A Lawton man is being charged with murder after another man allegedly overdosed on drugs on
June 10.
According to reports, Tyler Dominique Allen,
the victim, and another person snorted Roxy, an
opioid painkiller, at a Lawton motel that Friday
evening. They decided to leave the motel and the
victim climbed in the backseat of the vehicle. At
some point, he started to nod off. He also made
gasping noises.
Allen and the other person reportedly discussed
taking the victim to the hospital to be checked
out. They decided not to, since neither one of
them had driver’s licenses.
The victim was found in a truck on Northwest 18th on the afternoon of
June 14.
Allen is being charged with murder in the second degree and unlawful
possession of controlled drug with intent to distribute. His bond was set at
$200,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on September 6, 2022.

OSBI ARRESTS GARVIN COUNTY COUPLE ON
CHILD NEGLECT CHARGES
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation
(OSBI) arrested a mom and her boyfriend for
child neglect. Jourdan Jeanae Driskell, 32, and
her live-in boyfriend Bruce Andrews, 48, were arrested June 7 at the Garvin County Courthouse
in Pauls Valley. Both face one charge of Child
Neglect, which is a felony.
The OSBI was requested by the Garvin County
Sheriff’s Office on May 24, 2022 to investigate
allegations of child sexual abuse of a five-yearold girl. The child primarily lives with Driskell and
Andrews near Stratford. She recently reported to
her father that she frequently saw Andrews naked and saw his genitals. The OSBI investigation
revealed that the child watched Andrews touch
himself and he allowed her to touch his genitals. Driskill was present when these incidents
occurred. Both Andrews and Driskill allowed the
child to draw on their buttocks.
Driskell and Andrews bonded out an hour after
being booked into the Garvin County Jail.
The Pauls Valley Police Department and Garvin
County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation.

OBN AND BARTLESVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT SHUT DOWN LARGESCALE METH TRAFFICKING ORGANIZATION
The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) and the Bartlesville Police
Department have shut down a large methamphetamine trafficking organization in northeast Oklahoma. OBN Spokesman Mark Woodward says
Agents and Officers served 13 Arrest Warrants just after 7:00 a.m. on
May 24 on individuals tied to a joint investigation launched by OBN and
Bartlesville Police Department in the fall of 2021. Woodward says this
organization is responsible for unloading significant quantities of methamphetamine onto the streets.
“During the course of the investigation, we found this organization shipping anywhere from 10 to 25 pounds of meth into northeastern Oklahoma
from the west coast on a weekly basis. Those shipments would then be
moved onto the streets in Washington County, Nowata County and parts
of Kansas.” ---OBN Spokesman Mark Woodward
Throughout the investigation, Woodward says Agents have seized more
than 35 pounds of meth and nearly 100 firearms associated with this organization. Woodward says a total of 13 individuals were arrested. Most
of the defendants were transported to the Washington County Jail where
they face a variety of charges including trafficking methamphetamine.
OBN Director Donnie Anderson says these types of joint investigations
are critical in eliminating drug threats in rural Oklahoma.
“Meth continues to be the top killer when it comes to drug-related deaths
in our state. I am grateful to our local law enforcement partners who work
tirelessly along-side our Agents every day to identify and dismantle these
trafficking organizations that destroy lives and families.” OBN Director
Donnie Anderson
Assisting with Arrest Warrants were Agents and Officers from OBN,
Bartlesville Police Department, Washington County Sheriff’s Department,
Nowata County Sheriff’s Department, The District 11 Drug Task Force and
the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.

