Young
34-year-old Chourse Deantray Young tried to
run from police during an attempted traffic stop
on March 14.
The wanted Enid man didn’t make it very far.
According to the affidavit, an Enid officer was
traveling north on Van Buren approaching
Broadway at approximately 7:35 p.m. when he
saw Young driving southbound on Van Buren.
Knowing the man had outstanding warrants
through Major and Woods County, the officer
did a quick u-turn and got behind the vehicle in
the 400 block of S. Van Buren. He asked dispatch to send another unit, since Young was known to run from the
police.
How right he was.
The officer initiated his lights, and Young whipped his car into a
parking lot south of the Trails Motel. The driver’s side door flew
open, and Young jumped out of the vehicle and took off running south
on Jackson.
The officer yelled at him to stop, but of course he didn’t, and just kept
on going.
The pursuit continued until another officer saw the suspect run into a
shed of a residence in the 700 block of W. York. He tried to get out of
the shed, but officers swooped in and placed him under arrest.
The owner of the shed told police she wanted to press charges on the
man.
Young is being charged with attempted escape from arrest or detention and breaking and entering dwelling without permission. He was
released on a $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on
March 24, 2016.
Escape if futile

Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt filed charges
against a Mustang resident for setting up a scheme to obtain
opioids from her place of employment.
Cheryl Ann Wallace, 46, while working as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Warr Acres Nursing Home, allegedly placed
several orders for Hydrocodone, claiming they were for residents of the nursing home. Wallace ordered these controlled
dangerous substances without doctors’ orders. Wallace is
also alleged to have placed several false orders for drugs using another nurse’s name. Once the drugs were delivered,
Wallace would remove the drugs from the nursing home diverting them for her own personal use.
Wallace is charged with seven counts of Obtaining a Controlled Dangerous Substance
by Fraud, Deceit, Misrepresentation or Subterfuge and one count of False Personation
of Another. If convicted, Wallace could face up to 80 years in prison and fines of up to
$70,000.

april is National Abuse
Prevention Month
Sexual abuse affects both boys and girls
of all ages, in all kinds of neighborhoods
and communities. Children are more likely to be sexually abused by someone they
know and trust than by a stranger. Abusers
do not always use physical force. Many use
games, gifts, lies, or threats to engage children and to keep them from telling anyone
what has happened.
Signs of Possible Sexual Abuse
The following may indicate sexual abuse
and should not be ignored:
• Unexplained pain, itching, redness, or
bleeding in the genital area
• Increased nightmares or bedwetting
• Withdrawn behavior or appearing to be in a trance
• Angry outbursts or sudden mood swings
• Loss of appetite or difficulty swallowing
• Anxiety or depression
• Sudden, unexplained avoidance of certain people or places
• Sexual knowledge, language, or behavior that is unusual for the child’s age
For more information, contact Prevent Child Abuse America, the National
Child Traumatic Stress Network, the Enough Abuse Campaign, and Stop It Now.
At https://www.childwelfare.gov/topics/preventing/promoting/parenting, or call
800.394.3366.

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

A police officer found Perry man James E.
Badon walking around with a woman he
wasn’t supposed to be with on March 28.
The 46-year-old also had some pills and
marijuana.
According to the affidavit, a Perry officer
was on patrol in the 600 block of Cedar
when he saw Badon walking with a woman
shortly after 11 p.m. Knowing the woman
had a protective order against the man, the
officer stopped to see what was going on.
He asked the woman if she had an order of
protection against Badon. She said it had
been terminated by the courts.
Badon told the officer he went to court on March 24, and the protective
order was extended until May 2016.
The officer asked the woman if she went to court on the same day; she
said no.
While talking to the couple, the officer was advised the woman still had a
protective order against Badon, and he was prohibited from attempting or
having any contact with the woman.
The officer placed Badon under arrest and took him to jail.
Before walking into the Noble County Jail, Badon told the officer he had
some Tylenol in his cigarette box, and he didn’t have a prescription for
them. The officer found the “Tylenol” -- ‘cept it wasn’t Tylenol.
The pills were later identified as a schedule III drugs.
During booking, the officer noticed the man moving around a green stem
in his mouth. He asked Badon what it was.
Badon replied, “I am not going to lie to you, sir. It’s a marijuana stem.”
Just like the man said, the stem tested positive for weed.
Badon is being charged with violating protective order, bringing contraband into jail or penal institution and possession of controlled dangerous
substance. His bond was set at $500, and he is scheduled to appear in
court on May 12, 2016.

