FENTANYL DEALERS
BUSTED

A 33-year-old Duncan man allegedly poured
acid into the fuel tanks of some wrecker vehicles
on September 25.
According to the police report, Jason Alexander
Wininger, 33, and Christopher Shane Hartness,
52, are being charged for their roles in the vandalism.
Hartness allegedly went to the Tri-County Wrecker Service located in the 200
block of West Main at approximately 3 a.m. on September 25.
He reportedly damaged two vehicles by pouring an acidic liquid into the fuel
tanks. The damage was discovered by an employee when he tried to drive one
of the vehicles. The truck died and wouldn’t start, so employees pulled a fuel
sample and tested it.
While reviewing security footage from the incident, the detective saw Hartness
walk up to two different two trucks and pour stuff from a white bottle into the fuel
tanks. Wininger, who worked at the nearby Love’s Convenience Store, allegedly
helped the man by stashing the evidence and giving Hartness different clothes
to wear.
The detective also found a white bottle in the dumpster at Love’s that was believed to have contained the acidic liquid. The bottle was checked for fingerprints
and sent off for analysis.
Video surveillance from Love’s showed the men at the convenience store
shortly after the vandalism took place.
On September 26, the victim confronted Wininger at Love’s at approximately
12:40 a.m. Officers responded to the scene.
Wininger told police that a man named Chris had given him two bottles of liquid used to damage the vehicles. He said Chris used to work for the company,
and there was some kind of falling out due to a workman’s comp claim.
Wininger and Hartness are being charged with two counts of malicious injury
to property over $1,000. Their bonds were set at $50,000. Wininger is scheduled to appear in court on February 21, 2024.
A warrant for Hartness’ arrest was issued on November 1, 2023.

THE LAST STRAW
Four people were taken into custody in late November after an illegal grow operation was discovered.
Amy Dillard, 44, of Duncan, was charged with
aggravated manufacture of CDS and trafficking in
illegal drugs, in Jefferson County District Court.
Also charged in the bust was Trung V. Doan,
58, of Ringling, with aggravated manufacture of
CDS and trafficking in illegal drugs, possession of
drug proceeds, and possess a firearm during the
commission of a felony.
Two others were also arrested, but no formal
charges were available at press time.
According to Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics
(OBN), OBN and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s
Department served a search warrant last month
at a marijuana grow in rural Jefferson County at
Golden Sunset Green LLC. The business was
linked to an on-going investigation into illegal cultivation using a ‘straw owner’
to claim control of the business. Agents seized 2,500 plants and 50 pounds of
processed marijuana. Arrests are pending as this investigation continues.
Since 2021, OBN has shut down more than 1,000 illegal marijuana growing operations, arrested more than 200 defendants, seized more than 700,000
pounds of marijuana destined for the out-of-state black market, and currently
has hundreds of additional investigations on-going linked to ‘straw owner’ licenses obtained by fraud, trans-shipping marijuana to the black market, or both.
We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

RUNNING FROM THE
LAW
An Anadarko man is facing felony charges
after he allegedly led police on a high-speed
chase last month.
Christopher John Vasquez, 25, was charged
November 14 with endangering others while
eluding/attempting to elude police officer, unlawful possession of paraphernalia, driving without a valid drivers license, and obstructing officer, in Caddo
County District Court.
Reports state that on November 13, Vasquez led Anadarko police officers
on a high-speed chase through a school zone, but soon lost him. After a
short time, officers found Vasquez and took him into custody.
Vasquez did not have a valid drivers license and also found drug paraphernalia in his possession.
Bond for Vasquez was set at $20,000 due to his lengthy criminal history,
including burglary, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, larceny of
an auto, and eluding.

