An Enid man was taken to jail after he crashed
into a ditch while drunk, but he undoubtedly entertained police while at the jail with his humorous drunk ramblings that included what he would
do if someone tried to rape him while he was in
jail.
According to the affidavit, an Enid police officer
was dispatched to the area of 2400 West Willow
on Dec. 21, in reference to a reckless driver. Dispatch advised that the driver was traveling with
his hazard lights activated and was swerving all over the road. The
officer was unable to contact the vehicle at the time.
About 20 minutes later, the officer was dispatched to the 4100 block
of West Purdue, in reference to a vehicle being stuck in a ditch. Dispatch told him that the reporting party sounded very intoxicated.
When the officer arrived, he recognized the vehicle from the earlier
call he had received about a reckless driver. The vehicle was stuck in
a ditch and the driver, Ajaypaul Bhamra, 24, was still sitting in the
driver’s seat.
When police made contact with Bharma, he immediately asked
them to take him home in slurred speech. Bharma exited his vehicle,
but had trouble standing, had bloodshot eyes and smelled like alcohol.
Bharma admitted to drinking that evening.
Police transported to jail and once they were there, Bharma said,
“I’m not going to like, I’m drunk.”
He added that he would call a lawyer and “be a d---,” but he wasn’t
that way, then he recanted his statement and said he actually was a
“d---,” because he was the guy that had got drunk and run into a ditch.
Bharma continued to talk to police without being asked any questions and went into graphic detail about what he would do if someone
tried to rape him in his cell. He also told police that they wouldn’t be
able to catch him in a foot race, because he was a track star in both
long and short distances.
Bharma is being charged with an aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol. He was released on a $1,500 bond and is scheduled
to appear in court on Jan. 22, 2014.

An Enid woman has been charged
with outraging public decency after she
showed her ta-tas to a neighbor back in
October.
Rachel Cox, 41, was arrested Dec. 31
and taken to the Garfield County Jail to
face the charges filed against her.
According to the police affidavit, Enid
police officers were called Oct. 6, 2013, to
the 3500 block of Elm Place in reference
to a dog running loose in the neighborhood. A neighbor had called about the
dog, and while he was trying to take video of the dog running around, the dog’s
owner came out of her house completely naked and said, “Why don’t
you take pictures of my boobs and crotch?”
The neighbor said he tried to take her up on her proposition, but
she ran back into her house.
After an investigation, police found probable cause that Cox had
flashed her neighbor and charges were filed against her.
Bond for Cox was set at $500 and she was ordered back to court
on Jan. 22.

Well, winter is here! With this
most recent ice and snow storm
that gripped Oklahoma, there obviously were some significant
obstacles to safe driving. One that I have noticed, that doesn’t
really get a lot of attention, is the visibility that is obstructed by
iced over windshields and windows on vehicles. I’m going to touch
on some of that, to try to raise some awareness about it, and give
some tips to help us stay safe.
We’ve all seen it...a vehicle coming down the road with just a
small hole scraped in the windshield so the driver could see the
road. Every time I see it, I cringe! The law that governs this is
Oklahoma State Statute 47:12-404.C, which states: “No person
shall drive any motor vehicle with any sign, poster, other nontransparent material, or debris, including but not limited to snow,
ice, or frost upon the front windshield or the side wings, or side
or rear windows......which obstructs, obscures, or impairs the
driver’s clear view of the highway ahead or to either side or of any
intersecting highway.” What this means to the everyday driver is
that the little hole you scraped to drive by, just won’t cut it! While
compliance is the goal, the reason is safety! Obviously the chances
of an accident drastically increase as visibility decreases...so why
limit our vision to just a small hole out the front windshield?
There are several ways to clear those windshields, both
mechanically and chemically. A simple ice scraper has been the
preferred method for as long as most people can remember. They
are inexpensive, and easy to find. Another method is simply to go
out 10 minutes before you leave and simply start your car up, and
get the defroster going! When the windows are clear, you are good
to go! Still another way is to obtain any number of chemical deicing sprays that are available at most stores. Don’t pour hot water
on your windows, as the change in temperatures can cause your
window to crack or break!
While we are talking about it, lets not forget about those side and
rear widows. A significant percentage of accidents happen while
backing, so it stands to reason that we need to be able to see out
our back glass as well as the front. Side windows are no different,
no one wants to be struck by a vehicle they couldn’t see when they
pull into an intersection. After you finish with those side windows,
go ahead and hit those side mirrors as well!
All of these suggestions simply take a little extra time, and
sometimes money, but the time and money pale in comparison to
the impact on time and money that an accident will have on you, or
others. As a safe, courteous driver, you owe it to yourself and your
fellow drivers! Thanks for reading, buckle up and be safe!

