We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money or
favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting
offi cer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.

A Lawton woman was taken into custody after she switched places
with the driver of the car she was riding in during a traffic stop on
I-44 in Cotton County.
Marsha Willis, 50, was charged with actual physical control of a vehicle under the influence on June 23 in Cotton County District Court.
According to the police affidavit, a OHP trooper notified another
trooper that he had a vehicle stopped at Mile Marker 4 along I-44 in
Cotton County due to excessive speed. He said he observed the driver
and passenger switch seats inside the car while the car was stopped.
Both troopers spoke to the driver and passenger and could smell
the strong odor of alcohol emitting from both. When asked, the former driver said he switched seats with Willis because he didn’t have a driver’s license.
Willis and the former driver both failed a field sobriety test, and Willis refused to take the
state’s test.
Inside the vehicle, one of the troopers found a prescription bottle with Willis’ name on it,
and the warning label advised that the person taking the medication should not driver or
operate machinery while on the medication. Willis admitted she had taken the prescription
several hours earlier in the day.
Willis was transported to the Cotton County jail and booked. At her first appearance hearing, she pled not guilty and bond was set at $15,000. Her preliminary conference is scheduled for July 21.

An Oklahoma City man was arrested after he broke into an Enid bar because he allegedly
told police God told him to.
It gets crazier.
When an Enid officer arrived at the bar in the 3600 block of E. Market, the owner of the bar
told him that she had found a man in her establishment.
The man, Joe Don Ong, 47, told the officer in very fast speech that he wasn’t breaking any
laws and he was told to go to the bar. Ong was holding a small dog.
The officer asked him who told him to go to the bar, and Ong told him God, according to the
affidavit.
Ong quickly explained that he knew it sounded crazy, but it wasn’t.
Oh, good.
Ong said it wasn’t crazy because he was no longer smoking synthetic weed — he was now smoking the real stuff.
Wait, what?
The officer asked him how long it had been since he smoked the real weed, and Ong told him he just did and he
had some in his pocket. The officer told Ong to place his hands behind his back. He placed Ong in handcuffs and
found a burnt marijuana cigarette in his pocket.
The officer took Ong to his patrol vehicle. Ong told him that everything was OK, because he took down the sign.
The officer later found out that Ong had removed a sign from the door that said no pets were allowed in the bar.
The officer also found out Ong made himself at home while in the bar. He moved a mat from the bathroom to
the front porch, rearranged pool cues and T-shirts, brought his own pool balls into the bar, set up a table, spread
some of his clothing out in the bar, drank a soda and moved a white cash register. He also left a pair of boots, a pet
carrier, papers, a glove and a straw hat in the business.
During a search of Ong’s vehicle, police found rolling papers and another marijuana cigarette.
Ong is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, unlawful possession of drug
paraphernalia and breaking and entering dwelling without permission. His bond was set at $2,500 and he is
scheduled to appear in court on July 7, 2014.

A Montana man was arrested for driving under the influence after
Gallatin County deputies say he drove drunk to bail his wife out of jail
for her DUI arrest hours earlier.
62-year-old Rick Fancher of Big Sky was arrested and charged with
this third DUI.
Prosecutors say jail staff reported Fancher left the jail at 3:30 a.m.
after trying to post bond for 44-year-old Stacey Jo Fancher. She had
been arrested for aggravated DUI with a blood-alcohol level of 0.201.
A deputy stopped Rick Fancher’s pickup near the jail. Court records
say his blood-alcohol level was 0.159.
An Orange City, Fla., woman has been accused of trying to shoplift
seven lobster tails from a Publix by stuffing them down her pants.
The tails are priced at $11.99 a piece, so Nichole Reed was allegedly
trying to swipe almost $84 worth of seafood. According to police,
the 30-year-old planned to swap the shellfish with a friend for some
Chinese food. Reed also said that she might have attempted to trade
the tails for Dilaudid, a painkiller. The Chinese food was put on hold
as Reed was charged with theft from a merchant and taken to the
Volusia County Branch Jail.

