the university. An individual who was setting traps
on the land near 38th and Gore, which is owned
by the university but not part of the campus, found a skull yesterday afternoon. Additional remains and clothing have been discovered that same
day.
The medical examiner will make a final determination on cause and manner of death.
The investigation remains open.

FALSE NEGOTIABLE PAPER
4 | MARCH 2021 Presumed Innocent Until Proven Guilty COMANCHE COUNTY
We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.
Thank you and God Bless

A 40-year-old Lawton woman was locked up after
police found nearly $4,000 of stolen merchandise in
her vehicle during a traffic stop on February 24.
According to reports, a Lawton officer stopped
Emily Marie Showalter’s vehicle after noticing that
the woman’s tag expired in 2018. During the traffic stop, the officer conducted an inventory of the
vehicle.
The officer found multiple items that were still
in their original packaging. In the truck, the officer
found a large number of items that still had price
tags attached to them.
Showalter allegedly admitted to shoplifting from multiple retailers. She
said she had more stolen items in her purse.
When officers checked her purse, they found some makeup and beauty
items that had the tags scratched off.
Showalter was placed under arrest and transported to jail.
Showalter is being charged with grand larceny, failure to pay taxes due
to state and failure to maintain insurance or security. Her bond was set at
$15,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on May 17, 2021.

Enid Police Department Internet Crime
Against Children detectives arrested a
40-year-old Enid man on January 6 on more
than 20 complaints of manufacturing, possession and distributing child pornography
and lewd molestation.
Jason Wallis was booked after an interview
with Sgt. Aaron Barber. Wallis is facing complaints of possession of child pornography,
six counts of distribution of child pornography, six counts of manufacturing child pornography, 18 counts of lewd molestation, a
count of rape by instrumentation and a count
of violating Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act.
On Dec. 31, 2020, Barber was contacted
by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in reference to a
man in Enid uploading images of child pornography to Tumblr. The investigation led Barber to Wallis, who came to the station for an interview.
During the interview, Wallis admitted to uploading the image in question to
Tumblr and later showed Barber multiple images of child pornography he had
on his cellphone. Subsequently in the interview, Wallis admitted to possessing, distributing and manufacturing child pornography, both still images and
videos.
Wallis also admitted to the sexual abuse of three children, ranging in age
from 7 months old to 5 years old. He told Barber he typically targeted those
ages 10 to 12 when viewing child pornography but also viewed images with
children ages 4 to 7.
The investigation into Wallis is ongoing. We believe there are other individuals involved and further arrests could be made.

March is National Youth Violence
Prevention Month
The National Association of Students
Against Violence Everywhere is a nonprofit
aiming to provide safer environments for
our youth. Its mission is to decrease the
potential for violence in our schools and
communities by promoting meaningful student involvement, education and service
opportunities.
SAVE’s Vision: Schools and communities will be safer and more secure, free of
fear and conducive to learning as a result of
students being actively involved in meaningful violence prevention efforts.
How It Got Started: SAVE was started by students in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1989 after the tragic death of a classmate who was trying to break up a
fight at an off-campus party. A group of students who did not want this death
to be “just another statistic” took action and created a violence prevention
program.
Chapters: SAVE has evolved into a national association with chapters in
elementary, middle and high schools as well as at colleges and community organizations across the country. Today, there are more than 200,000 students
involved nationwide.
Activities: Student members take the lead in planning chapter activities by
using the three SAVE Essential Elements: conducting crime prevention activities, conducting conflict management activities and providing meaningful service through projects in schools and communities. SAVE chapters also plan
safety rallies and safety awareness campaigns, engage in peer mentoring to
younger students, and conduct fun and educational meetings.

STONE COLD
Marlow woman Karen Jean Pritchard, 49, is facing a
murder charge and more than 100 charges of cruelty to
animals after she allegedly killed a woman in early February.
According to the affidavit, a man went to the Stephen’s
County Sheriff’s Department on February 12 to report that
his friend, identified as Pritchard, told him that she killed a
woman and the body was still at her residence. Deputies
went to the woman’s home, where they found hundreds
of dogs in cages and unsafe conditions.
A search warrant was then issued for the woman’s
property.
Investigators found a blue metal shipping container located northeast of the woman’s residence. They removed
the padlock and opened the door, where they found the deceased woman wrapped
up in a tarp.
Pritchard agreed to speak with investigators. She told them that she and the victim
had been arguing, because the victim wasn’t taking care of the dogs. She told the
victim that she was fired and needed to leave.
The woman started fighting. The victim left, but she returned the next day. Pritchard
said the victim was acting “psychotic,” and they started arguing again. Pritchard again
told the victim to leave. She told her to get in the bed of the truck, because she stunk.
She said she drove the victim to the gate of the property, but the victim refused to get
out of the truck. She started hitting herself in the head with a pipe.
Pritchard said she then drove back to the house. She told police, “I flipped her out
of the back of my truck onto the ground.”
At some point, she said the victim fell to the ground and started shaking. She and a
friend moved the woman to the house.
The heat wasn’t working, and the temperature was 19 degrees. Pritchard didn’t
check on the woman, because she said she was busy and pissed off. When she finally
checked on the victim, she said she freaked out and tried to wake the woman up. That
didn’t work, so she put the victim in the container.
Pritchard is being charged with murder in the second degree and 112 counts of
cruelty to animals. Her bond was set at $1M, and she is scheduled to appear in court
on April 14, 2021.

DEMON RELEASED
A triple murder suspect allegedly told police that he
cut out the heart of one of his victims, and cooked it
and served it to his relatives. He then attacked his family members as well.
According to reports, Chickasha police were dispatched to a home in the 200 block of W. Minnesota
Avenue after someone called 911 and hung up the
phone. When officers arrived, they heard someone inside the residence calling for help.
Officers entered the home and found four people – a
67-year-old man and his four-year-old grandchild were
deceased in the home.
The man’s wife was severely injured and transported
to the hospital.
Another man, 42-year-old Lawrence Paul Anderson,
was also inside the residence. He was identified as the suspect and was placed under
arrest.
A few days later, Anderson admitted to killing another victim. He said he broke into a
woman’s home on February 9 and fatally stabbed the 41-year-old woman and cut out
her heart. He then took her heart across the street to his aunt and uncle’s house in the
200 block of West Minnesota. After cooking the heart with some potatoes, Lawrence
tried to force his aunt and uncle to eat it to “release the demons.”
At some point, Lawrence attacked the couple, killing his uncle and severely injuring
his aunt. He also allegedly murdered the couple’s 4-year-old granddaughter.
Police confiscated cooking items that Anderson allegedly used to cook the woman’s heart, including a pan that still had some food inside of it.
This isn’t Anderson’s first time in jail. The man is a repeat offender who was just
released from prison in January. He was serving a 20-year prison sentence for drugs
and other related crimes.
Governor Kevin Stitt commuted the sentence to just nine years – Anderson was
released after serving three years.
Anderson is being charged with three counts of murder in the first degree with deliberate intent, assault, and battery with a deadly weapon and maiming. He is being held
without bond and is scheduled to appear in court on April 14, 2021.
