We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

INTO THE STREETS
Duncan man Christopher Bloxham, 40,
was arrested after an altercation when he
fired a gun into the street on December 22.
According to the affidavit, Duncan officers
were dispatched to the 1500 block of South
11th Street at approximately 4:13 p.m. When officers arrived, they found
a bullet casing on the west side of the roadway.
The victim said he saw Bloxham drive his truck at a high rate of speed
in front of his house. His child was playing outside, so he yelled at Bloxham to slow down.
Bloxham turned around and drove back. He exited his vehicle and went
to the neighbor’s house to ask about a washer and dryer underneath the
carport. The neighbor said it wasn’t for sale, and Bloxham walked back
toward his truck, still being confrontational. At one point, he gestured
toward his hip, as though he had a gun.
The victim and Bloxham continued to argue until Bloxham pulled out
a gun and pointed it at the victim’s head. Bloxham fired a round into the
street before getting in his truck and leaving the scene.
Officers spoke to Bloxham, who said he had been in the area looking
for some items he could salvage. He told officers when he saw kids playing outside, he drove at an appropriate speed, but the victim yelled at him
to slow down and leave the area.
He saw a washer and dryer he wanted to inquire about, so he stopped.
When he exited his vehicle, the victim continued to yell at him, even as
he was leaving. He was nervous, so he went to his vehicle and pulled out
his firearm.
He told officers that the victim had a large machine gun with him, but
according to witnesses at the scene, the victim didn’t have a firearm at
that point.
Bloxham said that after he saw the victim’s firearm, he pointed his gun
at him. He said both men lowered their guns, then he discharged his
firearm into the ground before leaving. He then drove up the street and
called the police department. He told dispatch he had discharged his
firearm and gave them his location.
Bloxham is being charged with two counts of feloniously pointing a firearm and reckless conduct with a firearm. His bond was set at $25,000,
and he is scheduled to appear in court on March 20, 2024.

Trailer got trashed
Video of a wild police car chase in Missouri involving a driver towing a house has gone viral.
The Excelsior Springs Police Department released the footage in November of Sgt. Kyle Craven in pursuit of an unknown
male motorist driving erratically on Thanksgiving night.
The motorist went 30 mph with the 70-foot long mobile home attached to his
truck that Craven said looked like ‘he was gonna live in it.’ Officers attempted to
deflate his tires by laying stop sticks on the road, but they were not fast enough,
and the driver kept on cruising down US Route 69.
The 35-mile car chase ended after the driver with his mobile home crashed
while attempting to make a sharp left turn at Cameron Road in Mosby. Craven
said he thought the driver was drunk since his driving was so erratic, with his
vehicle veering into the middle of the lanes.
When the driver attempted the left turn he hit a stop sign, giving police the
chance to apprehend him.
Multiple police officers arrested him right in front of the mobile home, and
seemingly had fun doing it - especially the officers who shared high fives after he
was taken away by other cops.
The driver now now faces multiple traffic violation charges, but officers have
not clarified what those charges are.
If he was driving intoxicated, as Craven and other police officers thought, he
could possibly face a DWI (driving while intoxicated) charge, which is a Class B
misdemeanor in Missouri.
However, it can also lead to a maximum of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

A Frederick man was caught last month with
items that Santa would never approve of.
Taylor Lee Kenyon, 27, was charged December 12 with schedule II CDS, poss/sell paraphernalia, and altering firearm serial number in
Tillman County District Court.
According to court documents, Kenyon was caught with meth, a digital
scale, syringes, and glass pipes. Also in his possession was a SCCY 9mm
semi-automatic handgun with the factory serial number removed.
Each misdemeanor charge is punishable by imprisonment of not more than
a year and/or a fine of $1000.
Kenyon pleaded guilty to all charges at his initial appearance and was given
probation and a $500 fine plus court costs.