HIDDEN CAMERAS IN WOMEN’S RESTROOM
A McAlester man was arrested and faces federal and state
charges after investigators say he put a hidden camera inside
the women’s restroom at the McAlester Army Ammunition
Plant.
Kenneth Elkins, 55, was an employee at the plant.
Elkins is charged with three counts of federal video voyeurism, two counts of recording/transmitting obscenity. The
state is also charging him with two counts of using electronic
equipment in clandestine manner.
Investigators say women were videotaped using the restroom at the plant between July and August. They say Elkins captured very revealing
pictures of least three of the women.
When investigators searched Elkins home they found child pornography on his
computer and evidence he was recording inside a 16-year-old relative’s room.
Elkins is out on bond.

A Morrison man turned what should
have been a joyful event into a terrifying
one for the mother of his baby during
their child’s first birthday party after he
allegedly attacked her after consuming
too much alcohol.
The poor child’s first birthday will
probably always be remembered as the
one that daddy went to jail.
In the early morning hours of Dec. 29,
a Noble County deputy was dispatched
to a Morrison residence and met with a
woman who told him that the father of
their child, Troy Don Manning, II, 25, had been at her home all
evening, spending time with their child for its first birthday.
Unfortunately, daddy had been taking the celebration a little
too far, because the victim told police that Manning had been
drinking all evening and had become intoxicated and hostile toward her.
He started calling her names and told her she was a bad mother. He also made derogatory comments about her appearance.
The verbal abuse continued until about 3 in the morning, then it
became physical. Manning allegedly slapped her in the face and
grabbed her throat. He also allegedly told her, “I should break
your neck,” and grabbed her throat.
The deputy observed swelling and redness on the victim’s cheek
and throat. The marks appeared to be consistent with what the
victim had told the deputy, according to the affidavit.
The victim gave the deputy permission to enter her home and
identified a male that was passed out on her bed as Manning.
The deputy placed Manning into handcuffs and transported
him to jail.
Manning is being charged with domestic assault and battery.
His bond was set at $5,000. Court date was not available at time
of publication.

A Zwolle, La., man was arrested
in Hennessey after a police officer
spotted him driving all over the
road on Dec. 22.
According to the affidavit, a Hennessey police officer saw the suspect’s small car traveling at a high
rate of speed and weaving over the
center lane divider several times,
almost striking another driver at
one point. The vehicle continued to
drive east on Highway 51, ”fishtailing” all over the road.
The officer conducted a traffic
stop and made contact with the
driver, Jacob Scott Sepulvado, 23.
While the officer was speaking
with Sepulvado, he could smell alcohol coming from inside the vehicle and could see an open can of beer sitting in the passenger seat.
He asked Sepulvado if he had been drinking that night; Sepulvado
told the officer he had consumed two beers earlier.
After checking the man’s information, the officer asked Sepulvado
to step out of his vehicle. He again asked Sepulvado how much he
had had to drink; Sepulvado hung his head and told the officer he
had drunk “5 or 6 beers at Chili’s.”
After administering standard field sobriety tests, the officer placed
Sepulvado under arrest and transported him to jail.
The officer conducted an inventory of the man’s vehicle and found
an opened can of beer, an empty can of beer and a full can of beer.
According to the police report, Sepulvado had previously been
convicted of a DWI in Louisiana.
Sepulvado is being charged with driving a motor vehicle while
under the influence of alcohol, failure to maintain lane, operating a
motor vehicle – not reasonable and transportation of an open container. He was released on a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear
in court on Jan. 8, 2014.

wrestle with on their own, consulting the Bible and taking the matter
to God in prayer.
In 1 Corinithians 10:23-24, Paul sets down the principle we should
use in such cases:
“Everything is permissible”-but not everything is beneficial.

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol
trooper may have saved the life of a
Isabella man after he arrested him
for walking around town while intoxicated, carrying a firearm.
According to the affidavit, the
trooper was on patrol Dec. 26, when
he overheard on the radio that a suicidal and intoxicated subject had just
left a person’s residence near Fairview. Since the trooper was in Fairview, he advised the Major County
Sheriff’s Office that he would head
toward the residence.
The sheriff’s department advised
him that the suicidal subject, identified as Lance Allen Crelly, 38, was intoxicated and carrying a loaded
shotgun.
On State Highway 8, the trooper spotted the Crelly’s vehicle and
pulled the truck over. Crelly exited his vehicle and told the trooper
that he was the one police were looking for and that he had a loaded
shotgun inside his truck.
Crelly added that he was glad that the trooper had stopped him,
because he was really going to kill himself. He added that he did not
have a driver’s license.
The trooper could smell the odor of alcohol coming from Crelly’s
person and noticed that Crelly was slurring his words, was unsteady
on his feet, and he had red, bloodshot and watery eyes.
Crelly admitted that he had been drinking and said he had consumed several beers that day.
After one standard field sobriety tests, Crelly said he would not do
anymore.
The trooper placed Crelly under arrest and transported him to jail.
Crelly is being charged with possession of a firearm after former
felony conviction. He is being held on a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 20, 2014.
