew was trying to
sell the stolen TVs, and he was storing them at a home in the 700 block of
S. 11th.
A woman at the residence said Ballew was her nephew, and he had asked
if he could store his televisions at her house.
One of the TVS had two screws in the base -- this was one of the identifying features the victim listed.
Ballew’s aunt also said the man was wearing a different pair of shoes than
he normally wore.
They were red, white and blue. The description matched the victim’s description of shoes that had been stolen from her house.
On July 7, police found Ballew in the 500 block of S. Main. They attempted to arrest him, but he was able to break away from officers and run away.
On July 9, they finally got him. He was placed under arrest and transported to jail.
Ballew is being charged with knowingly concealing stolen property. His
bond was set at $15,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on August
11, 2015.
What you gonna
do in those shoes?
Marshall County, Alabama, Sheriff Scott Walls said a burglary suspect got more than he bargained for when he attempted to flee deputies
across a field belonging to a particularly ornery bull on July 8.
Walls said it started around 8 a.m. at a residence on Baldwin Drive
in Arab, Ala. The owner of a home on that street came home and found
a truck in his yard belonging to two people who were burglarizing his
home. The homeowner immediately called the Sheriff’s Office and
chased the suspects as they ran away.
A short time later, Sheriff Walls said deputies and Arab Police located
the suspect’s vehicle and pursued it to the Union Grove area, where the
truck crashed.
“The driver, Brad Lynn Hemby, 26, of Boaz, fled across a cow pasture
and grabbed the attention of a bull roaming the field. The bull also gave chase along with deputies,” Walls said.
With more on his mind than jail at that moment, Hemby continued to run. Bad turned to worse
for him when he fell into a barbed wire fence. He immediately surrendered to deputies, Walls said.
The female passenger in Hemby’s truck ran into a wooded area not occupied by a bull and has
not been located at this time.
After the arrest, deputies recovered stolen property from Hemby’s truck, Walls said. Hemby is
charged with burglary, theft, and attempting to elude. Deputies continue to search for the passenger.

POSTON
An Anadarko man was arrested July 19 because he allegedly stole a dog from a man’s front yard, and hit another man
with a shovel.
Anadarko police were dispatched to the 300 block of East
Georgia shortly after 10 a.m. to investigate the incident. A
man told him 34-year-old Edwin Arnold Poston, aka “Scoby,”
took his dog from his yard.
An officer located Poston, who told him a man gave him
a dog. He said she was walking it down the street, when a
man approached him and said the dog didn’t belong to him.
Poston said the man then hit him with a shovel.
The officer took Poston back to the victim’s home. The victim said he was sitting in his house when he looked outside
and saw Poston untying his dog. He and another man at the
residence went outside and told Poston to stop.
According to the police report, Poston then picked up a
shovel and hit one of the men.
The man said when he saw Poston stealing the dog, he approached him and told Poston it
wasn’t his dog. When Poston hit him with a shovel, he said he grabbed it, broke it in two and
hit Poston with the wooden part of the shovel.
The man had lacerations on his back, stomach and arm.
Poston is being charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and larceny of
dogs. His bond was set at $5,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on August 31, 2015.

Walters man Jonathan Cody Linderkamp, 27, walked
into a house on July 5 without permission. He was arrested
though, because the people in the home had no idea who
he was.
A Cotton County deputy was dispatched to the residence
shortly after 5 p.m. He was advised the suspect had fled the
scene, and one of the victims was following him.
The deputy located the suspect vehicle and stopped it approximately 5 miles west on on state Highway 5. The driver
was identified as Linderkamp. He told the man he was a
suspect in a burglary and removed Linderkamp from the
vehicle and placed him in handcuffs.
The woman who was following him told the deputy
Linderkamp had just walked into the house.
Linderkamp told the deputy he was trying to find his girlfriend’s house. He thought he was there, so he knocked on
the door. When no one answered, he walked inside. He said after he entered the house, he
locked the door.
The deputy asked Linderkamp if it would be OK if he just walked into his residence.
Linderkamp said yes. He then stated, “I think I want to be silent.”
Police went back to the victim’s home to see what happened. The woman said Linderkamp
walked into her house through the back door. She said she didn’t hear him knock. The woman said she saw the man peek around the wall and look down the hallway. She was expecting
some tree trimmers to come to her residence, so she asked him if he was there to look at the
trees.
He said he was.
She walked to the back door and noticed it was locked. She asked him how he got in; he
just shrugged his shoulders.
The woman asked him his name. After he left, she called the tree trimming company. They
had no one that worked for them by that name.
On the way to jail, Linderkamp kept telling police that he “didn’t take nothing,” and that
there was “nothing stolen in [his] car.”
Linderkamp is being charged with burglary in the first degree. His bond was set at $30,000,
and he is scheduled to appear in court on August 6, 2015.

