A 35-year-old Lawton man is facing charges of
murder in the second degree following a Comanche

the motorcyclist.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m., the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses told investigators that Beatty smelled like alcohol.
)eatt` agreed to a standardiaed field soIriet` test and a portaIle Ireath
test. Reports state that he failed both. The breath test revealed that he was
intoxicated at four times the legal limit.
Beatty is being changed with murder in the second degree, driving with
license canceled/suspended/revoked, failure to maintain insurance or security, and failure to pay taxes due to state. His bond was set at $200,000,
and he is scheduled to appear in court on January 3, 2023.

A 44-year-old Comanche woman was accused of breaking into her mother-in-law’s RV
and stealing her jewelry before selling it to a
local shop.
According to the police report, a woman
contacted a Stephens County deputy on
September 22 and advised that her daughter-in-law, Debra Ann Crowell, went into her
RV and stole some of her jewelry. She said
Crowell’s friend told her daughter that Crowell
took the jewelry. The woman told the deputy
she wasn’t sure when the jewelry was stolen. Her daughter also said that Crowell sold
some of the jewelry to a local jewelry store.
She went to the store the day before and
bought some of her earrings back.
The deputy went to the jewelry store to ask about the stolen jewelry. An
employee confirmed that Crowell had sold him some jewelry.
On September 23, the deputy met with the victim and Crowell’s friend. The
friend said Crowell asked if she wanted to hang out and go to the casino.
Crowell showed her a ring and said she needed to go to the jewelry store to
sell it. She told the deputy Crowell said she took it from her ex mother-in-law.
Crowell explained that she went to the RV to look for some coins in a safe.
>hen she didn’t find any coins, she took the jewelry.
The deputy spoke to Crowell later that day. When he told her she was being
accused of stealing jewelry from the victim’s RV, she started talking about the
coins. She said she went to the RV to get some coins, but they weren’t there.
Crowell is being charged with burglary in the first degree and obtaining
cash or merchandise by bogus check/false pretenses. Her bond was set at
$10,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on December 14, 2022.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we

71-year-old Troy Radford is being charged with
shooting with intent to kill after he allegedly shot a
man in the face on September 8.
According to reports, the victim told police he
was at his dad’s house working on a boat with
his friend. At some point, he saw Radford standing across the street. Radford put his hand in the
shape of a gun and pretended to fire. The victim
said he told the man, “It’d work better if you had
a real one.”
Radford returned later that day and allegedly
shot the victim in the face, point blank.
The man then fired several more rounds as the
victim and his friend took cover and tried to run
away.
Radford is being charged with shooting with intent to kill. His bond was
set at $75,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on February 10,
2023.

AROUND THE STATE
A multi-agency investigation has resulted in one of the largest methamphetamine seizures in state history. Mark Woodward, Spokesman for
the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, says an investigation began in July
targeting a drug trafficking organiaation moving large quantities of meth
from Mexico into central and southern Oklahoma.
“The investigation led to Search Warrants being served this week at several locations where shipments of meth were being stored upon arrival in
Oklahoma.” ---Mark Woodward, OBN Spokesman
Woodward says the Search Warrants resulted in the seizure of 589
pounds of meth with a street value of nearly $3 million. Woodward says
this is one of the largest meth seizures in state history. Additionally, four
firearms were seiaed, and five individuals have been arrested. >oodward
says more arrests are expected as this investigation remains ongoing.
“;he significance of this seiaure cannot be overstated as meth continues
to kill more Oklahomans than any other drug. This seizure of nearly 270
kilos of meth no doubt saved countless lives throughout our state.” ---
OBN Director Donnie Anderson
Agencies assisting in the investigation include the Oklahoma Bureau of
Narcotics, the Ardmore Police Department, the US Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