A Wichita Falls woman accused of killing two
people in a car accident in 2021 was arrested
on December 11.
Officers arrested 56-year-old Brenda Kay Durant on a warrant issued by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
According to reports, Durant left a casino near Terral on September 21,
2021. As she left the casino, she drove in the wrong lanes of traffic, headed
north on U.S. 81. She hit an oncoming vehicle and killed a man and woman,
who were both from Fluvanna, Texas.
After the crash, Durant was transported to a hospital in Waurika to be treated for her injuries. She left, however, against advice from medical professionals.
While investigating the incident, OHP determined that the woman was intoxicated when the wreck occurred.
Durant is being charged with two counts of manslaughter in the first degree. Her bond was set at $50,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court
on February 6, 2024. CODY

FROM THE SHERIFF'S
OFFICE
The Caddo County Sheriff’s Office proudly supports the District Six Drug and Violent Crime Task
Force. There are local investigators on the task
force and their primary responsibility is Caddo
County. The Sheriff’s Office has one full-time investigator assigned to this task force. Their focus is on subjects that distribute
and/or traffic any illegal controlled dangerous substance. In other words, they
go after the drug dealers and the people who supply them. It has been a real
challenge since State Question 780 passed which reclassified drug possession
and some property crimes from felonies to misdemeanors. The decriminalizing
of drugs has put us further behind in the fight and it also decreases our ability to
fight bigger crimes. But these investigators have adapted and continue to stay
busy working long hours on intelligence gathering, surveillance, and covert operations to build felony cases against those who supply drugs to the streets of
Caddo County. They have built great relationships with state and federal agencies to assist them in this endeavor. The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and
Dangerous Drugs has always been a great partner by assisting with manpower,
equipment, and resources. During this past year, the task force has conducted
approximately 88 drug operations and 100 interviews. This has led to well over
50 felony drug charges, and over 25 search warrants. In return, the task force
has taken several pounds of methamphetamine, nearly 1000 fentanyl pills, and
quantities of cocaine off the streets of Caddo County. The task force also seized
more than 16 firearms and over $ 25,000.00 in assets used in these felony drug
crimes. In addition, the task force has assisted in illegal marijuana grow investigations, several overdose investigations, and one murder investigation. If you
would like to report any drug activity you can call the Caddo County Sheriff’s
Office at (405) 247-6666 and ask for a drug investigator or you can submit a
crime tip anonymously online at caddocountysheriff.com.

AROUND THE NATION
How the Grinch stole Christmas
A Clay County, Fla., man is facing charges after
deputies say he fired a gun six times near the Middleburg Christmas Parade.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 4100
block of County Road 218, which is located along the parade route, after hearing several gunshots fired from the area.
When deputies arrived, they found several people yelling at the suspect, identified as Douglas Moore, 43, who was standing at the property line. The people
were demanding to know why Moore shot at them, an arrest report states.
No injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire, according to deputies.
Moore was told to get on the ground but refused, the report states. Moore was
then taken down by deputies after refusing to comply.
Deputies detained four individuals involved. Moore was ultimately placed under arrest following witness interviews and a review of the evidence.
The investigation revealed that Moore, a resident of a nearby property near
the incident location, became agitated by the activities stemming from parade
attendees and discharged a pistol multiple times while entering the property
where the victims were located.
While he was being read his Miranda Rights, deputies observed Moore speaking with slurred speech and had bloodshot and watery eyes, according to the
report.
As a result of the investigation, Moore was charged with six counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm, and using a firearm
while under the influence of alcohol.
“I am thankful for the quick response by the deputies who ran towards the
sound of gunfire to keep our community safe,” Sheriff Michelle Cook said in the
post.

ASHES TO ASHES
A 34-year-old man from Grady County is facing several felony charges after he allegedly
broke into a home early last month and stole
the homeowner’s relative’s ashes.
According to reports, Justin Lawrence Allen
Webb allegedly broke into a home located in Tuttle. He took some valuable
items, including some coins and the cremated ashes of the homeowner’s
family member.
Tuttle officers found the man a few days later and placed him under arrest.
In his possession, they found the valuable coins, a gun, and the cremated
ashes, along with some other stolen items.
Webb is being charged with burglary in the second degree, knowingly receiving or concealing stolen property, unlawful removal of a dead body, possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction, obstructing an officer,
and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. His bond was set at
$25,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on January 30, 2024.
