Being able to tell the difference between healthy, unhealthy and abusive
relationships can be more difficult than you would think. No two relationships
are the same, so what’s unhealthy in one relationship may be abusive in another. Although there are many signs to pay attention to in a relationship, look

seek and ye shall find
An Enid man was arrested in Canadian
County after he sought to have sex with
what he thought was a 14-year-old girl.
According to the Canadian county Sheriff’s Office, on Tuesday, January 8, Canadian County Sheriff investigators arrested
Jason Seek, 43, of Enid, for Lewd Acts
with a Child Under 16. The investigation
began on December 28, 2018 when Seek
began communicating with an undercover
investigator using a popular social media
app.
Seek was told on multiple occasions that
he was talking to a f 14-year-old girl, but he continued with the elicit
conversation anyway. In fact, Seek told the young girl that he would
like to have sex with her, and used graphic and profane language to
describe the sexual acts he desired to perform with her. Seek also
asked the under aged girl if she had ever had an orgasm.
Seek engaged in a video call where he was laying on the bed
naked talking to the decoy. During the conversation Seek said he
was worried about going to jail because of the age of the child he
thought he was talking to. However, Seek told the young girl that he
was going to perform oral sex on her, and it would feel great.
On January 8, Seek told the 14-year-old girl that he had a friend
who could take him to Yukon to meet on that day. Once a location
was setup for Seek to meet, investigators waited for the predator
to show. Seek said he would be in a little silver or gray car. Seek
arrived at the meet location, Chapel Ridge Apartments, where he
was arrested and interviewed. Seek admitted he was there to meet
a 14-year-old girl and have sex with her.
“I’m extremely pleased with the outstanding work of my Investigators in taking these child predators off the streets. The protection of
children continues to be my top priority,” said Chris West, Canadian
County Sheriff.
Seek was arrested for Lewd Acts with a Child Under 16, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Also in the vehicle were Seek’s friends and they were released at
the scene when investigators realized they did not know they were
taking Seek to a meet a fourteen year old. Seek was transported
to Canadian County Detention Facility. Bond was set at $102,000.

Richard Dean Hoadley Jr., 62, allegedly used Facebook
to contact a minor and ask for sexually explicit pictures,
according to reports.
A District 26 District Attorney’s investigator received a
tip through the National Center for Missing & Exploited
Children that the Alva man had been communicating with
an underage girl via the social media platform.
Apparently, Facebook had captured the conversation
between the older man and young girl.
The conversation consisted of sexually explicit texts
and child exploitation images that were being sent to and
from Hoadley’s Facebook account. Reports state more
than 20 images of the girl were sent to the man’s account.
Hoadley allegedly asked the girl for photographs of her
breasts, and he told her that the pictures would make him happy and make him
smile.
On January 16, the investigator obtained a search warrant and found more child
exploitation images of the victim in the possession of Hoadley through his phone
and Facebook account.
Hoadley is being charged with procuring obscene material, soliciting sexual conduct or communication with minor by use of technology and violation of OK statute
via computer. He also faces pornography charges in Woodward County. Bond was
set at $100,000 and his preliminary hearing is set for June 25, 2019.

We often receive calls asking if there is a price to keep
someone out of our publication. The short answer to that
question is NO! OK Jailbirds has never accepted money
or favor to not publish a photo.
We hear many times from people that the arresting officer of someone at the jail told them all they have to do
is pay us money and we will not publish their photo. This
is NOT true. We feel that taking money in exchange for
not publishing an arrest photo is extortion and, as such,
should be a crime.
There are companies who do take money to remove a
person’s arrest information. OK Jailbirds never has and
never will. If an arrest doesn’t make our paper, it is only
because we didn’t receive it or we didn’t have a photo we
could match up.

hair of the dog
26-year-old Timothy Wayne Rector Jr. was
locked up on January 7 after he abused his
girlfriend’s 6-month-old puppy.
According to the police report, a Perry officer
was dispatched to a residence in the 900 block
of North Sixth Street to investigate a burglary.
When he arrived, a woman told him Rector
lived there with her and her kids, but he had
recently gotten out of jail, and DHS told her not
to let the Perry man come over.
When she walked into her home that day,
she noticed Rector’s belongings and her pit
bull puppy were missing. She told the officer she just wanted her dog
back.
Another woman at the scene said her friend told her Rector had the dog
at a residence in the 200 block of Fir Street. She said the puppy’s leg was
shattered because it had been beaten.
The officer went to the residence where he saw that the dog was limping. Another officer at the home said the puppy was urinating blood. Rector said he didn’t know what happened to the dog. He said it was hurt
when he took it from his girlfriend’s home.
Rector’s girlfriend said the man had been abusing the dog for the past
month. She said he would beat it with a belt if it peed or pooped inside the
house, leaving blood on the walls. The woman said Rector once showed
her a hole in the wall, and he told her he had “back-handed” the puppy into
the wall after it nipped at him.
Rector also allegedly slammed the dog into the shower floor while calling
it a “punk bitch” and punched the animal in the face.
The woman said she recently came home from work to find the dog
limping, with a swollen eye and bleeding snout. She told the officer Rector
said he might have broken the dog’s leg, and he apologized for hurting
the animal. The woman said she didn’t report the abuse because she was
afraid of what Rector would do to her.
Rector was charged with cruelty to animals. He pled guilty on February 6
and was sentenced to five years suspended sentence plus fines.
At press time, the puppy was still with the veterinarian and authorities
are working to retain custody of the dog so it will protected from future
threat of abuse.

