A 29-year-old Enid man is facing child sexual abuse charges after his victim told a friend
about the abuse.
Byan Keith Case was charged November 28
with child sexual abuse- child under 12, in Garfield County District Court.
According to a press release by the Enid Police Department, Case was
arrested November 28 on the warrant for the charge. He is being held in lieu
of $250,000 bond at the Garfield County Detention Facility.
Earlier last month, the victim’s father reported the incident to after the girl,
now eight years old, disclosed the abuse to a friend. The incidents occurred
when the victim was five to six years old.
During a forensic interview, the girl disclosed being sexually abused by
“Uncle Bryan.” During his investigation, Detective Austin Lenamond learned
“Uncle Bryan” was Bryan Case.
Case was interviewed about the allegations, which he initially denied. Further into the interview, Case admitted to sexually abusing the girl.
Case is scheduled to next appear in court on December 18.

DOOP DOO DE DOOP
Lawton man Bryan William Peeler, 43, is being
accused of conning an acquaintance in Woods
County after he allegedly duped her into buying an
ATV sight unseen.
According to reports, a woman contacted an investigator with the district attorney’s office on November 8. She said a couple months previously,
Peeler called her and asked if she wanted to buy
a 4-wheeler from him. He sent her a picture of a
2019 Razor ATV.
Peeler said he would sell her the ATV for $8,000. They agreed that she would
send him $4,000 as a down payment and pay the rest when he delivered the
4-wheeler to her. She sent him $2,000 on October 23 and $2,000 November 4.
Peeler acknowledged receiving the money.
After that, however, she didn’t hear from him again.
He didn’t meet up with her to deliver the ATV like he said. He also stopped
replying to her texts, and he deleted her from social media.
The investigator conducted a background check on Peeler and saw that the
man had a lengthy criminal record. His previous charges include burglary, false
declaration of ownership, domestic assault and battery, and more.
Peeler is being charged with felony value - false pretenses/con game and computer fraud/unlawful use of computer system. He was arrested on December 4.
His bond was set at $10,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on January
9, 2024.

AROUND THE NATION
Needin’ some down-home cookin!
For most people, prison would be something
you’d escape from and never look back if you
ever found yourself in that predicament; but for
these Texas prisoners, they just needed their creature comforts before coming
right back. According to Dallas News, an inmate who was locked up in a federal
facility in Beaumont snuck out only to get booze, tobacco, snacks, and food to
bring back with him since, you know, the food in prison is probably really bad.
And it isn’t just this one incident, either. Inmates have apparently been using
a back door to skip out to land nearby, picking up contraband left behind for
them, and coming right back. Sheriff’s Deputy Marcus McLellan recently told the
Beaumont Enterprise that inmates have been essentially making up their own
in-and-out privileges at the facility “since day 1.”
Sherrif’s deputies in Jefferson County finally realized what was happening and
laid in wait to watch it all go down. Around 5:45 PM, a duffel bag was dropped
off on the adjacent property, and around 7:30 p.m., 27-year-old Joshua Randall
Hansen was observed leaving the prison to retrieve the bag. On Hansen’s way
back into the facility after picking it up, he was arrested.
Once confiscated, the authorities said the duffel bag was full of alcohol (whiskey and brandy, specifically),
packages of tobacco, snacks,
fruits, and plenty of home cooked
food.
Hansen was already in the process of serving a little over two
years for conspiring to distribute designer drugs, but now will
likely do additional time as he faces escape and marijuana possession charges.

A 34-year-old Woodward man accused of
possessing child pornography will appear in
court in March 2024 after a judge granted a
continuance for his hearing on November 9.
According to reports, Tucker Gene Heglin’s
attorney requested the continuance.
On January 6, 2023, Oklahoma State Bureau
of Investigation agents made contact with Heglin while he was working as the manager at Boiling Springs Park. The agents
asked Heglin for his permission to search his cellphone and computer. Heglin
agreed.
While looking through the man’s devices, OSBI agents found hundreds of
child pornography documents.
Court documents also state that in 2015, an investigator with OSBI looked
at Heglin’s computer. The investigator found child pornography - many of the
files agents found in January were the same materials. Heglin had reported
he deleted those materials. He wasn’t charged for anything back in 2015, but
he’s facing charges now.
Heglin is being charged with aggravated possession of child pornography
and violation of computer crimes act. His bond was set at $100,000, and he
is scheduled to appear in court on March 14, 2024.

YOUTH GONE WILD
A 19-year-old man from Kingfisher was arrested for DUI and possession of alcohol after he
tried to elude a police officer on November 19.
According to court documents, a Kingfisher
police officer tried to stop the suspect, identified
as Danny Moyeda, for a traffic stop, but the man
instead tried to drive away.
The officer watched as Moyeda approached
the intersection of Will Rogers and Main Street
in a reckless manner. The tires on his vehicle spun out, and the truck he was
driving slid sideways, causing the front end to cross over into the oncoming
lane of traffic. He also sped through several intersections without stopping
and endangered other motorists.
During the pursuit, Moyeda reached speeds in excess of 100 mph. When
the chase eventually came to an end, the officer found an opened bottle of
tequila in Moyeda’s truck.
Moyeda is being charged with endangering others while eluding/attempting
to elude an officer, driving under the influence by a person under 21, possession of alcohol by person under 21, driving without a driver’s license, reckless
driving, and transporting an open container of alcoholic beverage. His bond
was set at $2,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on December 19,

AROUND THE STATE
On November 5, around 4:15 p.m., a GMC
pickup was driving erratically on I-244 EB and
nearly hit an officer who was en route to another
call. The Officer had to maneuver out of the way
to avoid being struck by the truck.
The officer stopped the driver, later identified as
Juan Diaz-Rodriguez. Diaz-Rodriguez gave the
officer multiple names and birthdates, and he did
not have a license or any identification.
While the officer and a backing officer were taking Diaz-Rodriguez into custody, he began pulling away and attempting to escape. Diaz-Rodriguez kicked the officers and bit one of them.
Diaz-Rodriguez managed to break away and ran into oncoming traffic across
the interstate, which was filled with traffic at the time.
Officers immediately set up a perimeter in the area. Minutes later, officers received a call about Diaz-Rodriguez attempting to break into a house. Officers in
the area quickly responded and took Diaz-Rodriguez into custody.
Juan Diaz-Rodriguez was arrested for Assault & Battery on a Police Officer (2
counts), Obstructing Justice, Resisting Arrest, No License, and DUI/Drugs.
The Officers involved were not severely injured in the arrest. This is an arrest,
not a conviction.