AROUND THE NATION
Needin’ some down-home cookin!
For most people, prison would be something
you’d escape from and never look back if you
ever found yourself in that predicament; but for
these Texas prisoners, they just needed their creature comforts before coming
right back. According to Dallas News, an inmate who was locked up in a federal
facility in Beaumont snuck out only to get booze, tobacco, snacks, and food to
bring back with him since, you know, the food in prison is probably really bad.
And it isn’t just this one incident, either. Inmates have apparently been using
a back door to skip out to land nearby, picking up contraband left behind for
them, and coming right back. Sheriff’s Deputy Marcus McLellan recently told the
Beaumont Enterprise that inmates have been essentially making up their own
in-and-out privileges at the facility “since day 1.”
Sherrif’s deputies in Jefferson County finally realized what was happening and
laid in wait to watch it all go down. Around 5:45 PM, a duffel bag was dropped
off on the adjacent property, and around 7:30 p.m., 27-year-old Joshua Randall
Hansen was observed leaving the prison to retrieve the bag. On Hansen’s way
back into the facility after picking it up, he was arrested.
Once confiscated, the authorities said the duffel bag was full of alcohol (whiskey and brandy, specifically),
packages of tobacco, snacks,
fruits, and plenty of home cooked
food.
Hansen was already in the process of serving a little over two
years for conspiring to distribute designer drugs, but now will
likely do additional time as he faces escape and marijuana possession charges.

AROUND THE STATE
On November 5, around 4:15 p.m., a GMC
pickup was driving erratically on I-244 EB and
nearly hit an officer who was en route to another
call. The Officer had to maneuver out of the way
to avoid being struck by the truck.
The officer stopped the driver, later identified as
Juan Diaz-Rodriguez. Diaz-Rodriguez gave the
officer multiple names and birthdates, and he did
not have a license or any identification.
While the officer and a backing officer were taking Diaz-Rodriguez into custody, he began pulling away and attempting to escape. Diaz-Rodriguez kicked the officers and bit one of them.
Diaz-Rodriguez managed to break away and ran into oncoming traffic across
the interstate, which was filled with traffic at the time.
Officers immediately set up a perimeter in the area. Minutes later, officers received a call about Diaz-Rodriguez attempting to break into a house. Officers in
the area quickly responded and took Diaz-Rodriguez into custody.
Juan Diaz-Rodriguez was arrested for Assault & Battery on a Police Officer (2
counts), Obstructing Justice, Resisting Arrest, No License, and DUI/Drugs.
The Officers involved were not severely injured in the arrest. This is an arrest,
not a conviction.
Tulsa Police Department

18 | DECEMBER 2023 GRADY COUNTY Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty
DECEMBER IS NATIONAL IMPAIRED
DRIVING PREVENTION MONTH
Two of the most celebrated dates in December –
Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve – are also among
the most dangerous. In 2018, drunk driving crashes
claimed 108 lives in those two days alone, accounting
for nearly half of total traffic deaths.
That is why Mothers Against Drunk Driving® (MADD)
is teaming up with law enforcement agencies across the
country throughout the month of December, which has
been recognized as National Impaired Driving Prevention Month for the 39th consecutive year.
During December 2018, 839 people died in alcohol-related crashes, according to the National Highway
Traffic Safety Administration. While drunk driving deaths
typically represent around a third of all traffic fatalities,
that increased to nearly 50 percent on Dec. 24 and Dec.
31.
On Dec. 25, 2018, 35 people died in drunk driving crashes.
This is staggering.
The pain caused by one person’s choice to drive impaired is often permanent. Every single
death left a permanent empty seat at the table and turned a time of celebration into tragedy.
And every single death was 100 percent preventable.
We’re asking everyone to take personal responsibility this holiday season by making a plan
for a safe ride home before your celebrations begin. Designate a non-drinking, unimpaired driver.
Take a taxi, a bus, or a train. Use a rideshare app like Uber. If you’re a host, provide an alternative
to your guests, such as festive, non-alcoholic drinks offered by our partner Mocktail Beverages.
You can also show your commitment to drive sober by displaying one of our Tie One On for
Safety red ribbons or magnetic decals on your vehicle, which are available at our local MADD
offices around the country.
Drunk driving crashes increase throughout the month of December as more people travel and
attend events where alcohol is served. That is why every U.S. President since Ronald Reagan
has proclaimed December National Impaired Driving Prevention Month. President Donald Trump
continued in that tradition this month, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to prevent
tragedies by making the decision to drive sober.
The proclamation also remembers victims of impaired driving, offers prayers for grieving families impacted by these tragedies and honors law enforcement who are on the front lines of the
violent, preventable crime of impaired driving.
