Two Enid men were arrested on December 21
after attempting to use a stolen vehicle to steal an
ATM and then leading officers on a pursuit.
Cody Ray Jolley, 39, and Jason Samuel Kidd,
50, both of Enid, were taken into custody after
crashing the stolen vehicle and attempting to flee
the scene on foot. Both are facing charges of
grand larceny, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, eluding, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm after
former felony conviction, possession of CDS and
obstruction, among other charges. Kidd also had
outstanding arrest warrants.
At 6:23 a.m. a jogger on Willow Avenue called
911 and reported seeing a dark colored SUV
backed up to the ATM building in the Heritage
Hills shopping center parking lot. The jogger said
two men with the vehicle wrapped a chain around
the ATM and used the vehicle to pull it from the wall.
The vehicle, which was stolen out of Enid the day before, then went north on
Heritage Hills Trails. Officers arrived in the area, located the SUV dragging the
ATM and a pursuit began on Purdue Avenue. Speeds reached 90 mph during
the pursuit and officers could see debris coming off the ATM being dragged by
the vehicle.
The pursuit continued south on Cleveland Avenue until the SUV crashed near
the railroad tracks at Oklahoma and Cleveland. Jolley and Kidd both attempted
to flee on foot from the crash but were taken into custody shortly after.
Officers found guns, methamphetamine and a handheld police scanner inside
of the stolen vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing and both men could face further charges.

TWO PEAS IN A POD
Two men were arrested early on December 28
after being linked to a series of burglaries to automobiles and thefts.
Nathaniel Kent, 28, and Spencer Kent, 27, were
arrested just before 8 a.m. in the 900 block of
West Cherry after attempting to flee from officers
on foot.
The two were arrested on complaints of burglary to a motor vehicle, conspiracy, obstruction,
and knowingly concealing stolen property. Spencer was also arrested on complaints of breaking
and entering, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
At 6:58 a.m., officers responded to the 1600
block of North Quincy on a report of suspicious
persons in the area. The caller said a person was
seen in the area with a backpack and checking
vehicles with a flashlight. The caller said the person attempted to break into their vehicle.
Officers searched the surrounding area and a person wearing a backpack was
seen running away from officers. Officers then saw two people running together
toward a vacant residence on Cherry.
The Kents have been linked to five automobile burglaries and the investigation
is ongoing. Stolen property was recovered during the execution of a search
warrant at the Kents’ residence. Officers are working to contact the owners of
the stolen property.
We are asking anyone whose vehicle was burglarized between the late evening hours of Dec. 26 and the early morning of hours of Dec. 28 to make a report
with the department. We are also asking those with video systems for footage of
the pair during that time frame.
A majority of the vehicles burglarized were left unlocked. We are asking residents to secure their vehicles and remove all valuables.
We also want to thank the Oklahoma Highway Patrol for its assistance this
morning.
Those with video recordings of the burglars can contact the Enid Police Department at (580) 242-7000 in reference to case number 2023-10703.

A Wichita, Kansas, man was arrested in
Alva after an officer spotted some suspicious
activity in a park on December 28.
According to reports, the suspicious activity was related to a report taken a week earlier
involving stolen guns. Another officer had investigated numerous firearms
reported stolen from the Hadwiger Building in the 400 block of Barnes
on December 21.
On December 28 around midnight, an Alva officer was patrolling the
city park when she saw a tan truck with some trash dumped next to it. A
man, later identified as Brandon Edward Joseph Lewis, 31, and a woman were standing in the truck bed.
The officer told the couple to leave the area. After they left, she looked
through the trash and saw several empty firearm boxes with serial numbers. She also found a McDonald’s receipt and some paperwork with the
addresses where the guns had been reported stolen.
During the investigation, she determined that the McDonald’s receipt
belonged to Lewis.
On December 29, an officer stopped Lewis for a traffic violation. During
the traffic stop, Lewis told the officer that he had three handguns in his
possession. He also admitted that he recently bought some meth, which
was also in his possession.
The officer was advised that Lewis had an outstanding warrant for his
arrest out of McIntosh County. He placed the man under arrest. While
searching the man’s vehicle, officers found two plastic containers containing a white crystal-like substance, two pieces of a white crystal-like
substance, and five bags of marijuana. The white substance later tested
positive for meth. They also found three semi-automatic handguns.
Lewis told police that he had acquired some stolen guns several weeks
earlier and sold them in Kansas. He admitted that the handguns in his
possession were stolen from the Hadwiger Building. He said in the evening and early morning hours of December 28 and December 29, he had
climbed onto the roof of the building, looking for a way to get inside and
steal even more guns.
The victim positively identified the guns as his.
Lewis is being charged with trafficking in illegal drugs, possession of
controlled dangerous substance marijuana with intent to distribute after
the former conviction of a felony, attempted second degree burglary, and
knowingly receiving or concealing stolen property, after the conviction of
two or more felonies. His bond was set at $75,000, and he is scheduled
to appear in court on February 13, 2024.