Summer is upon us, school is
out, and the time for recreation
and fun in the sun is here! With
summertime comes traffic to and from the lakes, as well as
numerous other endeavors that you can enjoy across the state,
including camping, riding horses, motorcycles, and atv’s, and other
activities too numerous to list here. One thing that a lot of these
activities have in common is towing something to and from these
locations. I’ve touched on this before, but it never hurts to re-visit
basic safety issues to keep in mind when towing a trailer, so here
goes!
One of the most important safety features that trailers come
equipped with are the safety chains or cables. These are required,
and must be in use when towing. These chains keep the trailer
attached to the vehicle should the coupling device break or
otherwise become disengaged. These chains or cables shall be of
sufficient size and strength to prevent parting from the towing
vehicle. A helpful hint when connecting your stay chains or cables
is to cross them under the tongue of the trailer. The stay chains or
cables must be attached in a manner to prevent the tongue from
falling to the ground, and crossing them allows the chains to catch
it if it should come off the coupling device.
Some larger trailers come equipped with an emergency
breakaway device. This device has a cable coming from it that must
be attached to the vehicle. If the trailer becomes disconnected from
the vehicle, when the cable is pulled tight, it automatically applies
the trailer brakes, preventing it from free-rolling. This device is
required on all trailers with a GVWR of 3000 lbs or more. Speaking
of brakes, state law requires that all brakes be maintained and in
good working order!
If you are breaking out this trailer for the first time since winter,
it’s a good idea to check the tires. Tires that sit for a long time
develop dry rot, flat spots, and lose pressure. Make sure that your
tires are in good working order, still have sufficient tread, and
check the pressure. Run the tires at the manufacturer’s suggested
psi for optimal performance.
Last but not least, we come to trailer lights. Make sure that all
your lights are functional. Plug them into the towing vehicle, and
check them all! Don’t assume that if they work in the daylight,
they will work at night, go ahead and check them with the towing
vehicle’s headlight switch turned on as well. If you are towing
more than one thing; in other words, towing in combination, only
the rearmost trailer’s lights must be operational.
Summertime is recreation time, and getting our toys to our
destination and back safely is the responsibility of every safe,
courteous driver. Lets all do our part to enjoy summer safely. As

A Frederick man with a blood alcohol level of 0.16 was caught driving his mother’s vehicle while drunk
on Texas beers and in possession of
meth on June 22.
It’s probably a good guess that he
won’t be driving her car again anytime soon.
According to the affidavit, a woman contacted police and told them
that her son, 23-year-old Julio Gonzales Gaitan, had taken her vehicle
and was supposed to bring it back,
but he didn’t.
She told police that she wanted the
vehicle returned. Gaitan should’ve known better than to mess with
his mom.
A Frederick officer saw the vehicle traveling northbound in the 100
block of N. 17th Street.
He pulled the vehicle over, and made contact with a very intoxicated Gaitan. The officer asked him if he had consumed any intoxicating
beverages, and Gaitan told him, “Six Texas beers.”
The officer told him to exit his vehicle for field sobriety tests, but
Gaitan had trouble maintaining his balance and had to use the vehicle for support. He apparently had even more trouble performing the
tests. He didn’t do well at all, and the officer placed him under arrest.
After the officer placed him in handcuffs, Gaitan told him that he
had methamphetamine and marijuana in his short pocket. The officer located two small bags, one with a green leafy substance and one
with a white crystal substance.
Gaitan is being charged with two counts of possession of controlled
dangerous substance and driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. His bond was set at $8,000, and he is scheduled
to appear in court on July 14, 2014.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is
off ering up to a $5,000 reward for information leading
to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons
responsible for the death of a McClain County woman.
Rachelle Flowers, 24, was found dead inside her
Blanchard home April 9, 2014. OSBI agents and
McClain County Sheriff ’s investigators have learned
two people were in the area near the time of the victim’s
death. One subject was an unknown Caucasian female
standing in the front yard of the victim’s home at
approximately 11:30 that morning. The second subject
was a Caucasian male described as standing between 6’2”-to-6’5” tall with dark hair,
wearing a light colored shirt and blue jeans. He was seen walking in the direction of the
victim’s home that morning.

