I WANNA BE A COWGIRL
The Saline (KANSAS) County
Sheriff’s Office was inolved in a
bizarre, 43-minute chase Saturday
morning.
It began when a deputy clocked
a passing car on Interstate 70,
travelling at over 90 mph. The deputy
began pursuit of the driver as he
traveled west towards Salina. The car
was spraypainted with derogatory
statements about law enforcement.
The suspect was able to drive
around spikes that were set up at
the junction of I-70 and Highway 81.
Eventually, the suspect drove into a
soybean field.
Sheriff Glen Kochanowski says the suspect then drove the car in
circles for 40 minutes while law enforcement set up a perimeter
around the field, blocking off the man’s exits. at times, the suspect
threw blankets, CDs and other items out of the car. At one point,
the vehicle slowed down to around 5 miles per hour and the suspect
climbed out and “surfed” on the car’s roof.
The Sheriff says the man was yelling bible verses at officers, making
faces and even flashed peace signs. Deputies did pepper spray the
driver several times while he was inside the car.
The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Aaron S. Jansen of Dover,
New Hampshire, eventually surrendered to deputies. He’s being
held on charges of fleeing and eluding, obstruction, reckless driving
and speeding.
At the time of his arrest, Jansen was wearing a cowboy hat, boots
and a woman’s dress. He also has a warrant out of Dickinson County,
where he is accused of spray painting “Help me” on the tailgate
of a pickup and leaving behind his billfold, which included his
identification.

Finding illegal drug users is not always easy for police, but a 54-year-old
Enid woman made their job a little
easier when she reportedly called police to tell them her meth was laced.
According to the affidavit, Lynette
Rae Sampson called Enid police on
July 21 and told them she had a tin
of methamphetamine on her kitchen
counter. When an officer arrived at her
residence, she told him, “I’m glad you
came.”
She probably didn’t feel the same
about him later that day.
The officer asked if he could come in,
and Sampson said yes. She explained to the officer that she thought
someone had laced her “ice” with something. She showed him the tin
of meth and a homemade device used to smoke the drugs. She also
showed him two plastic bags that contained a white crystalline substance. The substance appeared to be meth.
Sampson led the officer into her living room, and she started hearing things and began sweating profusely. When the officer asked her
if she had recently used meth, she admitted to smoking meth a couple of hours prior. She asked him not to take her to jail.
Sorry, Sampson, that’s what happens when you show police your
illegal drugs.
He placed her in handcuffs and transported her to jail.
The substance found in Sampson’s kitchen tested positive for
methamphetamine. No report on whether it was laced or not.
Sampson is being charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Her
bond was set at $5,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court on
August 25, 2014.
Laced meth? Who you gonna
call? Not the police…

District Attorney Craig Ladd requested OSBI open a full
investigation into the disappearance and possible homicides
of Molly Miller and Colt Haynes in south central Oklahoma. A
friend last heard from them via phone July 8, 2013. July 25, 2013,
the Wilson Police Chief requested OSBI technical assistance and
analytic case support. OSBI has helped run dozens of leads in the
past 12 months as have numerous other municipal, county, state,
and federal law enforcement agencies. Leads recently surfaced
that could prove helpful in this case. OSBI agents and various
other law enforcement offi cers are currently running those
leads. Because this is an open criminal investigation, no specifi c
details on this case can be released at this point. Miller was 17 at
the time of her disappearance; Haynes was 21.

John 10:10: “The thief cometh not, but
for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I
am come that they might have light, and
that they might have it more abundantly.”
The thief Jesus is referring to in this
scripture is Satan himself. The Lord
contrasts the work of the devil as stealing,
killing, and destroying, while the work
of the Lord is to bring abundant life to
His people. Notice that the thief doesn’t
stop at one sin of stealing, but rather
progresses on to kill and destroy.
Many people do not realize that what
they think as just taking seemingly little things can lead to taking bigger
things and ultimately one becomes a thief. The “little fox” of stealing
towels from the motel, shoplifting small items, keeping things that do not
belong to them, can lead to a dangerous pattern which could eventually
lead to one being imprisoned for theft.
Shoplifting alone costs our businesses enormous amounts of money
which causes to have to pay higher prices for goods. When a nation stoops
to thievery in any form, it hurts all the people.
in recent news articles, we have seen how thievery on the national level
has jeopardized the safety of our whole country because of people stealing
our national secrets and selling them to our potential enemies. We pray
for this element of sin in our society to be removed.
We, as Christians, know this can only happen through the Lord changing
men’s hearts and giving them power over sin in their lives. We pray for
revival in our nation so that honor and honesty will prevail in our national
life.
We must also check our own lives to see if we are failing God by yielding
to stealing and cheating.