Hennessey man Damon Joseph Dean, 25,
was arrested on March 7 after he allegedly
attacked a couple with a baseball bat while
they were fighting with his girlfriend.
According to the affidavit, a Hennessey
officer was dispatched to a residence in the
1100 block of S. Main at approximately 10
p.m. due to a woman who had been assaulted. When he arrived, a woman at the residence told him another woman had come to
her house and punched her.
Knowing the woman dated Dean, the officer
asked her where he was. She said he wasn’t
there.
The officer was advised that the others involved in the incident were at
a convenience store. He went to the location and made contact with a
couple, who said Dean hit them with a baseball bat.
The officer took the couple back to the scene of the crime. He found
Dean sitting in the front seat of a vehicle. The officer ordered him out of
the vehicle and asked him what happened.
Dean said his girlfriend was receiving threatening text messages, and the
woman sending them came to the house. He saw that they were fighting,
so he stepped outside with a baseball bat in an attempt to break it up. The
woman’s husband joined in on the altercation, and Dean said he hit him
too.
All four parties had injuries from the fight.
The female victim told the officer she was in the hospital when she
started receiving text messages that her husband was hitting her. When
she was released, she went to confront the sender. She said the woman
grabbed her broken arm, so she punched her. They started fighting, and
Dean walked out of the house with a baseball bat and hit her several
times.
Her husband tried to come to her rescue, but Dean hit him with the bat
also. The husband told the officer the same story.
Dean is being charged with two counts of assault and battery with a
dangerous weapon. His bond was set at $5,000, and she is scheduled to
appear in court on April 28, 2016.

Howington
Major County inmate Kevin Blake Howington, 24, allegedly beat up another inmate on
March 12, allegedly because the man was being too loud.
Or the man was talking s--- about him -- who
knows?
Whatever the case, the Cleo Springs man probably ain’t getting out of jail any time soon!
According to the police report, a Major County
deputy was advised that two inmates were
fighting in the bullpen at approximately 8:45
a.m. He looked at security footage and saw
Howington holding another inmate’s T-shirt.
The deputy went to the scene and told the men
to stop. Howington let go of the victim.
The victim’s shirt and a white undershirt were both torn near the collar. He told the deputy he was putting VHS tapes away in a locker when
Howington told him he was being too loud. The victim said he had told
the victim he was being too loud the night before.
The situation escalated, and the victim said the men started yelling at each
other. Howington accused the victim of “talking s--- about him.” He then
reached through the bars and grabbed the victim’s shirt, ripping the clothing.
The deputy later viewed security footage of the incident. He watched as
Howington started arguing with the victim. During the argument, the man
then reached through the cell bars and grabbed the victim’s shirt.
Howington is being charged with assault and battery, and malicious injury
to property under $1,000. His bond was set at $5,000, and he is scheduled
to appear in court on April 14, 2016.
Can we have some
peace up in here?

Registered Sex Offenders for The Area
FACT:
Offenders could stop their sexually violent
behavior on their own if they wanted to.
False. Wanting to change is usually not enough to
be able to change the patterns that lead to sexual
offenses. To create the motivation to change, some
offenders need a variety of treatment and corrective
interventions, and for others learning how to make
the change in their own behavioral cycle of abuse is
more effective.
The sex offenders page is not a complete listing of all offenders in these counties; we will
be publishing more in each month’s issue.
