DEADLY
CONFRONTATION
Lawton man Dominique Anthony Lyon, 22, was
arrested for allegedly shooting and killing a man
on the morning of March 24.
According to reports, Lyon also injured another
man when he pulled the trigger of the gun outside
of a convenience store in the 600 block of South
Sheridan.
First responders were dispatched to Southwest
E Avenue and Sheridan Road just before 2:30 a.m. When they arrived, they
found both victims. One of the men was pronounced dead at the scene. The
other man was transported to the hospital for be treated for his injuries.
The man who was killed was working at the store when some friends came
to visit after Chele’s closed. An off-duty store employee said he was standing
outside the door when he saw a man who had been banned from the store. He
told the man to leave and the two argued for a bit. One of the victim’s friends
tried to diffuse the situation.
A white truck that was leaving Chele’s stopped in the middle of E. Avenue.
Lyon was driving the truck. He and his passenger exited the vehicle.
The passenger walked up to the friend and took the man’s pool stick he had
on his back. He then hit the friend in the back of the head.
Lyon approached the off-duty employee. The victim wrapped his arms around
Lyon, and they fell to the ground. The passenger told him to let go. When the
victim let go of Lyon, Lyon pulled out a gun and shot the victim and the off-duty
employee multiple times. He and his passenger then jumped in the truck and
headed southbound on Sheridan Road driving in the northbound lanes.
As of press time, Lyon is being charged with aggravated assault and battery
and assault and battery. His bond was set at $100,000, and he is scheduled to
appear in court on May 28, 2024.

A 33-year-old Marlow man was taken to jail
after he led officers on a high-speed pursuit on
March 9.
He was also allegedly under the influence of
marijuana.
According to the police report, a Marlow police
officer was patrolling northbound on Broadway
Street when he saw a black Dodge Charger traveling at a high rate of speed around 2:48 p.m. The vehicle was going 50 mph in
a 30-mph zone. The officer activated his lights to stop the vehicle, but the driver
kept traveling northbound on Highway 81.
The driver, later identified as Dylan Thomas Palmer, then sped up to 90 mph
as he passed Ballpark Road. Another officer drove in front of the Charger to see
if Palmer would stop, but he instead sped up to 140 mph and drove past the
patrol vehicle.
Palmer reached speeds up to 140 mph as he drove all over the road and endangered other motorists.
A Rush Springs officer joined the pursuit. As they all approached Highway 81
and CR 1510, Palmer slowed down to 68 mph. An officer again drove in front of
the Charger. Other officers drove around the car, and Palmer came to a stop at
the intersection of Highway 81 and CR 1470.
Officers helped Palmer exit the vehicle through the driver’s side window.
Palmer appeared to be under the influence of something – he had pin-pointed eyes and smelled like marijuana. He was also sweating profusely and was
lethargic.
An officer asked the man if he had any illegal substances – he said possibly.
An officer searched the vehicle and found a small bag of marijuana, a glass
pipe with weed, a glass pipe with burnt residue, and a medical marijuana substance containing a white powdery substance.
Palmer is being charged with endangering others while attempting to elude a
police officer after the former conviction of a felony, driving a motor vehicle while
under the influence of drugs, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
His bond was set at $100,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on May
22, 2024.

FORCED TO SLOW
DOWN
A Waurika man has been sentenced to a statutory maximum sentence of 180 months in prison
for carjacking.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that 28-year-old
Preston Shawn Whittington had been sentenced
to 180 months in prison.
On May 31, 2023, Whittington pleaded guilty to
the charge.
According to investigators, Whittington was an inmate at the Jackie Brannon
Correctional Center in McAlester, serving a state sentence for kidnapping.
On March 30, 2021, Whittington assaulted the victim, stole the victim’s vehicle, and escaped. During the assault, Whittington threatened to kill the victim.
Officers with the Davis Police Department reportedly later spotted the victim’s
vehicle at a local gas station with Whittington inside.
Whittington then led police on a high-speed chase, exceeding speeds of 100
MPH before crashing the victim’s vehicle and fleeing on foot.
He stole a second vehicle before being captured in Wichita Falls, Texas, one
day after he escaped from prison.
Whittington will remain in custody of the U.S. Marshal Service pending transportation to a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility.

WHAT THEY WANT,

An Apache man who had a warrant for his arrest
through the FBI was arrested and booked into the
Caddo County Jail on March 12.
He was taken into custody after an hours-long
standoff with police that evening.
According to reports, Gary Henson had two felony warrants for his arrest. One of the warrants
was through the FBI for embezzlement. The other
warrant was for feloniously pointing a firearm.
Police officers, including the Caddo County Special Response team, went to
arrest Henson at a location on E. London Avenue for the warrants shortly before
4 p.m. Officers tried to draw the man out of the residence, but Henson barricaded
himself inside. He was eventually arrested at approximately 7:30 p.m.
He was booked into the Caddo County Jail where he will wait for FBI officers to
pick him up and move him to a difference location.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

Bicycle Race
On March 12, just before 2 a.m., a Tulsa Police Officer
tried to stop a person on an electric bicycle. The suspect
didn’t stop and led the Officer on a pursuit through the
neighborhoods near 51st Street and Darlington, passing
through multiple apartment complexes.
The Officer tracked the suspect down on foot at the
Brighton Apartments and took him into custody.
The suspect, identified as Daniel Louis, was in possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and an extended magazine with two rounds. Officers were unable to
find a gun after retracing the path of the pursuit.
The electric bike was not reported stolen, however, the bike controls had clearly been tampered
with and the bike appeared to have been hot wired.
Daniel Louis was arrested for Possession of a
Controlled Dangerous Substance, Obstructing
Justice, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Joyriding, and a Bicycle Violation.