FALSE DECLARATION OF

public intox
By Lt. Jeff James
Oklahoma Highway Patrol
It’s hard to believe that this is
the 37th installment of Tips From
a Trooper! The 4th of July holiday always makes me thankful for
our service men and women, who fight for the freedoms we enjoy
in the greatest country on Earth!. On that note, I thought I would
just give some thoughts about the people who are out there serving
the public.
First of all, please thank a veteran. If you see one, just go up,
shake their hand, and thank them for their service. Regardless of
politics, those men and women did and still do sacrifice a lot for
their country, and each and every one of us. They didn’t ask to be
sent to war, they didn’t get to pick or chose which war they were
sent to fight in, but they did their duty. They deserve our respect.
Next, lets move on to the men and women who are serving the
public on a daily basis. Emergency first responders are by and
large some of the finest men and women there are. None of us
got into our professions to get rich, we are here because it was a
calling. That calling may have been law enforcement, firefighter,
EMT, Paramedic, dispatcher, or any of the numerous medical
fields. All of these people are driven by the need to serve, to help,
to do their part in making the world a better place. In exchange
for the privilege to serve, we are rewarded with long days, call
outs in the middle of the night, a ton of interrupted meals, and
the real possibility of missing some of our family’s very important
events. This is not a gripe, this is reality for us. To be quite honest,
we wouldn’t have it any other way!
We also get lumped in with the bad apples when one of our
profession makes the media in a bad way. Please remember that the
media only runs the sensational news. “Trooper Changes Flat Tire
for Elderly Couple” or “Fire Department holds free Child Restraint
Inspections” are not ever going to make it into the news, although
it happens every day. I make no excuses for the men and women in
our profession who do make the news in a bad way, they made their
choices, and there are some bad apples in every profession. Please
remember that, and know that the 99% of us that are doing the
right thing every day, are just as upset about those headlines as you
are, and don’t want or deserve to be lumped in with them.
For my part, I would like to thank each and every one of the men
and women who I work with on crash scenes, DUI arrests, agency
assists, and all the other calls we go on every day. It is my privilege
to not only get to serve the public, but to work with each and every
one of you! Thanks for reading, buckle up, and be safe!
Tips from a Trooper

OK Jailbirds is cooperating with the efforts of Oklahoma Department of Human Services to impact the huge
social problem of irresponsible parents who are not paying the child supports ordered by our courts.
If these biological-only parents won’t honor the courts order, perhaps public shame will get their attention.
If you know how to reach any of the Deadbeat Parents found on this page, please call the Oklahoma Department of Human Services
Child Support HotLine at 1-800-522-8014
Importance of Child Support
Children are our future and child support helps make sure they
have a chance at a productive life. Children have the right to get
support from both parents and do not lose this right when a
parent leaves the home.
When children do not receive child support, they can:
Suffer both Emotionally and Physically
Live within a Reduced Standard of Living
Have their Basic Needs Unmet
Become Non-Supportive when they become Parents.
When one or both parents do not support their children,
taxpayers often pay the cost of raising children. When children
receive public assistance and their parents pay no child support,
all taxpayers bear the cost of supporting the children.

What you’re saying
about this on...
Cheryle B: Karma for ya
Jennifer B: Good
Billy G: He didn’t die slowly
enough, or screaming.
Tarah Rae L: The definition of
karma
Joseph N: Good riddance. Only
way it could have gone any better
is if the car caught on fire with him
trapped inside and still alive. I’m
sure he will have plenty of burns
where he is now.
Kristina J: It never said he did it
he is jst a suspect
Kelly D: According to this, they
have evidence against him..
Wayne S: Kristina the news says
he was linked by his DNA.... All of it
is a sad bag of mess.
Kristina J: Still says suspect in
this article. I’m not saying he didn’t
do it. I’m jst saying sme people are

Brandi W: Hope he suffered just
like all the ppl he has hurt.. Bet he Is

Bill F: If he is guilty like they say
the DNA evidence proves, at least
all those poor ladies won’t have to
go through the additional trauma of
having to testify at his trial and the
tax payers won’t have to pay for his
incarceration the rest of his life.
Frank H: Good!!!! what a POS!!
Eddy C: No loss to the community.
LittleWeasel W: DNA still don’t
prove nothing now a days. There are
still a lot of people locked up cause
DNA said they did it, yet they really
didn’t do it. So you can’t go off of
DNA any more.
Christy C: then what should we
do when someone commits crimes
like this? Wait until someone confesses? DNA proves everything
these days. It would be hard to explain why your dna is in a couple
of womans ass when it shouldnt be
if you are claiming to be innocent.
Witnesses get confused and are not
always reliable. DNA doesn’t get
confused or feel any emotion for one
party or another.
Trish M: Still think he’s just a

Tulsa Police say serial rape suspect Desmond
Campbell is dead
Campbell had been in intensive care since being
badly hurt in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 44
early on the morning of Sunday, June 29, 2014.
The Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office had
called a news conference about the case for 2 p.m.
July 8, but that was before news of Campbell’s death
broke.
Documents released detailed the evidence Tulsa
Police had against Campbell.
The documents also contained details of the attacks which the victims gave police.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that Campbell wrecked a car just
before 6 a.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2014. Troopers said he hit a large sign
post near Sheridan and listed the possible cause as sleepiness. The wreck
happened just minutes after the last sexual assault police have attributed to
Campbell.