Well, it took long enough, and
I’m not complaining about that,
but the heat has finally arrived!
Whether its at the lake, pool, or any of the numerous other
activities to be found throughout this great state, there are plenty of
ways to beat the heat! Since summertime travel is a big part of this
I thought I would touch on the way heat can affect your traveling
plans, and some tips to help you!
First, be prepared. Cars suffer in the heat just like we do. If
and when they break down, you’ll want to be ready. Be familiar
with your emergency equipment in your vehicle. This means learn
where your jack, spare tire, and tire tool are. Learn how to use
them. Figuring that out on the side of the road at 102 degrees is
no fun at all. The owner’s manual of your vehicle has a section
on roadside emergencies that can help you figure out where the
emergency equipment is stored, and tips on how to use it. Learn
the steps to change a flat! Although we will be happy to help you
if you are broken down, we aren’t always close, and may not be
able to get to you for a long period of time. If you know how to get
yourself out of a roadside emergency, that’s less time you’ll spend
in the heat.
Take lots of water with you if you are going on a trip, especially
if it’s a long one. Have a cell phone with you so you can call for
help if you need it. Be aware of your surroundings when driving,
so you can give the person you call for help an accurate location for
where you are. Also, if you can get your car to a place of shade, do
so. Temperatures can be up to 20 degrees cooler in a place of shade
such as an overpass or large trees.
Lastly, make sure your car is maintained properly. Ever notice
how many pieces of tires you see on the roadway during the
summer? The heat is hard on tires, so make sure they are properly
inflated and have good tread. If your tread is worn, get them
replaced! The pavement those tires are rolling on is even hotter
than the thermometer is showing! Visually check your belts, and
make sure all your fluids are filled up. That ounce of prevention
can keep you from being stuck on the side of the road in 100 plus
temperatures.
Preparing for roadside emergencies in the heat is just as important
as it is in the winter, but it seems like we just don’t prepare the
same for it. Just a few minutes of learning how to change a flat,
packing in a case of water, and being aware of your surroundings
can keep a bad day from being a whole lot worse!
Thanks for reading, buckle up, and be safe!
Tips from a Trooper stupid criminals
A man in Stockholm, Sweden was a bit miffed when the 13-year-old girl
he’d been courting didn’t show up for an arranged sex meeting. Having met
the girl on a dating website, this man deposited an advance payment in her
bank account before their “date”. When the teen stood him up, the man
found her home phone number and called her father to demand a refund.
You can imagine how that ended.
John Szwalla, a 17-year-old idiot from North Carolina, entered an internet cafe and demanded money, claiming he had a gun hidden under his
shirt. The “gun” was actually a banana. The cafe’s owner, along with a customer, restrained John and called the police. John ate the banana while he
waited for the cops to arrive. Apparently the police joked about charging
the kid with “destroying evidence”.
James Blankenship’s first mistake was to try to break into his own mother’s house. Young James had a go at climbing through the first floor window, then bolted when he was caught.
It didn’t help that he conducted the botched raid in broad daylight, but
let’s set that aside for a moment, because this story gets much dumber.
When police found James hiding in a crawl space near the scene and arrested him, the young man was stunned. James thought he couldn’t be arrested for burglary because it wasn’t night-time.

Altus woman Justine Raquel Marcelle Pena, 27, was caught
in the What-a-Burger bathroom only wearing her panties and
presumably doing drugs.
According to the police report, Altus police were dispatched
to the restaurant in the 2700 block of N. Main shortly after 2
a.m. because there was a naked woman in the bathroom. A
customer told police that when she went into the bathroom,
she found a woman standing in her panties. She was dancing
around, and she told the customer she was looking for her
insulin. She also told the customer that she had been drinking
to celebrate getting out of jail.
The woman said she asked Pena to put her clothes back on.
When police entered the bathroom, they found Pena standing in front of the sink. She was jittery, seemed to be anxious
when she was talking, and her pupils were dilated. She told police she had taken a Xanax,
which she had a prescription for.
When an officer asked her what she was doing in the bathroom, Pena said she needed
some feminine products, but she couldn’t go into Walmart to get them because she had been
banned from the store.
She asked a woman in the Walmart parking lot if she had any pads or tampons she could
have.
Pena said the woman gave her some Depends. She told police she had changed out of them
in the bathroom, and the Depends were in the toilet.
Police searched the bathroom and they found the Depends in the trashcan. Inside the pullup waistband was a syringe. An officer also found a black cigar case in Pena’s possession.
When the woman was booked into jail, an officer found a driver’s license and credit card
belonging to a man.
When police contacted the man, he told them he was missing a black case, his driver’s
license and credit cards, and a watch. Pena was wearing the watch when she was arrested.
Pena is being charged with knowingly concealing stolen property, acts resulting in gross
injury and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $20,000, and she
is scheduled to appear in court on August 25, 2015.
