Lawton Man Pleads Guilty to
Explosives and Gun Charges
Philip James Heath, 51, of Lawton, has
pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession
of both explosives and firearms, announced
Timothy J. Downing, United States Attorney
for the Western District of Oklahoma.
On February 4, 2019, Heath was charged
by complaint with possession of firearms after a felony conviction. According to an affidavit executed by a special agent with the
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and
Explosives, on the morning of January 30,
2019, officers of the Lawton Police Department responded to a 911 call regarding a
domestic disturbance at an apartment. The
woman who made the call allegedly told the
dispatcher Heath had pointed a gun at her
and threatened her. The complaint explained that after the responding officers detained Heath, they saw the buttstock of a rifle in plain view, sticking
out from between a mattress and box springs. It was alleged they ultimately
discovered three pistols and two rifles. Because of items discovered in the
apartment, numerous FBI personnel responded immediately to assess and
mitigate any threat and to ensure public safety.
On April 3, a federal grand jury returned a two-count indictment that alleged
not only illegal possession of firearms, but also illegal possession of explosives, which under the relevant criminal statute includes detonating cord. The
indictment sought forfeiture of five firearms, 1,404 rounds of various kinds of
ammunition, and two lengths of detonating cord.
Heath pleaded guilty to both counts. At sentencing, which will take place
in approximately ninety days, he faces a potential penalty on each count of
ten years in prison, a fine of $250,000, and three years of supervised release.
Heath has been in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service since early
March.

Duncan man Lloyd Dean Vansill, 54, found
himself behind bars after he allegedly kicked
down another man’s apartment door while
searching for his girlfriend on June 21.
The police report states that a Duncan officer
was dispatched to an alley in the 1000 block of
West Cypress at approximately 6:32 a.m. to investigate a man making threats. He met with the
reporting party, who said he had seen two men
fighting at the apartments located in the 600
block of South 10th.
While they were speaking, the officer saw two
men standing in the doorway at one of the apartments, yelling at each other. One of the men was
holding a knife.
Officers detained both men so they could figure out what was going on.
One of the men said Vansill had kicked in the front door of his apartment while
he was sleeping on the couch. He said Vansill started threatening him and
broke an ashtray during the altercation. The man said he didn’t know why
Vansill had kicked in the door and entered his home uninvited.
One of the officers noticed that the door definitely appeared to have been
kicked in. He also saw the broken ashtray in the living room floor.
The victim said he and Vansill started arguing with each other, and the argument continued outside. He didn’t have a phone, so he said he tried to use a
neighbor’s phone to call the police, but he couldn’t because Vansill wouldn’t
leave him alone.
Vansill told police that he was looking for his girlfriend, and he thought she
was in the victim’s apartment.
Officers placed him under arrest and transported him to jail.
The man’s girlfriend did eventually arrive at the scene, however, she was
quickly placed under arrest for outstanding warrants.
Vansill is being charged with burglary in the first degree after former conviction of two or more felonies. His bond was set at $100,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on July 31, 2019.

The daughter he never had
A Frederick woman and her boyfriend were
charged with larceny of a motor vehicle after
they allegedly tried to sell a truck that wasn’t
theirs… she told the buyer that she was the
truck owner’s daughter.
According to the affidavit, Frederick officers
were dispatched to a residence in the 200
block of North 11th on April 20 to investigate
a burglary. Personal items, including numerous
documents, were missing from the home that
belonged to a man who was incarcerated in
another state.
On May 3, an officer was dispatched back to
the residence to speak with the victim’s family
member. She said she saw a wrecker at the
victim’s home picking up his wrecked black
truck. When she approached the wrecker operator, he advised her that he bought the vehicle from the owner’s daughter.
It wasn’t until after the man left that the woman realized the victim didn’t have a daughter,
so she called the police.
An officer found the wrecker at a residence in
the 200 block of South 15th. He made contact
with the wrecker driver and 28-year-old Anthony Turby. The wrecker driver told the officer
he bought the vehicle for $200 from a woman
who lived at the residence, and Turby helped
him pick up the truck. Turby told him he had a
signed and notarized title for the vehicle, but he decided to also get a bill
of sale.
Turby was in the process of filling out the bill of sale, but he scratched out
his name when the officer asked him about it. He said he was only helping
out his girlfriend, “Lisa.” He refused to tell the officer her last name, but the
officer figured out the woman was 34-year-old Tuyann Dawn Longstreet.
Turby told the officer his girlfriend wasn’t home, and he refused to let
them search the house.
Officers later went back to Turby’s residence to follow up on the case.
Turby wasn’t home, because he was in jail. Another man at the residence,
who said he was taking care of the home while Turby served his time, gave
officers permission to search the house. They found Longstreet hiding under some clothes in a closet.
A search warrant was conducted on the property, and several stolen
items were seized by officers.
Both Longstreet and Turby are being charged with larceny of a motor
vehicle. Their bonds were set at $5,000.
Longstreet is scheduled to appear in court on July 26, 2019.

Man allegedly hiding drugs in butt accidentally shoots himself in testicles
A bungling felon from Washington state
made a series of blunders when he shot
himself in the testicles and tried to hide the
weapon — all while storing drugs in his anus,
according to a report.
Cameron Jeffrey Wilson, 27, was carrying a pistol in his front pocket while in his
Cashmere, Wash., apartment on April 5
when the firearm accidentally discharged and
pierced his groin and thigh, according to the
Wenatchee World News.
Wilson, who is a 13-time convicted felon,
told his girlfriend to dispose of the weapon
before heading to the hospital, the paper said.
When the ex-con finally went to the hospital, a balloon of marijuana slipped out of his anus while a doctor was operating on the gunshot wound, court records show.
Cops also arrived at the hospital when alerted of the gunshot wound and
searched Wilson’s car where they discovered a bag of meth in the bloodstained jeans he was wearing when he shot himself.
The officers issued an arrest warrant for Wilson and he turned himself in to
police on April 18.
As he was being processed at the Chelan County Regional Justice Center,
Wilson was strip-searched and another balloon of marijuana slipped from his
anus, the paper said.
While in jail, Wilson made a number of calls to his girlfriend and asked her
not to cooperate with investigators working on his case. Authorities were listening in on the calls.
The convicted felon was charged with possession of a firearm, unlawful
possession of meth, possession of a controlled substance in a correctional
facility, and four counts of tampering with a witness.
Wilson was being held on $110,000 bail and is due in court on June 18.