A concerned citizen of Six Mile, South Carolina, contacted police after spotting Tracy Nadine Ellenburg erratically drunk-riding a stolen stallion down the middle
of Main Street (the citizen’s ability to distinguish between
drunken and sober horseback riding should have been
immediately commended). Ellenburg had parked her
horse before police arrived, but the officer on scene was
able to locate it anyway, because it was the only horse
tied to a bench outside a convenience store. The officer
confronted Ellenburg, who stank of alcohol, swayed and
slurred her defiant insistence that she was sober, which
you may recognize as a level of drunkenness so spectacular that people mimic it when they are pretending to
be drunk. Regardless, not only did Ellenburg deny any
wrongdoing, she actually blamed the horse, which, if you
remember from before, was stolen. She declared that the
horse was drunk, not her, and therefore the horse was at
fault for the erratic riding. The police, not appreciating
having witnessed one of the seven wonders of the drunken excuse world, cited Ellenburg for disorderly conduct.
A woman in St. Paul, Minnesota, was tucking her children into bed when she heard a noise somewhere in her
house. Going downstairs to investigate, she spotted a
man and a woman running full-tilt out the back door.
The woman chased after the intruders and found them
loading bags of her stuff onto their bicycles. They were
thwarted hilariously when a neighbor blocked them in
with his car and called the police. The thieves, Charles
and Pernella Bull, had attempted to make off with a laptop, a desktop computer, a toolbox, the woman’s purse
and a few other odds and ends. On their bicycles. We cannot stress this enough. When questioned, Mrs. Bull said
that a friend had told her that the address was listed as a
“free house” on Craigslist, which meant that the owners
were moving out in a hurry, so anyone was free to just
show up and take whatever they wanted. Mrs. Bull said
she had called out to ask if anyone was there when she
walked into the house (you know, the house with all the
lights on and a purse sitting on the counter), but when
no one answered, she figured it was vacant and starting
loading up the bicycles. The police weren’t able to find
the alleged “free house” listing on Craigslist, most likely
because at no point in the course of human history had it
ever existed, so the Bulls were arrested.
As Lee Solarski was tooling along one day, he crashed
his car into both a mailbox and a pickup truck, as one
does. Being a responsible citizen, he immediately drove
away, not realizing that a witness had written down
his license plate number. When the police tracked him
down, Solarski explained that he’d crashed because his
passenger had a tarantula in the car with them. The tarantula had gotten loose and was biting Solarski, causing
him to lose control of the car during the attack. To his
credit, we admit a rampaging tarantula would be enough
of a reason to crash anything. The police searched the
car but didn’t find the offending spider, which we figure
came as a relief to whichever officer drew search-the-carfor-a-secret-tarantula duty. After a similarly thorough
search of Solarski failed to produce any spider bites, he
was arrested.

Tulsa man Cody Don
Hathcock, 22, allegedly attacked his ex-wife while
staying with her in Perry for
a funeral.
Apparently, a phone call
she received from another
man sent him over the edge.
According to the affidavit, a Perry police officer
was dispatched July 16 to
a residence on Birch due
to a woman who had been
assaulted. When the officer arrived, he immediately
saw the woman — she was
bleeding from the face. She
told him that she had picked
up her ex, Hathcock, from Tulsa for a funeral of a mutual friend. The
victim said she and her ex started arguing about a phone call from
another man. She said Hathcock became upset and started hitting
her in the face while her children were in the house. He then tried
to take her purse from her; a struggle ensued, but he was able to get
away with $80 and keys to the other man’s vehicle.
The victim said the other man was letting her drive his car while he
was away working, but Hathcock did not have permission to drive it.
Hathcock left the residence with the money and car.
A state trooper later found the stolen vehicle on Highway 412 at
mile marker 27. The vehicle was locked, unoccupied, and there were
no keys in the vehicle.
Hathcock was later arrested.
Hathcock is being charged with larceny of an automobile, firstdegree robbery, unauthorized use of a vehicle and domestic assault
and battery in presence of minor. His bond was set at $10,000. Court
date was unknown at time of print.