POTTY MOUTH
An 18-year-old Comanche man was put
behind bars after he allegedly threatened his
girlfriend and his girlfriend’s mom during an
incident on June 13.
According to the police report, a Comanche officer was dispatched to a residence in
the 400 block of South Fifth at approximately 10:15 a.m. to investigate a man beating
and kicking on a door. The suspect was also
threatening to kill people inside the house.
When the officer arrived at the scene, he
saw a man he recognized as Cody Bryan
Myers. Myers told the officer that he was
just trying to get a friend’s dog collar out of
the house, but his girlfriend and her mom
wouldn’t let him in. He also said he wanted to
apologize to the women, because he had been cussing at them and calling
them names.
While the officer was speaking to the man, he noticed some clothes and
shoes on the front porch. Myers said the items belonged to him.
The officer spoke to the girlfriend and her mom, who both said Myers kicked
the front door. He also said things such as, “Open the door, you f—--- b—---,
or you will regret it,” and “If you don’t open the door, I will f— you both up.”
He also sent his girlfriend threatening text and voicemail messages. He
threatened to put a death wish on her brother, who is currently in jail. He also
said he would make her mom and dad die a slow painful death.
This wasn’t the first time Myers had threatened his girlfriend. On June 11,
he allegedly threatened to hit her with a tire iron.
Myers is being charged with attempted burglary in the first degree. His
bond was set at $50,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on August
17, 2022.

NO HOMES ARE SAFE FROM GOMES
Charges have been filed in Grady County
against a contractor accused of defrauding
Oklahomans of thousands of dollars for home
repair work he never completed.
Norman “Buddy” Gomes, 40, who owned
BNV Construction, is accused of requesting
money up front from victims for home repair
projects he never started. Investigators say
Gomes would give various excuses as to why
work had not begun, eventually stopped all
communication with the victims, and refused
to return their money.
“Hiring a contractor and paying for construction can be a tricky process for homeowners, and scammers are continually looking for ways to take advantage of that confusion,” said Attorney General O’Connor. “Anyone who believes this contractor
or any other has misled them in any way should contact my Consumer Protection Unit immediately. My office always stands ready to hold those accountable who prey on Oklahomans.”
Gomes is charged with five counts of Embezzlement and one count of
Pattern of Criminal Offenses. Authorities say, in all, Gomes stole more than
$34,000 from five victims.
If convicted, Gomes faces up to 23 years in prison and up to $46,000 in
fines, along with restitution owed to the victims.
Attorney General O’Connor encourages consumers who believe they have
been a victim of contractor fraud to file a complaint by calling the Consumer
Protection Unit at 1-833-681-1895.
For more tips on how to avoid contractor fraud, visit the attorney general’s
website at http://www.oag.ok.gov/.