Casselberry, Fla., Police have identified the cross-dressing burglar
and his accomplice who allegedly stole 18 TVs from Wal-Mart over
nearly a month period.
James William May, the cross dresser, and Andre Deshawn Williams, 23, stole the TVs through the roof of the gardening center in
burglaries at store from April 12 to May 19. Although the store is open
24 hours, the gardening center is closed at night. They managed to
climb up shelving, hoist up the TVs and slip them through fabric panels that acted as the ceiling in the gardening center, police said in a
report. In all, they took 18 TVs and one desktop computer with a total
value of about $10,000.
New Orleans police say a man held a woman at gunpoint in her
home and demanded sex. However, the crime never happened because the man dozed off. Police say 21-year-old Darkyus Raymond
gained access to the victim’s home and waited for her to return. When
the 21-year-old woman arrived at home, police say Raymond held
her at gunpoint and demanded to have sex with the victim. At some
point, Raymond fell asleep and police say the victim called authorities. Raymond was booked on charges of false imprisonment with a
weapon, aggravated burglary and an outstanding warrant.

A Mountain View man was arrested
June 25 after a Kiowa County deputy noticed a large bulge in the front pocket of
his shirt.
According to the affidavit, the deputy
saw a man leaning against a car parked in
the 1100 block of South Broadway. When
the man noticed the patrol car, he started
to walk away from the vehicle, holding his
right pocket. The deputy asked to speak
with him, and the man said, “What’s up,”
before walking to the patrol car.
The man identified himself as 37-yearold Delvin Lamar Rose and told the officer that he was hanging out
while his wife worked her shift. When the officer asked if the vehicle he had been leaning against was his, Rose said no, and acted as
though he didn’t know whom the owner was.
The deputy noticed a large bulge in the front pocket of Rose’s shirt,
and he asked if he could search Rose’s person. Rose agreed, but when
the deputy went toward the bulge in the shirt, Rose grabbed a black
bag out of the pocket and attempted to move it to the other pocket.
The deputy observed a glass pipe protruding out of the bag. It also
appeared to have a large amount of methamphetamine residue inside. A test of the device was positive for meth.
The deputy placed Rose under arrest and also located some marijuana and a blunt in his pocket.
A woman approached the deputy and told him Rose was her boyfriend. She told the officer the vehicle Rose had been leaning against
was hers, and she gave the deputy permission to search it. The deputy found a safe in the vehicle. The woman opened it for the deputy
and inside was a small amount of marijuana. The woman told the
deputy the safe was hers, but Rose had been in possession of it.
Rose is being charged with possession of controlled dangerous
substance. He is being held in lieu of a $20,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 2, 2014.

Bad neighbor Jeremy Allen Radford, 34, was arrested on June 18
after he yelled at his neighbor and threw a gallon of orange juice at
a police officer.
The Hydro man is definitely one neighbor you wouldn’t want to
say “howdy” to.
According to the affidavit, a Caddo County deputy and Hydro police officer were dispatched to a residence in the Swan Lake Housing
addition. The reporting party told police that her neighbor, Radford,
was apparently intoxicated and standing in the middle of the street
yelling threats at her.
When police made contact with Radford, he smelled strongly of
alcohol and was very unsteady on his feet. When the deputy asked Radford what was going on, Radford slurred that nothing was going on, and the deputy was on his property and
needed to leave. The deputy agreed to leave if Radford would stop threatening his neighbors.
Radford agreed, and the officers left the area.
But, Radford didn’t hold up his end of the bargain.
The officers returned, and made contact with Radford at the intersection of Division Street
and Norma. Radford immediately started yelling profanities at the officers. The deputy informed him he was under arrest, but Radford informed police that he wasn’t going to stop.
He acted as though he was going to take off running, and when the officer approached him,
Radford threw a gallon of orange juice at him.
Luckily, the OJ missed the officer, but police had to physically restrain Radford due to his
resisting arrest.
On the way to jail, Radford threatened to kill both of the officers and burn their houses
down.
He even went as far to tell one office that he was going to slit his throat. He eloquently
added, “Die, die, die.”
Radford is being charged with threatening to perform act of violence, resisting an officer
and public intoxication. He is being held in lieu of a $4,000 bond and is scheduled to appear
in court on July 3, 2014.