A Kingfisher couple was arrested for drug use
after the woman asked a neighbor if he wanted
to get high.
On July 21, Kingfisher officers were dispatched to the 500 block of N. First Street for
information of drug activity, according to the affidavit. When an officer arrived, he met with a
juvenile male who told him that Lillie Elizabeth
Mefferd, 35, had asked him if he wanted to get
high.
The officer went to Mefferd’s residence and
announced his presence. He saw someone run
past a window before Mefferd opened the door.
He asked her if she had talked to the juvenile,
and she said she was just joking with him.
Mefferd invited the officers inside her house.
Her boyfriend, 25-year-old Victor Gonzalez, was
also in the house. An officer asked her when she
had last used drugs, and she admitted to using
meth the day before. She consented to a search
of her home, and officers found plastic baggies
with a white crystalline residue.
A short time later, Mefferd requested that the officers stop their
search without a warrant. An officer prepared a search warrant and
tested the residue in the baggies — it was meth.
At approximately 11:10 p.m., police continued a search of the residence. Mefferd told them to look in the shed because there might be
some “glass” and other stuff.
Police found a beer can with a green leafy substance, a curved piece
of glass with burnt residue, a pocketknife with a green leafy substance,
a straw with residue and a baggy with residue.
Police placed Gonzalez and Mefferd under arrested and took them
to jail.
They are being charged with two counts of possession of a controlled
dangerous substance. They are both being held in lieu of $20,000
bonds and are scheduled to appear in court on August 14, 2014.

drunken man allegedly crashed
into another vehicle and yelled “f---
you!” at the other driver before speeding away.
Don’t worry — it wasn’t long before
he was behind bars.
According to the affidavit, Fairview
police contacted a state trooper on
July 16 about a hit-and-run accident
that had occurred on SH 58 in south
Fairview. When the trooper arrived,
he was advised that the fleeing driver
was intoxicated.
Police also found empty beer cans
and an open container in his vehicle.
The trooper made contact with the driver, Oakwood man Matthew
Dwayne Dowling, 38, who was sitting in a patrol car, and asked him
his name. Dowling told him, “I know you’re trying to coerce me —
you know my name.”
Dowling was belligerent and refused to answer the trooper’s questions and talked over him while he was asking questions. At one
point, Dowling began screaming obscenities and exited the patrol
vehicle. The trooper placed him back in the patrol car, but Dowling
exited again. An officer then transported him to jail.
According to police observations and the other driver, Dowling
had failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by another vehicle. The
other driver said Dowling asked him if he was a police officer, and
when he said no, Dowling flipped him off and screamed, “Well then,
f--- you!” before speeding off.
Once Dowling was at the jail, he threatened and kicked officers,
and had to be placed in a restraint chair.
Dowling is being charged with driving a motor vehicle while under
the influence of alcohol, obstructing an officer, leaving scene of accident involving vehicle damage, driving with license revoked, transporting an open container and failure to yield from stop sign. He was
released on a $75,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on
August 6, 2014.
F-bombs away!
An Anadarko woman was arrested for hiding drugs where she probably thought
was a very good hiding spot.
Fortunately for police, she gave up the location early and didn’t make them play
hide and seek.
According to the affidavit, a Chickasha officer stopped a vehicle at 4:35 a.m. July
6 because the vehicle had a broken windshield and improper tag light. It was a
long time before the driver pulled over, and the officer suspected that the vehicle’s
occupants were hiding something.
The officer recognized the driver of the vehicle as a man currently on bond for
meth distribution charges. The passenger was 58-year-old Vicki Dale Plunk.
The officer asked Plunk why it took so long for them to pull over.
He was about to get an answer he didn’t want.
According to the affidavit, the officer could tell Plunk knew he was going to find
drugs on her. He was, but he probably wasn’t expecting them to be where they were.
Plunk told the officers she would just get the drugs so they didn’t have to search
for them.
After she told him she had methamphetamine stuffed up inside of her, the officers were probably extremely
grateful.
Plunk stepped out of the car and removed the items from her, ahem, lady parts.
Inside one of the baggies (yes, there were more than one…impressive, huh?), there was a white crystal-like
substance. Police also found a digital scale in the vehicle.
Thank God that wasn’t up there, too!
A warrant check revealed that Plunk had a valid warrant in Grady County. An officer transported Plunk to the
Grady County Jail.
Plunk is being charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance and unlawful possession of drug
paraphernalia. She was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 30, 2014.

FACT:
If someone sexually assaults an adult, he
will not target children as victims, and if
someone sexually assaults a child, he will
not target adults.
False. Research and anecdotal evidence
indicate that while some sex offenders choose
only one type of victim (e.g., prepubescent girls,
post-pubescent boys, adult women, etc.), others
prey on different types of victims. Therefore, no
assumptions should be made about an offender’s
victim preference and precautions should be taken
regardless of his crime of conviction.