THREE INDICTED IN MASSIVE SOFTWARE
PIRACY SCHEME
On June 28, a court in the Western District of Oklahoma unsealed an indictment charging three individuals with
violating federal wire fraud and money laundering statutes
in connection with an operation to sell over $88 million of
stolen Avaya Direct International (ADI) software licenses,
which were used to unlock features of a popular telephone
system used by thousands of companies around the globe.
The grand jury charged the following defendants with
conspiracy to commit wire fraud and 13 counts of wire
fraud: Raymond Bradley Pearce aka Brad Pearce, 46, of
Tuttle, Oklahoma; Dusti O. Pearce, 44, of Tuttle, Oklahoma;
and Jason M. Hines aka Joe Brown, aka Chad Johnson,
aka Justin Albaum, 42, of Caldwell, New Jersey. In addition, the grand jury charged both Brad Pearce and Dusti
Pearce with one count of conspiracy to commit money
laundering and money laundering.
According to the indictment, Avaya Holdings Corporation, a multinational business communications company headquartered in California, sold a
product called IP Office, a telephone system used by many midsize and small businesses in
the United States and abroad. To enable additional functionality of IP Office such as voicemail
or more telephones, customers had to purchase software licenses – which Avaya generated
– from an authorized Avaya distributor or reseller. Avaya used software license keys to control
access to Avaya’s copyright-protected software and to ensure that only customers who paid
for the software could use it. In addition, Avaya required that each software license on an IP
Office system be associated with the system’s Avaya Secure Digital (SD) card – a small flash
memory card with a unique serial number that plugged into the IP Office manager computer
– which the end user had to keep in its possession in order to use the licenses.
According to the indictment, Brad Pearce, a long-time customer service employee at Avaya, allegedly used his system administrator privileges to generate tens of millions of dollars of
ADI software license keys that he sold to Hines and other customers, who in turn sold them
to resellers and end users around the globe. The retail value of each Avaya software license
ranged from under $100 to thousands of dollars.
As set forth in the indictment, Brad Pearce also allegedly employed his system administrator privileges to hijack the accounts of former Avaya employees to generate additional ADI
software license keys. Furthermore, he allegedly used these privileges to alter information
about the accounts to conceal the fact that he was generating ADI license keys, preventing
Avaya from discovering the fraud scheme for many years. Brad Pearce’s wife, Dusti Pearce,
is alleged to have handled accounting and helped run the financial side of the illegal business.
Hines operated Direct Business Services International (DBSI), a de-authorized Avaya reseller,
in New Jersey. He allegedly bought software licenses from the Pearces under his own name
and also using an alias, Joe Brown. Hines was the Pearces’ largest customer and significantly influenced how the scheme operated. Hines also received help from Brad Pearce to resell
the stolen software licenses. Hines was allegedly one of the biggest users of the ADI license
system in the world.
According to the indictment, the Pearces and Hines’ operation not only prevented Avaya from making any money on its stolen intellectual property but also undercut the global
market in Avaya ADI software licenses because the Pearces and Hines were selling licenses
for significantly below the wholesale price. In fact, Brad Pearce allegedly told Hines that the
Pearces’ customers could not obtain same-day ADI software licenses from anyone else for
anything even close to the Pearces’ prices, and Hines suggested that he and Brad Pearce
work together to “corner” the market in licenses. Altogether, the Pearces and Hines allegedly
reaped millions of dollars from the fraud. Moreover, to hide the nature and source of the money, the Pearces allegedly funneled their illegal gains through a PayPal account created under
a false name to multiple bank accounts, and then transferred the money to numerous other
investment and bank accounts. They also allegedly purchased large quantities of gold bullion
and other valuable items. The indictment lists numerous assets subject to forfeiture including
cash, gold, silver, collectible coins, cryptocurrency, and real property.

VERDEN MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO FEDERAL
FIREARM AND AMMUNITION CHARGES
Last month, Stephen Lee Martin, 31, of
Verden, entered a plea of guilty on federal
charges of being a felon illegally in possession of a firearm and ammunition, announced
U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.
According to an affidavit filed in support of
the criminal complaint, Verden Police Department (VPD) officers responded to a domestic
call at Martin’s residence on March 20, 2022,
but he was not there. The affidavit further
indicates that, several hours later, VPD encountered Martin and observed blood on his
shorts and observed injuries on the face and
neck of a female who was present during the
encounter. According to the affidavit, earlier
that day, Martin had discharged a shotgun
near the victim’s head and had forced her
into his truck with the use of the shotgun. Martin then held the victim in the
truck against her will before he eventually attempted to hide the shotgun and
ammunition in a ditch, where law enforcement later found them.
Federal law prohibits convicted felons from possessing firearms or ammunition. Public records indicate that Martin had prior felony convictions for Aggravated Attempt to Elude a Police Officer, Malicious Injury and Destruction of
Property, and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in Oklahoma
County District Court in November, 2013.
On June 8, 2022, a federal grand jury returned a three-count indictment
against Martin. Count 1 charged him with being a felon in illegal possession
of a firearm, Count 2 charged him with kidnapping, and Count 3 charged him
being a felon in possession of ammunition. Last week, Martin entered pleas
of guilty to Counts 1 and 3 of the indictment. Sentencing will take place in
approximately 90 days. At sentencing, Martin faces on each count a maximum penalty of 10 years of imprisonment, three years of supervised release,
and a $250,000 fine. Martin has been in federal custody since April 11, 2022.