Edmond woman arrested after
Kingfisher pursuit
Edmond woman Sarah Ashley Phillips, 27,
was booked into the Kingfisher County Jail
after leading officers on a high-speed pursuit
on January 15.
According to reports, a Kingfisher County
deputy first stopped the woman’s vehicle in
a business parking lot. During the stop, she
refused to obey the deputy’s commands and
instead put the vehicle in drive and left the
scene.
The deputy followed her with his lights activated and sirens blaring.
Phillips refused to stop, instead reaching
speeds in excess of 100 mph while fleeing
down country roads. The pursuit eventually
came to an end on CR 770, just west of CR 2800.
The deputy deployed a deliberate maneuver to drive into the side of the
woman’s vehicle, forcing her truck into a ditch. While doing do, the deputy
also lost control of his patrol SUV, flipping several times before coming to a
stop on the driver’s side. He was able to kick the window out and escape
shortly before the vehicle burst into flames.
Phillips also crawled out the window of her vehicle, but she was apprehended by officers and placed under arrest.
In her first court appearance on January 23, Phillips pleaded not guilty to
the charges of eluding/attempting to elude police officer, obstructing an officer and reckless driving. Her bond was set at $30,000, and she is scheduled
to appear in court on March 12, 2019.

As a female shopper exited a convenience store, a man grabbed her
purse and ran. The clerk called 911 immediately and the woman was
able to give them a detailed description of the snatcher, and police apprehended him within minutes. They put him in the cruiser and drove
back to the store. The thief was then taken out of the car and told to
stand there for a positive ID. To which he replied, “Yes Officer, that’s her.
That’s the lady I stole the purse from.”
In Bent Forks, Ill., kidnapers of ice-cube magnate Worth Bohnke sent a
photograph of their captive to Bohnke’s family. Bohnke was seen holding
up a newspaper. It was not that day’s edition and, in fact, bore a prominent headline relating to Nixon’s trip to China. This was pointed out to
the kidnapers in a subsequent phone call. They responded by sending a
new photograph showing an up-to-date newspaper. Bohnke, however,
did not appear in the picture. When this, too, was refused, the kidnapers became peevish and insisted that a photograph be sent to them
showing all the people over at Bohnke’s house holding different issues of
Success Magazine. They provided a mailing address and were immediately apprehended. They later admitted to FBI agents they did not understand the principle involved in the photograph/newspaper concept. “We
thought it was just some kind of tradition,” said one.
After being arrested for stealing a car, the judge asked the man, “how
do you plead?” Instead of saying guilty or not guilty the man said: “Before
we go any further, judge, let me explain why I stole the car.” The judge
ruled in record time.
When two service station attendants refused to hand over the cash
to an intoxicated robber, the man threatened to call the police. They still
refused, so the robber called the police and was arrested.
Police in Los Angeles had good luck with a robbery suspect who just
couldn’t control himself during a lineup. When detectives asked each
man in the lineup to repeat the words, “Give me all your money or I’ll
shoot,” the man shouted, “That’s not what I said!”
In a small town of 1700, a student attempted to rob the local convenience store wearing his letterman’s jacket. He did not realize that he was
the only male named Dana in the whole town.
A company called “Guns For Hire” stages gunfights for Western movies, etc. One day, they received a call from a 47-year-old woman, who
wanted to have her husband killed. She got 4-1/2 years in jail.
Accused of selling drugs, Howard Jones’s attorney sought to lower
his client’s bail from $150,000 insisting that Jones would not think about
fleeing. At that very instant, Jones sprinted out of the front door of the
courtroom. He was caught fifty minutes later and his bail was raised to
$500,000.

A Fairview man was taken into custody after he allegedly consistently waited outside a woman’s home
to watched her movements, according to reports.
On January 23, a Fairview police officer was dispatched to a home at approximately 2 a.m. to investigate a violation of a protective order. The officer
spoke to a woman who said 30-year-old Joshua
Don Doyel had been calling her and sending her
messages. She said the man also threatened to
come to her and told her that he’d been watching
her home.
Reports state the woman also told the officer that
Doyel had been parking his truck down the street,
and she had caught him watching her home multiple times.
Armed with a description of the suspect’s truck,
the officer left the home and was on the lookout. It didn’t take him long to find the
man – he saw a truck matching the description parked about 500 feet from the
woman’s home and within sight of the driveway. The officer also saw Doyel sitting
in the passenger seat. He tapped on the window and the man opened the door.
Doyel smelled like alcohol, his eyes were bloodshot and watery, and he spoke in
thick, slurred speech. When the officer asked him what he was doing, Doyel said
he was just napping. The officer asked him to step out of the vehicle, but the man
refused. He told the officer he wasn’t doing anything wrong.
Doyel refused several more commands and told the officer, “F--- you.” The officer
then advised the man he was under arrest. Officers had to physically remove the
man from his truck. He was placed under arrest and transported to jail, where he
continued to be verbally and physically combative toward officers.
Charges were filed against the man on January 24.
Doyel was also charged with conspiracy in a separate case filed the same day.
According to reports, he conspired to purchase several pounds of marijuana.
Doyel is being charged with stalking, conspiracy, actual physical control under
the influence and resisting an officer. For the stalking and conspiracy charges, his
bond was set at $85,000.
He is scheduled to appear in court on February 14, 2019.