A South Carolina man was caught rubbing buttered toast all over his neighbor’s SUV
window. Seems like a foolproof plan, how did he get caught? According to MSN, He
just dropped the toast a few feet away from the car and made his departure, causing
a nearby woman to notice and call the police. The police charged the now hungry man
with “malicious damage to property” and estimated the cost of damage to be about $1.
What’s the hottest you’ve ever been? Temperature-wise of course, because if it was
in physical terms, we all know we were the hottest at our 5th grade, bowl-cut, chubs
stage. But really, to what extent would you go to cool off?
Hopefully not so far you’d get arrested, but this is exactly what a group of four young
men in Germany did. On a hot day, they decided to make their own pool in a car.
In a BMW no less. A policeman noticed a very strange convertible driving down the
road. Upon closer viewing, it appeared that the bathing-suit clad men were splashing
around in the water-filled car, clearly intoxicated. Though there was no law against driving around with a pool in someone’s car, they were probably charged for driving without
a permit. Talk about hot water.
What do you guys think about sausage? I suppose it’s better than a hot dog, which
in turn is better than bologna (which is basically giant hot dog slices?). And no matter
what, it has to be better than Lunchables *shudder*.
No matter your opinion, sausage was a huge disappointment for this Phoenix man.
He attempted to rob two large businesses, first an Ace Hardware and then a Safeway.
He put his hand under his shirt to look like a gun, but the cashier was not fooled and
calmly said “no” to his request for money. Equally unsuccessful was his attempt to rob
a Safeway, which resulted in him being escorted out of the building. He waited a few
minutes before returning into the store to snag a small breakfast sausage and was
therefore charged with shoplifting. I guess all that failing worked up an appetite.
Sometimes people don’t want their babies. Throughout history, these people have
found convenient ways to get rid of them. In the middle ages, a popular solution was
to leave a swaddled infant on the doorstep of a misfortunate new parent. Worse for the
child, another option was an orphanage. In later times, parents could even put their kid
in the circus for life. The last one, I’m actually jealous of.
It might not have been this Florida woman’s goal to give away her child, but that’s
sure what it looked like. She had gone shopping at Dillard’s, and tried to shoplift $260
worth of clothing using her baby stroller. When a police officer followed her out to her
car, she flipped out and eventually threw her baby in its little carseat at him. The baby
was not injured. The shoplifter received three charges, including “resisting a police officer without violence”. Um. What would be violent, throwing her entire family?

Domestic violence repeat offender
sentenced to federal prison
Michael Shane McConnell, 48, of Chickasha, has been sentenced to federal prison for
three years after a lengthy pattern of domestic violence.
On July 19, 2018, the Chickasha Police
Department responded to a 911 call from a
woman claiming McConnell, the caller’s estranged husband, followed her into her driveway, pulled a gun, and threatened to kill her
and himself. During the encounter, McConnell
started choking her and slammed her head
and face into the dashboard of a car.
McConnell left before police arrived, but
was later located on a county road where he
was threatening to shoot himself.
A Grady County Judge had previously issued two final VPOs against McConnell until April 2, 2023. McConnell was indicted on August 21, 2018. He
pled guilty on October 5, 2018.
At McConnell’s sentencing hearing, United States District Judge Timothy
DeGiusti considered McConnell’s history of domestic violence, including repeated threats of violence and actual violence against his wife over a two-year
time period, once shooting their bed with a shotgun, culminating in a March
2018 incident in which he pointed a firearm at his wife and said he was going
to kill her.
The Grady County court issued the VPOs on April 2, 2018, protecting his
wife and her daughters after a hearing about the March 2018 incident.
Judge DeGiusti considered all of this information, in addition to McConnell’s
illegal possession of a firearm while being subject to an active VPO, and ordered McConnell to serve 36 months in federal prison, followed by three years
of supervised release.

a part of the problem
A Cement police officer found himself on
the other side of the law after he allegedly solicited sexual acts from a minor.
According to reports, 40-year-old Stacy
Don Burger parked his vehicle near the
14-year-old’s home, then called her and
asked her if he could stop by. Apparently,
Burger knew the victim well – he had acted
as a role model and father figure to the victim.
When Burger arrived at the victim’s home,
he pulled into an alleyway behind the house.
The victim approached the man’s car, and
Burger allegedly offered the victim some cash
in exchange for oral sex. The victim refused,
so Burger asked her if any of the her friends
would be interested in giving oral sex in exchange for money.
While Burger was not in his police uniform at the time, he did have his gun
on him.
Burger later contacted the victim on Facebook and through text messages
and asked the victim not to “rat” him out. He allegedly reminded the victim
that he offered a lot of money and he didn’t think about the victim’s age.
When Chickasha officers spoke to the man, Burger admitted to the accusations. He told police that he did offer the victim money in exchange for
oral sex. He also confessed to contacting a second juvenile with the same
proposition.
While investigating the incident, officers discovered the man may have
committed similar crimes before.
Burger is being charged with soliciting child prostitution. His bond was set
at $100,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on August 7, 2019.
