""THE NEED TO DETER
SIMILAR CONDUCT""
Skyler Lee Pasley, 35, of Lawton, has been sentenced
to serve 132 months in federal prison for possession of
methamphetamine with intent to distribute and illegal
possession of a firearm after a previous felony conviction, announced U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.
On September 6, 2023, Pasley was charged by Superseding Information with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and with being a felon in
possession of a firearm.
An affidavit in previously filed criminal complaint alleges that on September 15, 2022,
officers with the Lawton Police Department observed a vehicle driving recklessly. A
state-certified K-9 was deployed during a traffic stop on the vehicle and alerted to the
presence of drugs inside. During a subsequent search of his person, Pasley, the driver
and sole occupant of the vehicle, was found to have a firearm in his waistband, methamphetamine in his sock, and various other drugs, including cocaine and fentanyl, wrapped
in his hair.
Public record reflects that Pasley has a previous felony conviction for embezzlement in
Comanche County District Court case number CF-2006-609. He was also convicted of
possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, three counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm, interference with commerce by robbery, and carrying and brandishing
a firearm during a crime of violence in Western District of Oklahoma District Court case
number CR-08-289-R.
On September 15, 2023, Pasley pleaded guilty to the Superseding Information, admitting to possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and to possessing a
firearm despite his felony convictions.
At the sentencing hearing on July 17, 2024, Chief U.S. District Judge Timothy D. DeGiusti sentenced Pasley to serve 132 months in federal prison, followed by five years of
supervised release. In announcing the sentence, the Court noted the need to deter similar
conduct and to protect the public.

KATELYN AT BAT
Comanche woman Katelyn Joann Shornick, 36, is
facing a charge of assault and battery after she allegedly hit another woman in the head with a baseball bat on
July 14.
According to the affidavit, a Comanche police officer
was dispatched to the 400 block of N. Rodeo Drive
at approximately 2:30 a.m. for a medical call. He was
advised a woman at the location had been hit in the
head with a bat.
When he arrived, he made contact with the victim
who was bleeding from her head and covered in blood.
She told the officer that Shornick assaulted her with a bat at a residence down the road.
The woman said a man told her to come to his house. When she arrived, they opened
the gate and closed it behind her. Shornick approached her and started yelling at her
before hitting her in the head with a bat. The woman said she ran away and had to ram
another vehicle in the yard with her SUV to escape the residence.
Officers went to the man’s residence, in the 1000 block of S. Rodeo Drive. They made
contact with Shornick, who began talking about the incident without officers asking her
any questions.
The man also approached officers and told them that the victim had showed up at the
residence uninvited. He said she showed up and started cussing and trying to start a
fight. The man and Shornick told police that everything was in self defense.
The man then showed an officer a video from his camera that showed Shornick walking around the yard with a baseball bat before the victim arrived. The video also showed
Shornick open the gate with the bat.
On the video, the officer could hear some screaming and cussing, but he couldn’t see
who was involved in the altercation.
Shornich is being charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon after the
conviction of two or more felonies. Her bond was set at $25,000, and she is scheduled
to appear in court on September 11, 2024. HEATHER

AROUND THE STATE
On July 21, the Tulsa Police Department posted
about a suspect who exposed himself and threatened a violent sex act. Thanks to all of the tips, we
were able to identify him and Officers with the IMPACT Unit located and arrested him.
The suspect, Joshua Milligan, was arrested at Admiral and Harvard at 12:30 p.m. on June 28. He was
brought down to Detective Division where he was
questioned about the incident.
Here are a couple of highlights from the interview:
• He admitted to being the person at the store and being told to leave
• Even though it was recorded on audio, when asked why he threatened to “Rape”
the store owner’s daughter, he claimed he said he was going to “Rake” her. He said
that’s a “Mafia” meaning to kill a person.
• When he was asked why he said he was going to “F--- Her”, he said he meant
to say “F--- Her Over”. (FYI “F---” is an expletive we’re redacting, in case you weren’t
picking up on that)
• As far as exposing himself, he said his pants were sagging.
Milligan was charged July 5 with indecent exposure and threaten an act of violence, in Tulsa County District Court. Bond was set at $10,000.
Information from the original post:
On July 18, around 5:00 p.m., the white male
wearing the OSU jersey caused a disturbance in
front of a business near 51st and Yale.
When the owner asked him to leave, the suspect aggressively got up in the owner’s face. The
owner pushed him back and pulled a gun out in
defense, The suspect briefly retreated.
The suspect continued to exchange words
with the owner, cursed at him, and threatened to
rape his daughter (who was present).
The suspect eventually walked away but not
before threatening to rape his daughter again
and pulled down his pants to expose himself.

TRIPLE THE TROUBLE
Three people were taken into custody last month after
multiple law enforcement agencies closed in on a house
in Carnegie.
Debbie Albert, 62, and Robert Tofpi were charged July
19 with unlawful possession of controlled drug--methamphetamine--with intent to distribute and unlawful
possession of drug paraphernalia. Tofpi was additionally
charged with bringing contraband into jail. The third suspect, Dicey Mae Rodgers, 47, was charged with trafficking illegal drugs, in Caddo Count District Court.
A press release from the Caddo County Sheriff’s Office, they, along with District 6 Drug Task Force, and the
Carnegie Police Department, conducted a search warrant service on July 18 at 11 West Cedar in Carnegie.
Three people were arrested and trafficking amounts of
methamphetamine were seized.
Bond for Albert and Tofpi was set at $20,000; and
bond for Rodgers was set at $250,000.

AMERICA’S DEADLIEST SHOOTINGS
ARE ONES WE DON’T TALK ABOUT
On any given day in America, an average of 63 of our mothers,
brothers, partners, and friends are taken from us by gun suicide.
But tomorrow’s deaths could be prevented. Give your loved ones
a second chance at life. Store your guns safely: locked, unloaded,
and away from ammo.
AROUND THE NATION
Ice, ice, baby
A Dumfries, Va., man’s morning of mischief was literally put on ice after a crash at a Stafford County (Virginia) convenience store.
On July 14th at 2:57 a.m. Deputies S.A. Edwards,
D.S. Jett and C.M. Sterne responded to a single vehicle crash at the Valero at 620 Cambridge Street. They
arrived to find an Acura MDX had driven over the curb
and caused significant damage to the ice machine at
the side of the
business. The driver continued to reverse and pull
forward until deputies activated the lights and sirens on the patrol cars.
The driver was identified as Eric McDonald, 36,
and he refused to exit the vehicle. McDonald was
extracted from the vehicle and deputies noticed he
had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage as well as
glassy, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech.
McDonald was charged with DUI second offense in 10 years, three counts of obstruction,
felony destruction of property, refusal, no insurance and no registration. He was also found to be
wanted for a contempt of court charge from Stafford General District Court. McDonald was placed
in the Rappahannock Regional Jail pending his
ability to participate in a bond hearing.

REPORT RAPPORT
A Chickasha man was taken into custody after
cybertip reports led investigators to a home on W.
Grand Ave.
As of press time, no formal charges have been
filed in Grady County District Court against Thomas Edgill.
According to the Sheriff Gary Boggess, investigators with the Grady County Sheriff’s Office received multiple CyberTipline reports of possession and distribution of child pornography. Grady County Investigators were
able to determine that the internet access
for this crime occurred from a residence
in the 1300 block West Grand Avenue in
Chickasha.
On August 1, Grady County Investigators
executed a search warrant at this address
and a suspect, identified as Edgill, was arrested on the complaint of distribution/possession of child pornography.