However, most people agree (regardless of culture) that there are certain
actions that are wrong, and should be punishable by fines, imprisonment or
even death.
Even the person who “doesn’t believe in right or wrong” would have a hard
time observing a maniac rape and murder a small child, and say that what
happened to them was not a crime.
Sin is a terminal disease that eats away at the very heart of this planet. It
destroys individual people, families, cultures, even the earth itself. Our world
is defiled by it, yet most people cannot even give a definition of the word, or
grasp the true gravity of the situation. What is sin? Surely sin is more that ten
different opinions from ten different people. Is there any final authority on
this subject?
The Bible says that sin is a heart condition. It is a condition of rebellion
against God, which stems from pride. The Bible even refers to pride as
“original sin.” The Hebrew definition of the word sin means “to miss the
mark.” God created us to be like Him, but our pride and rebellion make us
fall far short of that purpose. Our actions, though they may be “sinful” are
really only the fruit of our rebellion against God. Our outward actions merely
mirror our true inner condition. It is our true inner condition that God is
concerned with. He knows the “real you” better than you yourself do, because
he sees “the inner man” and all your secret thoughts and motives.

An Ohio man is arrested on sex crimes charges after
police say he took park in sex acts with inflatable rafts,
again.
Hamilton, Ohio, police charged Edwin Tobergta.
Investigators say someone saw him performing simulated sex acts with a pink raft on Route Four.
He’s facing charges of public indecency and contempt of court for failing to show up in court on a previous charges. Tobergta has eight previous arrests.
He’s been arrested multiple times in the past for
similar accusations including having sex with an inflatable Santa and Pumpkin. Last November, a judge
sentenced him to 11 months in jail for a similar sex act.

An underage and intoxicated driver
tried to pass off the smell of alcohol on
his person as cologne.
That’s some strong cologne you’ve got
there, Eric Mark Borgman!
According to the affidavit, a state
trooper was on the off ramp of SH 36
and I-44 when he saw a truck exit off
I-44 with fog lamps on. As the truck approached the trooper’s location, he noticed that it had modified exhaust and
oversize tires with no mud flaps. The
trooper turned on his emergency lights
and pulled the vehicle over. He made
contact with Borgman and asked him to
have a seat in the patrol car.
In the car, the trooper could smell a
strong odor of alcohol coming from the 20-year-old Wichita Falls,
Texas, man. He asked him if he had anything to drink. Borgman said
no. The trooper told him he could smell alcohol on his person, but
Borgman told him is was his cologne.
The trooper again asked him how much he had had to drink, and
Borgman admitted he had had two beers earlier that day, and “about
a half of a beer” 15 minutes prior to the stop.
The trooper asked him where he had been, and Borgman told him
a restaurant in Texas.
The underage drinker performed poorly on the standard field sobriety tests, and the trooper placed him under arrest and transported him the Cotton County Jail.
Borgman is being charged with driving under the influence by a
person under 21. He was released on a $1,500 bond, and is scheduled to appear in court on August 13, 2014.

An Altus woman with an apparent affinity for showcasing her boobs was arrested on
June 17 after one of her neighbors had had
enough.
According to the affidavit, an Altus police
officer was dispatched to a residence in the
1200 block of N. Thomas due to a geriatric exhibitionist.

Yes, according to Judith Almeida Mortensen. Nope, according to
the victim and her children.
The victim told the officer that Mortensen had walked into her residence uninvited. She said Mortensen rang the doorbell once before
opening the door herself and walking into the house.
The victim, who was sitting on the couch watching TV with her
children, told Mortensen she didn’t have the right to be in her house
without permission and that she was going to call the police if she
didn’t leave.
Mortensen then allegedly told the victim to go ahead and call the
police before lifting up her shirt and exposing her bare breasts to the
victim and her children.
A witness backed up the victim’s story. Both women told the officer that the incident had happened more than once before.
The officer placed Mortensen under arrest and transported her to
jail.
Mortensen is being charged with first-degree burglary and lewd
exhibition of person. She is being held in lieu of a $25,000 bond and
is scheduled to appear in court on August 11, 2014.