How the Grinch stole Christmas
A Clay County, Fla., man is facing charges after
deputies say he fired a gun six times near the Middleburg Christmas Parade.
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 4100
block of County Road 218, which is located along the parade route, after hearing several gunshots fired from the area.
When deputies arrived, they found several people yelling at the suspect, identified as Douglas Moore, 43, who was standing at the property line. The people
were demanding to know why Moore shot at them, an arrest report states.
No injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire, according to deputies.
Moore was told to get on the ground but refused, the report states. Moore was
then taken down by deputies after refusing to comply.
Deputies detained four individuals involved. Moore was ultimately placed under arrest following witness interviews and a review of the evidence.
The investigation revealed that Moore, a resident of a nearby property near
the incident location, became agitated by the activities stemming from parade
attendees and discharged a pistol multiple times while entering the property
where the victims were located.
While he was being read his Miranda Rights, deputies observed Moore speaking with slurred speech and had bloodshot and watery eyes, according to the
report.
As a result of the investigation, Moore was charged with six counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm, and using a firearm
while under the influence of alcohol.
“I am thankful for the quick response by the deputies who ran towards the
sound of gunfire to keep our community safe,” Sheriff Michelle Cook said in the
post.

MULTI COUNTY GRAND JURY
INDICTS THREE IN ALLEGED
ILLEGAL MEDICAL
MARIJUANA CONSPIRACY
The Multi-County Grand Jury has indicted
three men for a scheme that allegedly enabled
non-Oklahomans to illegally obtain commercial
licenses for medical marijuana in the state.
Prosecutors allege Kevin Paul Pham, 47, and
Alex Shi ang Lin Chang, 48, paid Richard Gregorio Ignacio, 36, to serve as a “straw owner” for
medical marijuana grow operations in Kingfisher County and elsewhere in the state, effectively
serving as a front for out-of-state individuals.
Non-state residents cannot legally be licensed
by the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority or
registered with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics
and Dangerous Drugs (OBN).
The investigation was conducted by the OBN.
Attorney General Gentner Drummond said the
charges in the case reflect his office’s commitment
to enforcing Oklahoma’s criminal laws against
those who allegedly exploit the state’s legalization
of medical marijuana.
“We cannot and will not tolerate these illegal
enterprises enriching themselves at the expense
of rural Oklahoma,” said the Attorney General.
“While there are many law-abiding participants
in the state’s medical marijuana industry, law enforcement has seen an influx of others who are
using the situation to supply black-market marijuana throughout the country. I am proud of the
Multi-County Grand Jury, the Organized Crime
Task Force and the state Bureau of Narcotics and
Dangerous Drugs — all of which are working diligently to rid Oklahoma of this criminal pestilence.”
Pham, Chang and Ignacio are charged with conspiracy against the state and
a pattern of criminal offenses. Pham and Ignacio face six counts of filing a false
or forged instrument, and one count of aggravated manufacturing of a controlled
dangerous substance (marijuana).
Pham also faces one count of trafficking of a controlled dangerous substance
in excess of 20 grams of methamphetamine, one count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (marijuana) with the intent to distribute, one count
of financial transactions involving proceeds of unlawful acts, and one count of
possession of a firearm after former conviction of a felony.
Prosecution of the case, filed in Kingfisher County District Court, is being led
by Assistant Attorney General Taylor Brown.

Video of a wild police car chase in Missouri involving a driver towing a house has gone viral.
The Excelsior Springs Police Department released the footage in November of Sgt. Kyle Craven in pursuit of an unknown
male motorist driving erratically on Thanksgiving night.
The motorist went 30 mph with the 70-foot long mobile home attached to his
truck that Craven said looked like ‘he was gonna live in it.’ Officers attempted to
deflate his tires by laying stop sticks on the road, but they were not fast enough,
and the driver kept on cruising down US Route 69.
The 35-mile car chase ended after the driver with his mobile home crashed
while attempting to make a sharp left turn at Cameron Road in Mosby. Craven
said he thought the driver was drunk since his driving was so erratic, with his
vehicle veering into the middle of the lanes.
When the driver attempted the left turn he hit a stop sign, giving police the
chance to apprehend him.
Multiple police officers arrested him right in front of the mobile home, and
seemingly had fun doing it - especially the officers who shared high fives after he
was taken away by other cops.
The driver now now faces multiple traffic violation charges, but officers have
not clarified what those charges are.
If he was driving intoxicated, as Craven and other police officers thought, he
could possibly face a DWI (driving while intoxicated) charge, which is a Class B
misdemeanor in Missouri.
However, it can also lead to a maximum of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