Two former nursing home workers are facing
felony charges and the loss of their jobs.
Shelly Nichole Eaglin, 38, was charged with neglect by caretaker, forgery, second degree, and
use of computer to violate Oklahoma statute, and
Kimberly Ann Eaglin, 34, was charged with neglect by caretaker, in Grady County District Court
on March 19.
According to reports, the women were charged
with the crimes when they allegedly failed to do
their jobs at Shanoan Springs Nursing Home and
then told their supervisor that they had. The allegations state they did not to check on a resident
during their shift and that neglect resulted in injuries to the resident.
Shelly also allegedly entered into the nursing
home’s database that they had checked on the
resident.
Both were relieved of their duties.
Shelly’s bond was set at $15,000 and Kimberly’s bond was set at $5,000. Both women are
scheduled to appear in court on April 24.

AROUND THE NATION
Ice Cream, You Scream
Last month while we were all sleeping safe and sound in our
beds, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Florida, East Precinct
Deputies were out peacekeeping, when around 3:00 in the morning they came across a suspicious vehicle parked at the BP Gas
Station, on the Merritt Island Causeway. As the deputy got out of
the vehicle and approached the driver, he observed Tara Kidder
sound asleep, like a bug in a rug behind the wheel, with a container
of ice cream in her lap!!
Now first of all, who falls asleep with half eaten ice cream, as
that seems like a crime in itself, but things got even worse for
Kidder after the deputy woke her up from her little nap, as she decided that right then was all of a sudden
a great time to clean up her car and throw away her trash in a nearby garbage can, including her Taco Bell
bag and a few other items as well!!
I guess she thought this was their first rodeo and that we wouldn’t be wise to her little attempt to hide
her drugs in the garbage can, however that little plan was foiled when other deputies arrived on scene and
retrieved the “trash” Kidder had thrown away. On top of the Taco Bell bag was a clear baggie that contained
approximately 11.3 grams of mushrooms and actually hidden inside the bag was another clear baggie that
contained 5.5 grams of a white substance that field tested positive for meth!!
When deputies subsequently searched the vehicle, they also found two additional bags in the console,
one with 0.7 grams of meth and another with 0.4 grams of cocaine base. And then, the most concerning find was in Kidder’s backpack where deputies found 7.8 grams of
Fentanyl, which is enough to kill 3,900 people if put into a lethal dose.
Kidder later admitted to throwing the drugs in the trash can, but said
she didn’t know there was Fentanyl in the backpack… man, don’t you
hate it when that happens?!! Ultimately Kidder enjoyed a ride in the
courtesy shuttle to jail where she is being held on a “No Bond” status for
Trafficking in Fentanyl, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Mushrooms, Tampering with Evidence, and
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia!!
On a more positive note, the food at the Brevard County Jail can
sometimes have the same effects as Taco Bell, but it in no way tastes
as good!!

DRUG DEALING FOR DUMMIES:
CHAPTER 1
In This Chapter You Will Learn:
• Rule Number One: Don’t Be A Drug Dealer
• Rule Number Two: No Matter What, Don’t Be A Drug Dealer
• Rule Number Three: If You Are Gonna Deal Drugs Don’t Fall Asleep Behind The Wheel
• Rule Number Four: Even If You Hide Drugs In Your Butt The Cops Will Still Find Them
To truly understand the importance of the four basic rules listed above, let’s look to what happened last year to Katrina Workman, of Brevard County, Florida, who not only forget basic rule
number one, but apparently didn’t follow any of the basic rules!!
Not only did Workman totally ignore rules one and two, but then she decided to fall asleep behind
the wheel of her car while parked in the parking lot of the Raceway in Mims. As is often the case
when you violate this rule, the Deputies show up and then things most often take a turn for the worst
for the drug dealer. In this classic example of ignoring the rules, Deputies arrived on scene and observed Workman trying to hide a baggy that contained multiple types of illegal drugs.
Workman was actually trying to conceal approximately 2 grams of Methamphetamine, approximately 2.6 grams of Fentanyl, approximately 1.8 grams of Buprenorphine, and approximately 6.4
grams of Amphetamine/Dextroamphetamine. As a result of not following the basic rules, especially
numbers one and two, which clearly state don’t sell drugs, Workman was arrested and taken into
custody!!
Now here is where Workman completely ignored rule number four as she was warned to disclose
to the Deputies if she had any other contraband hidden on her person to which she of course responded, “no”!! Even after being warned that if she did, additional charges would be forthcoming,
Workman still blatantly ignored rule number four and carried another baggie of fentanyl into our jail
which she had hidden in her buttocks. Well, as we clearly point out in Drug Dealing For Dummies,
“even if you hide drugs in your butt the cops will still find it” and that is exactly what happened as
our Corrections Deputies seized the additional baggie of fentanyl, while Workman was changing into
her nice new prison attire!!
Workman was subsequently booked into our jail on a
total bond of $13,000 for Possession of Fentanyl, Possession of Methamphetamine, Two Counts of Possession of a
Controlled Substance, and Introduction of Contraband Into
a Correctional Facility.
So students, what have we learned from this classic example of what happens if you don’t follow the basic rules
covered in chapter one of Drug Dealing For Dummies? Well
it’s simple…if you deal drugs, you are going to jail, if you fall
asleep behind the wheel of your car in the parking lot you
help the cops put you in jail, and lastly, if you hide drugs
in your butt the cops will still find them and then you get
another felony charge for bringing contraband into our jail!!
